5061  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: September 07, 2020, 09:22:03 PM
The 1000 watt psu came today - currently running two R606's and 1 Apollo off of it - and still enough power for when Sidehack gets that 500 watt miner done...

Which 500watt miner by sidehack are you referring to if you don't mind me asking. I am new to this type of hack of asics and would like to know if it is better than these terminus R606.

5062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Experiment: A documentary about how real world is on a death spiral on: September 07, 2020, 05:24:38 PM
I realize they like to have lots of views and lots effects, but this could've been a few paragraphs of writing or condensed down into a few minutes.  I'm sure they mean well, but for heaven's sake, get to the point.

They need a TLDW at the start.
Uh, what paragraph?
It's a watchable video and not just a website to read about it from.

Will be watching this when I have VPN. But mostly we will hear the same thing as before about the topics involving Fiat currencies and how Bitcoin can be the solution for the upcoming financial crisis. Well we have seen it before during March of 2020 where even all of the markets are down including the crypto market Bitcoin was the first one to recover and it is pushing up right now. We can actually say that Bitcoin can be a good option when it comes to situation like this as fiat will definitely be affected everytime their is a economic crisis going on.

Couldn't watch it here(without VPN) unfortunately...Says "This Video not available".

Anyway, people should always remember that it's  one of Bitcoin important features: Deflation (which some campaigned against in the recent past) that is mostly keeping things from getting devalued. Imagine if majority had chickened out after massive and continuous campaign against its deflationary feature. I strongly believe that all of its other important features play (or would play) a good role in keeping Bitcoin safe. They should be strengthen not weakened...Though I'm in favour of a better regulated supply to keep volatility moderate and with some predictability.

Yeah unfortunately youtube is not allowing some of their content they are streaming to every user so it is in a sense a centralized system in itself.
Just becareful when you are choosing which vpn service to go with.
Most if not all which are cheaply available and more than likely the ones offered for free will be using your data while you are behind their service walls for their own purposes.
Just be cybersecurity aware and go with a paid-service which have good feedback from their users on sites such as trustpilot or trustedreview.

Congrats to you buwaytress bruvh. Wink

I did know there would be two draws just picked the wrong damn teams is all. Cheesy
Russia was almost a draw with two goals in the second half but never would of thought germany would be one of them.
Spain just destroyed in their game.
I had 7 correctly picked going in to the final day so thought I would of had atleast 10 correct.
Because with these games there weren't any real upsets which usually occur during the competitions. Undecided

I received an email from a casino or exchange just a few of days ago displaying the chainlink logo saying they are starting to accept link on their platforms.
I literally threw up a little in my mouth after reading this.
Straight to the trash can folder it went. Roll Eyes
I don't know why these marketing teams think everyone would be or want to be holding on this token.
It is just a pipedream just like the defi craze with their yammy yams and sushiy shue. Grin

Not hot anymore, isn't it?
Why do you think this is happening?
Its all FOMO. Like you have already said. The Defi craze is like the ICO hype back in 2017. People sees the green candles, daily gains of +100% and more and don't want to miss this race. BUt at this moment, it seems the race is over and we can move to serious projects.

Hotdog's chart also looks like an image of a hot dog. Cheesy

When I look at all defi charts they all look like a hotdog to be honest. Embarrassed

They are hot at first then they just fizzle and die eventually with no real sustainable evidence to make sense what is to back it.
This has been proven time and time again with one coming out every couple of days.

Boston just got messed up with 0.5 seconds left when Toronto let a buzzer beating three pointer go to beat them 104-103.
That was an unbelievable ending. Shocked
If you haven't seen it I would suggest you watch the highlights tonight on you local sports channel or watch it on youtube.
Boston looked to close it out by doing a last second pass for Theis to dunk it. Toronto from the side passed it cross court to the other end of the three point line. There was barely anytime left to set and shoot. But Anunoby did it to prevail by saving them from going down three games.
Just rare shot to save them from going three and zero. So the last season champions are still alive because I don't think any team has comeback in the playoffs by going down by three games in a row.
Very exciting game and just checked the total points scored after the LA game ended..

424 total points so close enough to win this one. Just off by 1 point. Undecided
5068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 03, 2020, 06:26:02 PM
It was the second raid on a korean exchange within a few months apart from each other.
"In late August, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency reportedly raided and seized the operations of Coinbit, the country’s third-largest cryptocurrency exchange. The exchange is allegedly involved in generating an income of $85 million from market manipulation."

These tokens seem to be nothing but trouble towards every cryptocurrency out there. Because they can be used for moving large amounts of money so easily without any trace. Just put all your ethereum or bitcoin into a smart contract for these tokens and there is no way of authorities would know where they came from.
"As reported, the latest checks are purportedly connected with an ongoing police investigation involving Lee Jung Hoon, chairman of board at Bithumb Korea and Bithumb Holdings.
The executive has reportedly been under investigation for alleged economic fraud involving the token known as BXA. The token was purportedly promoted as Bithumb’s native token that eventually turned out to be involved in high scale fraud that caused investor damages of 30 billion won ($25 million)."

source:https://cointelegraph.com/news/seoul-police-reportedly-investigating-korea-s-largest-crypto-exchange-bithumb

I think this is the reason for these seizures from South Korean police because they have seen money laundering going on and have tracked it down to this BXA token as mentioned in the above article.
5069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 03, 2020, 04:49:22 PM
So does this seizure mean that they will have to shut down their operation and mining facilities indefinitely?
This does not bode well for bitcoin in the slightest because they hold alot of their customer's cryptocurrenies on their exchange as well. Roll Eyes
5070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sergey Nazarov has created a monster & it is dragging all of crypto down with it on: September 03, 2020, 04:46:51 PM
This DeFi craze has probably caused this major 5.8% drop in the bitcoin price in less than 24 hours.

I actually ended up with 7 correct, after a horrendous 1 out of 5 picks, how bout that eh?

I also got 5 correct (at least better than the previous MM)  Cheesy

England might wobble (if you think the Maquire incident will have an impact, and English teams usually can't escape some kind of scandal haha).

Maguire is really a horrible player. His defending has been shit for Manchester United and I really ask myself to date why they spent so much in that player. He even isn't really worth above 20m Euro. I hardly think his absence would be felt in this upcoming match against Iceland but Iceland are also capable of upsetting big teams.

Didn't they name Maguire as Manchester United's new captain last week? Undecided
I don't like him either and now as their head player Cheesy I can't see much love for them in the coming season.
Pogba was diagnosed with having covid last week too, so don't expect him to be joining the squad for the first couple of games to the start of the new season in a few weeks.

Here are my predictions for this week's multimaster I put in early today. Only two draws so will see how that goes. Roll Eyes

I think there was a tie since the total points scored in both matches were 436.
And there were predictions of 434 and 438 so they were both 2 points off the score.
Strange. Undecided

Just looked at the lineups of the different categories of sports to choose from but was wanting to know something.
Why is there not any selections for the US Open to choose from? Undecided
Keeps saying markets not available or something along those lines for both the ATP and WTA US open markets.
Only thing thats available in the category is 'Who will win the US Open' special & ;'Do you think Djokovic will win the title this year?' Embarrassed

5078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fees on: September 02, 2020, 10:28:14 AM
Blame it on those defi projects getting their users to make transactions on the ethereum blockchain.
Just look at LNK and what mess it has put their chain in and not to forget about that YAM scam project. Roll Eyes
These exchanges which use these ethereum based assets to "swap" are causing the gas fees per transaction to go up.
I read an article recently about how they skyrocketted to over $500mln in just one day alone. Embarrassed

Are they playing in a bubble like the NBA are? After watching a few matches I noticed some familiar faces in the stands cheering on their fellow tennis players.

Looks like the new multimasters is up come have some fun with seeing some of our predictions on the promotion thread:

5080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: September 02, 2020, 10:11:26 AM
Damn! That was some hardcore defensive game from Utah and Denver.
Is this a new record of the lowest scoring playoffs game 7?  Cheesy
Not sure but I won my bet on the under.
The line looks very strange, they are a high scoring team but the total was only 217, so I took the under and it was an easy win.

1st half was all Murray. 3rd quarter was all Donovan. 4th was some post-up big man game from Gobert and Jokic.
I had so much fun watching them.
Congratulations to the winners.

It's indeed a great game, no matter what team we bet that time, that's a lot of fun because they gave their best and games was only won by 2 points, if that last shot by conley didn't rim out, Jazz would be in the story now.
Got this to score and it was an easy one.

Waited until the first half was done to see what the lines were. The under did look like it would be a good bet to place since the Jazz were at 36 points and not getting past 95-96 for sure.
The way Mitchell was playing he only scored something like 6 points. But then started waking up in the 3rd quarter where he scored 18 of the Utah's 24.
I don't know why they decided to give the last shot to Conley and not Donovan. Undecided
