Here's a new Rand Paul 2016 promo video that just came out that I'd like for the Bitcoiners of the world to check out:

just under 6 mins

WTF did i just see.. MSNBC "pundits" almost endorsing rand paul.
My guess is they're trying to stoke division in the GOP circles but at the same time, these leftists do like it when they can get a republican to speak on some of their issues. That's what Rand Paul is is a hybrid. You can see him unveil his lefty libertarian elements in a populist way here just like he's done for those that would agree w/ him from the right. Check out this recent discussion (today) on the Roland Martin Show (has pretty big black following and from the south) where the subtitle, "Stuck on stupid partisans who attack Rand Paul need to stop tripping" describes the content when Rand Paul was being discussed. On one hand you have partisan liberal hacks that realize that Rand is stepping in their territory with substantive policy efforts and they're trying to steer their people away from at saying that it's just posturing or trying to play the black folk. Martin and people like him are the ones that are clearing the smoke so more black folks seeing that you can work w/ those that agree w/ you on a few issues. One guy on the panel likened some of these blacks that say you can't work w/ Paul cause he's white or is a republican by saying that: when slaves wanted to be free they didn't turn down help from those that were part of the southern underground railroad. It's pretty animating to hear these folks talk about Rand considering Rand has made criminal justice reform issues a focal point in his libertarian message. Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln9v5lo0XTQ#t=498

Hey, if this is what it takes to really get the old gold bugs to come into the 21st century in their thinking, then so be it. Go Icoin! Let them pop their cherries and soon they'll get up to speed. At some point the flaws will manifest and Bitcoin will be their rescue valve. Either that or they just go back to staring at their image in their bars.

In the wake of this big ebola virus outbreak we certainly can't have wide open borders because there's no guarantee that this or some other obscure virus won't make its way through there. Also, if these people really want the freedom that America allegedly offers them, then they better be willing to bust their asses to get up to speed and pay their own way. It's just poor timing considering everything else that's going on in the world and since it has been a scheme orchestrated by Team Obama, that is a very threatening thing to all Americans.

Yeah, this is one of the main topics of discussion on our sports radio powerhouse here in metro Detroit and I'm sure all over the country. Yep, it's the media trying to overwhelm the average sports fans out there w/ some of their political correctness and spread the straight guilt like they did the white guilt in past times. I'm used to this bullshit but I'm pretty sure the average avid sports person and specifically the NFL person isn't. The main theme here is that the gay person can't be at fault for starting this and then a 'normal' writer/commentator calling it what it is and getting away with such progressive blasphemy in modern times. Frankly, I'm sick of people tip-toeing around anyone that is deemed the potential to be offended by something. Man up or gtfo.

are the FBI well trained and physically fit in the main part, or like many cops are they donuts eaten' fat bastard idiots ? 'law enforcement' switched to 'national security'?

their copywriter is out of control!!! our tax dollars are paying her salary .
I think they have an over abundance of resources and if they don't use it all, they can't justify getting more next year. The best way to justify not only their existence and more money is to drum up a facade of stopping terrorism that they know the media will perpetuate to the ignorant public. I'm sure most if not all those that they're entrapping and setting up aren't angels but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth to know they're playing politics instead of being serious about a supposed terrorist threat. In fact, Free Talk Live was just talking about this very same issue on Saturday night and some of the stories they were discussing was agents using visits to strip clubs and alcohol to gin up some of these youngsters to do their bidding so they could get caught and pad the arrest numbers.

I'm all for open borders in a purely free market environment but we're miles away from that...like the distance from the earth to the sun in terms of reality. The current welfare state in America is vastly over-bloated and that's before you start inviting everyone and their brother here to join in on it. The visa program just needs to be fixed so the migrants can work and help the local economy. The latest immigration debacle that is on everyone's mind is largely a concerted campaign by Obama to overrun this country as fast as possible w/ immigrants that ordinarily wouldn't even be coming here in such numbers. And, damn near all of these people are coming w/ the sole initial intention of going on state and federal services which is the main thing that is hurting their cause. Very few countries allow people to walk in their back door and foot their bill with all the bells and whistles. America is in no shape to be doing this at this time despite whatever humanitarian spin anyone tries to put on this. A stagnant and faltering economy can't support the poorest of the world in waves like is being perpetrated.

I think bush has the best chances of winning as his family is one of the more politically powerful families in America.
Yeah, I guess it would matter as to whom the America people are sick of more, the Bushes or the Clintons (I'm not really even sold on her running yet). But frankly, I can't see the GOP base turning out it in droves for a Bush and Rand will be too popular for people to settle on Bush as the nominee.
I think if Clinton were to win the nomination then the GOP would likely teat her to shreds with her handling of bengazadi.
There's more to it than that but yeah, Rand will smoke her like a joint.
The Clintons have gone through a lot of controversy, I am surprised that they still have the amount of political power that they do.
When Bill was running back in the 90s, his minions swooped into democratic party office positions (state and district chairs, vice chairs, secretaries, district and state cmte people - the major voting members in local and state parties throughout the country) but was taken over by the Obama community organizers in many areas which gave Obama the nod over Hillary back in '08. Also, through Clinton's Presidency there were a lot of young media personalities that were making their 'come up' during those times that are now seasoned mainstream media mouth pieces on the shows that the "informed drones" frequent for their news. Lastly, the Clintons have a significant history of involvement in criminal syndicates stemming from back at his time as Governor of Arkansas. Many people around them have been indicted and/or served time in prison for the savings and loans scandal, died under suspicious circumstances and we all know about the women that were sexually exploited. Here's some starter links for ya if you're interested to know what lies beneath the surface w/ the Clintons: http://circumspectnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/3-COMPROMISED-Clinton-Bush-CIA.pdf or the cliff notes - http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0fc_1172782399. There's much more to discuss about the Clinton's past but that's for another thread. Rand has already called out both of them on a few occasions and appears ready to demolish Hillary in debate if he can take her on in the general election

@chef ramsay

What's Rand opinion on foreign politic ? I find this article and i find more and more that some people in the libertarian community turn bad:

"It’s hard for me to explain the absurdity of Putin’s libertarians from my perspective. (I live in Ukraine.) It’s like libertarians defending North Korea and claiming that South Korea is a American puppet with US military bases. Certainly the military base is there, but . . . . You get the idea."

http://romaninukraine.com/email-to-a-putin-libertarian/
I would say that many of the people attracted to the Ron Paul libertarian message did so because of the non-interventionist focal point of it that he espoused during his campaigns and beyond. To most people, it came off as blame America first when all it really was was calling it like it is. Problem is, the media of all types (right, left, you name it) was able to demagogue this vein of libertarianism and turn people off to it. Only recently have the people grown tired of foreign intervention as things are getting worse for the average American household. That's how Ron Paul went down in the GOP primary: he was lambasted religiously on Fox and all the major radio talk shows to the tune of hundreds of millions of $ in negative press to republican party primary voters mostly based upon the blame America first meme despite most of these republicans liking everything else he stood for. Believe me, I've dealt w/ this first hand being Pauler.

On to Rand, I'd say he's much like his dad but is better at not giving up his full hand when speaking to the press. A professor goes on and on while cunning fox like Rand keeps things more closer to the vest and only reveals that which will make his issues sound good to the public and keeping them free of media demagoguery. Give a man a rope and he'll hang himself with it - Rand saw what his dad went through and I'm sure he's on a mission of sorts to not only promote liberty but to also make his dad's legacy immaculate. And, we have seen Rand make major inroads in making the Republican party more restrained in making moves abroad. No longer is it the neocon only version of the GOP as the focal point. In fact, whenever the McCain's of the GOP open their mouths, it pushes the average republican more into the Paul camp. If you're asking me what I see in Rand that is meaningful for the world, I'd say he'd likely reign in the CIA and not allow them to play covert games all over the world while shipping weapons, drugs and god knows what else to all these terror cells to get them ready to destabilize certain areas prompting more formal US involvement creating more death and MIC profits. And, then there's the libertarian domestic approach that the USA needs to once again look like it's past prosperous self.

Interesting perspective on the Gaza tunnels:

Quote
Gaza Tunnels: Used in War, But Built for Economy
Israel's Blockade Was the Birth of Gaza Tunnel System

Israeli officials are making much of the “terror tunnels” coming out of the Gaza Strip into neighboring Israel and Egypt, and presenting the countless number as proof of Hamas’ aggressive intentions toward the two nations.

Yet a casual look at the history of the Gaza tunnel system reveals they were built not for use in war, but for use in peacetime, as a reaction to Israel’s economic blockade, which at times got so intense that simple products like chocolate and noodles were banned as “processed” foods.

The tunnels overwhelmingly go to Egypt, not Israel, and the strip’s entire economy for almost a decade has been built around bringing everything from iPods to entire automobiles into the strip underground, and away from prying eyes.

5155  Other / Politics & Society / Re: White House: Republicans May Push to Impeach Obama If They Get the Chance on: July 27, 2014, 05:52:54 PM
That would mean absolutely nothing for our day lives.
I'm hesitant to even try to impeach until after the midterm elections and even then, Obama and his media would jive up his base that are sitting back right now by using skin coloring issue. It's almost like a Catch-22 but the bleeding needs to stop and it seems Obama is racing full speed ahead to transform America to his final stages before he's out of office. At minimum, the republican leadership needs to shut the purse off if they're serious about stopping this out of control spending and deterioration of most aspects of what's going on now.
5156  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-27] Video: CoinSummit London 2014 - Speeding Consumer Adoption on: July 27, 2014, 05:24:59 PM
One interesting thing about merchants accepting BTC that I knew about but never fully respected was the whole chargeback thing. In addition to the credit/debit cards costing ~3% or so, the fraud departments in these businesses that deal w/ chargebacks actually rack up an additional ~3% or more meaning the actual savings for taking BTC is actually 6-7%. The more companies/corporations that become hip to that or are notified about that when being pitched for BTC acceptance, the better. That's where part or most of the BTC discount can come into play.

Berlin, London, Singapore, New York are all credible and likely candidates
It's tough to narrow down one location as the likely hub when all of these are great choices, so I'd say you're gonna have hot pockets in many of these metropolises and they'll keep expanding from there. I'd really like to see Africa become one of these as a whole considering there's so many there that need to be banked and lifted up.

It might be useful for merchant only in the case BTC price will go up and this will create an extra gain.
Merchants have everything to gain by accepting it while giving discounts as there's already a normal markup on most items. So, cut it enough for people to want to trade you their Bitcoin for products and the more this happens and these merchants keep even a small amount of their Bitcoin sales in house as time goes by, there's no way the Bitcoin doesn't appreciate. People are suckers for deals and most women have value savers tickets on their key chains for a reason.
