Here's my suggestion for stopping scam coins.
All new coin dev must report where the code is forked from and provide full details of all changes before getting listed on any exchanges. This will make it much easier to verify the safety of the code.
This works on an intial release maybe , but what about wallet updates ?

While this technically isn't Bittrex's responsibility, it could well spell the end of them as an exchange unless they make drastic changes to their coin adding procedures. A LOT of people's trust will be heavily shaken by this ... knowing that at any point while trading on Bittrex stuff like this can happen. It just doesn't inspire much confidence.
If they had put a simple hold on those big withdrawalls the situation would have been salvagable but they screwed thier consumer base due to thier greed. Lets see how much $$ they make when NOONE is trading on thier scammy exchange.

tokyoghetto = scammer
probably one of these newbie dev's main account.
I've already ignored him

No!
I said it a couple of times and I'll say it again. Stop blaming exchanges for shitty coins. It's not their fault people invest in all kinds of shady coins before doing their research. Exchanges are just tools, providing us a convenient way to trade. They are not to blame.
Shut up man , its not the fact that they list the coins its the fact that they allow the withdrawals of funds generated via hidden premines /malacious code!! get a grip dude , no one here is a child but its common freaking business sense, if Bittrexx were not crooks they would not allow these crooks to make off with so much BTC on a coin that is less than one - two days old. Hell if I owned an exchange I would not allow withdrawalls of over 10 BTC on a new coin for at least month!!

Guys Please PM me with trace information about the dev. This dev will be a first example , why the should not scam on us. Pictures will be added as well. Give me just a info where i can find him. Kind regards
+1 I hope you catch the bastard

Sorry for the lack of updates. I don't think we will be turning this back on. The block-chain is completely compromised, any rogue wallet can mint any amount of coins at will.
I'm done with your exchange , withdrew my coins and out, sadly it was a small amount of coins due to being scammed over and over these last couple of weeks all with coins on Bittrexx. The fact that you allow these scammers to part with hundreds of thousands of dollars of stolen coins is the issue I have I could care less about my 3000 useless USB coins.

HELLO ALL. i invested a lot of money in that coin, mining + bittrex. Please help me track that person. I will not give up until see him face to face even if I have fly to china , whatever...

shame someone used good technical skills to rob a community, of 10 % of the bitcoins in the alt market, you realize the alt market is for the poor folks who are trying to "adopt" cryptos ? ... Bitcoin community should never ask for mass adoption if they have such elements robbing the weakest in the chain .. the crypto experiment wont go to far. Oh and "unregulated free market" is a myth, it's more like a savage immoral jungle.
I couldnt do it if I were a dev.... imagine how you must feel after scamming so many people with so much money... I wouldnt feel the slightest bit happy... I will feel rich though ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) and no shit, but what a dumbass... he could at least take the time too play his little scam... and dump when the prices were higher ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) dude he doubled the money supply and made $120k USD , he had to do it relatively quick due to the obviousness of his hack

Like i said though, yeah the detective work is great and all but was found far too late, the Dev and others like him probbaly have 8,9,10 20 other ways to doctor the wallets of thier next scamcoin or come up with another way to inject blocks. Its on the exchanges to not allow these fucks to not witdraw those ill gotten gains.
If Shittrexx had some sort of moritorium on large BTC withdrawals like a normal bank or exchange does this would NEVER have happend.
btw I also pulled all my BTC out of bittrexx , I left cryptsy, Mintpal and now I'll try polo if they fail me I might shut off all my GPUS and just sell em.
Only way is give more attention to decentral exchanges like night trader. And you can be sure that i will do this for now. I agree I'll check out night trader today as well but it still needs to be a community effort i.e a boycott of these shit exchanges , remeber MTGOX seems that we have not learned like they say those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

FFS guys ...!! I take the dogs out for a walk, do a bit of shopping come back and Iīve lost 99% value on this coin in less than 4 hours ..!!! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) thats about normal at bittrex haha learn the hard way to stay far away from bittrex! or any other exchange that lists coins right away That doesnt really help though unless everyone boycotts bittrexx, if you own any of these coins and they are sitting in your wallet you are still fked the main thing is to stay away from these new coins I guess
|
|
|
wow I didnt even know the coin was allready on Shittrexxx
I had 2500 coins from 2 days of mining o well lost about $15 in electriity costs plus the $15 -20 per day I could have got from mining a real coin.
These past few months have been a never ending lesson i just dont want to learn. Its our fualt really as a community : VVIendi - scam Elite - scam Conceal -scam
more than i can even name here its like two or three every week. Bittrexx has to be either complicit or incompetent maybe both how the I don't care about them listing the coins fast , but how the hell would you write code that allows someone to withdraw over $120k of coins from your exchange after a coin has been listed less than 24 hours ago?
You really cant make up some of these scams , one thing i wonder about is where was this nija code ?
We need to have a body out there that vetting these new projects and fully inspects the code but as a developer myself there are tons of places you could put malicious code in a large program like the bit coin core so not sure how much that would work. Think the Dev could have written the code in with a time delay of 2-3 weeks and done the same thing just at a later date, or hidden it in a new wallet update. - get my drift ? there is no real protection from these type of scams
apart from having the developers post their real personal and financial info so we know who the F they really are this anon Dev thing is just not working.
Personally If i miss the boat on these new coins I guess I miss the boat gonna stick to mining well established coins that have been active for at least 3-6 months now I'm just done.

Obviously overdelivering is always better, and yes, their previous estimations of "6TH per sp30" are now going to be very costly for them.
On the other hand, spondoolies raked the cash in for 6TH miners, and are now going to find a way to make every customer whole.
While overpromising could be considered a rookie mistake, keep in mind that even bitmain overpromised on their S3 by about 10%, offering refunds in that amount.
They didnīt have a worse efficiency though and atleast my S3 (which I bought just for fun) actually does 500GH after some tweaking.
The tests from spondoolies, including stress tests under high temperatures, should give everyone a solid number as to what they can expect from their sp30s.
I am still a little unsure as to how they can be certain that the chip isnīt as good as it should be (and not some other component is at fault) without specific chip testing, but they probably found a way to eliminate certain possibilities.
However, I doubt the foundry is at fault, as spondoolies would then be able to hopefully get some compensation. I also donīt know how they have ruled out bad /non-optimal chip packaging as a source of lower efficiency. (I know that certain materials used to connect the inner connections with the pins at the outside of the package can be problematic and create a slightly lower efficiency).
This is all pure speculation and once spondoolies has solid numbers and a compensation plan for customers, I am sure we are going to learn more about the specific nature of the problem(s). That is if this doesnīt give away any of spondoolies IP.
I sure hope you are wrong that its not an issue from the foundry speculation or not
