I believed you also watch how the government dismantled cameras, light and declared war on peaceful protesters holding flag and singing the national anthem at lekki toll gate.

Indeed it was a bizarre sight to see. The innocent youths of Nigeria just go like that, it is unfortunate. I heard the Nigerian youths are asking that the youths should be immortalized there with the name of lekki toll gate change as #endSars protestants.

5124  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy and Social Media: The Nigerian Story on #endSARS on: October 22, 2020, 12:41:41 PM

It’s as simple as ABC the people don’t want the activities of SARS among them again because these so called SARS unit has caused more of pain and nuisance  to the people than security for lives and property.

The protest might have started with the #endSars but it is not just all about it. Certain things need to be corrected and that is why the youths have not gone off the streets despite the usual promise of the government to have heard the request of the protest.

The youths are unrest and has vowed to put an end to the bad government in Nigeria.

This is the reality. The protest is beginning to request for a good Nigeria. Corruption, lies and lack of accountability is the waves that blows in the system. No jobs is an understatement, many things need to be worked on.

The youths are requesting that citizens should be treated with utmost care and not dehumanizing treatment.
I heard in the news now that the Inspector General of Police has ordered the withdrawal of police from people who are not suppose to have police escorts except government houses and National Assembly.

The people who are known as the highs, VIP etc shouldn't be seen with police attached to them whether armed or not. This is just the beginning of going out to ask for sane governance.

5127  Other / Beginners & Help / Humility is not Stupidity on: October 21, 2020, 01:40:29 PM
They say pride is one major undoing of a fall.

Meaning if you are a proud person, the fall is just waiting or the ending is usually not positive. Pride can be seen as the opposite of humility.
Humility therefore, is an important factor in a personality. It is that factor that tries to balance our ego. It either makes you likeable or otherwise.

Quote
It's really important to practice humility, to develop into a better leader and a better person. Humility and vulnerability make us more likeable.
.
https://www.inc.com/dave-kerpen/15-quotes-that-remind-us-of-the-awesome-power-of-humility.html

It is simple as we all have experienced some people who are not humble and perhaps if we liked them or not.

Humility will always bring you more gains than hurt. Both in the real world and here that seem faceless (but certainly with emotions). For example on the forum, I have had jetcash merit me for just admitting to a simple clarification
here

This is just a few examples of the numerous I should assume by others who might have been beneficiaries of humility that they have unintentionally displayed. Therefore, if you don't have the humble attitude, you can try to adjust into it, it is possible because change is constant. But in being humble, don't be stupid.

It takes humiliation to teach us the virtues of humility.

Our fall shouldn't be the end of us. Our ability to work out our mistakes makes us strong people because tough times don't last but tough people do. If you are eating on the floor, be confident in your struggle, put more effort and you will get there at the top. Don't allow your humiliation make you turn your back on humility.

There is always a ripping time for a humble fellow.
Humility can gets the other person to think of you as being foolish. Humility come with some language or phrase and when used, the other arrogant receiver might see you as a weak fellow but never mind to use words such as these below:
Thanks, I'm sorry, please, is my mistake, I admit my wrong, forgive me, you are welcome, you are kind, you are right etc

Remember not to be wise where ignorance is bliss or the order around.

There are QUOTES that are ASSOCIATED with HUMILITY

1. Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up. Jesse Jackson

2. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less. -C. S. Lewis

3. Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real. -Thomas Merton

4. "Thank you" is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding. -Alice Walker

5. The greatest friend of truth is Time, her greatest enemy is Prejudice, and her constant companion is Humility. -Charles Caleb Colton

6. The proud man can learn humility, but he will be proud of it. -Mignon McLaughlin

7. Real genius is nothing else but the supernatural virtue of humility in the domain of thought. -Simone Weil

8. Humility is really important because it keeps you fresh and new. -Steven Tyler

9. Humility, that low, sweet root, from which all heavenly virtues shoot. -Thomas Moore

10. Humility is throwing oneself away in complete concentration on something or someone else. Madeleine L'Engle

11. Pride must die in you, or nothing of heaven can live in you. Andrew Murray, Humility

12. Humility is nothing but truth, and pride is nothing but lying. St. Vincent de Paul

13. One cannot be humble and aware of oneself at the same time. Madeleine L'Engle, A Circle of Quiet

14. Selflessness is humility. Humility and freedom go hand in hand. Only a humble person can be free. -Jeff Wilson

15. Have more humility. Remember you don't know the limits of your own abilities. Successful or not, if you keep pushing beyond yourself, you will enrich your own life--and maybe even please a few strangers.--A.L. Kennedy
5128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Buy Bitcoin in Africa on: October 20, 2020, 06:33:40 PM
Compare to before, i think there are vast options available for Africans to be able to buy btc, i remember those days when I use to buy from local resellers in my country, it was very risky because you have to transact in their website and the chances of not receiving the btc is very high,

Well as far for bitcoin is concerned and other popular coins, it is no longer an issue to buy or sell it. In the past it could be an issue with websites but some groups in different countries do sell and buy within themselves but with a middle person to stand for the transactions done either a trusted person like escrow as it can be done on this forum too.
5129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your plans for the coming bull on: October 20, 2020, 06:04:09 PM
We're you joining campaigns to earn funds or were you buying into their tokens?

I sold at $10k during the fall last time but I remember being busy at the time so it was an easy move to make. I still held some funds in crypto but cashed out the rest and rebought around $6k. I don't think I'll get that lucky this time I do it and I'll probably aim for if the price reaches a few hundred thousand to start selling -- if it doesn't reach that far and it cashes I won't feel too bad.

I'd spend your time now trying to accumulate stuff before the run. If you wait for then you'll probably make less in BTC terms..

I can relate to this very well. Just like enjoying the ride up and perhaps expecting the $100,000 range to hit it, maybe you wouldn't have sold at such high too. I think this is what happens when we have not understood the way the market moves. When we are not prepared which is usually because of lack of knowledge that the market is not always one direction. When we don't know that few minutes, it is up there hanging out your profit and the next minutes it has turned to losses. Is experience and strategy that can guide to the exit time.
5130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between DeFi and open banking? on: October 20, 2020, 05:04:58 PM
Data is the centre point to open banking and DeFi. Banks is third party extended
The DeFi is all coded and made public through the blockchain. So only when accessed, you can be privileged to it.
5131  Economy / Exchanges / Re: All Exchangers scamming now on: October 20, 2020, 04:00:53 PM
The title is so wrong, you cannot tag all exchanges as scammer. There are some that are legit and have passed the test of time. It depends on where you are trading and you cannot use one bad experience to judge others.

I couldn't understand the generation of exchanges as scammers. Some exchanges have distinguished themselves so well that they are the choice for high percentage of traders. Like kucoin, binance, etc.
5132  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have Good advice for investors on: October 20, 2020, 03:29:52 PM
To hope that you will be lucky in trading, provided that you have no experience in this business - this is simply stupid. Even if the first few days you will have positive results in trading, it will be only because the market for this particular currency pair is going up, as soon as the direction of the market movement changes, you will lose your income and start to go into the red.

Such feeling is just to deceive oneself because as you said, if the market do a turn around of trend, it will definitely expose the lack of training and experience by the trader. So, trading shouldn't be seen as something depending on luck. Luck don't work to have steady profit.
5133  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy and Social Media: The Nigerian Story on #endSARS on: October 20, 2020, 01:05:06 PM

It was the spot that broke GEJ down during that January 1st fuel price increase demonstration. I think that was in 2010 or so.

It was in 2012 in January. I remember it was a news that work Nigerians up on the that new year day and GEJ was being criticised for not allowing the festive period to be over, to allow people settle back into their base because that news instantly increased transportation fee to about 100%. The good thing was that GEJ listened and continued with status quo then.

I was totally in support of this endsars protest but it has shifted from what it was supposed to be to something else, if it has gotten to the extent of stopping people from going about their businesses, it's no longer peaceful in my honest opinion.

Nna, you still need to be supporting this struggle. If the protest don't affect economic activities, government won't listen to it. But because it affect the economic inflow where they can get money to steal more then they can start listening. You need to come to reality that it is not all about #endSars but #endbadgovernance. I hope you are living in Nigeria?

The country has really retrogressed in the last 5 years now. It was bad before 5years ago but now worse. How much was bag of rice, cement, fuel, eletricity bill, bread, groundnut, tomatoes to everything you and I can think of plus food stuffs generally when GEJ left and how much are they now brother?

Inflation has taking over the currency and standard of living keeps dropping.

Have you not noticed that the only good roads are the federal roads (just some too because of the policians big cars) The inland roads and connecting roads are dead traps. Nothing is working, let the protest continue until something positive start to happen.

Or how much did you receive from covid-19 palliatives? Maybe you got any, I didn't.
If @CryptopreneurBrainboss  could share palliatives to Nigerians then government should do better to make support, palliatives and benefit of governance go round to crannies and nnoks not to always favour friends and private pockets.

You of course have heard of the news that money for  covid-19 palliatives are being traced to private pocket.

#end bad governance.

It was the height of wickedness for me.

Even with that. And now we are seeing a government that is sensitive to the populace with 100% hike in prices of everything and worst is food stuff.

#And why can't the refineries be put in order. It was part of the agendas of this administration.

#2 Explore New Altcoins
#5 Buy ETH, BNB, and XRP

These are the advise to follow and make profit in cryptocurrency. For the number 2 point, exploring new projects can be very profiting. In this year, despite the corona virus that visited the world, some new projects this year have been good to investors like curio , DIA, cartesi etc. Although curio is not a project for this year but it is berely new to break into the market.

Also etheruem no debate is the best altcoin and better in the group to invest on. Binance is the second in the number 5. Binance is an exchange coin and the exchange is highly active, listing project likely to pull high volume of trade. Ripple, centralized but with active admin.
5135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: End of Defi hype! Time to invest in real business with real products? on: October 20, 2020, 11:41:52 AM
Not quite sure if they are ended already it seems that the DeFi hype just run didn't last long, I've seen multiple DeFi scams I think that most of the investors get scared on investing to it. Let's hope that there would be a real product in the future right now I never seen any valuable.

The lessons of ICO fall has brought many investors to their toes and many won't just put money in every project. Is just like many who have felt the bad side of ponzi schemes would not rush into any new kind of reformed ponzi. DeFi came in a rush, it is an early comers benefit project. Take your profit and wait is what investors have experienced.

defi bubble already burst.
i'm buying old established coins as like Litecoin.
Eth is good too but i worry it will follow DeFi falling.

This seem like the most appropriate kind of investment to keep your investment.
By the way etheruem isn't following DeFi in anyway. Etheruem has different and solid features far against DeFi.
5136  Economy / Economics / Re: Today is the Way when world economy will show on: October 20, 2020, 10:34:14 AM

There is no doubt that the big countries are entering a recession but that's not the end of the world. Probably we are moving towards a financial reset but time will tell when it happens!

I think that financial reset is what the world is going to experience soon. The cause of this is a bit of the inflation that the world has been battling for some time now with job loss..Job loss is a sign that a country's is not doing well in her domestic front as companies will fold up.

Another reason is for me the covid-19 that took the world like a shock. Most countries were not able to carry out their budget plans , no income for anything to be done because of lockdown. Till this time, the countries are still in dilemma on how to take care of the financial need of her people. This is a big challenge and a financial reset because people can't survive in the hard time like this.

I strongly believe exchanges are playing a negative role in the space, mainly because of price manipulation. And if -like in any society- evil doers are not going to pay a heavy price, we all stand a lesser chance to succeed in our investment.

Every situation is an opportunity for scammers to take advantage. You don't expect that all exchanges can be trusted. I have witnessed a bad one myself but maybe out of my own mistake. To follow the known and reputable exchanges by other people is a little fair than trying a luck to a new and inexperienced exchange.

They say political power belongs to the people. This has been demonstrated in Africa during the Arab Spring that started in Tunisia to Egypt, Libya and sacked the then governments with force.

The Arab Spring was a series of anti-government protests, uprisings, and armed rebellions that spread across much of the Arab world in the early 2010s. It began in response to oppressive regimes and a low standard of living, starting with protests in Tunisia.

a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

Having given this background, It looks like the Nigerian people are beginning to wake up to this integral ingredient of democracy. The current wave of uninterrupted democratic governance by the military in Nigeria started in 1999. By that time till 2010/11, it was called nascent democracy. A time that it was assumed a learning stage of democracy in the Nigerian polity and political space.

Nigeria during this time has her first major protest in 2012. The people exercised this people oriented power after the then government announced the end of fuel subsidies on New Year's Day, 2012. This massive protest that turned out people, forced that government to rescind and swallow her words on the subsidy remover.

That was at a pack in Ojota, Lagos.

The power belongs to the people is again playing itself out and positively to say. The protest that is tagged #endSars in 48 hours has made the present government to listen and introduced measures to implement the five point demand by the protest.

The protest purpose is to end extrajudicial killings by the police and the unit called SARS. The unit has been accused of extrajudicial killings, extortion and torture, especially of young people.

SARS is an Acronym. And These are The Assigned Duties

Quote
The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) was a Nigerian Police Force unit created in late 1992 to deal with crimes associated with robbery, motor vehicle theft, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and firearms. It was part of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police

Quote
SARS was controversial for its links to extrajudicial killings, extortion, torture, framing, blackmail, kidnapping, illegal organ trade, armed robbery, home invasions, rape of both men & women, child arrests, the invasion of privacy & the destruction of water bodies through the illegal disposal of human remains. After widespread protests in Nigeria and worldwide under the motto "End SARS",the unit was disbanded on 11 October 2020. Inspector General of PoliceM.A. Adamu said that a new unit, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) would replace the SARS. He said that SARS personnel would report to police headquarters for debriefing and examination. Within hours of the announcement, some Nigerians took to Twitter with the hashtag #EndSWAT,and demonstrations continued amid fears that police reform will not materialize.[Talk about Twitter and social media where it started.

However, the five demand of the protest are :

1. Immediate release of all arrested protesters.

2. Justice for all deceased victims of police brutality and appropriate compensations for their families.

3. Setting up an independent body to oversee the investigation and prosecution of all reported police misconduct within a period of 10 days

4. Carrying out psychological evaluation and retaining of all disbanded SARS operatives before they can deployed (this should be verified by an independent body).

5. The government should increase police salary and they should adequately compensated for protecting lives and property of the citizens

The government of the day has however responded and acceded to the demands as it has promised to meet several of the protesters' demands, as well as banning Sars, and "extensive" reform of Nigeria's police service.

The authorities have also vowed to free all those protesters who have been detained.
And that all Sars officers will undergo a psychological and medical examination before further training and redeployment, and that Sars officers will not be redeployed to the unit set up to replace it, the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) team.

The protest that started in the social media by calling out youths and concerned citizens, popular Nigerians, famous musicians and celebrities home and abroad is taking the Nigerian polity to another level as people have been called out to the streets of the Nigerian capital states.

It started with the #endSars and now crippling into different agitation against the wrongs of governance.

We now see #endbadgovernance #endbadroads
#cut down national assembly salary
And many other #tags.
The Nigerian people just want better life and good government.

The agitation is on, the peaceful protest is yielding results. The world is watching too.

We hope for good governance, the
people are speaking.

The whales don't rely on your analysis or any other to keep an order. A whale's order is capable of turning the direction of price without analysis.

i will not post here anymore.
sad but what i can do ,nothing!

You need to clear more on this. You mean not posting your analysis anymore or making post on the forum ? But whatever the meaning, I don't think it will matter to many users.

The reason that it won't matter is that, there are many more users that post bitcoin analysis.
