5161  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin price start Falling? on: December 29, 2020, 04:06:25 PM

A friend told me that some people borrowed money from banks to invest, and it had paid off for them
Well, I know some people that that did the same and they profited, but I know even more of those that took loans during last bull market, bought BTC at almost all time high expecting they will take a quick profit and return money to bank. We all know what happened in late 2017/early 2018.

Situation now is even more complicated than few years ago due covid19 and generally bad economic situation when people are loosing their jobs left and right. We all expect that bitcoin goes up a lot like it did in 2017, but you never know what will happen, especially in these uncertain times. I simply woulnd't recommend anyone to gamble that way and invest money they don't have. Rather buy little by little, as much as you can afford. It is much safer method, and will still yield return.
5162  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin price start Falling? on: December 29, 2020, 03:49:44 PM
Despite current price I don't think it's scary at all to buy bitcoin now, as long as you are responsible. And that means not borrowing money from anyone to buy bitcoin, not going all in with all your savings, and most importantly look at bitcoin as a long term investment and that means having the patience to wait for even few years.

Trying to time the market and waiting for  dips dips is harder than it looks  so that's why i prefer dollar cost average method where I don't care much about current price. I simply buy at regular intervals as I know I will profit in the end. So far this method works flawlessly.

Regarding when price will start dropping, it will probably happen suddenly and without some major sign, when people are not expecting.
5163  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: December 28, 2020, 03:58:13 PM
You would think that for that kind of money they could buy a few decent accounts to give some things some form of legitimacy.
I have some doubts about certain group of higher ranked accounts being part of a more serious  bumping group that is doing that in a much better way than Vitor Services and similar spammers, but it is not easy to connect all the dots and say with 100% certainty who is part of the group and who is not.

But, I guess in the end it's just scammers scamming the scammers.
Merry Christmas.

You summed it up nicely, in most cases it boils down to that, dodgy projects hiring dodgy service. And Merry Christmas to you too!

There are also people selling bump services very cheap on fiverr and other websites like that for few dollars, and with multiple accounts it is not so hard for anyone to do that because they don't need any higher ranked accounts for that.
Vitor services is next level stuff Smiley
I just checked fiverr, and it doesn't seem so cheap. I saw packages like 10 posts for 17 USD and for me that's pretty expensive considering the lack of quality. It makes more sense to run BTC signature campaign that hire those spammers.

One more announcement thread has been added

[ANN] Mirror Protocol Launch - Trade real-world assets with crypto now!
Same group of accounts that is working on xpocket and that scam XeniumX started working on the Mirror Protocol thread too. Since I tagged that group of accounts, as always they just activated another group of newbie accounts and continued in the same manner. Whack-a-mole goes on.

5164  Other / Meta / Re: What to do with posts like this? on: December 28, 2020, 03:39:18 PM
To me that topic looks more suitable for altcoin discussion. It's true that he started the topic with bitcoin prediction, but then he goes on about altcoin, and even asking "Which coin do you choose and what is your prediction regarding that token?".

But then again, all replies there are focused on bitcoin, as far as I can see no one bothered to give altcoin prediction so it would be kinda unfair to move it there. Have you tried contacting the OP so he removes that altcoin part of his post?

5169  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM]Colonel Token-pretending to be part of one older project! on: December 27, 2020, 02:46:09 PM
This is your personal opinion if you do not trust the project. As we wrote earlier, you can check the statistics on the Waves exchange, where you can see that the Colonel token has grown and brought a big profit to all holders.
Just because there is some trading volume on waves exchange doesn't mean that Colonel token is legit project. Regarding the profit, I am sure that some people profited from Bitconnect too, but huge majority lost the money and same thing will happen to everyone who invest in your scammy shitcoin.

And if you go back to history, in 2009, many people considered Bitcoin to be a shitcoin.
You are seriously comparing Bitcoin with Colonel Token? Don't be ridiculous. You couldn't even bother to make whitepaper, let alone anything else that is normal for a new project. You also conveniently decided to ignore my questions about Bisk, care to explain that situation in which you did exactly the same thing like with Colonel token?
5170  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM]Colonel Token-pretending to be part of one older project! on: December 27, 2020, 08:57:26 AM
Dear friends!! We are promoters of various projects. We create ads on request from project owners. Trading cryptocurrencies is a risky business as all major exchanges warn. As well as you can see, some projects are still working to this day. As for the latest project, Colonel. The group that was involved in the development of the Military token was in September 2020 on the Waves platform of the made Node for stacking and paying rewards for all holders of the Colonel token. The Node is successfully working and currently paying rewards every week.
You claim that Colonel token is part of Military token, but there is absolutely no proof of that. No mention of Colonel token on MilitaryToken website, no mention in the whitepaper, no mention on the social media channels etc. My guess is that you are just using their name to dump your shitcoin, like you did before.

What you have to say about Bisk? As discovered by @holydarkness you once again used someone else's name (in this case online learning platform) in order to dump your shitcoins, while in reality Bisk doesn't have to do anything with your or crypto in general.

As far as I am concerned, tag and flag stays!
5171  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 27, 2020, 08:01:22 AM
A dip from 1,200 to 750, how it happened few years ago, would now mean, Bitcoin would dip from 26k to 17k again, very unlikely. In addition, Bitcoin price dipped imediately last time when reaching the last ATH from 2014. Right now, we are already well above the last ATH (20k). Bitcoin is much more bullish than last time.
I would not speculate to hope for a big dip. People have waited for it since 22k, since 24k and since 25k and no dip happened.
Even though situation is quite different now compared to previous bull run, I think that BTC dipping below 20k might happen exactly because no one thinks that it will drop so much. If I remember correctly, barely anyone expected BTC to dip sub 3k after reaching that old ATH, and we all know what happened.

Big players will want to acquire more cheap BTC and how else to do it other than dumping the price and buying from weak hands. And to do that effectively, they have to do it when no one expects, they wanna catch people with their pants down. As someone said, all we need is 30-35% drop to go below 20k, and if we know anything about BTC price, we know that such drops are always the possibility.

In the end, BTC dropping sub 20k is not a bad thing at all, it should be seen as an opportunity to acquire more.
5172  Other / Meta / Re: Shouldn't this be treated as an obvious plagiarism case? on: December 26, 2020, 05:13:54 PM
I hope that some of the staff will clarify this situation, because it is logical that there should be some kind of punishment for such behavior - otherwise we send the message that this is allowed.
I hope for some answer too, as it doesn't make much sense to me that you can get perma banned when you copy two sentences while you can open a topic and claim ownership of someone else's work without any repercussions. @Coaster89 probably spent days making it, and then @bitcoinermatt came and just nonchalantly pretended that he made it and even came up with the bullshit story around it, for the reason only he knows.

He silently waits for the decisions of the moderators, trying in every possible way to show his usefulness, and also referring to inexperience. Although you can always distinguish between ignorance and cunning.
As a matter of fact he did contact me (by some strange coincidence exactly at the time I was making this topic) because I left him negative feedback. I told him that he can give his explanation here. Let's see whether he shows up but I don't think that he can say anything that will make me change my mind.

I don't know if this falls under the plagiarism rule or not, since what he stole wasn't the written word, which is what plagiarism is defined as (AFAIK).  It's certainly dishonest if true, and if he doesn't get banned for this (which he may very well not be), it surely would be grounds for some negative trust.
Well, according to Oxford Dictionary, plagiarism is "The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own". That's what he did; he took someone else's work and then went on about spending two weeks making it, hanging it on the bedroom wall etc while it was all lie.

5173  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MASTERAGENCYCOIN.COM - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: December 26, 2020, 04:02:47 PM

well we are an honest project!

An honest project that copies from scam. Cool story bro. You copied text word for word, that simply can't be coincidence.

The way I see it,  in the best case scenario is that you are incompetent and ignorant, while in reality you are just lazy and dishonest. In either case those who invest in your project will loose their money. Tag and flag well deserved!

I think you don't know what you are talking about. Check the IP and you will see that it has nothing to do with it. But I expressed my opinion because it seems to me that you are randomly attacking this ICO, created by ambitious young guys who I think want to create a great project, without knowing anyone. I just wanted to give my professional, impartial opinion.
So you are just random guy who felt so strongly about MasterAgencyCoin that you had to create an account just to defend them? No one will buy that, and if you keep defending them for what is an obvious plagiarism case, you will probably end up tagged too. Not that you care much about since that's just a sock puppet account.

5174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New ATH, New ATH, New ATH on: December 26, 2020, 03:53:46 PM
How do you feel exactly when you see new ATH each time and how do you feel when you see ATH broken after long break.
I think "I should have bought more when price was lower". Then again, many of probably think the same thing now. But seriously, I am not that much fussed about BTC price anymore. Correction will happen eventually so there will be more opportunities to buy cheaper, but those opportunities will get rarer as the time pass by and as BTC climbs slowly  up to six figures number.

It's a bittersweet feeling. Yes, having my net worth grow is really really great, but the downside is that we're getting less and less BTC for every dollar/peso purchase lol.
Exactly my feeling. I am glad to see BTC price going up, but at the same time I know that it will be much harder to acquire more with each new ATH. Then again, it is worth to buy BTC at any price as long as you don't go all in/take loan and slowly accumulate when you can.

5175  Other / Meta / Re: Shouldn't this be treated as an obvious plagiarism case? on: December 26, 2020, 10:26:04 AM
Plagiarism at worst, spam at best. I'm not sure why they wanted to pretend like they drew it (merit, post count, buy offers) but none of the reasons I can think of are good.

If I have to guess why he did it, it would be merit fishing. But as you said, there is no  legit reason why would someone claim ownership of painting which is not his, and even made topic about it.

It's definitely plagiarism.
Below is definition of "plagiarizing" in Merriam-Webster Dictionary.
I thought so too, that this is textbook example of plagiarism case, but guess I was wrong.

We see everyone of us copy images from other websites or image sharing sites but once we add I / my / me to create an illusion that we are the owner of the image then we are trying to get an unfair advantages.
Yep, that's the issue here, he claimed not only once, but three more times after his opening post that painting is his own work. He had the chance to confess and explain that he just took picture from someone else but instead he went on with the lies.

Thank you very much for the tips! I put something like 2 weeks of work in it! How do I participate in the art contests?

I didn't make this artpiece to make money Smiley . I think I'm gonna put it in my room or in the living room. Thanks for the words!

Thanks. I may sell it later. I did a bit of thinking and afterall, it may be worth it to sell my artwork. I could make decent profit I guess.

There are no such rules about it, so I think bitcoinermatt will getaway with it very easily which is sad of course.
If admins confirm that's the official stance on cases like this, so be it. I just wanted clarification because report is still unhandled, and I don't waste my own and admins time reporting if I stumble upon similar case in the future.
5176  Other / Meta / Shouldn't this be treated as an obvious plagiarism case? on: December 26, 2020, 09:16:30 AM
Week ago @hosseinimr93 started topic in reputation board about suspicious merit transfers, and one of the accounts he mentioned was bitcoinermatt. Since those merit transfers indeed looked shady, I checked his post history. One topic he started caught my attention, in which he claimed to make bitcoin themed painting.

Hello everyone, I made a Bitcoin Drawing a while back and kind of forgot about it. Let me know what you think about it. Here it is:

Since painting looked really good I did some reverse image search which immediately yield results. Turns out painting is work of reddit user Coaster89. That painting is shared on the Instagram account of the same user (@coaster89) and he is selling his art through rarible. Additionally, same painting was shared almost a year ago in WO thread, and user who shared the painting also shared the original source (Instagram account of Coaster89). Link to that post.

@bitcoinermatt didn't bother to answer my question what's going on there, who stole from who, so I decided to contact the person that I thought is the original creator, coaster89. I sent him messages both on Instagram and reddit and few hours later I got reply via reddit, confirming my suspicion that @bitcoinermatt is not the original creator of that painting.

After I got confirmation that he is not the creator of that painting even though he claimed that he is, i reported him for plagiarism

Week later, that report is still unhandled. Based on previous reporting experience I know that chances of report being handled after one week decrease significantly with each passing day and if report stays the same after two weeks, it will stay like that most likely forever.

I know that we don't have to provide sources of images we share here in fear of plagiarism, but what about those that explicitly claim ownership of painting/photo, like it happened in this case? Shouldn't this be seen as an obvious case of plagiarism since he took someone else's work and claims to be his own?
5177  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM]Colonel Token-pretending to be part of one older project! on: December 25, 2020, 04:30:09 PM
What happened: as I mentioned in the title, Colonel Tokens pretends to be part of Military Token, one older and now abandoned  project from 2018.

When you check Military Token website, you won't find absolutely any mention of this Colonel Token, and it's the same thing on their social media channels like facebook and Twitter, which are inactive for almost two years now. If they really have some new token, wouldn't the mention it somewhere? On top of that, soon after ANN creation Newbie accounts started showing up doing classic shill work. Since I strongly believe that this is just a scam attempt I am raising the flag against OP of that thread

Flag Type 1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2551

Goal here seems to be to make people buy their useless tokens via Waves exchange

5178  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Solomon Cash using stock photo for their CEO! on: December 25, 2020, 04:08:59 PM
I was just hired to post their thread, I have nothing to do with this project. I will delete the thread after 24 hours.
It is a good thing that you reacted fast and removed content of announcement thread, but I won't remove negative tag just yet. Due your negligence you endangered people here, as we all know that projects with fake team members can end in only one way. It literally took me 1 minute to check CEO identity via basic reverse image search and you should have done the same before accepting this job.

I will keep an eye on you for some time and I might change feedback to neutral but for now negative stays until I am sure that you are not the danger for others.
5179  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Omniunit ponzi scheme! on: December 25, 2020, 04:03:07 PM
We are the professional group  traders. If you are ready to prove that our company is scam. We are welcome you to show yourself and prove your point of view in Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. You don’t have any proofs about working of our company. So shut your mouth if you are not ready to show yourself. And defend your accusations by law ! If you are sure that we are scam , please present your real name and sure name. So we will check that you had some problems with company!
My identity doesn't have to do anything with this. I am not the one who is promising unrealistically high profit like you. If you are legit, you wouldn't even promise 5% per month, let alone 36% or whatever it is, depending on your "package".

Just shut up, you have a fake company created for Ł30 with a  fake office that isn't even registered for trading activities and you know that, if you would have asked for that it would have cost you a lot more and you would have ended under scrutiny.
Hah yeah, according to Companies House their little scam company is registered for:
58290 - Other software publishing
62020 - Information technology consultancy activities
62090 - Other information technology service activities

If they are legit investment company as they claim to be, they would be registered with FCA, but we all know that getting the license from them is a little bit harder, and in that case they wouldn't be able to  just run away with other people's money without any consequence, as they plan to do here.

And stop threatening people, you're the last person willing to get even near a court, how's your previous scam with metal bonds token going?
Based on lack of social media activity, I think it's not going as good as they planned. As a matter of fact, FDCO even have ANN thread here, but it is also abandoned, no activity there since creation back in February.
