WTF is happening with the Italy vs Philippines game? This is one of the most lop-sided games I have ever watched. I just switched on the live streaming and saw the score (62-24). During the first quarter, it was even worse (37-8). I guess Philippines is suffering from the restriction that they could field only one naturalized player. That made some of their best players ineligible for the tournament.
Italy played superb basketball bro, quality basketball for me. The ball barely touches the floor, everyone have touched the rock before they shoot while on the Philippines side, everything they throw did not go in. Even if we have Clarkson on the lineup i would still expect the same result. |

The 4th quarter is on and it's already acceptable and visible who's the clear winner for this match. I understand the view of bryant.coleman and I think many has already thought that there's no sense watching one-sided games like this anymore.
Lol, this game was already won by Serbia long time ago  . Though that was lopsided but still i watched it because i am following this team as they are the front runner in dethroning the US team and see how they perform every game. Against Angola, Serbia used their height advantage and play slow, they can't do that on the US team of course. So do you think it will be the same result with the Philippines vs Italy later? Italy is also the favorites in the match up It's even worse than Angola's beat down, the Philippines has not hit from the rainbow, maybe the president's presence put some pressure on the Gilas players. Quality display of basketball play by the Italians, hardly miss those 3's. Anyways, this is expected though, even the president himself said that Gilas don't stand a chance against Italy. |

If Floyd will see this video, he would say to Loma, "Im long been retired from boxing dude" . It could be a money fight for Loma but i don't think Money would bite this. Loma is young and a beast that destroyed Rigondeaux who replicates the style of Floyd IMO. It's not possible at this point. If he wanted to go to 147 and chase money fights there, then good. There are a lot of high prize fighter in that decision not name Floyd Mayweather. But I don't know if his body can really go that high though and we don't know for sure if he can carry the power and the speed. But it would be really interesting to at least go as high as 140 lbs for him and go for belt. Yeah, you are right, big money is on the heavier division and i doubt if he will continue to go up in weight, he said he is comfortable fighting at 130. Bob Arum need to step in here and urge Loma to move up in weight like What Arum did to Manny. |

Never mind the upset. Let's call spade a spade. The Philippines is going to lose to Italy 99.9%. But since we are here to make money, I'm going to bet on a +19.5 for Philippines. 19.5 points is a huge bonus. And with a 1.78 odds, not too bad. I'm worried on the absence of Lassiter and Wright because the Philippines is now lacking deadly outside gunner that could somehow keep the game close at least but anyway i'll go for +17.5 Philippines. |

I don't think that the Philippines will heed to China's call to ban all online gambling because one of the main source of income came from the casinos may it be online or offline and it's very critical to have that income as the Duterte administration needed that badly to fund the build build build program.
For now, maybe they can ban all Chinese from gambling on the Philippine soil, they can come here only as tourist.

Yeah. They need all the support they can get; maybe not from our President but at least from our country's citizens. Because my father told me that there was a news where in PRRD said that Ph don't stand a chance against Italy. I wasn't able to watch that news but, I'm so disappointed that he said that.  He really is brutally honest. But I know Gilas will find that statement motivating rather than disheartening. Don't you know that PRRD will be the Gilas number one supporter when they play against Italy? It's reported that he will be watching that game if nothing changes on his schedule. Like what you have said, he is just brutally honest to tell that Gilas has no chance against Italy and it is good as it will lower the expectation of the non-basketball fanatic Filipinos on their quest. |

I also don't know about his talent, I mean he got some decent post moves but he has not really develop even a mid-range J which I think is very important for centers now.
I was talking about Dwight developing his mid-range jumpers a few days ago and then I saw this video of him shooting from range https://www.facebook.com/LakersNationPhilippines16/videos/679616389116787/It's nice to see him add more to his arsenal. It'll be more difficult to guard him if he can do it consistently. If he can develop his shooting at mid range, then that would be his asset for his new team. Furthermore, I don't think he can easily have that shooting touch in a short period of training. Lol, why develop his mid-range shooting and why not his free throws? Let Lebron et al, do the shooting and Dwight will be crashing the board for those rebounds and he is gonna be fouled for that put back then shoot FT  . Free throws is the dent on the armor of Howard and i don't think he has improve on that aspect of his game. |

Wow!! I wasn't aware of any such restriction. Need to congratulate the FIBA for coming up with such a rule. Else many of the less talented teams would pack their squad with players from the United States and those teams who can't afford these players won't be able to qualify. I have seen this in cricket where many of the teams (such as Qatar, UAE, Singapore.etc) don't have a single citizen playing for them.
FIBA only allow one naturalized player to play so i think it does not have so much impact on the local players. From what i've seen, mostly teams from Asia have a naturalized player playing for them in the FIBA tournament. I think it is good for the low ranking teams to have one because that imported player will bring another level of competition within the team itself. |

Even though Italy isn't a top 10 team in FIBA they still are a better team compared to what the Philippines have since aside from them having two NBA players in the roster the rest of their squad consists of players playing in the Euroleague which compared to the Filipino players we have all play in a much lower standard competition in the PBA even Blatche's CBA league cannot match the standard of what the Euroleague can bring. If the Philippines really wants to even have a chance to win the game they need to change on how they play and pick up their mistakes when they have fought Australia which completely destroyed them.
It's a no-brainer to say that indeed Italy is way off better than the Philippines. On papers, they are unbeatable by the Philippines given by the quality of players that they had on their squad but this is only a one game affair and anything can happen. Upset is real, though the chance is very very slim but it can happen. Even the president of the Philippines speculated that Gilas won't win against Italy but the Gilas take that statement as a motivation to prove doubters that they are wrong. |

Jeremy Lin has given up his chance on signing on an NBA team as he is now a Duck . He is the latest member of the CBA's Beijing Ducks.  I think this is an excellent move on his part as his stint with the CBA may boost his confidence as he has a lot of follower on China and if he will do good, there is a big possibility of an NBA comeback just like what other NBA stars did in the past. |
