yeah... how about you let new users only purchase something if they have the amount in their bitmit wallet? I guess that would be the easiest solution
this is actually a good idea and you get to sit on those btcs even longer Wink

So speaking as a customer on BitMit, that would mean I would have to keep bitcoin in my BitMit wallet and that's not something I like to do.  Or I would have to transfer Bitcoin twice to pay for an item.  That would make using BitMit less convenient.

I personally have only made purchases on BitMit, and I like how its setup and I like the process.

But this is just one geeks opinion.

I don't want to keep coins on bitmit either, don't get me wrong. Only accounts younger than 14 days or something should be forced to use this method.

I use bitcoin.de (ref: https://www.bitcoin.de/de/r/vfgk6f ) - however, new accounts have to wait 14 days until they can withdraw BTC from their account.

Sorry that I forgot to reply. So you are mostly facing problems because customers don't know what Bitcoin is and how to pay, right?

Mostly. 4/5 orders cancelled due to the fact that people have no clue what they're supposed to do on the site.

Wow, that's quite high. I see there is a need for counter measures.

5071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: new bitcoin miner 7GH speed on: August 09, 2013, 08:19:09 AM
I am glad it has support for dual HDMI.  I have been saying what is missing from current standalone miners is the ability to connect not just one but two monitors.

LOL Cheesy

nice scam btw

Hello and welcome. It wouldn't be peer to peer trading, but coinbase is also simple to use. I am not sure how quickly they give you the btc you purchase however.

Why couldn't I use peer to peer trading for a moneypak? I was hoping to do something like this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270256.0 and am willing to go first with reputable sellers?

it's very risky without escrow tbh...

and welcome here Smiley

5078  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lavabit closes down on: August 08, 2013, 07:44:07 PM
Does anybody know a good alternative for Lavabit?

I'd like a free (or cheap Bitcoin-paid  Cool ) e-mail service which is
* reliable (running for at least a couple of years with very little downtime)
* has reasonable support
* is dedicated to privacy
* has no ties to the United States
* is preferably operated by people who are part of geek / free software / crypto culture
* has preferably only a low level of advertisement annoyance

I don't think there is one. Use PGP, so you don't have to worry about this kind of things. https://prism-break.org/ is a good site to look for privacy related stuff, btw.
