5081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale and Roulette on: August 19, 2018, 09:33:14 PM
IMO martiangle on roulette is not fit because the range is too far.
Simple gamble type like dice is the suitable one.
Even the experienced gamblers, I can guarantee that many of them dislike using martiangle on their gameplay
yes, I think the martingale strategy is more suitable for playing dice because by doing this strategy we can manage the betting money we have well even though this strategy is quite risky but this strategy has been widely used by gamblers

It's not. Martingale works in your normal life, but it doesn't work in online gambling where wins are calculated by a computer that does it for all players at once every second.
If you throw a coin and martingale the strategy will seem to work. Try doing it in online gambling like dice and you'll go broke.
5082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung says that smartphones are the safest way to store cryptocurrencies on: August 19, 2018, 09:27:40 PM
What would you say if a car producer said that cars are the safest means of transport or if someone making safes said that you should keep your money locked at home because it's the safest? It's a normal thing that they do it and they will keep doing it because that's how you make money. Smartphone can be stolen much easier than a computer from your home. Also, you can never be sure what tracking devices are in your phones.
5083  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to The Community - Any advice on where to start? on: August 19, 2018, 09:19:49 PM
Hi! I'm a complete newbie to the bitcoin community. Do you guys have any recommendations on what I should be doing first? Would truly appreciate any advice you can provide. Smiley

First go to youtube and watch some videos of Andreas Antonopoulos. Get them all into a playlist and watch them. THis will give you some basic understanding of the topic.
Next you should get a wallet. Bitcoin core or Electrum are the best. Get into an exchange like Coinbase and buy some Bitcoins. You can just buy $100 in Bitcoin or even less if you want. Get some and learn how to send and receive, how to use qr codes, how to set fees and so on. These are the basics.
5084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I LOVE WHAT I'M BECOMING IN THE BITCOIN WORLD!!!!!!! on: August 19, 2018, 09:15:55 PM
This story is so shallow. It looks like it's about helping other people invest, teaching them about Bitcoin but later you see that OP measures the success of an investor by him buying a lambo. This is so dumb. Is  that why you are here? Is that why you're thinking about investing? To get rich quickly and by a useless lambo? That's so stupid and naive.
5085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockbuster technology a good career for a student on: August 19, 2018, 09:06:20 PM
I really believe, blockchain will provide a good place for your career. Because I believe, blockchain technology is the technology of the future

I agree. You should pursue your dream. If you like cryptocurrencies and would decide to study IT anyway, blockchain is a great choice. You can expand your knowledge into cryptography or math if you want to. Those are related subjects, you don't have to study one thing only.
5086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin, US Dollar Will Become Worthless: Warns Kim Dotcom on: August 18, 2018, 09:56:21 PM
The Dollar can collapse because of constant printing and devaluation. If the Dollar goes down enough people will start panicking and investing in other things like metals and Bitcoin. Do you know how you get bankrupt? Very slowly at first and then all at once.
5087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Clients of mine looking to liquidate their positions on: August 18, 2018, 09:52:47 PM
Hi all, any traders able to recommend a reliable company that can buy Bitcoin in bulk quantities for wire transfers? A number of my clients have approached me looking to sell their positions in Bitcoin, some of which are companies / groups.

I must say that those are a bunch of dumb clients. Smiley) Or maybe they have just reached the edge of the knife and need to pay their rent. I'm not judging anyone.  Cheesy Why don't you just make an account on bittrex, bitstamp, kraken, etc. and sell them there?

Because he's likely just a troll starting an FUD thread here.

If he really did want to sell 10,000+ BTC, then over-the-counter (OTC) would be the way to go -- not directly on exchange order books. That way, he could avoid slippage. Bitfinex has an OTC trading desk, and so does itBit.

That was also my first thought after seeing this thread. He's deliberately telling how much he has to sell, even though we haven't asked. People who have 10k BTC don't know where to sell it? Maybe they should do it in the same place where they bought it Lips sealed
I don't believe anyone would hold 10000 BTC without knowing how to trade it.
5088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Major Exchange CEO: Despite Correction, Demand For Bitcoin Has Not Declined on: August 18, 2018, 09:49:11 PM
The demand should be going up because of huge discount on every coin. People aren't thinking straight when it comes to investing. When something is going up they buy it and when it's going down they keep selling. Most people will never make money anywhere with such attitude.
5089  Economy / Economics / Re: Bear trap or bull trap? on: August 12, 2018, 07:53:26 PM
Unfortunately, cryptocurrencies are continuing slashing. While there are no objective reasons to talk about a bearish or bullish trap because the downtrend is still strong and there were not sufficient attempts to change the downtrend. I think it is reasonable to talk about a bearish or bullish trap in case of indefinite situation.
Let us have a look at ETH which is currently about 300$. ETH is in the downtrend now so let us suppose that it may being formed a bearish trap around the current price level. Is is possible? I do not think so because bears are mostly professionals and they do not have reasons to form a bearish trap because retail investors almost do not open short positions. Well, lets us suppose that it may being formed a bullish trap and it is much more likely but I do not think so because there were not strong boughts recently which might involve enough new investors to catch them in a trap. So, I consider that in the current market situation there are no reasons to think or to talk about traps.

Not all coins are losing value. There's a huge increase in Bitcoin dominance while altcoins are losing a lot of value, mainly the former big players like ETH and XRP. I think that the price of Bitcoin is largely manipulated right now but at the same time many people have a much greater confidence in it than they have in other coins. They know that Bitcoin will initiate the next bull run and be the first to go into green.
5090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥🔥 GENERAL ELECTRIC invest in blockchain technology🔥🔥 on: August 12, 2018, 07:49:21 PM
Blockchain this Blockchain that, sure i guess it's okay due to helping spread awareness of use and trust in how Bitcoin works but it doesn't do much else for Bitcoin.

I agree. Using blockchain technology to secure your data won't do anything for cryptocurrencies and companies are doing their best to separate blockchain and bitcoin.
It's always the same boring narrative.
Do you guys invest in cryptocurrencies?
No we don't care about those internet money all we care about is blockchain. Virtual money is for anarchists and drug dealers!
5091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: here you have it economists speak against bitcoin on: August 12, 2018, 07:45:18 PM
Quote
The ever-increasing amounts of electricity that bitcoin mining consumes threaten to reverse the efforts and gains made so far in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, an academic has claimed.

What an idiot. If you don't like greenhouse gasses so much maybe you should invest in solar, wind and geothermal plants. Even nuclear energy doesn't generate any gasses so I don't see a connection between consuming energy and the greenhouse effect unless you have a small coal or diesel powered generator in your yard that powers the farm
5092  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's all RED!!! This could really be the end. on: August 12, 2018, 07:42:14 PM
When you see all those negative threads coming up and people getting fed up and leaving the market you should know that it's the point of market despair. USually when despair begins the asset is largely oversold and the last weak hands are leaving the market. I bought some cheap coins and am willing to wait until 2019 if that's what it takes.
Go long guys it's a great moment. Even if it goes down to $5000 short term that's the worst thing that can happen.
5093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peak get lower and lower, and dips get worse on: August 12, 2018, 07:38:09 PM
It was pretty clear that something like this will happen. Bitcoin's price will not increase in a short period that is for sure. Maybe after a year or two the situation will become normal and it will hit the $10k mark.

2 years before it goes up? You're such a pessimist. The usual moves in Bitcoin don't take that long. Usually it takes less than 6 months after hitting the bottom to start a new rally. Even if we were to continue the bear market until Winter, we'd have to get a new rally in Spring 2019.
5094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain - Killer or Savior? on: August 12, 2018, 07:30:09 PM
It can't be the killer because the economy will always exist and work with or without fiat money. How could blockchain kill the economy because I did not see any reasonable explanation in the thread? It gives people a choice and their work will always have value. The only thing that cryptocurrencies change is the way they get paid for that work.
5095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL Reminder: Bitcoin Halving is just around 650 days away on: August 11, 2018, 08:00:45 PM
A lot can happen in 2 years but you are right. People are focusing too much on the short term and fail to see the big picture until it's too late. People who sold at 20$ regretted it a year later. People who sold at $300 also regretted it a year later. If you sell at $6000 you will surely regret it in 2019 unless you manage to buy it all back at $5000, but that's like gambling.
5096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you a victim of the word HOLD? on: August 11, 2018, 07:57:37 PM
Idiots buy crypto when it's peaking and can't recognize a bear market when it hits them. It's funny that people are holding for months and finally when the price is at its lowest point they start panicking and selling. They write their sad stories down on forums hoping that people will understand and say that they also sold and lost money and bitcoin is to blame. Sorry OP but you are to blame.
Never buy when price is going up exponentially.
Never sell when is down more than 70%
5097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How anonymous and secure is the blockchain technology? on: August 11, 2018, 07:50:32 PM
The crypto world is run via blockchain technology, but how can we be sure of its anonymity? How anonymous it is really? With hackers all around, do you think that maybe it is not so anonymous and secured after all?
Its anonymous until you want to buy/sell bitcoin.
This required to match bitcoin address with your personal details. So any transaction after that is not anonymous at all.

Bitcoin should be improved upon privacy. It will happen in future.

You can use a P2p exchange where you don't have to give up any details and trade for cash. Bitcoin is anonymous if you want it to be. It's also very secure, so if you don't lose your keys or allow someone to infect your computer nobody will steal it from you and it's safe from government snooping.
If you want to improve the privacy do it on your end. You don't have to change Bitcoin.
5098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Deal with Bitcoins Up & Down Swings? Please Help. on: August 11, 2018, 07:46:22 PM
I'm not stressed at all because I don't have a lot of money at all and a portion of it being in cryptocurrencies won't change anything. If you have only something like 1000 USD in crypto and the market falls by 10% you've lost 100$. It's not much so such swings are like a joke to me. What I'm hoping for is that one day Bitcoin will be worth 100k USD or more and i'll have some money to spend.
5099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India's largest private Bank embraces Blockchain on: August 11, 2018, 07:42:33 PM
This news doesn't matter at all because Indian government is against Bitcoin and doesn't allow fiat to be exchanged for fiat-crypto exchanges, much like China. Also, some people have noticed that the article is 2 years old. Useless FUD.
5100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours a day are you spending on online gambling? on: August 11, 2018, 07:26:57 PM
Noty many. I usually gamble weekly (on the weekends) and spend maybe 2 hours a day during weekends. I think even that amount is too much and I'd prefer to do it less often. Maybe i'll make it my New Year's resolution Smiley
You guys who gamble daily should think about it because you could be addicted.
