5061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 14, 2019, 09:47:26 AM
Manchester United today reminded of the Mourinho era: counter-attack goal and a massive defensive wall in the last 15 minutes. Props to De Gea, he was immense today, definitely MOTM (Pogba also had a fantastic game)...though, I feel like if Spurs were a bit more clinical they would've won that game.

Anyways, 2 losses in the last 3 league matches for Tottenham, I said a few weeks ago that they always choke in the 2nd half of the seasons  Roll Eyes

Manchester United Ole created a new record for himself by winning his first 6 matches as the head coach of the club, the last record was for winning 5 matches. I would not call this an entertaining match except for few bits here and there from Manchester United who cleverly decided to defend and frustrate Tottenham. All credit goes to De Gea he’s not a human but a Kryptonion for sure, but I feel Manchester United need defenders immediately.

Ole Gunnar was very lucky that got appointed after Mourinho was sacked. Players wanted to prove that they were not the reason why Manchester United wasn't playing well and efficient all this time. They made some consecutive wins that were finally credited to Solskjaer's (I don't know if i typed it correctly, sorry  Cheesy ) management. The team needs new signs in many positions in the defense and in the center.
5062  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto replacing fiat? on: January 14, 2019, 09:18:07 AM
experts have agreed with this, that crypto is not suitable and has not qualified as a payment currency.
It is not that it is not qualified but it is not just suitable to be a payment method.

Bitcoin is known for its volatility and we all know, obviously, that it is a decentralized cryptocurrency. In our country, Bitcoin is known to be a cryptocurrency that must be avoided since it is a scam, that is the identity of Bitcoin to them not knowing that these scammers are just using Bitcoin as an escape to their plans, scammers nowadays are really crafty. That is another reason why Crypto will not replace Fiat, well the common is the most obvious.

It is different to say that Crypto is not suitable to be a payment method and then talk about Bitcoin. At this period of time that we are talking, I agree that Bitcoin is not suitable to be a payment method and it is more like a digital asset to store value. This happens because of the features of Bitcoin right now and the low transactions per second, but nobody knows how this project is going to evolve during the years. Also, there are more cryptocurrencies that offer the chance to use them as a payment method, so you can't say "crypto is not suitable".
5063  Economy / Economics / Re: why are you sure the bitcoin will be make economic freedom? on: January 14, 2019, 09:05:02 AM
lately, I found most articles the Bitcoin can make the economy more freedom and it will replace traditional financial institutions like banks etc. but what I have seen in the last few years is almost all of the cryptocurrency controlled by the crypto exchange and some related industries about blockchain, so this what is called freedom (most people only think they can print money easily and quickly) ?

Cryptos are finite and they aren't controlled by any exchange. The economic freedom can come with the advent of cryptocurrencies due to the fact that people can make transactions in just a few seconds even when they are in different countries or even in different continents. There are many sanctions between countries that they have imposed them as punishment. Cryptocurrencies can cancel these sanctions, thus no impact can happen in the citizens of these countries.
5064  Economy / Economics / Re: On Bitcoin as money on: January 14, 2019, 08:54:36 AM
Many authors often claim that the concept of money is not something which an average Joe can easily understand, that it is too complex to explain in a few words, or anything to that tune. I'm strongly inclined to think that the message here is that people should not ask questions as to the veracity, validity and value of arguments allegedly proving that Bitcoin is not money and cannot become money, ever

The truth is that money, conceptually, is a very simple construct, which can be explained in a couple words. Basically, it is a nondimensional system of measuring value of things with some arbitrary point of reference. Nondimensional here means that it doesn't have any particular unit of measurement attached (like kilo, meter, or anything from physical world). In short, it is the forms of money where things get truly complicated

And there is nothing which could conceptually prevent Bitcoin from being a "Turing-complete" form of money

Money is something that the society has agreed that can be exchanged in order to get an item. If it is widely accepted as a way of payment then this makes it "money". I think this is the main reason why people say that bitcoin is not money. They support that it is a digital asset because you can store value in it and keep it as an investment.
5065  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession effects on Crypto: How to plan your investment portfolio on: January 12, 2019, 05:27:56 PM
When economists predict upcoming recession, now is the best time to plan your investment portfolio and analyze how recession might impact cryptocurrencies. Here’s an article how portfolio could be diversified for the upcoming market crash:

https://www.signalshunt.com/recession-effects-on-crypto

Still financial institutions would not support cryptocurrencies. They will again try to implement austerity measures and try to stop the flow of money. I think that if a recession might happen it will be the time when bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will be on the point of talks. People will think that the solution of recession and eventually inflation is bitcoin due to its features that are against these economic trends.
5066  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash? on: January 12, 2019, 05:24:13 PM
It is a bit hard to figure out what will really happen to Bitcoin price.

We could find an answer if someone could stitch these together.

  • Gold price when crisis happen
  • China's economy is already in a bear market for a long time, will they see a bull?
  • World economy just hit an all-time high
  • Crypto has not seen a 10yr cycle yet
  • Satoshi started Bitcoin to avoid melt-downs

What do you guys think will happen and why?

If that would be the case I think that bitcoin and the whole cryptoccurencies prices are going to rise immediately. I think that a lot of people will start searching for other ways of storing the value of their money and one of them could be investing in bitcoin. Personally, I hope to see a collapse and see the impacts of it on the supply and demand of bitcoin. I think that the next time we will face a global economic crisis will be the milestone of BTC mooning.
5067  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about crypto currency issued by the government? on: January 11, 2019, 07:18:54 PM
When many country want to created their own crypto is very good ideas, but they have connection with bitcoin and blockchain, they could created some thing without have connection with bitcoin.

Why should it be connected with bitcoin? It will be a supplementary (maybe) cryptocurrency to bitcoin but I can't find a reason why they should be connected. And I really don't like the idea of different cryptos as this returns us to the same base as does fiat right now.
5068  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is the richest person? on: January 11, 2019, 07:12:53 PM
Jeff Bezos is only a person who stands on the show window. He is making business in accordance with regulations because of the sector his firms work. There are richer persons who makes illegal business and has bigger capital than Bezos, especially some families.

After the "hot topic" of Jeff Bezos' divorce, his wealth is going to shrink significantly. I think he will be still at the top of the list of the richest people in the world but I think that this divorce is going to have a bad impact on his accumulated money that he holds.
5069  Economy / Economics / Re: Low demand for gasoline on: January 11, 2019, 11:26:16 AM
That would be good for us, gasoline in our country is not cheap so it will help people to save on their expenses.
I have a car and I will benefit from this, I hope it will continue to go down, but on the other side, it will increase the traffic in our country.

It is a double-edged sword. I don't think that the price will go too low. The supply is going to be decreased as well in order that demand and supply are going to be crossed. So you don't have to worry about your traffic in your country. It will be still low because the gas price is going to be kind of the same as it is now.
5070  Economy / Economics / Re: Notable Bitcoin Critic Claims Price Likely to Hit $5,000 In Near Future on: January 11, 2019, 11:19:53 AM
How do you respond to comments made by Bitcoin critic Jeffrey Gundlach, CEO of DoubleLine management. He estimates that Bitcoin can reach $ 5,000 in the near future. Gundlach notes that investors who have a high tolerance for risk can make easy profits if they want to trade Bitcoin.

The question: is it true that currently Bitcoin has changed with fairly competitive volatility ...?

Source: https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/01/11/notable-bitcoin-critic-claims-price-likely-to-hit-5000-in-near-future/

That estimation is not that far from the current bitcoin price. I believe that it can hit 5k easily and maybe a little bit more in the second quarter of 2019.
It needs just a stimulus to do so (I don't know what this may be). I think that by the end of 2019 (which is still a short-term estimate) Bitcoin price is going to soar near $ 10,000. It is just my feeling though I cannot relate it to any news.
5071  Economy / Economics / Re: How to wake up a bear? on: January 11, 2019, 10:56:33 AM
Friends, what are you doing now, when the market situation continues to deteriorate, in your opinion how to take advantage of such a serious decline in order to win at least something? Did you manage to wake up the bear and get at least a small profit? Have you bought any coins in the hope of growth in the new year? I  am only waiting for the market to wake up.

I didn't buy crypto when the prices were at their high. I just worked and made tasks that paid in crypto. This way, the downturn of the market hasn't made a considerable impact on me. Of course, the value of the crypto that I own has dropped very much but I don't feel so sad because still what I have it is a profit for me.
During a bear market, you can still buy more coins taking advantage of the low price and reduce your losses/gain more profits in a long-term period.
5072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you still continue? on: January 11, 2019, 10:51:27 AM
Don't bet if you really can't take it anymore and consider yourself going broke if you don't control your behavior into gambling. Having bad times are sure in gambling but have a bad day with a very small amount of losses and don't spend important budget.

That's why need to be responsible when gambling. Just bring enough money in your wallet and leave all your cards in the house. I have been in that situation before and it's really hard to get out and the psychological pressure will really hurt you specially if you don't have the money to pay the bills because you lost everything.
Well, the situation is different in online gambling where all our funds are just there and ready to be used in gambling. Being a responsible gambling can take you out on a big risk, so let's be more like this and yes don't ever gamble without your own money, don't use debt money for gambling because you will suffer more on that later on. If you lose already, don't continue anymore i know its hard but you have to do t hat.

That's the trap with online casinos! You can directly deposit your money in just a few seconds... I think this is the reason why people have been more addicted during the past years with the advent of internet banking services and cryptocurrencies. The best solution for me is to credit a debit card with the amount of money that you are not afraid of losing and then just stop playing...
5073  Economy / Economics / Re: HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT BULL RUN 2019 on: January 11, 2019, 10:42:46 AM
To prepare for the bull run in 2019, research well and invest in project with good past record and with a working  product, ensure Bitcoin is saved as part of your portfolio, Do not wait for the bull run to commence before you invest, take advantage of the moment.

If a project has a great past record and a good working product then this may sustain the bear market and still show up in a market downturn. People still search for investment opportunities during a bear market as well. So, instead of finding an already working product the point if to find a new star that it is going to penetrate the crypto markets and increase significantly in value from the start of its operation.
5074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing casino games online a good idea? on: January 11, 2019, 10:33:27 AM
Very few gamblers now are actually gambling for fun. I can say that I'm gambling for fun and spends few satoshi's that I want but there are times that I'm losing my control and just crave to gamble for bigger amount.

Playing/gambling online can be the cure to those people that are going through a depression and anxiety. It's a good idea for them but if not moderated, monitored and controlled it will result to a very bad ending.

Gambling helps a lot if someone feels depressed or lonely. Indeed, measures need to be taken in order to avoid bad results that may end up in a worse situation than depression. From my personal experience, I just play small portions in my bets in order to have a longer period of playing gambling games and having fun and I take over my difficult situations.
5075  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it good to recruit other person to join Blockchain technology? on: January 11, 2019, 09:53:43 AM
I did that last year and I must say that the experience is not a palatable one.
I introduced blockchain to some of my friends and siblings.
They invested heavily based on my call.
But the market condition has made a mess of my good intentions.
They do not even want to speak with me again because of the money they lost.

You were a victim of the hype. Still, you have maybe introduced them blockchain and make them believe that they can make huge profits from it which is partially wrong. Your intention should be to let them know about the innovative technology that blockchain embraces. Given that, they should invest when they truly believe about it and buy a coin that they have read about its features. This would be their call and not yours after all.
5076  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Searching Trading Effective strategy on: January 10, 2019, 11:54:03 AM
Crypto markets are very special and you need also some luck in order to be profitable. Before I trade any pair I have a look at the recent updates, news or some potential actions that the team is going to make in the future. I usually buy at the rumors and sell at the news, this way I keep my portfolio profitable. It is up to you when you feel ready to sell and try not to be emotional with your decisions.
5077  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to invest bitcoins on: January 10, 2019, 11:51:07 AM
I have got a few spare bitcoins. Please suggest a trustworthy site where I can invest them for some profit.
Edit: A lot of posts here are about reminding me to keep holding bitcoin and it is itself an investment. I agree with this but what I meant to ask was the ways to grow my bitcoin holdings. For example, If I have 1 BTC today and I do nothing with it, it will remain 1BTC after 10 years. I wanted to know if there were any legit ways by which we could get profits on our existing bitcoin holdings.

If you are a trader then you should try selling and buyback Bitcoin in order to take advantage of the market fluctuations. There is another option though, you can gamble on a casino (this is not the best way to invest because you might end up owing nothing and lose all your investment) or there are some casinos I think which you invest on them and you somehow become the House. I am not sure if this still exist but I heard of someone in a conference that this is his shot of investing his cryptos.
5078  Economy / Economics / Re: If the stocks market will crash again like 2008, what will happen to bitcoin on: January 10, 2019, 11:39:44 AM
Whenever the stock market crashes they switch to gold instead as a form of safety. However, there might be a new form of gold in the way of bitcoin. This is going to be the preferred choice, better gains and easier to spend when needed

People will turn to gold because this is what they know. But they will also turn to digital gold (Bitcoin). New generations are more exposed to cryptocurrencies and they know exactly how they work.
If a crash ever happens, this generation will be mature enough to "blacklist" gold and store they money by investing in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
5079  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin even work in our current system? on: January 10, 2019, 11:14:50 AM
If the world can only use Bitcoin as a payment method, then this can lead to war because the amount of Bitcoin is not enough to support the use of the world.

Not true. Why it can't? Items and services will just have a price of 0.000x. Everything can be valued accordingly with Bitcoin as it happens with fiat money. The only problem right now is scalability but any chain if going to be improved in the future as new ideas are dropped in the table from developers.
5080  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Market Stable at $137 Billion as TRON Surges 7%, Still Bear-Biased? on: January 10, 2019, 11:04:25 AM
I am not sure if Constantinople fork can directly affect the price of Ethereum as it is a consensus fork, thus if we are to see any improvement in ETH value, it will be probably be seen after some days/weeks of the implementation of the fork.

With regards to TRON, the community is going huge steps in order to improve the blockchain and try to bring always something innovative that will make TRX the cutting-edge of cryptos. (The recent proof is the proposal 14 for same token TRC10 tokens). Actions are taken at lightning speed and this is why it pushes TRON price high. I think we have still a lot to see from TRON network and I am very excited that I started being part of it before the hype.
