5081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DISCUSSION: Bitcoin’s Integration with The ICP Blockchain on: June 15, 2022, 01:09:54 PM
A customer service representative has replied back to my email where I asked them if a developer or other team representative would be interested in taking part in this discussion. They have turned down the offer, saying they are grateful for the interest, bla, bla, but because they get many similar requests from other people they can unfortunately not fulfill them.
5082  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Blacklist] of unreliable, 'taint proclaiming' Bitcoin services / exchanges on: June 15, 2022, 12:09:07 PM
And the carrot-stick guy is the exchanges, and we ain't got nothing to incentivise these people not to use those exchanges.

It takes other (good) exchanges to destroy the rotten ones.
The new (good) ones have to be better than those they are trying to replace. In every sense of the world. If it's a combination of good and bad, most people will just continue using the sites they are comfortable with. Unfortunately, it mostly boils down to how much money/crypto will eventually end up in someone's pocket or wallet. You are not going to get to most people telling them how decentralized exchanges are better and explaining the reasons why that is, when all they see is that the centralized one gives them $50.000/coin, while the best offer on the decentralized one is only $49.200.

Then there is the issue with marketing. Have you ever seen an ad or commercial for Bisq? Me neither. But if you watch sports, you can see centralized exchanges in the biggest sports competitions nowadays. Money buys new customers. Undecided

We have just added a "demo" button on the home page.
It is now possible to see the whole platform without opening an account.
That's much better, thanks.

I am looking at your in-play tennis markets and noticed you don't display the result anywhere. For example, here is a match being played right now: https://app.betfamous.com/cdb/markets/13096343 but we can't see the score anywhere. Another thing is that the odds don't update in real-time. You have to refresh the page to get the newest odds.

I think that the score should also be visible for all in-play matches even before clicking on an individual event.
There are no scores here https://app.betfamous.com/cdb/events.

Ajde malo da promjenimo temu. Bitcoin je mrtav (opet) i to je to. Grin

NO KYC Exchanges kycnot

5085  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies: Don't use centralized exchanges! on: June 15, 2022, 08:53:29 AM
The (of course centralized) exchanges listed in this topic are especially untrustworthy by being proven to confiscate your coins if they believe you got it from gambling or other activites they don't like (directly or indirectly). Keep in mind that you can receive 'tainted funds' by someone you do legit business with, and you can be a totally legal person and still get your coins confiscated.
Even if you do legit business with a gambling platform that doesn't involve gambling, your coins can be dirty money in the eyes of centralized exchanges. Maybe you are a translator, content creator, developer, maybe you designed some artwork, a logo, found a bug in their systems... and you got compensated and rewarded for your work. Deposit those coins to a centralized exchange and you might be in for a nasty surprise.

CMIIW but Hitbtc, Bitfinex, Poloniex, Yobit, Hotbit,... still not require any KYC to open an account and trade on them.
HitBTC and Yobit are scam exchanges. Just check out what kind of threads you will come across when you search for "site:bitcointalk.org Yobit" or "site:bitcointalk.org HitBTC". HitBTC makes it easy to deposit, almost impossible to withdraw. I remember they used to have the biggest withdrawal fees on the market.

Do you have an example of such a decentralized exchange where these coins are sold?
witcher_sense mentioned EtherDelta, but I think that one is dead already. ForkDelta was often mentioned as its successor. But I can't help you regarding the token names. It is true that you could trade tokens on those platforms even before they got listed anywhere else.
5086  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transactions (Compilation for newbies) on: June 15, 2022, 08:31:00 AM
I don't think we're at a point where it's time to use accelerating services again.
That's right. Right now, there are about 2.000-2.200 unconfirmed transactions in the mempool according to Mempool.space. That isn't a lot. Two blocks in quick succession will bring this number down to around 0.
5087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Cryptocurrency or BITCOIN? on: June 15, 2022, 08:24:09 AM
- It has also Blockchain Technology, this is basically technology used only in transactions where when verified the information it
can be compared to one block and added to another block or fixture thus becoming a blockchain.
It's the other way around. Bitcoin is a successful use case of blockchain technology. The blockchain is just a public database of information.

But Bitcoin no longer has Fee's (You can transact person to person unlike in credit card there are many parties involved) and we will also be anonymous here and be more secure in avoiding hacks because of the technology used in it.
Bitcoin has mining fees. Miners get paid for the computational work they provide to the network. They earn block rewards (newly created bitcoins) and the mining fees from transactions that get included in their blocks. Because of its public ledger, Bitcoin is only pseudo-anonymous. There are ways to deanonymize you if you use centralized crypto service providers where you have verified your identity, or if you connect your real name to Bitcoin addresses. You can still be hacked and exploited in many ways: Phishing, keylogging, being infected with malware that changes a copied Bitcoin address to that of a hacker, etc.
5088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching college students about Bitcoin on: June 15, 2022, 08:07:06 AM
Great initiative to bring Bitcoin closer to the younger generations!

A few comments:

- You should teach the kids to never search for Bitcoin wallets on Google Play Store or via the Google search engine. Neither of the two services care and they will gladly advertise scam and phishing wallets. Your recommendation of Trust Wallet is also not the best. First of all, it's a closed-source multicurrency wallet. You don't need that for Bitcoin. Stick with a community-trusted open source Bitcoin-only client like Electrum if you want a light wallet or Bitcoin Core as a full node.

This hasn't been updated for some time, but it's still a good place to start:
[General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?

- Bitcoin won't become the world's #1 currency. Those in power won't allow it. But that doesn't stop any of us to use it. It is and will remain a viable alternative that will be developed alongside the traditional financial systems.

- When you describe P2P markets, mention Bisq as a great alternative to centralized exchanges who make up their own rules of who can and can't use their services.
5089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason why the bounty section is the worst and most spamming board on: June 14, 2022, 06:27:03 PM
Is it about taking on one's social media about an altcoin in order to get paid, perhaps joining a Telegram group in order to get paid?
Yeah, those are some of the tasks. Social media campaigns require the hunters to like, tweet, post, retweet, follow, comment, etc., etc. But you also have things like article writing, translation campaigns, making YouTube videos, artwork, and so on. Not really sure what else they have come up with in the meantime. maybe Telegram and reddit posting considering that the two are quite popular in the crypto space.

Best thing of all, there are no guarantees you will ever get paid. You work for stakes and it all depends on how well the crowdfunding/ICO/ITO/whatever it is now goes. So in theory, your "work" can be rewarded with $1, $10, or $1000. Although, it's highly unlikely you will get anything close to $1000.

Do they even use escrow?  Roll Eyes
I think some bounty manager require that the bounty allocation is paid into their address and then they post an address where the community can check it. But there is no traditional escrow as far as I know.
5090  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betfamous - sports betting contests - create your challenges - crypto stablecoin on: June 14, 2022, 01:24:41 PM
I was interested to check what kind of betting contests are live on the website, but unfortunately it can't be seen without creating an account first. I have come across a few casinos like that and I don't really like it. I would like to see first what you have and then make up my mind if I should register an account or not. Could you change that?

Your home page (https://www.betfamous.com/en) reminds me more of a blog than a casino.
Best of luck even though I immediately lost interest because of the requirement to register. Huh
5091  Other / Meta / Re: What we can do to get ride of alt farmers? on: June 14, 2022, 01:03:14 PM
The merit system prevents the worst kind of spammers from ranking up. So that part is solved. Unless they already have high-ranked accounts, they will never rank up in genuine ways. Everything else is up the bounty managers who manage the campaigns. You really shouldn't expect too much from a campaign manager who has no standards and accepts just about anyone. If that is the case with the campaigns you participate in, maybe you should stop wasting your time with those bounty managers (or all bounty campaigns in general) and focus on something else.

The bounty section is like that ugly part of the town where all the junkies go to get their daily fix. We all know it's there, but almost no one goes there anymore.
5092  Other / Meta / Re: Are you a merit source? Thanks for your sacrifice. on: June 14, 2022, 12:26:34 PM
Firstly, I discovered that some merits sources who also have good amounts of merits earned are denied of merits (maybe unintentionally) by other members of the forum.
I guess it depends on which sub-boards those members are active in. I like being in the technical Bitcoin boards. And in those boards you have maybe 20 regulars you can come across almost every day. We all receive and send merits (merit sources or not), and very often you end up meriting the same people. There are a few reasons for that. They are the ones who know what they are talking about and how to solve technical problems, and low-ranked users are hard to come by in those boards. And those who are there, usually have problems and and ask how to solve them. They aren't the ones doing the solving.

So if you are a merit source very active in technical Bitcoin boards, you will often come across quality and merit-worthy posts of other merit sources and high-ranked users. Usually, a high rank and being a merit source goes hand in hand.
5093  Other / Meta / Re: Can I create a self moderated topic on this forum? (in the gambling section) on: June 14, 2022, 12:03:25 PM
Judging by your trust feedback, I assume this is going to be a self-modded thread about FortuneJack.
You're correct Fortunejack.com players, don't place similar bets on sportsbook.
I saw it earlier today and wrote the following post in it:

Quote
But you are forgetting about one important detail. That detail or TOS paragraph is even visible at the bottom of your screenshot. The maximum payout for any bet is capped at €100.000. How do you expect to win €200.000 if the TOS you agreed to says that the casino won't pay out more than €100.000 per bet?

If you make pre-match bets on final outcome - TEAM A, Asian handicap -0.5 - TEAM A, who will win the rest of the match - TEAM A... it's all the same. You are betting on the same outcome, meaning all wagers pay out if TEAM A wins. You can't try to trick the system by earning more money from TEAM A's win by making multiple different bets that are all basically the same just different markets.
Since OP didn't like what I wrote and doesn't prefer the truth, he deleted my post lol. But the thread isn't even gambling related, it's about a reputation issue and because of that it shouldn't even be posted in that sub-board.
5094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you predict the caption on: June 14, 2022, 09:41:31 AM
People are finally seeing Bitcoin as the ponzi scheme it is, or something along those lines is something I saw when the whole Celsius circus began. I don't really pay attention to mass media headlines but you see them anyways one way or the other. They are just trying to sell whatever can be sold and right now it's Bitcoin crashing and destroying everything in its path. Roll Eyes

Is it better to be uninformed or misinformed, that's the real question?
5095  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet Inquiry on: June 14, 2022, 09:25:47 AM
-snip-
How can I verify the amount of BTC received offline?
Create a "watching-only" wallet version of your offline Electrum, there, you can see the balance and transactions.
The correct answer is you can't check and verify that you received a transaction without an internet connection. Let's not talk about Blockstream Satellite. Whether its a watch-only or a regular hot wallet, it needs to communicate and receive transaction info from the servers, so an internet connection is a must.
5096  Other / Meta / Re: Creating tools to populate /ANNS/ with current projects on: June 14, 2022, 08:34:52 AM
Please name 5 new relevant Bitcoin codebase projects. Newer, at least.
I don't see how that is relevant. Especially because you are asking if a tool can be created to find and post about Ethereum-based projects, not improvements to Bitcoin's codebase. I could google it if I wanted to or check what Bitcoin contributors are doing on GitHub.
5097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to win at gambling? on: June 13, 2022, 04:17:41 PM
Unless I was the one who introduced them to gambling, I don't see why I should blame myself for their addiction. I could be blamed for not helping them to recover, but that's it. The majority of gamblers who don't pay attention to their wins and losses are probably losing long-term. But if you are betting on sports and games that aren't exclusively luck-based, it's possible to maintain a healthy profit if you have patience and a professional attitude to only play when you are confident of the outcome. Not just to play for the sake of playing and risking your money unnecessarily.

I know a few guys who were successful athletes in their sports. Some of them are even coaches or ex-coaches. They have a very healthy attitude towards sports gambling and only gamble on the events whose teams they are familiar with. They understand local rivalries, they can get to information about injuries or out of form players that isn't always public, and know stuff like which teams and players don't like paying at a certain venue or under particular weather conditions. They make bets based on that and come out with decent profits. But that's not your average gambler nor do they have such a mindset.
5098  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fairspin.io Withdrawal Delayed (SOLVED) on: June 13, 2022, 03:46:23 PM
Good afternoon, the issue is resolved, please remove the red flag.
He isn't the one who created the flag. Apocollapse did, but he isn't supporting it anymore. There are still 3 users who support it, including icopress who is in DT.

Maybe they haven't seen your posts yet. You know because of "pre-moderated" posts. Wink
All the massages appeared in the ANN today, probably they were on pre-moderation

Could take 20 or maybe 23 days before the pre-moderation stage ends. Who knows. After that, they will surely see it. Pre-moderation is a real bitch sometimes.
5099  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Blacklist] of unreliable, 'taint proclaiming' Bitcoin services / exchanges on: June 13, 2022, 03:34:39 PM
Again, this is the real solution here. If the whole community stopped buying in to this taint nonsense and stopped using exchanges which enforce this nonsense, then the whole concept would disappear very quickly.
But we all know this isn't going to happen. Or it will take a long time before centralized exchanges notice a significant drop in user activity to the point they start worrying about their profits and maybe change their ways just a little bit. Incentivizing users with some free money, decreased trading fees, and in the future maybe giving them an NFT (with promises that it's going to be worth a lot soon) will still be enough for most to forget about all the negatives.

Od kako je SISAR napisao ovaj post i malo izreklamirao Internet Computer Protokol, zanimalo me je da vidim o čemu se tu tačno radi. Pročačkao sam malo po njihovim objavama na društvenim mrežama, pogledao par YouTube prezentacija gdje objašnjavaju integraciju ICP blockchaina i Bitcoina, i pokrenuo raspravu Bitcoin’s Integration with The ICP Blockchain.
