Wise decision, for a few hundred more you can get a 1 TH/s miner for China.
Hate to say it, but all the US based miner manufacturers(Butterfly Labs, Hashfast, Cointerra) all suck ass.
It's really unfortunate that we don't have reliable manufacturer stateside, especially since we have such a large minerbase.

IMO the price should be betwwen 2200$ and 2400$. Others like bit-tech or the dragon miners are selling for far less than 3199$.
I am "lucky" that my miners are working fine, problem with just one having my fans running at 100% all the time. Still didnt find any solution on how to control those god damn fans. So fans are still running, 3 of them are monitored in the antminer webinterface and with the first one it is showing 0 rpm ( but still running at 100% ). It is so loud, and bitmain replied to me that it is not possible to adjust fan control manually. So disapointing.
I hope someone can find a way to acces the miners configuration file, I really need to reset / control the fan settings with SSH or something like that. I tried everything I could in order to have my fan control working good.
I agree, Bitmain seems to REALLY be milking the S2 … That or they are trying not to piss off batch 1 or batch 2 customers... Batch 1 and 2 owners already made back $31-32 a day on the machines mining. Wow! Seriously, I am interest to see how you arrive at that. If it's true, I get 1 too. What im saying is 1Th will make about $31 a day hashing now. If you bought a machine last week for $3600 it is almost same price as if you order a batch 3 machine today for $3199 and receive it next week. Too bad the S2 won't ROI in it's lifetimes for Batch 1, 2, or 3 buyers.

Any idea when these will hit the markets?
The Gridseeds and Gridseed Blades are available already. Go to Zoomhash or Hashra to order, or order from the multiple sellers in the "Goods/Computer Hardware" section in this forum. The Lightning Asic LA12M and LA60m is due in late May. The rest are pre-order, so YMMV.

But can't I just mine litecoin with the usb miners and sell it?
Even the dual miners won't amount to enough to warrant the cost. If you spend a little more, you can get the Gridseeds(330 KH/s), but that's already outdated by the Gridseed blades(5 MH/s), the upcoming Lightning Asic Scrypt miners(12 MH.s and 60 MH/s), and the future Flowertech(20 MH/s), Alpha T(16 MH/s and 90 MH/s), and KNCMiner Titan Asic Scrypt miners(150 MH/s and 300 MH/s). Once these hit the market your USB miners will make pennies a day, if that.

Hey guys, I have a few noob questions i'd like to ask. I searched for bitcoin mining and most people said bitcoin mining was useless unless you would use asics. I can get around 5 asics from amazon for free ( the 30$ usb ones), how much would this earn me? If I connect them all to a raspberry and use this setup would I go over the break even point? If so by how much? Would it earn me more if I mine a different coin?
Thanks in advance
You won't ever break even with USB miners, but you can get it just to hobby mine and say you're a "bitcoin miner". Do it just for fun, and you'll be fine. IN order to profit from mining, you'd need multiple TH/s worth of mining equipment, enough electrical capacity to support this, little to no electrical costs, and the price of BTC to go up. But if you're in it just to play around, get familiar with the tech behind mining, be my guest.

AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 3 Sales OpenBitmain Technologies Limited is proud to announce ANTMINER S2 sales open at 22:00pm BeiJing time Apr 23rd GMT+8. The 3rd Batch of AntMiner S2 will be shipped out starting from April 26th. AntMiner S2 will be available in the global market for a price of $3,199. Coupon for Returning Customers: Only $3,099 after a $100 Instant Coupon, which will be released to the user IDs who have bought S2 in the Batch 1 & Batch 2. AntMiner S2 SPEC: Hash rate: 1,000GH/s Power consumption: less than 1,100W from the wall Power efficiency: Around 1.1Watt/GH/s PSU: 1050W produced by Enermax, 80PLUS gold 4U Rack (442mm * 432mm * 177mm) Built-in 1050W PSU Plug and Mining Stable and quietly Contact: info@bitmaintech.comURL: https://www.bitmaintech.com Sorry to put this in your face, as you've been awesome for the mining community, especially for the Antminer S1, but your pricing, design, and rollout of the S2 has been way off. Pricing, you've been beat several times over by your competitors. Best example, $2350 1 TH/s miner from Bit-Tech: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=409701.0Design, just based from the feedback on this thread. Blades disconnected, cables unplugged, quality control issues. Either the S2 isn't packaged correctly, or the case design is horrible. Rollout in batches now. What happened to the shipping from in stock or in hand model? This is basically a shortened pre-order model which causes inflated demand with everyone trying to get in line to make the batch cut. Hopefully for the S3, you go back to the S1 model of rock solid design, competitive and affordable pricing, and always shipping from stock. You already have the most popular miner in the world, maybe listen to the community that put you there.

I wonder what kind of wallet Dorian has. Blockchain with 2fa ?
Seems like Andreas just gave him a Blockchain.info wallet as the funds are still in the original donation wallet. Definitely makes sense to give him Blockchain wallet, as Andreas is the Chief Security Officer at Blockchain.info.

We started a new project over at cryptocrypt.org and wanted to share it with the rest of the community. Here is the pilot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0pdsCHUXxcPlease let me know how you liked it and let me know if you are interested in being interviewed. Thanks Holy Christ, that was great stuff! Didn't know whether to laugh or cry throughout. Like parts were tongue in cheek and parts were just ridiculous. IN A GOOD WAY! A little more polish, and it'll be the goods. Keep it up.

Wow!
What an amazing proof of delivery, a video where someone is instructed to say it received an Bitcoin "account".
LoL
What's a matter? Bitter because your "pre-order money grab scheme" theory was torn to shreds. Grow up dude! d00d, I am having a good time comparing this amazing proof of delivery video with Goat's new project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0pdsCHUXxcLoL My bad, thought you were still leaning on the Andreas scam angle. That said, Goat's look f$cking amazing! Like it's looks serious and hilarious at the same time. I can't decide!

Some problems getting everything running. Ive got the antminer connected to my power supply no problem and up and running. Can connect to it via web browser and log in change settings no problem. Updates the wan to my router ip, set miner config to http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333casinocoin_1 123 hit apply everything updates go to miner status and nothing, I have tried multiple variations of pools etc and nothing seems to work. Rebooted the device, and nothing. Any ideas on what to do from here? Green light is flashing What did you set the Ant Ip to? What did you set the broadcast IP to? Did you try setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 ? my router ip is 192.168.0.1 ant ip: Left it the same as I only have one. the sticker up is 192.168.1.99 so I left it at that broadcast nothing and then also tried 192.168.0.255 i tried the google dns as well yes, and tried switching it to my router. remove http:// or try stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333
Tried both, but will keep trying other things to see if I can get it. Anyone ideas? If your router ip is 192.168.0.1 then you have to set your Ant on the same 192.168.0.x network. Set your Ant to 192.168.0.199, then it should start working. ...or your Ant to 192.168.0.99 ... hehe...with your current router setting ...just kidding ... anything above your current router IP address 192.168.0.1 ... on your Ant ...192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.255 will be OK... Set it too, 192.168.0.99 now can't access the settings page via browser What is the range of IPs set on your Router? Is it set from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 ?

Still expecting to see my orders from December (batch 1) on the created account by MinerSource ... We are at 8 days of shipping, and no trace of my orders... This is REALLY annoying and not funny anymore.
If you account hasn't been migrated yet, you can check the old site for reference: https://oldstore.minersource.net/accountShitty I know, but at least it's in some database. Lol, my order was from the very first site. It was never imported to the second site and they're claiming that all orders have been imported into the third (current) site but I still don't see anything. Worst customer experience in the world.. Sorry to hear about your experience with them, Goozman. Mine wasn't imported to the new(3rd site) for awhile, until maybe a couple weeks ago or so. Hopefully you don't have any issues with your order when it finally comes time to ship (whenever that is).

Well done Andreas Antonopolous and Dorian S. Nakamoto!
This is what the Bitcoin community should really be about. The charitable and fundraiser aspect.
Glad to see Dorian in good spirits, and Andreas always shining a bright light on Bitcoin.
Bravo gents, bravo!

I guess the title says it all.
The fastest rigs from KnC and Cointerra are barely able to make back their purchase price.
Yet the difficulty keeps increasing.
If you haven’t taken delivery of your miner yet, you will almost surely lose money on it.
Is there any new technology on the horizon?
Or are we all hosed?
We're all hosed, time to close up shop now. Attention, all miners. Turn off all your equipment now and go home. I'll catch up with you guys later (turns miner back on).

Mine is a kid compared to others I have seen here!
No doubt. I've read about some pretty intense setups like folks who have their own power generation driving the mining. When I read your reply seeing 10Th/s with Antminers, the first thing I thought was, "Wow! That's sweet!" and then immediately it turned into, "How would I possibly get enough power to drive that?" which of course then turned into, "That's 20kW!" (Cue Doc Brown screaming about 1.21 Gigawatts and flux capacitors).... Nothing close to this one : Here is the original msg : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7216.msg6274310#msg6274310I wonder how much this rigs costed and Is it even possible to make profit with this? I guess It is. I'm going out on a limb here and saying yes, he will make profit with nearly 70 TH/s: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1487GbVKfL1Yq1N9ih6v58QWvsmwpNcBvgNot too shabby, at 5 BTC a day average.

Just navigating that site gives me the heebie jeebies. That is a VERY Rapey looking team.. I would avoid sending anything until they have definitive proof of product.. And even then.. Lol I feel bad for that cake, that they're about to plow through. In all seriousness, looks like a sketchy operation. They don't accept credit card or paypal only Bitcoin or Bank transfer, so proceed with caution as always.
