The great bit coin monetary experiment is over. All that's left is to switch off the bit coin servers.

I imagine all bitcoiners are glad to see the end of 2014 - Bitcoins worst year...
... so far.

Mozzilla still accept donations
I think he is not considering donations, because wikipedia would have been included then. Good point, but why skip donations... Separate lists for merchants and donations?

Bit coin is not on the top search list for 2014.

I asked Amazon a few hours ago (in german, translated below): -snip- -snip- to that end I have forwarded your e-mail to the responsible department and I thank you for your suggestion. -snip-
-snip- From personal experience: they did not. It looks like a boilerplate answer and whoever answers 1st level mails will not be able to forward it someone important enough to make that decision anway. Dont bother, you will just start to annoy poorly paid students if you send to many mails. I got similar email last year. Looks like Amazon are sitting on their developers hands.

Excuse me, Iīm new to bitcoin. I have tried to read many explanations for beginners for the last days, but there are some basic things that I still canīt understand, although I consider them essential to know before I buy my first BTC.
I read all the time about storing BTC in wallets (software, hardware and paper wallets) and I canīt understand what is meant by that. First of all, how can a virtual "thing" be stored? I can see how physical coins, gold, etc. could be stored in a box or safe, but how can a virtual coin be stored in a software, hardware, and even... a piece of paper? I still canīt grasp the logic of it. For example, if itīs just a computer file, then why canīt it be copy-pasted and turned into many files?
The reason for my question is specifically that Iīve read about many cases of stolen bitcoins, and I want to understand what makes it possible or impossible for a bitcoin to be stolen? How Can I buy a BTC and transfer it directly to a piece of paper (supposing I understand how thatīs done) with zero chance of it being stolen?
Thank you very much for the help.
Basically the blockchain is your friend. Instead of trying to read up about bitcoin focus first on the blockchain. Everything else will fall in place. Good luck.

I'd rather the price fell so I could buy some more as I'm holding for the long-term.

The "clearing house automated payment system" seems to cost a lot to process a transaction.

Be happy and content with your 30 bitcoins. Most of us have much, much less.

This thread appears to be more focused on discussing the point of discussing threads.

Blockchain size and the confirmation times are the most critical issues bitcoin needs to resolve today. If the problem is confirmation time then I'd request all bitcoin servers increase their system memory to at least 8Gb if you want to host. Then increase hard disk space to cope with the increased blockchin size.

When will the first war over Bitcoin commence, and in what form will it take?
Throughout history we have had college textbooks littered with the most grandiose tales of bloody honor and courage in killing ones own fellow man over a finite resource, so why not Bitcoin? When, where, who, and how will the first war over Bitcoins emerge?
You talk about war as it is something great? Really? ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) Being on the victors side that is how it is taught.

killing a human to invade his land and dig for precious resources is known as war, yes.
but you cant dig up bitcoin! bitcoin has no land.. no one needs to be killed to invade and own their land,
their will not be a war, instead their will be 'regulation' and 'taxation' which is the other method to take property off of people
As other posters have correctly elluded to I do not believe that, when it comes, the bitcoin war will be a conventional war. Why would it? Hence my asking who, how, and what form it will come from.
