5181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will the gambling addicts do now that the casinos have closed? on: March 27, 2020, 04:47:51 AM
Uhm do something else? Not like the whole world revolves around gambling tbh, even if you are a gambler. As for the addicted ones, not like they can do anything right? As long as they still have a sane mind, even if they are addicted to gambling, they'd know that there's no way for them to go to casinos at the current situation. Plus, online gambling exists anyway, so it's up to them whether they would go on that platform or not. As for their addiction being cured, it's not a matter of how long you're separated from something, it's a matter of the mind accepting and stuff like that. Just like how Smokers cure themselves, gambling addiction is cured by gradual reduction of playing, not by suddenly stopping it.
5182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does good side of gambling overcomes its negative side? on: March 26, 2020, 02:47:49 PM
Bro Bro bro. Stop putting positives and negatives in activities. Look at this. Does holding a gun in public bad? Most would probably answer yes, but look at how policemen hold guns in public. They don't give you fear or don't think of it as being wrong no? But look if some unknown man had a gun in public. You'd probably be in fear, right? It all depends on who is doing that action. You may say my example may be a bit biased, but I stand to hold with my view. It all depends on "who" you are and what you use it for.

Sides, other than that, Gambling doesn't really make you become unproductive ( commenting on this cause it kinda hit me negatively ). You not wanting to become productive is the reason. Pretty much the same idea I said above, but I wanted to emphasize that anything, whether it be gambling, playing, etc., doesn't make you unproductive or stuff like that. Just imagine how killers ( Not saying to become one, just saying it out for the sake of argument) think up of numerous plots that the police can't understand. Does that make them "unproductive"? If yes, then you already hold a bias opinion of what "productive" means and shows that anything good is "productive" and anything bad is "unproductive".
5183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Credibility in shock on: March 24, 2020, 11:58:29 AM
Why even bother talking about the price when we're identifying the idea as BTC being safe? Bitcoin is naturally volatile, it's supply is continuously increasing day by day and day traders litter the market which causes the ups and downs at times. It's a safe asset in the sense that it is able to endure the beatings of an economic market crash, and that's it. I suppose it didn't hold up to the recent crash because, well, even gold was hit, which is a naturally known safe asset.

Additionally, Market manipulators are there, whether you like it or not. Be it in the stock market, forex, or crypto market, there would be some of them trying to manipulate it, and them being there doesn't really equate trading to an unfair situation. It's just a matter of how you intake information so as to prevent yourself from getting rekt by them market manipulators.

Also Bitcoin Credibility? More like you're defending Binance Credibility. If you held your BTC in your own hard wallet, you wouldn't have a problem with the hacking right? Exchanges are made to buy and sell but it isn't made to hold your crypto.
5184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: March 24, 2020, 03:46:46 AM
A possible reason for the increase in price at the start of the month was actually because the only country to be quarantined by then was China. As time passed by, more and more infected were being found in different parts of the world, hence, various countries have started quarantine in their own and caused various disruptions towards the normal circulation of various goods. This caused the stocks to fall down badly and well, probably caused a side effect to the market of crypto, hence the drop. Most of it can be attributed to panic tbh, cause I fully believe that Bitcoin should've been fully unaffected by the current state of affairs. Sadly, the damage irl was too big so the market of crypto was also affected as a result.
5185  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: March 23, 2020, 06:02:42 AM
It still depends on what's going to happen with the relationship between the government and with crypto. Sides, even without crypto, as long as India is willing to step out and grow, they have the capability to do so. As a country with a lot of room for improvement after all. Compared to countries like US that are already at the peak, countries that are around the lower bottom part have the biggest room for improvement as well as the biggest room to discover new ventures into economic growth. The only thing they pretty much lack is the avenue to support that growth of theirs, which unless someone is willing to work with them, then nothing is pretty much going to work.
5186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How About Bitcointalk raise Money in BTC to Donate on fight against Coronavirus on: March 23, 2020, 05:42:33 AM
Unnecessary. Doing as such would most likely lead to additional popularity of the platform, but it isn't really advertised outside ( or there is no need to ) and additionally, if you wanted to help to fight the virus, there are already a lot of other avenues for such. I don't know for other countries, but a few countries' red cross groups have already started fundraising activities. Just recently Italy has already achieved its initial goal just after 3 days and is now continuing the said activity with an increased goal. The Dutch Red Cross also accepts donations through Bitcoin. A lot more trustworthy since it's an official group worldwide, which really helps avoid all the scams and such happening cause of the virus.
5187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW LOW BTC CAN GO? $ 1,000 by years' end. on: March 23, 2020, 04:32:20 AM
Will this mean if corona virus is gone, then such  policy of closures will remain till six months elapse ?
No I don't think so. Therefore, I expect that bitcoin price will increase beyond $6,200 anytime soon because new cases are really handled better than when it started in February.
You can't really make the virus disappear. At most, a vaccine could be made, but I doubt the release of the vaccine is going to happen in the next few months. So even with the vaccine done, the quarantine/closure would probably remain, until it is ensured that every citizen has taken the vaccine. As for the price though, a vaccine is all you'd need for investors to start realizing that it's time to come back and invest once again. As for the possible price increase? It hugely depends on how the train of investors are going to come. If they all come at the same time, then there's a possibility of everyone being quite excited about investing and making it soar through quite a lot.
5188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stack sats / HODL philosophy (noob question) on: March 23, 2020, 04:17:57 AM
There's a difference in your philosophy and those that invest in the long term. That's basically it, and well, different traders have different approaches so as to what to do with their money, so nothing we can do about that. I'm more to the Trader side, though I don't do any complicated stuff. Buy low, sell high, basically my entire trading life.

HODL just means not to sell, whether the market price is very high or very low. Takes a lot tbh, but if you've experienced the 2017 times till today, you'd be pretty much experienced about it. You've pretty much seen every wave there is if you've been trading since then after all.
5189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: March 23, 2020, 04:06:46 AM
It's a matter of your inner mind now tbh. Just the fact that you think you lost a large amount is enough for most gamblers to fiddle around and panic, making their minds fill up with irregular thoughts and the like. An example would be an endless amount of "what if" situations, that no matter what would've never happened either way cause what's done is done. There's countless of chances that gamblers would always arrive at these kinds of thoughts, so I'd advise learning how to deal with it so it wouldn't affect your matters outside of gambling that much. Reducing the amount of money to gamble or lessening your time in gambling isn't really a solution, since those thoughts would still come, one way or another.
5190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Yuan as a possible Cyber Weapon on: March 22, 2020, 12:13:36 PM
Just wondering, does it need some sort of backing to exist since it is digital? Will the value be tied up to their local fiat? Also, maybe this digital yuan is aiming to be like the US dollar, but in digital form.
It doesn't seem so based on what I understood on the available information given about it. They described it as something different from Bitcoin or stable coins after all, so yea. They did state that it would work in a two-tiered system though, where the Peoples Bank of China would be at the top and the commercial banks below. It just further reinforces the fact that they could pretty much see every transaction made when using Digital Yuan. The testing was supposed to happen at either end of 2019 or the start of 2020, but possibly because of the coronavirus, testing has been postponed temporarily.
5191  Economy / Economics / Re: A little good news for Asia on: March 22, 2020, 12:02:41 PM
Just like how a sudden jump in price encounters a rebound, a sudden drop would naturally come as well. Especially since traders are bound to realize. Realize that the cause of their suddenly sell off to the market is just "panic". A baseless reason to suddenly lose profit off, and once they see that the market has well, entered such a low point that profit can easily be seen, then they'd probably start entering, most if not all of them. Sadly, we are still in that state of "panic" so we can't really hit it off with the market right now.
5192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TOP 6 RULES IN CRYPTO TRADING on: March 22, 2020, 11:35:17 AM
Rule #1 isn't a rule anymore, it's required for you to do so. Also, I guess calling it crypto trading is way too farfetched cause of rule #6. You could call it trading at this point in time since the other rules can strictly be applied to trading in general as well. You should probably add the mindset in trading as a rule. Don't cross out the possibility of losing money, in fact, expect it. There was never a trader who never lost any money after all. Even the best traders have, one way or another, lost a trade. Plus, fear is a factor that can be very hard to assume, so just do what you want tbh. Stop looking for guides on what to do, and trade when you want to, exit when you want to.
5193  Economy / Economics / Re: Virus Bear Market? on: March 22, 2020, 10:27:37 AM
Gold crashed as well mate. Not a single market was spared with the impact of the recent panic virus attacks. As for why BTC was hit, well, instead of the virus, it would be more apt to say that the panic hit BTC instead. As you know, before the BTC market crash, stock market crashed. This was then followed by continuous negative news regarding the spread of the virus, and imo, probably caused a chain reaction of panic towards the traders of BTC, which then lead us to the current situation. You could even say that the entire economy crashed because of the virus, whether it be a direct or indirect cause.
5194  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price drop 40% we thing causes "Corona virus" and world economic problem on: March 22, 2020, 09:56:26 AM
Initially, tbh, it could've been controlled. Sadly, China failed to realize the possible repercussions of letting it roam free at its initial phase, hence the immediate spread of it towards other countries. Not only that, they only realized it when the number of cases has numbered over a hundred or 2. Sure, even if we do say that they quarantined everyone, some may still have escaped. BUT the idea of having alerted the country towards the damages this virus could cause, countries to become more avid in deploying resolutions so as to prevent its spread.

Additionally, I doubt the virus itself was the problem for BTC drop. Especially since if you were to look at it, the virus couldn't even touch BTC even if it wanted to. Sadly, the virus could affect the mind sets of the traders, hence the massive panic which resulted in the massive sell out of BTC, which lead to a huge crash of more than 50%.
5195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything could be gambling on: March 22, 2020, 09:35:10 AM
Doesn't gambling always have something at stake? Whether it be something physical or imaginary, it'd still be something at stake. Just that, skill-based gambling can't really be called a gamble. A gamble, in its fullest sense, is something in which the winner heavily relies on luck itself to win. There are no precedents about it, nor is there any chance of you actually winning because of your skill. Even if we say that you had some insider news, that in itself, would still be called luck.

Matters of winning and losing isn't really gambling imo, but they do offer risks. Like everything out there is. Just that, there are different factors that could affect if you would receive or avoid the said "risk", hence the luck factor in gambling and skill factor in playing.
5196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I still need help on: March 22, 2020, 06:12:55 AM
You can look up BB code guides on the internet to understand more on how forum posts are being manipulated to change colors, add symbols, links, images, etc. BB codes are in a sense, tags that help you manipulate words that are inside those tags. If you've tried coding HTML or something, the idea is pretty similar. If not, well just keep posting, you'd get used to it sooner or later. There's also an easy to use UI above the textbox when you reply and create a post, but learning them from scratch wouldn't really hurt you that much. Once you reach Jr. Member, I don't think there are still that many restrictions on adding elements to your post, so get there first.

*Some codes on the net may differ from the ones here, but the essence should relatively be the same.
5197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Digital Yuan as a possible Cyber Weapon on: March 22, 2020, 06:06:12 AM
Summary of the article basically describes how digital yuan could be used as a cyber weapon, especially because of how China has developed its own system of payments from the past. They, as the country who pushes forward with mobile-first payments, have already dominated people with no bank accounts. A lot of fear towards the Digital Yuan is presented because of how China could potentially spread it not only in their country, but also overseas. This was the so-called new Silk Road of China. And there's also how the US sees no need for their own Central back to develop a digital currency.

Tbh, I'm more than up to it for the digital payment system that China is currently pushing for. The idea that is, but them doing it? Not so much. IF you were to navigate on the bottom of the article, it has already stated how the system introduced could induce a control freak like attitude from China. Just like how most of their country ( if not whole ) is observed by the Skynet system, it shows that they could observe every transaction made, and freeze any transactions or even seize their assets.

Of course, Bitcoin is doing something similar to this, but China holds the upper hand in spreading its influence right now. Just like what the US fears, China could harness the system of Alipay and WeChat. If spread across Asia, ignorance could lead to acknowledging this instead of Bitcoin because of the mass influence those apps could bring to Social Media.

5198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency fraud and scams on: March 21, 2020, 12:04:53 PM
Research isn't everything, and even if one isn't a fraud or a scam and is a legitimate project, one's own judgment is really important. You aren't participating in projects just for the sake of participating in them, but rather for a return of investment you've made in the beginning. Hence, any project whether it be a legitimate or a fraud, one needs to understand the core concept and see if it is viable and would the market be willing to accept them. Frauds are hard to spot yes, but projects that could bring about profits are much harder.

Asking a project/exchange whether they are a scam or not is legit a stupid thing to do. It's not your first day on the net, why bother doing such a thing? The only person you could trust here would probably be yourself since any info on the net could actually be fake for all you know.
5199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things you shouldn't do when gambling at casino this time... on: March 21, 2020, 11:38:41 AM
Things you shouldn't do:
Don't go to gambling casinos IRL.
End of story.

Though really, I doubt gambling casinos would risk opening their businesses at the current state of things. I don't know about others, but the government here has already stated that other than stores that sell goods (snacks, sanitizers, medicine, etc.) that are used every day, every other store should close down temporarily, at least until the quarantine is over. Must say though, that it's a good decision by them to make that kind of order official. At least, the possible spread could be lessened. Though it wasn't an official order, at least they have stated their stand on it.

On a side note, ngl, walking at the roads with almost no one, no cars, no bikes, no whatever feels really nice. The world should make a holiday about something like no vehicles on the road next time.
5200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Types of People on this Corona Virus crisis which group you belong? on: March 21, 2020, 11:13:05 AM
I'm on the bottom seeker side, though I don't really consider myself wise. I exited the market when BTC hit $10k cause I really needed all the funds I could get for a certain project of mine. Then the virus panic spread and our place got quarantined so I couldn't really do much about it. Went and visited the market and saw a deep dive made by the BTC, so I said to myself, heck why not. A better name would probably lazy seeker tbh, cause my mindset was pretty simple. The market price was low? Ok time to enter again easy.
