5141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 14, 2020, 02:17:50 PM
Northeast United FC is now at the 9th position. I think that this is their worst ever performance. They never had this much bad ranking, since the start of the ISL. You can't really blame them though. Because of the unrest going on in Assam, some of their matches were postponed and it was very difficult for them to organize training sessions.
5142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the altcoin market being manipulated in 2020? on: January 14, 2020, 02:03:37 PM
The situation is changing, but it will be better to wait for some more time, before jumping in to the altcoin market. I would say that almost 90% of the shitcoins have become obsolete now. Their promoters became rich through multiple pump-and-dump cycles involving multiple coins and now they have exited the sector. But the remaining 10% are still active. Perhaps we need to wait for another year.
5143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Year of changed altcoin discussion mentality on: January 14, 2020, 01:56:13 PM
Well, you are right as we have heard so many negative talks about Altcoin but still yet before one dives in into anything it's really good we check before concluding as the market is coming up slowly.

The users are getting much more mature and the altcoin market is moving towards some sort of consolidation, after more than two years of extreme fragmentation. Shitcoins are slowly dying out (not before making the promoters of such coins filthy rich) and the best alts have started giving good returns to all those invested in them and stayed put.
5144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 14, 2020, 01:40:53 PM
It seems match is already slipped away from India now as they are 110/0 in 14 overs and now just require 147 runs in 36 overs with 10 wickets in hand. It should be very easy chase for them now as Warner and Finch are hammering the bowlers everywhere. Can India turnaround from here?

The Indian captain made the mistake of sticking on with the pace bowlers. Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Shami were conceding a lot of runs, and the Australian batsmen (David Warner and Aaron Finch) were making use of their pace to score runs. He should have called the spinners earlier. The run rate dipped once Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja started their spells.
5145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 14, 2020, 01:20:22 PM
Fair enough, personally i don't mind if Dhoni play in WC. there might be good chance of that management trying Pant and Sanju ( especially Pant) for second WK-batsman (15 men squad)  and Dhoni's spot is already fixed. Still it doesn't justify why Dhoni is not speaking clearly on this matter and he refuse to play in Domestic cricket - Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy, T-20 -

IPL 2020 will start in about three months from now, and the selectors will be closely monitoring the performance of Dhoni when he turns up for the Chennai Super Kings. If he performs well, then there is a good chance that the selectors will name him in the squad, irrespective of any criticism from the others. If the reverse case occurs, then Dhoni may find himself out of the squad.
5146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 14, 2020, 01:14:10 PM
LOL... Australian batsmen treating the Indian bowlers with absolute disdain. After 12 overs, they are 94/0 (run rate of 7.83 per over, with required RR of just 4.28). The number 1 bowler in the world (Bumrah) went for 7 runs per over, while Shardul Thakur conceded 32 from his three overs. But I would rather blame the Indian batsmen. Any total of less than 300 is not defendable at the Wankhede.
5147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 13, 2020, 04:58:52 PM
Its seems almost impossible to fit 110 overs per day, like we discussed before that teams are already struggling to complete their 90 overs quota (in majority match).

This is current game play time ( 90 overs a day and 30 overs each session- 15 overs every hour)
- first session = 2 Hours
- Lunch = 40 mins
- Second session = 2 Hours
- Tea = 20 mins
- Final session =2 Hours
----------------------------------------------
- Rest = 20-40 minutes
- New proposed session = 1.30Hours

So total 7.30 hours of gameplay and give 30-45 minutes extra. Looks tough task for bowlers unless team drastically change their strategy and combination, for example fixed 5-6 regular bowlers.

Well.. if it is not possible to have 110 overs of play per day, then I don't see any point in taking away one day from the total duration. I will give one example. During the last decade, 22 out of the 106 test matches played by India ended as draw. If you reduce the total number of overs from 450 to 360-400, then this 22 would have become 40-45. In the end, the fans will shun test matches and it will negatively impact the popularity of the longer format matches.
5148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin fail if Satoshi is found? on: January 13, 2020, 04:35:55 PM
The BTC980,000 that Satoshi holds in his wallet is like a ticking timebomb. Chances are that Satoshi will never come online to spend those coins. But in the unlikely scenario of that happening, there will be a bloodbath in the market and if so many coins are dumped, then the exchange rates can crash by up to 90% or more. More than the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, it is this scenario that scares me.
5149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why will you invest in something you know nothing about? on: January 13, 2020, 04:28:04 PM
Now this is something that a lot of people did in 2017. There was a lot of hype surrounding altcoins and even the shittiest of the altcoins saw millions of USD worth of investment. It was clear that the hype was not going to be sustained, and in a matter of a few months the bubble burst. Now we have tried investing in unknown coins, the best way to go forward may be to go back to Bitcoin?
5150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and Altcoin Price Movement on: January 13, 2020, 04:21:44 PM
I still believe that there are some altcoins that have potential and also a real platform that keeps them going and growing even though the current price is not much profitable. but there are some potential altcoins, and I think that just focusing on bitcoin isn't right either because the market continues to circulate and gives potential to coins that can make people interested in buying it.

Users continue to focus on Bitcoin, because the alternatives have failed to give a good explanation on their usage. They can't prove that they are better than Bitcoin. And despite all the advances made in technology during all these years, the basic concept remains the same as that in Bitcoin. There are only minor differences in the technology and mining algorithm. So, why anyone should use these altcoins?
5151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 13, 2020, 03:59:30 PM
I did not knew that England got a $1.56 billion deal to broadcast the matches and if that is the case it is a really great deal as the board never got that much amount historically as far as i know and the BCCI is showing the rest of the cricket boards on how to make money which is really great but the doubt with these billion dollar deals is that whether these price will come down on the end user as we need to purchase these events and the prices are increasing too.

Sports channels in India are no longer cheap. If you want to subscribe to the entire Star Sports bouquet, then it can cost you somewhere around $24 per year. Add in Sony/ESPN and that becomes $36 per year. If 100 million households in India are subscribed to these two packages, then it means $3.6 billion in revenues per year, just from the Indian market.
5152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 13, 2020, 03:43:04 PM
Somewhere I read that the North American market (US/Canada) remains an important revenue source for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). However, apart from the IPL, none of the other franchise cricket leagues have managed to penetrate this market. Even for the IPL, the revenues from North America are negligible. Until they are able to penetrate in to markets such as US and China, each one of these leagues will remain heavily dependent on India.
5153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stablecoins a definite solution against a bear market? on: January 13, 2020, 03:32:49 PM
Users need to understand that stablecoins were not designed to remove the problem of volatility. On the other hand, the very first stablecoins were invented in order to get around the restriction of using fiat currency in crypto exchanges (especially in China). Therefore, stablecoins doesn't represent the solution of keeping your wealth secure in a bear market. You need to think about the other options and strategies.
5154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 13, 2020, 03:26:10 PM
The 2020 ICC Men's T20 World Cup is still more than 10 months away, and it will be a bit premature to talk about the team selection for that tournament. I am sure that by that time, a number of new players will come in and some of the familiar faces will fade in to oblivion. Apart from Kohli/Sharma/Bumrah, none of the other spots are 100% decided. And who knows? If the selectors want to give him a grand farewell, then even Mahendra Singh Dhoni may get included in the squad.
5155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NOW the time to get into Ethereum ? on: January 13, 2020, 03:19:45 PM
IMO, this is the worst time to invest in Ethereum. The developers have repeatedly missed important timelines and more and more bugs are coming out in the open, which needs to be resolved immediately. And the ICO/IEO markets are showing no signs of life. We need to remember that the Ethereum bull run of 2017 was mostly caused as a result of the ICO hype.
5156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 13, 2020, 03:12:43 PM
Why can't we have 110 overs per day in test cricket? The matches can start 1:30 hours before the normal time, and it will be possible to get that many overs. For the fast bowlers, obviously it is going to be tough. But many of the present day bowlers have very short run-ups (Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav.etc) and it may be possible for them to deliver 20-25 overs per day without much damage.
5157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to 2020, the year of cryptocurrency bull market. on: January 13, 2020, 03:06:47 PM
We have only around 5 months to go for the next block reward halving event. To tell the truth, the exchange rates haven't increased anyway near my expectation. And this is a bad sign. If the prices don't go up during the next few months, then there will be a major chance of an extended bearish phase for the next few years, in which BTC may breach new record lows.
5158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 13, 2020, 03:00:08 PM
Ind VS Aus 3 ODI series is starting with in 20 hours. Squad is set for both teams and we can hope for good contest as both teams are strong competitors.

Fun Fact : Mitchell Starc featured in 85+ ODI games for Aus but played only 1 ODI in India back in 2010 (Debut series). so his 2nd ODI game in India after 9 long years.

This is going to be very interesting. I want to see how well Mitchell Starc adjust with the Indian conditions. He is someone who depends a lot on pace and swing, and therefore the lack of grass shouldn't matter much. And also, I want to see younger Indian pacers such as Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur bowling against the Australian batsmen. They have performed well against the weaker teams, and this will be a real test.
5159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin still or altcoins on: January 11, 2020, 06:17:26 AM
Putting all my money on bitcoin is more smarter than going for altcoins? I think bitcoin will always surge even if it loses value today, i never think twice about this anymore because in the past if i never switched to altcoin i would have be in big profit today, what do you guys think about my plan? Stupid or 👍

As of now, more than 90% of my portfolio is made up of BTC. This strategy worked for me, because during the last few months many of the altcoins crashed heavily. But as of now, I am thinking about increasing my proportion of the forked coins such as BCH and BSV. These two coins are giving good returns as of now. BSV in particular, went up by 40% during the last 24-hours.
5160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Think Craig Wright is Satoshi and Why That Matters on: January 11, 2020, 05:58:06 AM
I sold all of my BSV when Blockchain.info ended their support for the coin in 2019. Back then, I had to sell them for around BTC0.009 per coin. Now the prices have risen by more than 100%. I still don't believe that Craig Wright has anything to do with Satoshi Nakamoto. But I am open to the idea of investing in this coin. I have invested in BCH and BTG. So why not BSV?
