521  Economy / Speculation / Re: ELLIOTT WAVE ANALYSIS OF BITCOIN (BTC/USD) PRICE on: August 23, 2016, 07:17:16 PM
LOL @ fucking idiots ITT entertaining the idea of $100/btc when there is absolutely no reason for it go fall that much besides some imaginary chart theories

Perfect example of completely misunderstanding bitcoin's value and where it comes from. You can't apply traditional chart analysis to bitcoin - ask Matthecat how that went. Things like elliot wave have no meaning here.
This. Also any value lower that $100 or even $300 or even slightly more will cause bitcoin mining to crash.
Economy is not that old branch of science, Industrial Revolution happened 250 years ago and progress happened too fast in short amount of time to create current highly unstable economic markets.

Bitcoin was invented less than decade ago. Trying to measure it purely with standard economic tools is totally missed idea.

You're thinking in terms of economics. Elliot Wave Theory, and other chart analysis tools, can be viewed as mass psychology tools. Bitcoin may be a new market, but it's controlled by the same, predictable human psychology that has ruled all markets since the stone age.

Yes because bitcoin price movements have been so predictable!
522  Economy / Speculation / Re: call an end to the rally on: August 19, 2016, 06:39:31 PM
After some analysis tonight, I have come to the conclusion that the most likely end to the current rally will be at 1 btc = $4.54.  When I say end, I mean a major top will form and the price will drop at least 33% from there.  I will be putting in a sell order at $4.25 for my entire account as soon as I transfer my bitcoins there.  I'll go a step further and call an end to the drop at around parity.

Anyone else have any predictions for a top?  Anyone think it will go up and up forever without any major pull-backs?
Your prediction is pure negative. But theres a possibility it will turn into that price as you predicted. But for me bitcoin will never fall to that price again. Bitcoin is very popular right now so the demand of bitcoin will increase and the price of bitcoin a piece will rise too. Bitcoin price.is hard to predict. Its hard to know when it rise or drop. But we all hope it will rise.
You need read first before posting these post belong to year 2011 and the price of bitcoin at that time is in cheap price I hope op grab that opportunity and not waste any bitcoin they buy , now he is rich.

Lol... the dude he is replying to is also in jail for life... doubt he's reading this
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: August 19, 2016, 05:38:15 PM
Its probably a pyramid. JUST DO NOT BUY STEEM AND ONLY CASH OUT THE STEEM YOU EARN. IF YOU DO NOT ACTUALLY BUY BUT JUST USE THE PLATFORM YOU CANNOT BE BURNED. JUST THINK OF IT AS A BONUS IF YOUR ABLE TO CASH OUT SOME MONEY.

Agreed with this. If you just use the platform, get lucky and make some money then it's all good.

Investing in Steem was a terrible idea for me. It seems like the way the inflation is set up is not only to encourage users to convert whatever they have to SP, but also to take $$ from people who invest and distribute it to the users.

If you invest and just sit on Steem or Steem Power you are fucked.

I had $3.5K worth of SP a month ago... the # of SP I have in my wallet increased significantly but but my overall account value is now $1K.... LOL wtf is this? I know Steem went though a "bubble" recently, but even then the inflation is so ridiculously high that it's nearly impossible for Steem to go back to the $3-$4 range now.

The interest you get in SP is an illusion that makes you think that you are earning money/interest... but the inflation of Steem totally negates any SP earnings you get by letting your account sit. I knew there was some trick to this mechanism.

The only way I can get my $3.5K back is to earn it though posts that make a few grand... which is tough to do if you're not a hot girl or someone who's famous.

Then I have to power down and wait 104 weeks to get my full amount back. Of course, since I'm being paid back in weekly installments of Steem... by the time the 2 years pass the Steem inflation will be so high that whatever I get back in Steem will be worth peanuts. So essentially, I'm never getting the amount I power down... each payment will give you back the same # of Steem but they will be worth significantly less because of the ridiculous inflation and however the fuck "vests" work. No wonder the system is so complicated, it's starting to make sense where the money comes from

525  Economy / Speculation / Re: call an end to the rally on: August 17, 2016, 11:57:46 PM
well, the market is closer to my parity prediction than the previous high.  Anybody wanna join my bear-camp?  Still not too late!  Btw I sold about 100 bitcoins at $31/btc, that felt good  Cool

So zooming out to 1d on the chart, from 5/24, bitcoin is just looking like your typical PnD bubble that we've seen so many times before.  A blow off top, followed by long legs down.

Looks like it could eventually deflate all the way back to ~450.  Undecided

So Dafar, still mocking me thus far?

About deflating all the way back to ~$450? Yes

Of course you used the word "could", and in that case I'd agree with you since anything could happen... but I'm still bullish for the rest of this year and next year

528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 14, 2016, 03:44:37 AM

Oh really! I assumed everyone on here has 10+ by he way they talk.

Do you think scary up or scary down!  Shocked

that's not the impression I get about holders. i'm sure there are some big swinging dicks and they're clever enough to keep quiet but there are polls on here quite often and thw answers are either a surprisingly large amount or a surprisingly pitiful amount and not much in the middle.

i'm going for scary down because maybe bitfinex going more wrong might scare the traders. let's see. if you're here for the long haul none of that matters anyway.

How many is considered big swinging dick?

Pretty sure Adam has thousands. Unless he left them on gox  Wink

I mean, let's say I know you are going to vote anonymint with 80% chance, then my risk is too low. He'll get my upvote quickly to front-run "smooth the whale". Now repeat this with every other whale and their favorite authors, or even comment authors, and you are suddenly milking the curation through automation via a robotic circle-jerk. Humans are pretty "low entropy" in their behavior and it's not gonna get better anytime soon.

Having said that, we are far from being in a totally broken system.

This is why I vote people like heiditravels 30mins to an hr after she blogs, there's never a shortage of whales on those. It's amazing how many people do the same.

I agree with iamnotback that it's hard to form a community when whale votes are the only ones that really count. Every other vote is almost negligible
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: August 12, 2016, 02:54:35 PM
Could someone please give me some love?

Dude I thought you hated steemit.... now ur a regular user, becoming a whale and asking for votes? lololol what happened to steemit = pyramid scheme?  Cheesy

well people at first see that it is possible to make some easy money with it so they think it is a scam, and then later they try to jump into the train

What is wrong with getting paid for analyzing every facet of Steem I need to analyze to determine with more certainty its future and thus my future w.r.t. to it. It is analysis I would need to do anyway. By doing it with a community spirit, I get paid, I share with them, and so someone can use the information to for example improve Steem or make a better competitor, which ever turns out being the free market result.

At the same time, I have to also make sure I have enough cash to survive so I can continue to work full-time on this stuff. Before Steem I was reduced to about 4-5 months of cash remaining. Now with Steem's help, I am back up to 8-9 months of cash reserves (including the expenses for my gf + her sister to go back to university this Oct).

I have many stress on me from many different angles (health cliff, financial cliff, career end cliff, etc). I am trying to navigate these. I had no really good plan B options (although some might develop soon). There is no family in the USA that will help me. I am on my own. I refuse to take handouts from the government or go on Obamacare. I'll die here instead of do that. I have my ethics. I have no place to live if I don't have money. No one will offer me a place to live (well @rpietila did in his castle in Estonia but that just seemed too weird and I don't function well in very cold climates, I get very depressed)

Do not assume I have 100% joined Steem(it). I am not sure yet my decision, but I will tell you that I have an awesome name for a competitor and it isn't Cooprate.com.

At the same time, I need to be realistic. If the open source momentum has entirely shifted to Steem(it) and I don't have any earthshattering secret advantages, then it may be suicidal to try to compete. But if I think Steem is going to fail and I determine that working within their structure provides no opportunity to make it succeed, then it makes sense to go compete.

I am still evaluating and my mind is spinning because I am also battling this illness at the same time. I am having some good energy now unlike last year. I am very upbeat but I've got to produce and pronto, so I can't always slow down to explain...

Quote
Btw, just want you all to know **it is Friday**. I was just informed that **it isn't Tuesday**. In my mind, Sunday was just 2 or 3 days ago.

I haven't had time to look at the clock at the lower right side of my computer. Sometimes I resist going to urinate because don't have time for that either. I can't remember when I last showered.

This has been a crazy period ever since I joined Steem(it) I think perhaps I've averaged only 4 - 5 hours sleep per day and something like 120 hours of work per week.

I do manage to get my daily 2.5 km run in. And the run is getting consistently better. So I am upbeat, but I still have light-headedness and other ups and downs of the physical condition. But it is nothing like totally debilitating like last year.  It is just a struggle sometimes to want to be at full blast and being at maybe 60 - 80% (like a slight headache, body might feel weak, stomach and feet may be inflamed). It is progressing. It is just daily battle. I am  not a hypochondriac. I am very tough guy. This shit is real. I battle it hard! Basically assume I am recovering from Multiple Sclerosis. How many people accomplish that! You don't know how depressing it is to every day have my body do some fucking weird thing that I can't stop. You have no idea what it is like to be sick every day of your life. But as I said, it is getting better. I am upbeat.

Any way, I don't need empathy. I shouldn't responded. The only thing that matters now is production from me. Period. I need my own body to perform. I need my will power and discipline.

I was just kidding man, not trying to give you a hard time. I'm sorry to hear about your problems though, but you're a smart guy and I think you'll be just fine.

Did rpietila actually offer you to stay with him?  Shocked

And as for your competitor.... is it "Yours" ?  Smiley

As for steemit.... I had half the amount of SteemPower a month ago, but twice the value I have today. I'm not a fan of the inflation rate. I think I need to start posting to maintain my investment... but I'm not a big writer, nor a hot girl, nor someone famous and I refuse to write a blog about how great steemit is to fish for whale votes. Hopefully there will be more people in the site who appreciate my sense of humor because right now only specific types of posts get all the votes

You don't need to report the price to us everyday.... lol

Why not?
We used to have chartbuddy here, price updates on a regular basis.

Jimbo's good morning is a nice mantra. I hope he keeps on greeting us every single day.

No it's not, every time he posts the price stays the same and WILL stay the same until he stops. It's the only explanation on why they price is so low at this point

539  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the bull run that doesn't end.. on: August 08, 2016, 01:35:07 PM
It's a pretty good bull run we're having, and it's been rising pretty much since last year, though we stalled out for a while.  It's crazy to think that signature campaign earnings could feed someone in a poor country.  Can you imagine if we got to $10,000 or higher?  Assuming payouts didn't decrease, that would be unreal.

How much have you made though signature campaigns?

I'm considering it... but dont wanna sell my soul  Grin

i'm waiting for a dip,
but i dont NEED to buy.... i will survive the coming fiat melt down  Cheesy

Ended up buying some more right now.... waiting for the weekend dip cost me a $50 premium, fuck  Angry Angry Angry
