How many U3s can the router manage without a powered hub?

I did 3 with a very cheap usb 2.0 hub and it had no problems at all.  Not sure what is highest it's been pushed to.

Also with it having external power I don't think powered/non-powered have near as much effect as a miner such as stick miners that run off usb juice.

That's good to know. Looks like I'll be snapping up some cheap ones if I see them then Smiley
I'm amazed that a tiny router like the U3 can be linked to 3 u3s without a powered hub. This information will be useful, because i'm tired of my u3s going zombie every few hours on my rpi. It's like cheap christmas lights: One goes out, they all go out. Not literally, but it kills my pay on nicehash.
U3s are great miners, and it's pretty unbelievable that they can support 4 bm1382/bm1384 with a tiny 92mm fan. I'm looking for more from bitmain, and if they don't deliver, i'm looking at sidehack for the next gen miners. Smiley
So far it looks like the U3 won't be getting a better chip, and I bet the U4 will never come out.

you know you can make a watchdog script on your rpi to check if the u3 went offline and have it run every few minutes..

My face just went blank. Can you pm me an example of that? Sounds really interesting and i've never heard of stuff like that. Can't script well either. It would be really helpful if you'd link me to something like that, thanks. Smiley I had no idea stuff like this even existed.. I've thought about it before, but I can't write crap so I just forgot.
5062  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many signatory campaign can a member sign up for on: March 09, 2016, 11:29:57 PM
hello im just new here too Smiley
greetings, do you have any campaign for newbie start to earn some free btc
Here's a link to some of the faucets https://faucetbox.com/en/list this should do for now.Instead of spamming the forum forcefully for few satoshi's ,use the faucets ,a better option and less work. There are no campaigns for newbies, the one that exist pay  as much as the faucets do.
It's actually sad that no campaign pays more for a newbie in a week than faucets in a week.
Even as a Jr.Member you get paid sometimes 3X more than a newbie. It's sad, but because of spammers here we are. IMO newbies deserve more opportunities to esrn, and once given that opportunity, spamming should be enforced more. There are good people that are newbies out there, and they deserve some bitcoin for their two cents. In this case, the bad ruined it for the majority and we're at a point where newbies get paid dust. Nobody really seems to care about them, and they just get forgotten under higher rank people.
5063  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 09, 2016, 11:22:38 PM
Oh and you should switch to kano.s, it's a much better pool.
 Grin

I have my main hash on Kano and my Compac's and such on Bitminter.  By the way, the are a lot of pools that have payouts equal to or greater than Kano (except the last few days which have been crazy lucky).   Cheesy
I know this is going to start a firestorm but... Eclipse Ming Consortium https://eclipsemc.com/ is excellent. Leaving the BFL matters aside, they have been rock-solid for me since  started mining back in Feb. 2014

They have always been a small pool, current hashrate is 907THs. Yes their PPS plan charges 5% but - you get paid no matter how long it takes them to crack a block even if it turns out stale or invalid. Hash rate applied is revised every 15min with the new rate immediately applied to your work with full new hash rate being shown in 1hr. No '5n windup'. If you have an EMC account, payment is upon the kitty hitting your chosen payout trigger, in my case every 0.2 BTC.

Kano and Antpool are PPLNS meaning you are paid by average hashrate covering 5n shifts with payment only after the found block(s) mature.I have ran comparisons with them against Kano and Antpool a couple months ago and looking at payouts once the PPLNS windup is over, given 2 weeks or more run time on the pools EMC has ALWAYS come out ahead by ~ 5%.

However, as  kilo mentioned, Kano has been doing exceptionally well for the past couple weeks. Right now I have ~71TH pointed there and will be doing another spread sheet on the long-term results vs EMC again.
That's quite interesting. I LOVE PPS pools, and generally to satisfy that need I go to antpool with their 10-minute blocktimes and low payouts. Lel. I tried eclipsemc for a while and it works well. I tried with a Block Erupter rig at 5gh/s and for some reason no shares were accepted on pps. I got 90 shares but after an hour none were on the website. I tried with a S1 that I keep just for pooltesting and each share was up, accepted, on the mark. Great pool, hates my block erupter but still a better pool than antpool... Just cause. Smiley
I really dunno about payouts, but to my surprise the payments were nearly equal to my combined antpool payments. Mind. Blown.
I guess kano is no longer such a small pool, and I'll keep about 50gh/s on it with loadbalancing on my s3. It deserves attention, and i'll see that it gets it.
5064  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 09, 2016, 11:17:23 PM
I used to use bitminter when I had only a few block erupter an antminer U2.

I was starting and their java UI was fun and nice.
Then I upgraded to U3 but the java UI doesn't support them.

So I gave up, and used my miner for science (Bitcoin Utopia).

After some time I came back to mining (thanks to gekkoscience compac sticks) and had to learn cgminer and stuff.

I found that kano's pool was simple, efficient and with excellent support.

I just can't find the same amount and level of info on Bitminter's website or thread here (609pages vs 46).

But hey, I'm not saying it bad or anything. I'm very happy where I am with my 2.5Ths (soon 3.5).

I can't see a much better paying pool as kano's fees are prob the lowest....
Kano is a great pool. They have insane luck and only every few weeks do they have problems with finding blocks. Their fees are so low it's incredible that it stays up. I only have 1 compac stick that I just got, and I love it! Best share after 2 days is 30G, and i'm looking for a block within a year. Plus, it runs on cgminer so I don't have to look at some pesky Antminer control panel with no access to cgminer logs or gui. 9/10

5066  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] CSGO Skins on: March 09, 2016, 10:30:16 PM
Bump. I really need those skins...!
I COULD always buy from a website like opskins, but I believe the bitcointalk community has the chance to stand up to a bigger competitor.
I believe in you guys.. Cmon! 85% Market price now. Anything to support this awesome community of ours.
I will still only pay 5$ for operation passes. I really need them, so feel free to make any offers as long as they are under 6$.

Are there any spots left? I think I have good enough post quality to join, and I don't spam. Probably 1 out of every 30 posts I make are one-liners now, and those are actually necessary. Most of the time. :c
5068  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: March 09, 2016, 12:58:05 PM
Lets say I want to buy bitcoins today and store them for 20 years to use a my retirement fund.  Live comfortably, but don't need to buy a yacht or anything.  How many do you think I would need to buy?
then buy millions of bitcoin. because no one know that after 20 years. what will  happen bitcoin. may it will disapear or not worth a single pinny.
Of course by buying that much btc, you will pump the price on exchanges and make bitcoin worth more. Most currencies are volatile, but the markets of bitcoin is that x9001.
It's a make or break market, and with the current trends bitcoin is going to stay at 300$ for a while with my current estimates. I'm way off most of the time so don't take it to heart ;c
5069  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many signatory campaign can a member sign up for on: March 09, 2016, 12:51:23 PM
It's basically pointless for someone to join a signature campaign as a newbie because you can only post once every 360 seconds. By then somebody else could have posted on something you wanted to post about.
It looks like all campaigns for newbies pay less than 0.0001 btc per post, and for that, in a day you could earn a crusty donut and a penny.
Of course all people will eventually rank up so it's still a good idea and pays more than a faucet.
To give you an idea, 777coin pays newbies 0.000045 per post, 100 max per week, which comes out to about 0.0045 max per week. That's 1.85$ at the current exchange rate.
And that doesn't count the 360 seconds inbetween posts.
5070  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happened to Muhammed Zakir ? on: March 09, 2016, 12:46:42 PM
He stole 0.16 BTC by defaulting on a loan with chronicsky back in September. Someone claimed a month or so ago that MZ would be back soon to pay the loan, but he hasn't been back.
And he is still in default trust list ..
Level 3, which no one possibly uses
Level 3 DT is still DT..

Level 3 DT is no more DT than level 13 DT is.
Wait a second.. There's more than 4 levels of DT? Dang, I might actually be on DT after all Cheesy Only thing left to do is to get onto DT 4 Cheesy
True, few people use anything less than DT1 because it's default or something.
5071  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: March 09, 2016, 11:55:10 AM
Congratulations yobit..you got all real member here and remove all spammer like me.and those who posted unnecessarily in this thread why they are still active?just bcoz they write longest unnecessary post in your own thread..and yeah we are all spammer bcoz you automated system counts all our posts including thank you,Wellcome etc..and you give tips to your member that they should write 2 lines, whatever the sentence is but must need many character or word.if you fairly check all post manually, you could have many members who are really not a spammer..but congrats..your members getting paid for their bla bla here in this thread also..system are not always right bcoz they run by humans..if humans can check our posts manually, and only count constructive posts then you might be a short list of banned users.anyways, its not our fault..on other signature campaigns, people not getting paid for posting on signature campaign threads, but you pay your member whatever they post here just bcoz they have 2 or 3 lines.huh! Let me tell 1 thing truly, why you pay for members post?just bcoz they post many words or constructive post comment?no ..you pay bcoz they wearing your signature..and you know what..one or 2 simple words still showing your signature, and 500 words also showing your signature..i am not getting paid for this post, but your all stupid members who quoted or commented here in my post, they all get some penny for their lovely effort, just bcoz the rules is post anywhere anything but must be 2 or more line..I know my English is not good just bcoz it's not my language..but I am sure every one can read and understand what i trying to mean..develop your sig software which only counts 2 lined posts..otherwise you never identified the real spammer..good luck

I have checked, and most of your posts are unconstructive. I'm just trying to help people out, but clearly my posts qualify to be paid. If people hadn't pointed out that you'll be kicked if you keep spamming about the button, i'm sure many more people would've been kicked than now. That was required. People like me post much more than 2-3 lines, i've posted a few 10 liners before in just the past week.
The removal system is not automated, and campaign admin checks for spammers every few days. Contact hillariousandco and ask him why you were kicked. You could protest your reason there, but a drama post won't get you anywhere. There had to be a reason, and you may very well know. Now think a bit harder and you'll see why you were kicked.
P.S. all 1-2 liners? really? cmon. You talk about other people doing that when YOU also do. Don't be a hypocrite.
5072  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: diff thread Mar 3 to Mar 17? picks are open.... prize = 0.1 btc on: March 09, 2016, 11:48:52 AM
+2.30
Nuff said, i'm gonna be head on now
With the current trend beginning to -somewhat- slow down, my conservative 2.30 should be my best prediction yet. You just watch me win. There is NO WAY we will go negative unless some miracle happens. A terrible miracle that would be incredibly cruel.
5073  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lutpin give negative trust without any causes! on: March 08, 2016, 11:33:43 PM
At least I didn't join this forum, buy an account and start off as a hero.
Lutpin you are more abrasive than Mexxer and most others on DT so I was trying to be delicate.  As I said, I've nothing against you and you've done good on the forum.  My only gripe, which is not with you personally, is that anyone can bust scams and bust spam, but it's dealings with bitcoin that make you trusted or not.  In my eyes.  And I confess I'm ignorant of any deals you may have made, so I'll shut up now.
Abrasive? cmon now, it's okay to call people salty. It doesn't take a day to figure out that you're saying Lutpin is salty and you don't trust him.
I don't know lutpin enough to trust or not trust him, but I have a little advice for him:
If anything, I think lutpin should ease back on the "abrasiveness" and be a little calmer. We all should. It's uncomfortable for me to call anybody salty, but I just had to post that. It was too much to resist. Sure, OP was raging and basically raised his middle finger in all of your faces, but being "abrasive" to someone doesn't make a situation better.
BSM is just running out of things to say and he's basically given up on his account and he's basically said screw it, this acc is dead anyways. Better just call people dumb and be salty now.
5074  Economy / Reputation / Re: Douglus should remove cryptodevil from DT due to conflict of interest on: March 08, 2016, 11:25:23 PM
What the OP is saying is pretty indirect. I never even looked at it that way before. It's unlikely, but it could be that way. I have nothing against cryptodevil and I think he's a good person. I don't see why he should be removed from DT, although red trust is something I think people should give less of.
Ponzis are all scams and i'm pretty sure everybody in the gambling section knows that if they know anything about doubling anything. The + to - trust given ratio is pretty out of balance though.. But most of it is correct or partially correct, so cryptodevil's given trust is correct.. for the most part.

Things would be great if we could get a block soon. Smiley
I was wondering the same thing.. lel. Pool luck dies with kano every 50 blocks or so, let's not have a 1-2 day block again. Those kill pool hashrate, and we don't want that, do we? ;c
Kano is still an incredibly awesome paying pool with insane luck, so I dont plan on leaving anytime soon. If anything, I'll add some hashrate in the next few months. One miner a month. So I help the pool grow. Cheesy
5076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how much can junior members earn with sig campaigns, average? on: March 08, 2016, 11:11:48 PM
How many Jr. Member accounts are kicked for spam like posts, should really be the question!
The one you ask has been asked over and over, every one thinks its a open buffet till they get kicked out of the signature.

If you tend to leave one line sentences you can pass on signatures.
It is true that very few jr members do good posts, but there are some that do great posts for their rank. The rest of them that are spammers just kill their reputation. In the past you could join campaigns as a newbie and get paid a decent amount, but now campaigns are so spammed you don't get paid as much. The fact you get paid at all is a privilege, and people take that for granted. If you create accounts just for signature campaigns, and you plan to spam, just sell your account. At least somebody who actually intends to use an account can have it.
Do us all a favor, and don't spam. An innocent account will be ruined because of you. Don't. Please.

What is the highest hash rate this site has seen in the past year?

Looks like it hovers around high 20's to low 30's.

Thanks,
Well I leave the thread at 25PH coz it rarely if ever goes below 25PH

I've seen 35PH-39PH spikes during failovers from another pool.
But failover spikes don't really mean much.

In the last couple of hours it had a spike around 34PH from miners, not a failover.

The rewards page shows the average (share accepted) hash rate over the 5Nd before each block.
The highest there is 31PH
A few short large rental bumps from me and others as well.
I have a rolling self sustaining 200th rental going for about a month now. Did not even realize it had been a month!
Glad to add free TH to the pool! Just needed a little seed money.
This proves how much kano rocks. It pays for its own rental fee.
Yes!
Let's see when that'll end.. Probably in a month. I mean, it has to end. You've probably made no profit from it by now. If you have, congrats. I don't have the guts or the money to do something like that. Cheesy I just run a S3 24/7 for the fun on kano.
5078  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anybody have any information sources explaining bitcoin? on: March 08, 2016, 10:43:33 PM
If you like big news providers giving info, http://money.cnn.com/infographic/technology/what-is-bitcoin/
I would create a guide myself, but I don't have the time to do that right now. Possibly in the future because I understand btc on a middle level. Just enough for now, but possibly as a sr member. Smiley
5079  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] CSGO Skins on: March 08, 2016, 08:58:59 PM
I'm looking for any csgo skin below 10$ market. I'll pay 85% market for a skin. I don't take skins below 1$ value.
I'm also looking especially for Operation Wildfire passes. I'll pay 5$ each for those.
I check prices VIA steamanalyst. I will pay for escrow in this situation. Cheesy

Definitely a good price, I use bitskins as my primary source for keys but as usual, this forum delivers with cheap-ass keys. Smiley Any bulk discounts or anything? I know that I can get keys for 1.80$ each and i'm looking to buy a little more for a discount.
