5061  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinsgear on: August 26, 2017, 10:29:14 AM
You should describe what actually happened to you, it may be true but nobody here knows you or has any reason to trust your words. I take it you have lost some money to these people? Your post is quite pointless at the moment, because you may be a shill for a rival company.
5062  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Casascius Bitcoin Bowl Coins (2014) on: August 25, 2017, 03:31:29 PM
-snip-

I had not heard of these. Can you supply more details? Do they have holograms/are they loaded? (can't see any). Do you know how many were produced? If you do sell and the buyer is ok with it, can you let me know the sale price and I will add to the big list. Thanks!

They are fairly well known to most Casascius collectors and they do not have a hologram or private keys. I think it is the only silver coin Mike has made since he was prevented from selling loaded ones. The mintage of these St Petersburg coins is 2,000 - however over half of these were scrapped because he was not happy with the quality.
5063  Economy / Goods / Re: [ WTS ] 20 Gram Gold Bars - 2 In stock $100 each on: August 24, 2017, 11:49:34 AM
These are 99.999% not like the real thing, the subject line is a total lie. It looks like you bought these to try and subtly scam people.
5064  Economy / Goods / Re: $7500 (current BTC value) - 5 acres near Lake Mohave, Arizona on: August 23, 2017, 05:34:55 PM
Just curious, but is it possible for non-USA residents to own this land? I'd love to buy some overseas property, but have a feeling that the law makes it impossible. Are there any plants that would grow in this environment, or is it just a few cactus species?
5065  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitstarz stole 4 bitcoins from me on: August 20, 2017, 10:17:52 AM
What happened::
Bitstarz casino recently just confiscated 4 bitcoins from unjustly and made up stories to justify it I have screenshots and chat transcripts to show how they would treat a player that has been depositing there for 8 months and never cashed out https://m.imgur.com/gallery/tIuw1
Terms weren't made up. And IIRC the KYC term has been there for a good degree of time. Don't deposit if you're not willing to fulfill those obligations.

I think it's pretty stupid entering in fake information with this type of casino. They have all the leverage.

The "Know Your Customer" terminology was created for US based financial institutions. Sketchy offshore casino's only bring it up in situations where they want to keep customer money without having any other justification for it. The normal and correct thing for a business to do, if they are honest, would be to return any money if they cannot honor a commitment to a customer. That being said, if the money was wagered then it becomes a lot more fuzzy. It is hard to have sympathy with gamblers however, as you will always lose long term.
5066  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ethereums.com on: August 19, 2017, 02:30:10 PM
A lot of discussion on the ethereum.com domain name that has a 7 figure bid.

in your opinion how much ethereums.com worths?

I don't think it has much value, maybe registration fee and a bit extra if you are lucky. Most of the interest in cryptocurrencies right now is focused on bitcoin. Besides, I'm pretty sure the plural of Ethereum is Ethereum, so sticking an "s" on the end is quite nonsensical
5067  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is looq.io Token Sale a Scam? on: August 19, 2017, 10:12:02 AM
Yes, they put a good amount of work into making the website clean and pretty. I'm interested in new opportunities in VR, so I almost got hooked into it for a min. Thankfully, the Morhaime "quote" really stood out to me so I did some investigating and came upon lots of red flags.

I hope its not a scam for the contributors sake, but all signs point to it being one.

Yes, be very careful with your money online or you will lose it. You should always assume there is only one person behind a website like that until you can really prove otherwise. The 6 images on that website representing "staff" could be lifted off any website from Facebook to hairdresser portfolios, there is no verification that they actually work there.
5068  Other / Off-topic / BitcoinTalk on the BBC on: August 19, 2017, 10:03:33 AM
I was just watching this clip on the BBC:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/magazine-40977474/silk-road-google-search-unmasked-dread-pirate-roberts

And noticed that around 1 minute 44 seconds there are clips of the bitcointalk forum, apparently this is how the FBI first found out about the Silk Road operator at the time. Funny how it grew from this place and was eventually closed down because of this forum Smiley
5069  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Luckygames vs GeVP on: August 19, 2017, 09:09:38 AM
The player didn't cheat, you just had a poorly designed game which leaked all your money away. You apparently cannot be trusted with any players money. If you wanted to make large changes to the profitability of a game and the algorithms behind it, you should have announced it in advance. You found this person was taking money out of your site and laid a trap to take all the funds from their account.
5070  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could North Korea really survive if the United States will fire on them? on: August 19, 2017, 09:02:19 AM
A more interesting question might be, can the world really survive if the United States fired upon North Korea? It would likely set off a runway train that would be hard to get back under control. What happens when the nuclear winds spread into China? Or the conventional weapons wreaking havoc on South Korea before they can be destroyed? How many nukes would the USA want to use, one on Pyongyang or many spread across the country? There are too many variables, but millions of people would die. Unfortunately North Korea seems intent on suicide.
5071  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Steve Bannon Fired on: August 19, 2017, 08:58:08 AM
It's funny how people wanted a businessman to sort all the rot out within government. Except the exact opposite seemed to happen, the policies got worse and Trump can't even pick out a side to support when it comes to tricky subjects. You might not have liked Obama but he kept things much more stable and the Affordable Healthcare Act was a genuine attempt to implement universal healthcare. I can't see the Republicans doing anything helpful right now, they just want to tear down the progress that was made and waste everyones time.
5072  Other / Politics & Society / Re: National interests of Russia on: August 19, 2017, 08:53:07 AM
"if your neighbor is Russia, then you can be either a vassal or an enemy"

Like any bully, this is true until you are equally matched. I feel bad for countries like Kazakhstan which are not really strong enough to avoid the corruption and are economically weaker. They will be a vassal. However countries in Europe and mainly NATO are relatively well protected, an attack on one is an attack on all. I liked Russia up until 10 years ago, Putin was doing well but has turned back to targeting minorities and oppressing freedoms as distraction techniques.
5073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fake Coins, Is there a list of current fake coins? on: August 19, 2017, 08:39:35 AM
Is there a current list of Fake coins out there?

What do you mean by fake coins? If you have trouble figuring out this yourself, you should avoid investing in anything besides bitcoin. There are thousands of "altcoins" out there and it would be impossible to list them all accurately. Have a browse through the scams section and you'll see a dozen  reports on them just this week.
5074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does every mainstream media article on Bitcoin end in negativity? on: August 19, 2017, 08:36:29 AM
I can imagine a lot of journalist's have heard about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their time. It's likely they heard about it years ago and are upset that they missed the boat. It is always good to be skeptical so including negative viewpoints is helpful, bitcoin has shot up massively recently and could quite easily be in a bubble.
5075  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT: Etctrade on: August 19, 2017, 08:24:43 AM
They probably are scammers judging from that awful fake interview video they have on the homepage. You can tell it was set up by a marketer because it is full of meaningless buzzwords, at least the ones you can understand from the slurred words. Good find.
5076  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is looq.io Token Sale a Scam? on: August 19, 2017, 08:21:20 AM
Light details in whitepaper. Inconsistent statements on minimum funding target.  No evidence Mike Morhaime made the quote on the website. No evidence of Steam, Unity, Oculus partnerships. Odd transactions on Etherscan from newly made addresses within the same minute. No posts on their blog. No LinkedIn links on the website for the team. A LinkedIn search turned up nothing on the Ivy League team.

Edit: Regarding the annoucement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2069855.0 Why would rwessels use his own personal account to make the announcement? His last posts were in 2014. Who is Hung_Daddy and why does he keep bumping the thread with stupid questions and editing his posts constantly?

It looks like a typical "ICO" scam but they have put some time into it. If you want to save yourself this hassle in future, you're better off avoiding altcoin trading altogether and stick to a handful of the main cryptocoins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, etc. It's amazing how many people fall for these scams thanks to a few big words and "Whitepaper" plastered all over the site.

5078  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] One of a Kind "War of the Worlds" 1953 Poster From Estate of Bruce Willis on: August 13, 2017, 09:36:18 AM
That is one hell of a poster! I love everything about it including the providence. I'm certain that whoever get's to own this piece can consider themselves lucky! I'll keep a close eye on this one Smiley.
Yea it truly is a remarkable piece. One just needs a wall / space large enough to display it. It got tons of attention wherever he had it displayed. It's most certainly a centerpiece.

I figured he may get some attention here with the price of BTC. The poster will likely fetch well above the start price of $27,000, but there are auction fees/etc.

I told him a year ago no one would likely spend 100 BTC on it, but today; at $3800 per BTC, it can be had for just 7.12 BTC.

Amazing how the price of BTC has made thing affordable in terms of "BTC" lol.

I'd love it, but my walls aren't big enough lol.

Cheers!

Strato

Nice poster, I think only the mega rich can afford it though. I always thought "From the estate" is a term that you use when referring to somebody when they are dead and are winding down their will. Bit confused why you would take it out of the frame and roll it up, when you've spent extra money on it.
5079  Economy / Goods / Re: USB Rubber Ducky - For SALE on: August 06, 2017, 09:04:13 AM
I was hoping this was an actual rubber ducky USB instead of a plain old USB stick with a rubber ducky sticker on it. Much disappointed and this is way overpriced.
5080  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest Check] Complete Set of Ravenbit Brass Colors on: July 28, 2017, 10:08:25 PM
I hate to break in on it this way, but I only see 5 rounds here... there's 7 in a full set - grey, yellow, green, blue, violet, red and orange.  Do you have the blue and violet ones also?  If so then I'm also watching this intently.

And, anyone happen to have a violet one they'd be willing to sell? There's a few floating around and hoping someone has an extra they'd be willing to part with.

From what I remember, the violet and blue were only part of the bronze set. You can see the original brass node sales thread here:

Thank you for the offer DebitMe, it's helpful to get an idea of what buyers will pay at the moment
