India is the only feasible market for franchise league. Not only India is a populous country, Cricket is the most favourite sports for Indians. It's not the same for Australia, England or South Africa.
South Asia is where the cricket is the sports that's given a first priority. And India lies in its center. The exclusion of Pakistani players in IPL is the only thing that hurts me. Cricket should have been higher than the petty politics.

I would disagree when you say that India is the only feasible market for franchise league.

The BBL of Australia and the Vitality Blast of England is doing pretty well, without much help from India. But that said, India remains the largest market and it will be impossible for any of the other franchise T20 leagues to overtake the Indian Premier League (IPL) in terms of popularity or revenues. My advice to the other leagues is not to compare themselves with the IPL.

Taking responsibility and leading the team isn't a simple task. No team gets good cricketer to be captain on the consecutive order. India is lucky to get Dhoni followed by Virat, and now we can't imagine any of the players to be the same as them. Pant is young and playing good, but I don't think he's good enough to take the captaincy of the leading cricket team.

My choice would be like this:

Virat Kohli > Rohit Sharma > Sreyas Iyer

Rishabh Pant is too inexperienced to be considered for any future captaincy role. Also, from his behavior, it doesn't look like he can handle pressure situations. Virat is aggressive, but he doesn't lose his composure when he gets angry or irritated. The same can't be said about some of the other members in the present playing XI.
5163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Bitcoin adoption on: January 09, 2020, 03:21:28 PM
The original purpose of Bitcoin was to act as a payment method. But nowadays, very few of the users are using it for that purpose. There are multiple reasons for that. First of all, the transaction fee is very volatile and there were times when the users had to pay as much as $2 or $3 for a single transaction. And secondly, the prices have risen steeply, when compared to the levels we had back in 2012 and 2013.
5164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much bitcoin to buy? on: January 09, 2020, 03:06:13 PM
I recently purchased bitcoin, it was the most I have ever put into a cryptocurrency.
This is going to be a long term buy, This was taken out of stock money,
Now that I have done this I feel more excited about
where bitcoin is headed than  I do about stocks. Now I feel like I should take more out of
Stocks, Feel there’s going to be more return this way. Thoughts on this am I getting carried away

My personal opinion is that you should limit investment in high-risk assets such as Bitcoin to somewhere between 10% and 20% of your portfolio. Diversifying is always a welcome step.. but as we have seen during the past few years, cryptocurrency remains extremely volatile when compared to the other assets such as stocks and bullion. You should invest, only in case you can afford to hold the coins for at least 3 to 5 years.
5165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Ways to earn crypto without investing or mining on: January 09, 2020, 02:51:57 PM
Airdrops and Bounties are no longer offering good rewards, due to the scarcity of good projects and oversupply of users. You can still participate in good bounties, but there is no guarantee about the payments. Freelancing remains one of the best options right now, but unless you have a good knowledge of coding or programming, your rewards are going to be minuscule.
5166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold on to patience even when it feels like wearing off on: January 09, 2020, 02:43:22 PM
Altcoins seem to be the ones taking the hits of negative results and they are not encouraging, i know its not a good time for every altcoin holders, the question you all need to be asking yourselves is how long will altcoin market keep declining? will it take forever cos nothing last forever, patience is all you need, if its not enough to calm you then look for other ways to sustain yourself for a while, do not run because of present condition cos it doesn't justified tomorrow. For whatever is going to turn out good will first go sideways.

Users need to ask themselves why the market share of altcoin is going down, when compared to that of Bitcoin. Everyone likes to believe that the ongoing decline is a temporary trend, and the prices will rise again at some point of time in the future. But we need to ask ourselves whether this will happen or not. My opinion is that the vast majority of the alts don't have any real life usage, and therefore they don't deserve any sort of valuation at all.
5167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 09, 2020, 01:59:48 PM
@Vishnu.Reang copying IPL is suicidal because none of the leagues can match the salary that IPL players get, and if there’s no good salary on the table then no top player would like to come and play in those leagues. Second reason why other leagues are a big flop is because IPL plans it’s schedule in such a way that no major ICC tournament is on, which allows all global stars to participate in IPL and other’s leagues do not get such kind of luxury.

That's true. There is an informal agreement between the BCCI and the ICC that no major global tournament will be scheduled during the IPL duration. The national boards are also reluctant to conduct their tournaments or bilateral tours during this time, because they know that the star players would definitely prefer their IPL franchise over the national team.
5168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How i presently feel about bounties on: January 09, 2020, 01:52:24 PM
I'm starting to think its better to promote bounty projects with low allocation like 30k to 50k because they never failed to pay hunters, even if these projects find it hard to met softcap it will be easy to pay bounty rewards, this might be because of bear market but gone are those day of thousands dollar worth bounty rewards unless new wave of market movement takes place

Hmm.. even with the smaller projects, there is no guarantee that the bounty will be paid on time. I am someone who has participated in dozens of bounty campaigns in the past. From what I have seen, when the ICO market is in a healthy state, most of the bounties (irrespective of their size) would be paying the rewards honestly. But when the conditions are not good, the bounty hunters are left high and dry.

It is really interesting to see the liberal view of New Zealand since Ben Stokes who is representing England yet he got nominated for an award for the citizens of New Zealand and it shows two things, either they lack many candidates or they want to showcase that they are liberal and really wanted to award someone who is born in New Zealand even though they represent another country.

I think a lot of the New Zealanders are angry that Stokes dumped their country and went to play for England. But you can't really blame him. Stokes migrated to England when he was a kid. You can't compare this to someone like Eoin Morgan (who first represented Ireland, and then switched to England). But to be fair to Stokes, he has always stated that he is proud of his Kiwi heritage. You won't hear that from those Kolpak players.
5170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of Altcoins have a future? on: January 09, 2020, 01:38:03 PM
IMO, only those altcoins which are fundamentally different and technologically superior to Bitcoin are going to survive. Coins such as LTC and DOGE, which are just like copycats of Bitcoin are going to die out in the near future. On the other hand, I expect altcoins such as Monero, Cardano, EOS, Stellar Lumens and NEO to not just survive, but thrive in the future.
5171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 09, 2020, 01:25:01 PM
The decision to grant test status to Ireland was taken in haste and no proper study was done on the viability of cricket in Ireland. Now their quality has fallen and other teams such as Netherlands and Scotland have surged ahead of them. Perhaps the ICC wanted to make sure that what happened to Kenya one and half decades back don't get repeated with Ireland. But giving test status and then providing no real support to them was as good as allowing them to remain as associate members.

Cricket remains one of the minor sports in Ireland. However the world cup match, in which Ireland managed to defeat England was widely covered by the media and all the major news papers carried the news in the first page. But after that, the media coverage as well as popularity of the sport declined. And the ICC's policy of concentrating on the big 3 nations didn't helped the matters. The popularity of cricket is on the decline not just in Ireland, but in almost all the countries apart from the big 3.
5172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 09, 2020, 01:13:08 PM
Indian Captain Virat is a legendary player and no one can doubt his selection, but the selectors should groom young players too who can replace him when the time comes for him to step down from the game. One player in my opinion who can fill his shows is their wicket keeper Rishabh Pant, though he’s been inconsistent with the bat I feel in the long run he’ll definitely be a good captain what do you’ll think of his chances to lead the Indian team?.

Well... Rishabh Pant is a very bizarre choice... First of all, he has yet to cement his place in the Indian team. And secondly, I can't remember Pant captaining any team in the IPL or the Ranji Trophy. Well.. he is young and he may be a future prospect. But first he needs to prove that he can captain domestic sides and handle the pressure properly. For now, my first preference would be Sreyas Iyer.
5173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teach me how to fish on: January 09, 2020, 01:07:05 PM
Everyone keeps pointing to trading as the best alternative to earning in this bear market but my past experience about trading was bad and now i am willing to give a try again, can any one give me good guide? don't just tell me to find strategy without giving me any, teach me how to fish

Trading is not for everyone and you need to put a lot of effort and time, in order to be successful in cryptocurrency trading. On top of that, there are additional risk factors such as exchange hacks and tax complexities. Among my friend circle, less than 10% of all those who have tried their luck with trading ended up in profit. The remainder lost most of their capital amount.
5174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 09, 2020, 01:01:08 PM
I think the idea is to attract new fans to the franchise game, i still remember the first T20 World Cup and India winning the tournament with a relatively young team and then they started IPL and it was a grand success and rest of the countries are trying to continue the same concept now and everyone knows the commercial success it can bring if the fans gets interested and every team is eyeing for that winning combination to attract more eyes to their franchise cricket.

The problem here is that every other board is trying to copy the IPL. But they fail to understand that they don't have such large market at home. For example, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board had launched a similar league a few years back. It folded after just one year, resulting in huge losses to the board. The Msanzi Super League (MSL) of South Africa is also in deep loss. Only a few such as the BBL and CPL are in profit.
5175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee backs out of his $1 million bitcoin prediction on: January 08, 2020, 03:21:16 PM
Don't tell me any of you guys believes he will actually do it, i was expecting this news from McAfee this year though, bitcoin can never surge that high, its way too impossible even if bitcoin goes fully mainstream it can never hit 1m per one

He has millions following his social media channels. Even if 1% of that number believes him, it is a huge amount. John McAfee was an industry giant, until a few years back. He built quite a reputation for himself. But now he is making a living out of his past reputation. And I don't think that this is going to continue for ever. At some point, there is going to be a backlash.
5176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next big thing in crypto? on: January 08, 2020, 03:07:32 PM
I don't think that there will be anything big in the world of cryptocurrency, in the near future. Bitcoin has been in existence for more than 11 years now. Till now, none of the new coins have managed to topple Bitcoin as the most popular cryptocurrency. Many of the new coins are technologically superior to Bitcoin. Bit the users are sticking to the original cryptocurrency.
5177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if anyone hacked your account then who is responsible??? on: January 08, 2020, 03:01:24 PM
Everyone is supposed to take care of their online accounts and funds. And in more than 99% of the cases, wallet hacks and robberies occur as a result of carelessness from the victim. But that said, the hackers must be punished severely. No one is supposed to steal money from someone else. Also, no one is permitted to intrude into someone else's personal space.
5178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Strategy: Withdraw 50% ETH and looking to invest in Altcoin on: January 08, 2020, 02:12:32 PM
You already have a good portfolio, but still, think of it carefully. You are about to cut off your ethereum, not a little percentage but half of it. You can try to cut off 5-10% from other coins, you might not consider this since looking at your investment, you have enough knowledge, but think very carefully.

ETH makes up close to 40% of his portfolio and perhaps that is the reason why he is trying to reduce the proportion. I am against investing in lesser known altcoins such as TTN, but I don't know much about that particular coin. The OP may be having some inside information and might have decided to invest based on that. On my part, I would recommend BCH (as I posted earlier) or ask him to increase the proportion of Bitcoin.
5179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 08, 2020, 02:01:27 PM
How can they literally steal the players, if the players gets better salary and package they will move to a different country and it is nothing wrong and this is happening in other sports as well for decades.

Nope. It is not happening in the other sports. Let me explain.

ICC changed the rules almost two decades ago, to allow non-citizens to play for a country. Earlier, there was a limit for such players (3 players in the playing XI, if I am not wrong). This has enabled teams such as UAE and Oman fielding playing XI in which not a single citizen is present.

Jofra Archer is a citizen of Barbados and Eoin Morgan is a citizen of the Republic of Ireland. Both these players don't have British passports. Sports bodies such as FIFA and FIVB allow players to represent a country only if they hold the citizenship of that particular country. The rules for FIBA is even stricter. They allow only one naturalized player in the squad, even if they have the citizenship.
5180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of Altcoins have a future? on: January 08, 2020, 01:40:43 PM
Altcoins that brings something entirely new, unlike something we've seen already on other altcoins, many new altcoins still lacks in this area but its not impossible, rare real use case is the answer and most new coins don't have this

New ideas are always welcome in the cryptocurrency market. But at the same time, many of the existing cryptocurrencies can be replaced with technologically superior alternatives. There are many domains, for which suitable coins are not available. For example, TRX was designed for sharing of digital content, but it is not being used for this purpose. So if a new cryptocurrency comes in to existence and proves that it is a better alternative, then it may be possible for it to replace TRX.
