5161  Economy / Reputation / Re: Official Tribunal for Forum Trust Abuse on: December 14, 2016, 05:08:06 PM
How exactly is this official?

While I do agree that many are greatly expanding when a negative rating will be left to far beyond when a user is a scammer, I am not so sure that this type of thing is the answer.

(Similarly concerning is that anyone who questions this set of people will generally get trolled and brushed to the side by almost everyone).
5162  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Reputable PP-Trader? CC-Payment is also possible. on: December 14, 2016, 04:40:45 AM
How large of a purchase are you wanting to make? What rate are you able to offer?

I don't see why I wouldn't be able to use my US credit card with a german store.

Hey Quickseller,

Thanks for the reply and any help. Just sent a PM signed like the one i sent to Cyrus. I have spent a good amount of time online and i read a lot of posts Smiley.

Thanks again,
hmblm1245
I sent a PM to all of the admins for you with your signed message, along with a note that I was asking them to look into your situation for you, and noted how much time you have spent on the forum.

Hopefully they will look into your situation for you!

It was discovered that this guy is a serial scammer over a year ago. A simple search of scam accusations would have allowed you to see this yourself.
5165  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Double Spend? Or What happen? on: December 13, 2016, 06:41:06 AM
It's a non-standard transaction.
Have a deep look to the transaction inputs.
Don't you see there any scripts already discussed here?
You are an alt of the OP, yes?

edit: I am not sure why you ask these types of questions -- you already know the answer
5166  Other / Meta / Re: Account is Locked or not accessible on: December 13, 2016, 05:28:49 AM
Can you post and/or PM me the signed message along with where your address can be found? (I would prefer that you sign a message with today's date).

If you do the above, then I will contact the admins on your behalf to try to get your account restored back to you. Although I cannot make any promises, it looks like you rank quite high up there in terms of time spent online, and I can ask that restoring your account be given some level of priority because of this.
5167  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle help on: December 11, 2016, 09:34:27 PM
It won't let me send to Bitcoin addresses anymore. Says they no longer allow it. Says I can only send to emails or numbers. I need to get my Bitcoin from circle to coinbase
You will most likely need to withdraw/sell your bitcoin to your bank account, then use that money to buy BTC another way.
5168  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitstamp investment opportunity at bnktothefuture? Unimpressive... on: December 11, 2016, 08:09:59 PM
so it would take 32 years (or 16 assuming 0.2% avg fee) to pay back. Of course it's likely the volume will go up, however BTC price will do the same  Smiley Therefor I think it's way better to simply buy BTC.
If you simply buy BTC then for you to profit, the price of BTC needs to increase. However it is possible that BTC will fall by the wayside and some altcoin will reach the level of success that many think BTC will have. If you buy shares in bitstamp (or any other exchange), then that exchange simply needs to allow for trading in that altcoin, and have heavy trading volume in that altcoin for it to be successful.

Bitfinex is not worth $200MM valuation. This is self explanatory.
With Bitfinex's BFX tokens trading at 0.525, the valuation is closer to $100 MM

Bitfinex made over $6 $7 MM in income last year, and $7$6 MM in income through July of this year.

I would not say that the valuation of Bitfinex is all that outrageous. The high level of debt the company has might be a concern though.

$6MM income, is that revenue or net profit?

Even assuming its net profit, $6MM on a $200MM valuation (the fact their debt tokens are selling cheaper than face value does not diminish the valuation they have put on it) is beyond obscene (3% yearly growth). They are already a market leader (there will be no quick growth from here on out), still huge risk of failure (regulatory, crippling debt, terrible 5 forces situation etc) on top of a management team that has proven itself to be incompetent. This is a very pricey investment for the amount of risk involved.

They should be looking a valuation closer to $50MM.
In 2015, Bitfinex had $9.349 MM in revenue, 2.322 MM in expenses, and net income of $7.027 MM; in 2016 through July, they had $8.017 MM in revenue, $2.000 MM in expenses and a net income of $6.017 MM, which was on track to be roughly $10 MM in income for the year. (It looks like I may have previously gotten the last year and YTD through July figures mixed up).

On a YoY basis, both revenue, and net income have grown by double digits from last year.

If a potential investor wanted to buy equity in Bitfinex, they could purchase BFX tokens at a discount, and convert those BFX tokens into Bitfinex (or the entity that is actually selling shares on Bnktothefuture), giving an effective valuation of closer to $100 MM. If an investor wanted to buy a large amount of shares, does not already own BFX tokens, then their buying of BFX tokens would likely push up their effective valuation because the price of the BFX tokens would likely increase.

Bitfinex could potentially increase their revenue/income by introducing new products, for example, I have heard them talking about offering deliverable options, and new trading pairs that generates high trading volumes.

In regards to your valuation estimate, an appropriate valuation is a conclusion that needs to be made by an investor considering to invest.
5169  Other / Meta / Re: A new tactic employed by die-hard account farmers? on: December 11, 2016, 07:20:47 PM
What would the point of this be?

Easy and straightforward account farming?

Say, you created 100 accounts for the sole purpose of account farming. You still need to post something, but to post something different every time in every account would be rather tedious and boring, especially if you are not going to post outright spam, but aim at making a slightly constructive post (so as not to raise suspicion and start needless discussion). In this way, you can just delete a post under one user and resubmit it from another. I guess it is even possible to make the whole process automatic
I still don't see the advantage of engaging in this kind of activity.

This will take some amount of resources and I really do not see any benefit to the farmer in doing this.

Also if the post was made by another account then the deleted post would most likely show up on google.

5172  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: want a wallet for multiple address ?? on: December 11, 2016, 04:14:01 PM
Walletexplorer is actually one of the lesser advanced blockchain analytical tools available.

Even if you never reuse addresses, and none of your trading partners reuse addresses, it is still possible to link some of your addresses together. For example, if you send BTC to one person, and send the change to one change address, then send BTC to a second person, sending the change to a second change address, then subsequently send BTC to a third person using inputs from both of these change addresses, then one could reasonably determine that both of the change addresses belong to you, and if more then one input was used for each of the previous transactions, that the addresses from each of the above transactions all belong to you.

In order to avoid the above issue, you can heavily track where the BTC contained in each of your addresses came from, including change addresses.

You can further avoid this by avoiding using change addresses altogether by sending whole amounts contained in inputs to your trading partner in each transaction, although this will somewhat limit you as you may not need to send exact amounts to the person you are trading with. If you frequently trade with someone (and sufficiently trust them), then you could send an extra 0.05 to your trading partner instead of sending that amount to a change address, and you both could stipulate that the 0.05 will be applied to the next time you need to send them BTC.

Alternatively you can use Joinmarket to do your transactions. Joinmarket uses CoinJoin which means that your transaction is combined with inputs and outputs of other people such that an outside observer does not know which inputs and outputs are yours. It greatly enhances privacy, but can be a little hard to use.
CJ transactions can be traced with fairly decent amounts of accuracy (source -- I had thought there were more recent articles about this issue, but am unable to find them currently).

Why Satoshi has created this forum ?

To talk about bitcoin, hence the name bitcointalk.
The forum was actually originally hosted on the bitcoin.org domain when satoshi brought it over from sourceforge. The bitcointalk domain was not used until either very late 2009 or early 2010

No, lol.

Just lock this thread.
5175  Economy / Reputation / Re: This retard repeatedly bids in auctions just to get paid from his yobit sig. on: December 11, 2016, 05:45:41 AM
He was the high bidder on one of my auctions about 18 months ago and he failed to honor his bid, resulting in me having to sell my coin for a lower amount. I left him negative trust for the difference and maybe 4 or so months ago reimbursed me the difference.

I somewhat got the feeling that he was trying to up his post count. This is not the first time I have seen this kind of behavior (the second highest bidder in that same auction most likely was doing the same thing and does the same thing fairly regularly).

I am not quite sure how to address this problem.
5176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If satoshi had a premine on: December 11, 2016, 05:39:53 AM
Bitcoin wasn't premined. One of the first blocks was most likely mined by someone other than satoshi (it was not long before others besides satoshi was finding blocks).

It is possible that there was some amount of time between when satoshi actually found the first block and when he "released" it to the world however at most this could be no more then a few weeks. This is not the kind of premise that is fairly common with many altcoins.

I thought that it just showed all addresses in an HD wallet. Does it make mistakes sometimes?
As far as I know, you can't see if addresses came from a HD wallet. The addresses come from the private key, and it's the private key that is created in the HD wallet.
I'm no expert, so I'd like to be corrected if I'm wrong on this.
Wrong. You can't derive a list of all addresses from a HD wallet unless you have the master public key/xpubkey.
