Beijing market is in meltdown, so expect some temporary gains in Bitcoin. Next few hours will be interesting.

But we will be back to 230 by Friday.

If that is the case you should be more than happy to take 10 bucks over your spot price then, after all, giving you 10 dollar profit.

More profitable to sell at 290 and buy them back at the lower price. If you are a hoddler, then you may not get that.

What this holder doesn't get is how you can be so sure it's going to be appreciably lower on Friday, let alone all the way down to $230.

Sounds like a typical beartard pipe dream.

I have to say I find it pretty stupid how many people behave so childish when the price pumps a bit...

lol! what do you expect? this is the "speculation" board and the "price movement" thread, if you are looking for elevated conversation you should look elsewhere.

This place is also full of aspiring traders, who as we all know, are mostly kids.

yea I started trading Bitcoin back in the times and had no idea what I am doing... But now that I have a good understanding of markets in general following all the "bitcoin trading experts" it's kinda strange...

I switched almost completely to trading forex which feels much more fundamental. Everybody seems so much more mature compared to any place I joined for trading Bitcoin... The Whale Club teamspeak has some smart people in it but the loud "WE ARE GOING TO THE MOON, IT'S FOMO TIME, I am going to Jerk off now" guys are also there...

When I first acquired bitcoins in early 2013, I tried my hand at daytrading.

I did OK mainly by anticipating DDOS attacks on Gox but then again, anyone can make money during a serious bull run.

I then realized that despite my successes, it was a suckers game. It was  zero-sum situation where the only ones guaranteed to really make money were the exchange operators. Gambling against others with vastly more resources and experience just didn't make sense.

That's why I buy the dips, accumulate coins, and wait for Bitcoin to achieve the success I truly believe it will.

I'll leave casinos, daytrading, online poker, and lotteries to the gamblers.

Wow. I turn my back to do a few chores before heading back to town and I miss all the fun.

Hope I didn't miss the chance to buy a few more coins before $300 gets left behind.

All this really does is negate today's earlier dip and move us up a smidgen over yesterday's gain.

Right direction though, and on decent volume.

... in projected reality.

Isn't that an oxymoron?

Good morning Bitcoinland,

Still going sideways scrapping over $290 I see, basically where we were before the weekend.

Lost what we gained yesterday, but all on low volume.

Yawn.
5168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 27, 2015, 02:43:34 AM
Respectable little dump on finex, to reject and go higher would be quite bullish.

Absent that, very little supporting $290.

No big deal. Ho hum.

It'll take more than some klutz with less than 2k and  a fat finger.
5169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 26, 2015, 04:13:39 PM
It is more the effect on the trading accounts of leveraged shorting a rise from 219 to 215, or more recently from 273 to 295 that might be more relevent to the complete absence of a vocal number of previous posters of a furry disposition. Some will have timed it right but it's much harder when you cannot rely on the confirmation bias of being with trend. Everyone is a genius in a bull market, right? And every bear is a genius in a bear market - until the trend changes.

That's just the traders.

Investors accumulating coins in anticipation of Bitcoin's long-term success DGAF.

They can still be entertained by the angst of the traders who fuss over every little rise and dip.

Come on man, just admit it, even your stubborn ass knows this bear market is done.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still skirmishing in the $290 range I see, albeit with a slight rise overnight.

Volume is still typically weekend low, but the general upward drift of the sideways movement is heartening.

I'm starting to feel that maybe we've finally left $280 behind. I'll be heading back to the city tomorrow and if it doesn't take a buyable dip by then, I'll probably buy some coins anyhow just to get them while they're still under $300.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still scrapping over $290 I see.

Typical weekend low volume but at least we're still over $280 with a slight upward tendency. This is good.

^ and goat. I miss that asshole

Goat was different though. He was a bull, not a bear.

He's also permanently banned for sleaziness, I believe. I'm too summer lazy to look up the thread.

No sign of our lamented troll, fortunately.

Nice blip up in the price. It seems to be increasing with my tan.

I believe she (via sock) posted some over-sized GIFs and a P&D declaration a little while back, probably because it had crashed all the way from $287 to $285.

It seems Adam tidied it up almost immediately. Good work Adam or whoever.

Enjoy your Greek tan. I'm happy with the way the sunlight trickles through the maple trees. No need for sunscreen.

There's enough of a breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay and humidity is fairly low. The creek is babbling and so am I. Life is good.
5175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 24, 2015, 04:09:30 PM
Well good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $280 I see. I think we can safely say we've left the $260s behind.

I won't declare the battle for $280 won until we hit $300 again.

It'd be nice to put that silly Wile E ledge GIF to rest though.
5176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 24, 2015, 10:05:59 AM
Enough of this for now. I should have been in bed 2 hours ago.

This is what I get for checking the price before crashing.

It's been fun but I'll see you at the crack of noon (EDT).

Hopefully we'll still be over $280. G'nite all.

I think itīs china burst also. And the feeling that $ burst is closer now. This october could be disastrous for the global and work wonders for BTC.

If Im correct, this could be only the very beginning

Some of us have anticipated this for years.

The new world order is not corporate globalization or global government. It's global decentralized peer-to-peer consensus.

The dinosaurs stuck in the last millennium will sink into the tar pits.

Jolly good fun.

I was wondering if we'd start to move before the weekend.

Looks like we have.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still going sideways I see.

Ho freaking hum.
