NC, took it out my RSS list when Yves displayed too much mainstream/broken economic theory that does not work. Nevertheless, a valuable source of information. Expect mainstream thoughts in the comments. If you can convince these people not to be statists, bitcoin will be a success (so be polite).

Would you rather hold fiat in a PIGGS bank?
Bernanke prints 4 BTC markets a day. It's buy and hold for me. And of course I use BTC when convenient.

Bitcoin is extremely inflationary right now. Look at how much BTC is created annually. It will become less inflationary over time, but we are not there yet. The fallacy of deflation has been discussed numerous time. Krugman fails to convince me (and many others). On top of that, Krugman has proven to either not to understand economics or talk the official book. Be cautious, do your own thinking.

There is no 'down' for Bitcoin until $1,000, besides breach of the protocol. Buy and hold.

There is no periodical payment due in the Bitcoin system. The Bitcoin you hold remains a Bitcoin. Therefore, I think it cannot be deemed a pyramid or a ponzu scheme. It's no other than people holding a fixed amount of rocks whereas the Bitcoin rock happens to be easily transferable over the Internet.
