I think it's illegal to write on cash, but I don't think a merchant will not accept that buck.

Banks and some merchants write on them all the time when they're counting them up. Maybe some shops might refuse them if there's extensive or excessive graffiti on them though.
5022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good Bitcoin videos for an office lunch & learn? on: April 01, 2015, 06:30:38 PM
I think the Morgan Spurlock documentary he did for his Inside Man TV series would be a good start. It's entertaining and is a fairly balanced introduction and is under an hour (40 minutes I believe) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4496430/

Nothing. It would just make the remaining coins even more valuable. More decimal places could be added too if coins were so scarce so smaller denominations weren't worth ridiculous amounts.
5024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 21 million not never !!! on: March 29, 2015, 08:51:11 AM
This study finds that older addresses are more likely to become inactive.

Well I think that is logical, but it doesn't mean they're all lost. My first coins haven't moved in years since I bought them and likely won't for a very long time and if you see the potential in bitcoin I think others will feel the same. If satoshi is alive I can't see him just abandoning his coins forever either or would like to think he still has access to them at least.
5025  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 21 million not never !!! on: March 29, 2015, 08:27:12 AM
There's no way to tell but it doesn't really matter how many are in circulation but 21 mill is the number that will be mined. I don't think just because they haven't moved means they are lost though as some people will just keep them safe and hold for the long run (though also some coins will naturally be lost or forgotten about too).
5026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did Satoshi managed to stay anonymous? on: March 29, 2015, 08:20:28 AM
Most people on this forum are anonymous to some degree or like to hide their personal deets. I don't think it would be that hard if from the start you wish to remain 100% anon with the right connections (tor/VPNs etc), but I suppose it is easy to slip up somewhere (like DPR) but obviously he hasn't so far.
5027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Under US Pressure Paypal Nukes Mega For Encrypting Files on: March 15, 2015, 09:01:04 AM
PayPal are becoming quite the bastards for doing this sort of stuff (then add on top of that their already rapebastard fees), but I'm actually glad they are doing this along with the credit card companies also refusing to work with them because what better excuse to use bitcoin? Companies like PayPal and Visa etc may just end up shooting themselves in the foot with this behaviour.
5028  Other / Meta / Re: My account was neg trusted by Tomatocage for no good reason. on: March 15, 2015, 08:47:18 AM
Just create a new account, one that doesn't look almost like an existing user. You could have isellaccounts or whatever but you can also just have any other name and still sell accounts so it doesn't have to be related.
5029  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: March 15, 2015, 07:07:18 AM
Yeah, I was disappointed by their loss. I was hoping Chelsea to lose or draw a couple of games and Man City to gain some ground on them to make the title race a bit more exciting but they've very likely thrown away their chances of that now. Chelsea still have a game in hand too. City's performance was poor yesterday and if they play like that at Barca they're going to get destroyed.
5030  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does Tor work out of the box? on: March 15, 2015, 07:03:21 AM
It's slow because it's bouncing the traffic around and that's how you remain anonymous using it. I suggest you read up on how to use it safely by googling for info or watching a YouTube video on it or something.

You should tell that guy. I'm sure he'll join as he was wanting a place so he can post his ref links. I'm not sure if your forum will take off or be very productive though. There's a good reason why we don't allow ref links here as it'll get messy very quickly not to mention redundant as nobody would really click on most of them.
5032  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hiding your identity on: March 15, 2015, 06:52:25 AM
How are you going to hide your identity if you don't use a VPN or tor? Tor is pretty simple to set up and use as well, though browsing via it is obviously a bit slow. If you want to remain anon then there are always going to be a few hoops you have to jump through but that's the price you have to pay for anonymity unfortunately.
5033  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have a question about currency exchange on: March 15, 2015, 06:25:29 AM
I want to 4 bitcoin right, but I don't feel safe doing so. Could I do 1btc at a time with out it being called spam?

Four bitcoin what? Buy/sell four bitcoin? You can use escrow if so but you don't need to post after each bitcoin you receive so I don't know why it would constitute as spam. Most people do the deals through PM anyway so as long as it's not an unsolicited message it won't be spam.
5034  Other / Meta / Re: What did theymos do with 200K? on: March 14, 2015, 07:40:04 PM
All data and forum accounts will be inported and carried over. Would be a bit silly to start afresh.
5035  Other / New forum software / Re: Signature changes on: March 14, 2015, 06:45:19 PM
Ok, I just noticed (very belatedly) that this post is in "new forum software".  Does that imply that these changes aren't being suggested for the smf forum that we're currently using but for the proverbial new software that was going to be installed here two years ago?  Similarly, does this mean that the myth of new forum software isn't actually dead?

It's coming and its development is very much alive and apparently nearly ready. Read the last posts of wangbus for more updates: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=207730;sa=showPosts

It's a general purpose forum that's intended to compete with others. Once the theme engine is in place, we'll be able to get more involvement from the public. For now, you can check out the source. On top of that a beta is being evaluated with the staff at this point so please sit tight.

Last one indicates a beta is being tested.

He already has been banned on this new account (see above). Best just to let this thread die as nobody is gonna buy his sig anyway.
5037  Other / New forum software / Re: Marketplace on: March 14, 2015, 05:23:54 PM
It would be cool to have but I think it may be a bit overkill. There are external ebay-like market sites like cryptothrift and I think this forum should concentrate on being a forum rather than a fully-functioning marketplace and the current Goods section seems ok as it is. I wouldn't be opposed to the idea but I think it would be more hassle than it is worth.
5038  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned For lifetime ? (Special MODS and staff reply Your opinion NEDDED) on: March 14, 2015, 04:27:36 PM
What is your forum name? Did you make any posts outside of your local section? I'm guessing this was the problem but if you post your name others can weigh in but it's usually quite apparent why the ban was justified.

The OP has put a screen-shot which contains his name. He has also been protesting (very loudly) in multiple threads in this section.

Different person. I was talking to muslukcu directly above my post but he either deleted his posts or got nuked.
5039  Other / Meta / Re: Acount avw1982 on: March 14, 2015, 04:26:07 PM
So you may only reply with 4 paragraphs or more? English is not my main language so it's hard to make sentences so they aren't mostly that long. But a ban period for 60 days because of that??

No. You don't have to write four paragraphs but posts need to be constructive or at least have some effort gone into them. You can make short replies occasionally as they can still be relevant, but if your entire post history is full of very short/ few word sentences (which yours are) it's asking for trouble. There may also be other factors in your ban. Did you send any unsolicited messages or have multiple accounts making low quality posts?
5040  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned For lifetime ? (Special MODS and staff reply Your opinion NEDDED) on: March 14, 2015, 03:54:52 PM
bro, of course im posting to general sections also. but all my post are connected to subject. i never send any irrelevant messages. if i will to that, i use off-topic section. but if i post there i dont make spam or irrelevant messages. im very carefull about this.

i cant give my name. but staffs can find it from my ip. or they can me send a pm also about this.

They might be connected to the subject but they could still be short, sloppy or spammy. Lots of off-topic 'irrelevant' messages will get you banned even quicker. And only admins can see that ip info but why can't you share your name? If your posts are fine it shouldn't be a problem but that is your prerogative whether to disclose it or not.
