5181  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Design TyGrr.com on: February 14, 2012, 07:23:09 AM
This site already has hosting, domain DNS updated correctly, it's currently running wordpress with a theme that I felt would match what Goat is doing, but I have been backed up on work and we've agreed that he'll find someone else to finish filling in the site.

Basically, everything is already done and he needs someone who will sit down and punch in all the information about the services, organize things, show him how to edit for the future, etc (something I apologized I don't have much time to do).

Someone who can make him a better logo would also be ideal.

Thanks guys. Good luck Goat!

We've all just seen the "take everyone's money and disappear without telling anyone" thing go down here too many times, Matthew, that's all.  When you disappeared without making note of it on bitcointalk, and no one bothered to defend you until the last minute (except Phinnaeus, who no one knew if he was joking or not), it started freaking people out.  A quick note that you were going on vaca probably would have avoided all of it.
Hindsight is 20/20. Now that Mihai has the blog on the site up, crap like this won't happen anymore I suppose.
Does it tell us when you're sleeping? What if you have a prolonged stay in the restroom - will the blog be updated to prevent future panics?

Vicente told me I should get a streaming webcam for my study, but I have way too much sex in my house to let that happen.
5183  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitscalper passwords have been leaked on: February 14, 2012, 07:09:35 AM
I guess it wouldn't surprise anyone here to know that when KalyHost went down over that one weekend a few weeks back, the reason BitScalper was freaking out is because if he never bothered to backup the wallets OR his site's code.

Is my friend Matthew in or out? I feel he'll add value to this contest.

~Bruno~

I'm totally in! I already applied. I don't know why it didn't go through. What the eff.

@OP: Did you send me something?
5186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 14, 2012, 05:40:04 AM
Lol. What a fail parade. Can't I take a business trip on the weekend without everyone getting their panties in a bunch?

For the record, I've used the same totally crap starter VPS to host a lot of the websites I manage until Vladimir was able to get his hosting service ready for me. Everything is being moved over (I think I already said that, in this thread even...). bittalk.tv and dcao.org are both on the same server. When one goes down, so does the other.

For those saying things like "I didn't get my email answered", I am not the only one who answers emails. Adam Harding (who is in charge of advertising accounts currently) or Mihai Alisie (our marketing director) will be glad to respond to your inquiries. All of our contact information can be found at http://bitcoinmagazine.net

For those thinking I've "bit off more than I can chew", I have like 3948923 companies. Relax. The first magazine ever has to go through the rigid and highly annoying process of standardization and reformatting. I've brought more and more professionals on board as we have developed to make sure the second issue is even less time consuming.

For those thinking what we are doing is "impossible" and "must be a scam", you bring a smile to my face to know how well we must be doing for anyone to think that.

For those of you (like Goat) who have paid for things like "website design", "advertisements", etc and then run to this thread to yell 'scam' because you completely ignored my initial warnings that A) I am highly expensive, B) the magazine is top priority, not your design, and C) I would make sure to clear the designs with you before we went to print (which I haven't failed to do yet), I'll be sending you a full refund as it's apparent I have misread your maturity.

For those saying that I went AWOL 'without notifying anyone', I'm pretty sure about 50 people or so knew exactly where I was. I'm kind of pissed no one bothered to fucking defend me, but such is bitcointalk.org. On that note, we'll be posting regularly on the website (not his thread) with updates on the progress of the magazine so everyone can get their fill.

Flatplan is finished, designers are taking another look at the photography limitations tonight and the entire design will be recompiled and sent to printers in a few days. For everyone who's paid and has waiting their fair share, I appreciate the steadfast trust. We deserve it and you didn't make a mistake. For everyone else, please go suck a pole while the very first Bitcoin magazine in history gets put together.

Peace

P.S. Bruno, not everyone here knows you're just trolling for shits and giggles. Keep the FUD a little less subtle for the newbies who send 10 emails in a period of 10 minutes expecting a reply to each one.

Matthew

I opt to send you this as a PM opposed to on one of the threads. As you probably clearly read I, as well as Rassah, defended you throughout all this. I was way too busy to stop all the naysayers, but I tried. I'm glad to see you back and hope the business you had to take care of went well.

Your Friend,

Bruno

PS: I won't mention this PM, if you don't.

Sorry mate. I'm PMSing, and your secret is safe with me.

Would like to know if the advertising dead line is still today. Thanks.

Yep. Today is the last day we are accepting new advertisements. For all those who have previously ordered an advertisement, if you haven't had yours confirmed yet, don't worry. We're not avoiding you or ignoring our responsibilities. A few more professional members joined in the crew a bit late and wanted to redo most everything is all. That's why we're running a tad late. If we haven't contacted you, just be patient. Nothing will go to print without confirming with all parties involved.
5190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 08, 2012, 09:34:35 AM
Thought you guys would get a kick out of this. I took these pictures when I went down to southern Indiana right before Christmas. I thought they might come in handy for an article.

5191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 08, 2012, 08:29:08 AM
How come the "12 Issues (Digital) + Bonus Issue + Gift" is unavailable for purchase?

I can take pre-orders for the print issues because we can send those addresses directly to the printers.

Digital downloads though would require the digital files to already be ready. Some pre-orders did get through, but I'll need to manually e-mail those individuals with an access link etc. It's much simpler for us to just sell the digital copies once there is actually something to download.

5192  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you read this? on: February 07, 2012, 11:16:21 PM
This is crap. I read the whole thing in like 5 seconds.

I don't think this has anthing to do with "strong minds". More like "how many years you have spent on IRC".
5193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 07, 2012, 10:56:04 PM
NOTICE: We're still on target for releasing this month, but in the spirit of the way magazine traditionally do it, I'll be changing the 'actual' release date and the cover to reflect "March 2012" instead of "February 2012". Not really important. Just thought I'd share.
5194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 07, 2012, 08:53:21 PM

Got your message, site's back up and migrating to our new secure host (too much traffic for the crap VPS it was hosted on).

Apologies for the wait everyone. This is our final week and things are heating up behind the scenes. We won't let you down.
5195  Economy / Speculation / Re: You say, "Bear" ? on: February 07, 2012, 11:35:59 AM
If it's any consolation, I bought $3500 Bitcoin yesterday to send to someone as payment for something.
5196  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's relationship with the Internet. on: February 07, 2012, 10:37:25 AM
in soviet russia, the internet pays you
That would explain the fast speeds.

oh, and in soviet russia, the blockchain downloads you

In Soviet Russia, coins double-spend you.
5197  Other / Meta / Re: The moderators/admins of this site are a bunch of criminal aiding morons on: February 07, 2012, 04:32:19 AM
Why?  Because of the fact that premium being "subjective" gives immediate validity to any comment made by Matthew or Bittenbob regarding the quality of the domains (not an age comment), and said comments are in direct reference to the topic of the thread.
And nobody was banned for that. Believe it or not, it's possible to argue the quality of a product without trolling at the same time.

This. Next time I'll be a sprite instead of a troll.
5198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 07, 2012, 04:02:41 AM
sell it on amazon kindle like 2600 magazine does, no money in selling print copies anymore

Yea, can't argue with that...... Roll Eyes

Oh my god what a clusterfuck of good-cop bad-cop.

I deserved to get banned for the lazy way I trolled vual. I could have been much more subtle but I got lazy. Stop arguing for me. Sometimes I do actually need a time-out.

Vual also deserved to be trolled for that ridiculous thread, and he's already admitted to having made a big mistake posting it. Since everyone is here, able to post, and no one involved is still acting the same, why is this thread even here much less continuing on this far?

Theymos isn't going to apologize for doing his job, members aren't going to be happy about getting banned, newbies are going to make mistakes, old trolls are going to keep them in check. The circle of forum life.
