I really dont know what to expect in this round, a lot of teams came here with a really low performance.

And a few others facing problems.

- Liverpool bad
- Milan bad
- Totenham it was bad and now seems like correct but not so much.
- Chelsea.... sinking
- P$G good.... but with some problems and Mbappe injured.
- Bayern Munich in one of his worst performance in the recent years.
- Real Madrid in a little pothole.

So much interrogants

P$G knocked out of French Cup by Marseille  Grin First they lose first place in the Benfica group, now they leave the French Cup. Hopefully the next stop is a Champions League round of 16 elimination like last year, but this time by Bayern.

In general, I agree with you, there are too many crisis teams and in many pairs it is very difficult to choose a "reliable" favorite.
5162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: February 09, 2023, 11:33:49 PM
Fury will be fighting Usyk on 29th April 2023, I cannot see any reason it will not go ahead because after all the hype about possible UFC bouts, it all comes down to one thing and it is the most important of all when it comes to boxing and that is money talks. If there is money on the table any fight can take place. Fury vs Usyk will definitely take place.

Does anyone still doubt that it is Fury who is delaying the fight?  Cheesy
Very strange behavior for a person who considers Usyk weak, who does not need money, etc. Of course, I understand that Fury has always been the way he is now, but still he is moving towards the circus and exhibition fights. It is a pity that Usyk is a cultured person and rather weakly mocks Fury.

It is enough to look into history to see that there are a million possible reasons for any even already organized fight not to take place. Some boxers can get injured or "injured" (if they want to avoid a fight), some boxers can get depressed or get caught on drugs/doping (I'm not hinting to Fury, I'm just directly saying, hehe). I hope that this fight will take place on April 29th but still I have big doubts about it.
5163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 09, 2023, 11:09:31 PM
Mathematically, this is unrealistic. This is far from 4-5 games. 4th place averages 65% of possible points, which is almost 2 points per game. So if Juventus play perfectly and always take three points and all other teams play as usual, then Juventus will need 13 games to get to fourth place. At 17 games it looks sort of possible, but I think you'll agree that it only looks realistic in theory.
Yes, it's just a matter of calculating the odds, which are certainly very different from what happens in the field. But if Juventus can wipe out all the remaining games they have then they will be in I think. But can they do that? to be honest personally I doubt they will be able to get a perfect win from the 17 matches they played.

Even if we assume that Juventus will be the clear favorite in each of the remaining 17 matches and the chances of winning it will be a stable 1.3 (this is a very bold assumption since the away game against an underdog gives the worst odds), then the probability that Juventus will win all the remaining games will be around one percent. That is, you can expect such an event once in a hundred years. Well, if you take real odds, then even much less often.

Judging by the text broadcast, the game Al-Ahli - Real Madrid was very eventful and it is worth watching the highlights. After the score was 2-1, I started to worry that Real Madrid wanted to give another unpleasant surprise, but in the added minutes the score became 4-1. Formally, a big victory, but in fact the Egyptian club had a chance and Real had to work hard. Well, the final is ahead and I hope that, firstly, Benzema will play, and secondly, Real Madrid will win again.
Modric's missed penalty made my worries a little more but indeed the superiority in terms of performance was clearly the difference in this match. Madrid are really very good and looking at the goals scored in this game all 4 goals scored by young players makes this even better.
They will face Al Hilal in the final later.

I think it's obvious to everyone that this "tournament" is in the nature of friendly games, and Real should take the title without any problems. But in any case, a title is a title, and to get here you must first win the most difficult Champions League. I hope that this cup will please the Real Madrid players and help them regain their confidence.
5166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 09, 2023, 10:47:43 PM
For Manchester United there is no need to try to be at the top of the standings, because if Manchester United targets to be title winners then they will have more difficult pressure. What's more, Manchester United this season has just gotten up with its new coach, so Manchester United doesn't need to target being able to take over Arsenal's position.

Because, with Manchester United being able to be consistent in staying in the top four until the end of the season, of course that is good enough. Therefore, when Manchester United can consistently get good results in every match, then this can also bring him closer to Arsenal.

I think that the United players are already freed from the psychological pressure. After a terrible start to the season, there has been a rebuild of the team and given that even if United finish the season in 4th place it will be considered a success, all other tasks for United are a bonus this season. I think it's nice to play in these conditions and in any case, everyone at United is thinking about how to get higher and not about how not to fall.
5167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: February 09, 2023, 07:50:49 PM
This fight has been dead in the water for weeks and it's all Fury's fault. Apparently everything is signed, they've both agreed terms, and Usyk has even agreed to his fee from Dubai but Tyson hasn't so he's basically trying to milk as much as possible out of this. Quite ridiculous for someone who apparently doesn't care about the money. ~

5169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 08, 2023, 09:47:12 PM
Such generous odds for United can probably be explained by the fact that a number of players (Casemiro, Eriksen, Martial, etc.) will miss this game, that is, in fact, United will be in a very disassembled state. Leeds are almost at the very bottom of the standings, but they are scoring quite a lot of goals (if compared among outsiders), so in theory they could be a problem for United today.

Anyway, Manchester United is not a mediocre team, so losing several main players will not make Manchester United worse. Unless the opponent facing Manchester United in this match is a top team and also a strong team, then losing several main players will have a negative impact on team performance.

Leeds are a mediocre team who are also at the bottom of the table at the moment and also, with the odds like that I personally wouldn't hesitate to bet on Manchester United. But yes, betting large amounts like all in then of course it will still have a risk, because to bet all in requires a strong mentality as a bettor.

I think that when Leeds were leading 2-0 you changed your mind a bit  Grin
In any case, thanks to the efforts of Rashford and Sancho, the score is already 2-2 and United have about 15 minutes (including stoppage time) to win a strong-willed victory. In fact, even a draw (if it happens) will be akin to a defeat, since in this game United had to take the “planned” three points.

In fact, there is another option to get things done, but it will not be implemented. If you forbid PSG to spend more than they earn (actually earn and not under contracts with Qatari laundering offices), then this club will be blown away in one season and the players will scatter to other leagues. And the championship will immediately become more interesting - after all, even now, if we remove PSG, we see a kaleidoscope of teams that replace each other at the top and, in general, there is a fierce struggle where it is impossible to predict the winner.

Right and it kind of shows that the Ligue 1 is just relatively unattractive for some reason. I don't know whether it is just bad management by the national association and how they market soccer as a product, but after all this also shows that Ligue 1 is fighting with a problem where both sides of the coin are bad. If they allow some sheikh to spend money like crazy, they can get players like Neymar, Messi and Mbappe and make the league more attractive for people. However, it is going to be as one-sided as it is now and, hence, kind of boring. If, as you say, they force PSG to earn more than or as much as they spend, the cub will be blown away, no superstars will be playing in Ligue 1 and desperate the competition for the title being more fierce, the league is kind of boring again.

The only way to get out of this hamster wheel is probably to have more sheikhs or oligarchs invest more money into more French clubs. But that is not a very great idea either.

It kind of seems that national league rankings within Europe in terms of attractiveness are kind of set in stone. It is unrealistic to believe that the Premier League could lose the number 1 spot anytime soon. The first time when I noticed that a national league could really lose some of its prestige was when the rivalry of Ronaldo vs. Messi and Madrid vs. Barcelona fell apart in a sense when many players of that era stopped playing for those clubs and, additionally, Atletico Madrid also started to massively decline.

League 1 as a business is much worse than the Premier League and no sheikhs and artificial infusions of money can change this. As far as I heard, tickets for League 1 games are several times cheaper than for Premier League games, and everyone knows that TV rights to show EPL games bring record amounts. League 1 needs to develop as a business, then over time they will be able to reach the level of the EPL, all other artificial methods are nonsense.

Next time Dortmund are playing an away game against Werder Bremen.

We all are aware of how great form Dortmund have right now. They are on a winning streak of four games and they are only three points away from the leader. Werder Bremen on the other hand are slowly recovering now. They won their last two games. One of these was against Wolfsburg which are a higher-placed team than them. Dortmund have a huge dominance over them anyway maybe but they should be really careful to maintain their streak.

It will be a very interesting game. At least on the basis of how their first meeting ended. If you remember Dortmund led 2-0 until the 89th minute and then lost the game 3-2 in 5 minutes  Grin
I remember this result very well because Dortmund ruined my multibet at the moment when I already saw that the game was almost over and calculated my profit, and then I saw that my multibet was destroyed. It was damn unexpected.
5173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 08, 2023, 08:58:41 PM
All this is a muddy story and we can only observe without really understanding what is happening (because some have always spit on laws, all sorts of FFPs, etc. and have not experienced any problems). My guess is that this is an attempt to curb clubs that have inflated spending to unrealistic levels that will never pay off as a normal business, without infusions from sheiks or other moneybags. What Chelsea is doing deserves a separate discussion, but probably "questions" will be voiced to them also soon.

I really don't understand what exactly all these charges are and it seems to be indirectly related to the leaks made in german papers a few years ago that led to their earlier fine and almost banned from UCL.

I cannot point fingers, my own club is guilty of all kinds of nonsense it made the club lose fans and those who stayed still feel sick today for what it did (let's say pigeon shit in our stands and in our food is how bad it got because money went everywhere except to the club).

For me, clubs are businesses so in a way owners can do whatever they want that's fine but they all want a room in the castle. So I agree FFP is about fairplay, owners don't live on their own in a castle, the castle has many royals and one cannot use the treasury for himself.

I guess this is why some clubs want their own castle with Super League.

This does not work even in normal markets: no one will allow you to dump or profit from a monopoly position in a normal market. All players that harm the market itself are removed/penalized so that the market remains a market. Clubs that spend more than they earn harm not only themselves (no one cares about the owners and how they want to burn their money) but all other clubs - this is the main problem that needs to be solved.

Chelsea has no debt and also one of the best net spends in England; they signed players worth £341m but only paid £52.6m upfront for the entire deal, which is less than what other clubs spent. Chelsea did not break the rules; instead, they discovered and exploited a loophole in the FFP rules before it was closed. We did what anyone else would do in our situation. I understand that most of you have no idea what amortizing is.

Friend, do you think you're on a forum for five-year-olds and no one but you knows what amortization is?  Grin
You probably don't understand that nobody cares about accounting tricks. Loopholes tricks and other nonsense, firstly, do not change the essence of things, and secondly, they can be punished in terms of the criminal codes of most countries, even if "formally" everything was legal. There are such concepts as "malicious actions", abuse of the right", etc. If the court qualifies even a legal (at the time of commission) action as a crime, then it will be a crime.
5174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 08, 2023, 07:13:24 PM
Maybe the reason Asensio chose to stay at Real Madrid was because he wanted to continue to be able to win the league and other European competitions. But I've just heard the latest news that Real Madrid have offered a contract extension until 2027 for a whopping €4.8 million net salary, but Asensio and his agent Jorge Mendes want €6 million. It seems that this will be a difficult decision between the club and the player, but what is certain is that even if Asensio does not agree to this offer, many clubs in Europe will want to bring him in the summer transfer market.

Source: https://twitter.com/MadridXtra/status/1623238496713318401

Asensio is a good player but Real Madrid is a special club and as we have seen just being good (and sometimes even super good) is not enough to be a first team player here. If the club and the player have such a big disagreement about the salary (almost 20%), then they may part ways. I don't think Asensio is in a strong negotiating position, as in the summer transfer window Real Madrid will most likely be looking for one super forward (Mbappe) to pair with Benzema (or immediately replace him) and a second one for the future (when Benzema completely leaves).
5175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 08, 2023, 06:58:44 PM
By the way, now, despite the fact that the bookmakers give equal chances to both Real and Liverpool, I'm sure they evaluate Real as a clear favorite. I noticed that bookmakers very rarely change their quotes much even if the team falls into a period of bad luck or loses its best scorer, etc. In a pair of Real Madrid - Liverpool, initially Liverpool was a big favorite, but now the quotes are equal.
Liverpool have very poor performance in Premier League that is worse than what I can think of. They not only have draw, lose points but also have terrible loses. They still have good players but maybe this season is not a good one for all of them and in general Liverpool can not have good combinations of those players. Therefore, they are more sensitive to lose points to any opponent, not only to big and strong opponents.

Quote
This suggests that the bookmakers realized that they were wrong, but they cannot "turn around" their opinion, but the changes that have taken place are the maximum for their business.
In football and in matches between big clubs, we can not say anything definitely will happen and bookmakers are so scam with bet data they have so that they can easily flip all to take money from most of gamblers.

Yes, the argument in favor of Liverpool that there are a lot of top teams in the Premier League, so Liverpool can have more defeats than Real Madrid (which, for example, has only one serious opponent in La Liga this year) does not work because Liverpool loses big even to average commands.
As for bookmakers, sometimes they fall into a trap (as it is now in my opinion) they cannot turn the chances of the teams in the Real-Liverpool pair even more sharply, since many bettors will have the opportunity to already fix their profits (if they made preliminary bets in advance).
5176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 08, 2023, 06:52:36 PM
The gap to the last spot for Champions League is 13 points, 12 points for the Europa League, or mathematically it is about 4-5 matches win.
With the fact that there are still 17 matches to go, mathematically Juventus is still having the chance to catch the position but ofc it is hard.
What Juventus need to do now is to try to win all the remaining 17 matches and hoping for the other team above their current position losing many points.
It is not impossible to happen but really hard to happen unless there will be miracles for them.  Grin

5177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 08, 2023, 06:41:14 PM
The tour is completely over and I decided to check the quotes for winning La Liga, what a pain (for me as a fan of Real Madrid):

Barcelona 1.10

Real Madrid 6.75

Statistically, an advantage of 8 points gives just such chances, that's right, but I will hope that at least a personal meeting will reduce the gap between Real and Barcelona by three points, and it is more or less realistic to play the remaining 5 points in 17 games.

It's really pain to see that odd. Real madrid has such big odds. that being said if real madrid has very small chance to win la liga compared with barcelona. The situation can change drastically. El classico is just reducing three points while real has 8 points gap to the barcelona

Real madrid seems still facing problem to find a solution for the decline of its performance in la liga. Ancellotti is too native for not to buy some new players before. Benzema got injury again and yeah real faces another difficult situation again.

1.10 for barcelona is very small.  Cheesy

Everything is clear with Real Madrid - Benzema's injuries, Casemiro's abrupt departure and the arrival of Tchuameni probably did not pass without consequences and had an impact on the entire season.
By the way, according to Ancelotti, Benzema will play in the final of the Club World Cup (if Real Madrid gets there haha).
But I don't know who will bet on Barcelona with such meager odds? Still, Barcelona are not the most stable team and the fact that they are now doing almost perfectly in La Liga does not mean that there is no risk that the situation will change. I would never risk in such a case for the sake of 10%.
5178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 08, 2023, 06:33:00 PM

who doubts to bet MU when seeing that odds?
Leeds is underperformance after losing versus Forest. While MU is being confident after almost winning with 2 different goals at Old Trafford.
But, what makes me a bit doubtful is unstable performances, which is still like a specter to all in on MU.

5179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 07, 2023, 11:16:03 PM
For bookmakers, everything was more or less obvious:

~
1.93 - 3.05 - 4.40

The bookmakers give an incredibly generous 1.93 (assuming Marseille is really strong), but I guess I fold   Cheesy

Although they would hardly give 4.40 if they knew how the game would end  Grin
And I do not believe that there can be any escalation of the fight for the title - PSG's competitors are too weak even if PSG is removed - no one team can dominate the rest. In such conditions, they only take away points from each other, increasing PSG's advantage even more.

What you describe is what makes Ligue 1 extremely unattractive to constantly follow. Most of the other national leagues have at least two competitors that are able to deliver each other a real fight. But even then with just two teams it can get boring quickly when only one of those two teams starts to struggle - see Primera Division right now. I think that is why the Premier League is the most interesting even though it had been dominated by Manchester City and Liverpool in a certain sense for some time. But everyone knew that those times could easily change anytime.

In France I just can't see how that is going to change anytime soon. If any club were on the rise with a couple of superstars threatening PSG's position, PSG would just open their wallet and buy those superstars or any other club would buy them and they would certainly leave Ligue 1. Mbappe is a great example for that. I thin a couple of years ago hardly one would have thought that we would get to see Messi, Mbappe, Neymar, Hakimi, Donnaruma, etc. playing in Ligue 1.

Now that it is the case, the only chance to increase competition in Ligue 1 is probably when another sheikh is trying to build a Newcastle 2.0 in France.

I just checked the bookmaker quotes for the game Bayern - Bochum:

1.12 - 10.00 - 17.50

Everything is fair - Bayern is a clear favorite. But the "correct score" option made me laugh - from the point of view of the bookmakers, the most likely outcome of the game is a 4-0 victory for Bayern  Grin And although the odds of this outcome are 9 (which is only 11 percent of the probability), it is still more likely than any other outcome.
