of which HE? what is the HE on your app?

The House Edge of my app is 0.5% and I pay out 50% or 75% of that what I receive, which is 0.25% of that what you wager. Smiley

So your title is misleading: it's not 75% of the house edge but rather up to 37.5% of the house edge.

Since you receive half of the house edge for the wager and are willing to pay out a maximum of 75% of what you receive, that is equivalent to 37.5% of the house edge.
5102  Other / Meta / Re: Can the mods search for BTC addresses, which are in member's profile? on: December 13, 2016, 01:37:27 PM
You are be able to do a Google search of site:bitcointalk.org "profile" "[address]"

The quotes will link to profiles and specify the address. Shouldn't that work?

5105  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 999DICE is totally not fair. (SCAM) on: December 12, 2016, 10:29:14 PM
999 has been accused many times, more than many other dice sites ..

Not much proof of anything, could be just bad luck... but

I would avoid them.

There are lots of dice sites, i would look for a more reputable one Smiley

Not much proof? What about the thread "How 999dice.com is stealing your coins, and exactly why you won't believe me" from way back in August of 2015? It might be too long for most people to read, but here's the section that keepinquiet wants you to read.

Quote
** PLEASE, READ THE NEXT THREE PARAGRAPHS VERY CAREFULLY. This is how 999dice is stealing thousands of your bitcoin. **

Until you click that button, you cannot see the hash. If you NEVER click that button, that seed, and the hash that is generated from it, can be WHATEVER THE HELL 999dice wants and needs the seed to be. Are you on a big winning streak, and feeling lucky, and place a huge bet? Are you on a horrifically bad martingale losing streak, doubling your 5 satoshi bet all the way up to 3.35 bitcoin and praying to god you don't lose AGAIN? **DID YOU CLICK THE BUTTON TO GET THE HASH BEFORE YOU BET?**

No? Oh, ok then - sorry - you lost the roll. I guess it was just really bad luck. Do you want to validate that it was actually a losing roll and make sure we aren't cheating? Ok, here's the server seed we used, right there on the hard to find and not explained how to get there validation page, you can use that with the client seed and the bet number and you can validate and see clearly that it all matches up. See? We aren't cheating.

Wait, hold on a second... how the hell do you know that seed wasn't created AFTER you clicked the bet button and the site decided it was time for you to lose? YOU CAN'T. SUCK IT. It is utterly impossible. Because since there's a new hash with every bet, if you didn't request the hash before that crippling losing bet, piss off loser, you can't prove a thing. Once you click bet, if you didn’t copy/screenshot the hash that proves they did not generate the seed AFTER you clicked bet, it's gone. With no way to EVER. PROVE. ANYTHING.

Essentially, unless you're willing to verify everything each time, they could be cheating you.
5106  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 999DICE is totally not fair. (SCAM) on: December 12, 2016, 06:31:43 PM
Streaks are not any indication of a casino scamming players however 999dice was already proven to be a scam; their provably fair was only legitimate when you looked at it.

However, in the future, one should be careful of accusations based purely on anecdotal evidence since it is not concrete and can lead to many many faulty claims.

5111  Other / Meta / Re: Board suggestion - Tasks? on: December 09, 2016, 10:16:46 PM
Not spam per se, but inappropriate use of board slots. There are so many of these tasks that are easy to complete and pay a couple of bucks that attract the mobs of desperate users. This events to these threads (like Lauda said, signature campaigns, tasks or spammy topics in general) being bumped to the top repeatedly, pushing actual services that are scarce, like looking for a developer or mod, someone offering their visual design skills, or someone offering their coding service.

This, I agree with. Services should not be filled to the brim with menial tasks that reward the users with 5 cents, or something ridiculously small. Sign-ups and things of that variety don't qualify as services in my book. Actual work (software, translations, etc.) would belong in those sections.

I find that response surprising. Near the start of the year, just after bitmixer became CFNP, pretty much the only open campaign was YoBit, and i could literally see the spammers in distress. It was hilarious.

Now, tons of altcoin and normal bitcoin sig campaigns are open and thriving, paying more than ever.

But I don't think signature campaigns should have their own board, because this will basically be a message that the forum and it's mods+admins openly support campaigns, which mostly contribute to spam.

This is something I disagree with. Creating a board strictly for signature campaigns does not mean that mods and admins condone campaigns. It simply shifts the threads to another location, which could clear up spam. After all, we have another example - the Investor-based games section. Just because they created a section for that does not mean that BCT staff condones ponzis and HYIPS - they simply created that section to avoid flooding the Gambling section with threads of this kind.

However, despite this, I'm not sure about the creation of such a section. Is there enough traffic to justify leaving the raw Service threads by themselves in a section? (It may be empty, much like the Marketplace section - which most people probably haven't even found yet!)
5112  Other / Meta / Re: [SMAS] Signature Managers against Spam (light version) on: December 09, 2016, 10:09:15 PM
So....that's what this is about.  Where do I find this list of acceptable threads and permitted replies?...and who maintains this list?

Nowhere; no one. It's on a case-by-case basis for each reply though generally mega-thread replies are just spam.

Is that "unspoken" list of permitted threads and responses something that the SMAS syndicate controls exclusively or is there a deeper level of censorship here?

No - it is my personal opinion that choosing to post in a thread where there are hundreds of redundant replies is not useful to the forum. You can try to argue that you're answering a question or adding more information, but in reality, we all know that it's completely pointless to reply in the thread since probably every little bit of information has already been squeezed out of the dried husk of a "discussion" that is left.

And, I know that most campaigns have a minimum post requirement, but I was unaware that SMAS also requires short responses....

What do you mean?

Who is in charge of deciding what thread is useful and what questions are permissible?

The campaign manager, the board moderators, the global moderators, the admins.

Is the SMAS organization's opinion the leading authority on that subject, or will other opinions be allowed without retaliation?

The leading authority in the signature campaigns the managers are regulating, yes. If there is any conflict, a reply can be made if given proper justification.

To summarize my position, I don't think that one small group should be allowed to dictate which thread gets bumped and which thread gets ostracized, especially when there are obvious conflicts of interest....That sort of behavior leads to corruption, even if corruption wasn't already the motivating factor.

This small group manages a variety of campaigns. The campaigns are managed at their discretion. If they think that you are shitposting/spamming, then you will be removed. It's as simple as that. Conflicts of interest are bound to happen, but you can't prevent that without enslaving the entire forum.

Cjmoles:  You can do whatever you like within the rules of this forum.  This thread has to do with campaign managers cutting down on shitposting, which they are entitled--and in my opinion,  should--do.  Does that sound reasonable?  These shitposters have gotten out of hand.

These campaign managers are pooling together under a common interest - to fight against spam. There shouldn't be anything negative about it. Besides, if campaign managers manage the campaign through their own discretion. If there's an issue with that, then simply join a different campaign. After all, if all the managers here trust each other, that's their choice - and they can moderate accordingly.

My response was not an attack on you....It was simply a statement of fact.  I just think it's peculiar that my post quality is criticized by your group while it can be easily demonstrated that those criticizing my post activity have post activity which is far inferior, yet they are favored by the SMAS syndicate....It makes me wonder what one has to do to get on that special secret list of acceptable spammers....that's all.  What favors or donations does one have to commit to in order to avoid being targeted?

Perhaps a start would be the following: not quoting huge replies and flooding up the page, not posting recycled content in threads that have vague/general questions and hundreds of replies already (because really, even if you're "answering a question" or "adding information" it's either already been done before or is entirely pointless)

At a certain point in those threads, there is no discussion anymore and it's just a cyclic process of spammers feeding other spammers (or themselves) and whether you spam or not doesn't matter - participation in those threads is almost never useful. There are of course exceptions but replying to a "how to win at the gambling???" thread is pretty low.

And as for huge quotes: nobody wants to see that. Either snip it or split the quotes.
5116  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hackahammer defaulted loan on: December 08, 2016, 01:30:53 AM
I agree that bitcointalk accounts should not be used as collateral.  Since they are free to create, you are most likely to have the account dumped on you (loanee will just create another account) and then you are responsible to sell it.  Plus you run the risk of default trust members tagging the account since it defaulted.

I have a point to make about accepting accounts as collateral: they should not have any intrinsic value behind them but should serve as a way to remove influence from potential scammers. Accept them as collateral only if you were to accept a no-collateral loan from the user with the same amount requested.

For example, if a user requests a loan to you providing their account as collateral with an amount of 0.01 BTC.

If you were willing to offer them a no-collateral loan with the amount of 0.01 BTC, then accept their account as collateral - in case it is a disguised account sale. If not, then you simply disregard the loan request.

Thoughts?

Let's see.....

actmyname: 58 posts  (November 23, 2016 to December 01, 2016)

52 < 58...right?

So, 52 posts is "quite a numerous amount" and subject to criticism, but 58 posts, most of which are only minutes apart, in the same period is fine?  I don't get your logic there.  And, if you're insinuating that my posts aren't as constructive as yours, then maybe you should re-examine them.

I figured you were going to talk about my post history. It's typical to change the subject when threatened. I would still like to say that your posts have been consistently made in only the last week of each month. Perhaps there are a few outliers to catch the activity period, but for the most part, you post only within that time period. This has been the case since June until now.

And I do understand: many of those posts are not constructive. The reason being they are in the Games & Rounds section; there have been a significant amount of promotions in that week, and of course I couldn't resist taking part in them. Am I not allowed to do so?

Why should we stop at last month, by the way?

From October 23 to October 30 {

cjmoles: 122 posts
actmyname: 30 posts

}

Ah, but that's being too harsh! Let's drop it down to from October 23 to October 27.

cjmoles: 90 posts
actmyname: 30 posts

Much better.

Let's fetch some quotes for fun

I enjoy gambling because I enjoy math.  So, my goal when I am gambling is to use my math skills to play as long as I can without going broke....My ultimate aim is to be skillful enough to make a living off my gambling so that I wouldn't have to do anything else in life accept play games for money....I learned young that math was the number one most important skill to master to achieve this type of goal so I made sure I learned me some math!

At this point in my life my goal is to have fun while utilizing the poker skills I've developed over the years.  My hopes are to be a part of a movement that integrates bitcoin into a poker platform that cannot be controlled by state agencies.  The events that took place in 2011 on "Black Friday" demonstrated the need to be able to fund our hobbies in a decentralized manner.  The integration of bitcoin and poker promotes a level of freedom that makes that goal possible and it's very exciting to be a part of it.

I approach gambling with the goal of earning a living while doing something I really enjoy.  I mainly play poker but I do seize the opportunity to make wagers on events that provide a favorable expected value. I keep my game tight and am constantly reviewing my game for leaks.  I treat my play like a job.

My goal is to build up my cryptocurrency holdings as much as possible.  I will play poker to increase my bankroll then take those profits and invest them on the exchange markets, ICO's, crowdfunds,....etc  I will go back and forth between the different venues throughout my session building my portfolio daily.  I have done quite well getting into the more innovative startups early....I use my cryptocurrency profits to enter the higher cost tourneys and rinse, wash, repeat!  It's almost free money doing the things that I really enjoy doing.

You seem to really love that thread.

I have fun with these faucets....I've never won the big amount but I have won a few of the medium amounts.  I deposit a few bucks every week for the lottery, but I've never won it....been playing for quite awhile too.  But, it's always fun for me to check in each Sunday to see if I've won the lottery....I don't gamble there seriously though....just play the lottery and spin the faucets when I'm bored between poker hands.

Stopped by and checked it out.  I didn't play but I watched others play....there were only two other players playing so I didn't bother.  Seemed simple enough.  Maybe I will check it out later when there are more players and the pots get larger.  What's the house juice, anyway?  I forgot to look.

Yes...I agree.  It would be helpful to know before hand if the site requires personal information or not....A category label would be nice.  I like the site though....It's convenient to be able to find all the information we need in one place.

I'm from a poor country and Bitcoin helps me, does that count? Other alt coins help me too, and my family.
Bitcoin is money and money is almighty.

It would be interesting to hear your story.  How does bitcoin help you?  How do you use it?  What is it about bitcoin that makes providing for your family easier?  Is it the fact that you can earn some easily on the internet, or does it open new avenues for you to take advantage of opportunities that weren't available to you before?  Tell your story.

See, the above criticism is exactly why I was curious....some people are overly criticized while others are given a pass.  I was just wondering if there was some sort of secret procedure, or group, that is handing out these passes....that's all.

Do you have an example? As far as I can tell, all the blacklisted members are members who deserve to be there.

P.S. an ad-hominem attack response targeting my post history would not be the correct reply.

Offering a bitcoin wallet as collateral for a loan - never seen this one before. Makes sense, I guess. You could offer up an empty wallet for a free 0.01. What a hell of a deal!

5120  Other / Meta / Re: [SMAS] Signature Managers against Spam (light version) on: December 06, 2016, 10:21:46 PM
I'm am just curious: will there be a system by which we can secretly send some bitcoin to an address in order to avoid getting targeted by these blacklists?  Or, will there be any other system put in place as an assurance that members wont indiscriminately be placed on these lists?

Users are placed on the blacklist when they are spammers. Are you afraid of being labeled as one such?

Why would you possibly need any insurance if you were to simply post quality replies? That being said... your post history is quite interesting. It seems you only post in the final week of the month... and quite a numerous amount, I must say! Is that because your signature campaign is monthly, and you need to pump out posts for the quota?

If the idea were implemented (which it won't) then quite simply no one (significant enough) would be on the blacklist. Anyone that wants to continue shitposting will do so, with a simple one-time fee. But I don't think SMAS would be very keen to bribery attempts.
