September 1st, look's like I'll finally be able to spend my first bit coin and it couldn't go to a better forward thinking company and ceo.

They've probavbly just taken the bitcoin servers down for maintenance. Its normal practice in the IT industry overweekends.

You need to learn how to relax your body and mind as you prepare it for sleep each night. I'd recommend a brisk 15 minute walk in the fresh air an hour before you are scheduled to retire to bed, afterwhich a moderately warm beverage of cocoa.

I ideal of a bitcoin that you can spend across the internet is a most beautiful concept. However, the technology behind the concept fails it. Excessive usage charges - I don't get charged each time I use my debit card. Security - my bank guarantees my funds even if they screw up. Speed - it takes seconds to withdraw cash or process a payment by Debit/Credit card. No confirmations needed. My money is accepted around the world at almost each and every merchant - I tried to buy a basket of goods last week with bitcoin and the Marchand couldn't be bothered. So I left. See other thread. No one will ever use or accept bit coin until these problems are addressed immediately.

I would like to buy the 4th one.
Why? What's so great about fake breasts?

Shitty gambling adverts from people's signatures. You do nothing to promote a positive all inclusive image of Bitcoin by pandering and trying to profit from others vices/addictions.

Sorry but I think the OP has a point. I think the fees should be proportionate to the money being transferred maybe multiplied by the time to confirm. I'm not a mathematician but there must be someone to workout a formulae.

Hmm on reflection I guess I should have said, "I will come back tomorrow will you have the Bitcoin machine then?" I was just so surprised by his reaction that I didn't know what to do or think on the spot in front of everyone.

Numerous ways. For example the Sun stops shining. ISIS take over the bit coin servers.

But the customers won't come with their Bitcoins if the merchants don't have the means or can't be bothered to process the transaction. Why proudly advertise yourself* as accepting Bitcoins then acting like you can't be arsed?
*last year this merchant was in the newspapers proclaiming acceptance of Bitcoins.

There's only one place near me where I can spend my hard earned Bitcoins in a public store. So after only recently finally sorting out my paper and online wallets, I thought that today I would attempt to spend some mBTC in public for the first time. After entering the bustling convenience store I loudly proclaimed with pride to merchant, "Can I pay by Bitcoin here?" After initially expecting a most enthusiast reply to my question, imagine my startled surprise when he replied "Um yes...", "...but I don't have the machine here". He then looks around at the other customers listening and shuffles on his feet. I then say, "okay then I'll take my business elsewhere" before I promptly left leaving my goods behind.
If merchants aren't prepared to adequately provide the means for customers to pay with Bitcoin then this monetary revolution will never take off. I'll be taking my Bitcoins and business elsewhere.

It's true, the media could be used by the bad guys to scare the masses out of Bitcoin. The Bitcoin community should be aware of this and operate our own publicity campaign to counter any negative smears. How about some Radio and TV ads.
Set up an official campaign for this and I will donate $1, I'm sure there are others who will do the same. Let's get the public on board.
Wow $1. Go you.

I thought Iceland were first with the auroacoin.

Sadly Bit coin needs more dedicated core devs for sure.

That fellas a pioneer for sure. He's stealing a march on Amazon.

I'd love to have this problem.

Absolutely. Definitely. No maybe.

It's a serious threat to the bit coin ecosystem if Russia or China decide to switch off their servers.

I'm more realistic. I think 2013 was the peak in price and we've finally reached bit coins true stable value. Not much venture capitalists can of with adoption and price now.
