Gets to a point were an extra unit could circumvent the loss as there is no way to recoup time but then spare parts are essential for these machines anyway.
522  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: March 08, 2019, 03:39:43 PM
I would have thought you or philip got demo's, maybe that the 851 or I need more coffee.
523  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: March 08, 2019, 02:47:59 AM
There's no reason for them to insure the shipment if they won't accept liability. The freighter will though, but it would a circle game since Innosilicon "paid" for the insurance etc.

Essentially this is reason we carter to buyers needs not to a single manufacturer. Zero clients have requested to use their coupon so far and we did have some high hopes for Inno early on but essentially consumers drive market even whales. Not much is happening through them even the chips we've sourced for domestic manufacturers really didn't go anywhere because again they're not looking to price to market, offer competitive shipping, and their BTC conversion is atrocious.

Even 50 units would easier to move without a discount if the product was priced competitively.
524  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Review: Bitmain Antminer S15-28TH/s on: March 08, 2019, 02:37:04 AM
We may need to start a "phil"-osophical thread.

I like both approaches. The only thing to consider is fact checking if handed answers and mathematics in school isn't what it once was either.

That given my 30A 240v amp lines wont touch a s15/t15 until the psu is rated for higher. As it's not worth the risk for my very small set up to short myself on any warranty at all.

T15s look available for now.
527  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: March 04, 2019, 11:52:41 PM
Looks like we're still waiting on new batches for the US market odd though that the CN site is pushing T15 for April. Wonder if our groups fill what date Bitmain give us.
528  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how many S11,S15,T15 did bitmain actually manage to sell? on: March 04, 2019, 06:27:32 PM
Well, now we're getting side tracked cause as I'm more interested in how you drive revenue to cover all costs without selling bitcoin. I'll just say L2 is great for commerce, imo.

We send wires for the average consumer only if it's more cost/time efficient, usually it's for larger orders or innosilicons poor exchange rate.

Bitmain has sold enough units to survive and to continue development of new product. Of course they trimmed a lot of meat with the fat, so that could be a sign of why their new announcement seems really sudden but they need to keep moving. Only thing helping them is the biggest consumer market is reluctant to buy with tariffs, slowing sales all around.
529  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing GekkoScience's new USB stick miner, the aptly-named NewPac on: March 02, 2019, 09:54:48 PM
Even at stock speeds I'd run a fan on the newpacs. 70-90 CFM should be fine per GS Hub.
530  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: March 02, 2019, 09:50:34 PM
We'll see whats available Sunday night. Looks like our orders we're all submitted to them yesterday.

Might be tough on timing for the next batches as these last were a month away.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1660 TI hashrates ?? on: March 01, 2019, 05:57:26 PM
who is so dumb right now to be mining at current prices?

If a computer is on and not in use why wouldn't you. Looks like the 1660 ti are priced well for the most part. I'm particular to my 1070 ti's.
532  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: March 01, 2019, 04:53:44 PM
Yea, no way to import these and be cost effective. Innosilicon shipping rates are about $100 or more over priced and it's still cheaper to send a wire than BTC. I think the T3 asks for over $200 a unit to ship.
533  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: February 28, 2019, 04:48:21 PM

Hey, new here and testing out ckpool

So how is it you actually make it into the top 100 ?

Say you run around 25TH for a week, is that sufficient?

Check the pool site and see about where your hash will land you on active users. You'll need to leave the hash rate here more than a week I imagine.

Greetings.  I'm Dord, but you can just call me noob.  I am in a situation where I don't pay for the electricity in my office.  I can probably get away with having one little ASIC and stay under the radar.  So, I picked up an 841 for very little just to check it out for kicks.  (I'm obviously not going to buy my first home with this... but maybe some paper towels on occasion)

If I were to join CKPool, would I be such a piddly little player in this pool of pros that it wouldn't be worth the while?

thx

I would check the draw and use a power cost calculator you might find even on industrial asic could be pretty noticeable cost wise. Maybe a $100 or so added to the electric bill a month.

Lightning will make even wires obsolete even with the low bandwidth at it's current state. The biggest manufacturers we source with are already beginning to pivot.

Nice, not bad timing. Wink
536  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: February 27, 2019, 10:05:20 PM
Zero pre orders here. Such a long wait time since announcement, no go on getting live demo either. Innosilicon needs to look to pricing to market or release within 30-60 days. Now they're happy to host your asic for a poor rate as well.

I think manufacturers are using the tariffs to sell this service when they don't realize miners want/do run their own businesses and have worked hard to get rates or efficiencies to drive profits for their circumstances. I can say zero sales could be an anomaly or a sign they're struggling. Bitmain's announcement only amplifies the latter as who is going to invest on a large scale now?

Bring your best and be first to market.

Imagine the response to a 30 day release of the A10 or T3 when first announced.

Just noticed the MOQ drop to one on the T3.
537  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: February 27, 2019, 06:40:36 PM
Maybe after coupons expire. At least Bitmain and Canaan price well compared to others.

Was there a command for difficulty in grin 29? I asked before and didn't see a reply.

Thanks got my order for 10 units tracking..  Smiley

Nice, hopefully all the bugs are finally worked out for our auto-notifications.
540  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Any suggestions or experiences on using a voltage stabilizer/regulator on: February 26, 2019, 06:26:00 PM
UPS is still good pending the installation. Expensive yes but downtime can be as well for some. Essentially a small good setup you can forget about pending hardware issues.

I'd recommend a UPS, 4G LTE fail over if it's in the budget. Back generators too.

Bitmain's psu is the only reason I haven't bitten on a new unit, since adding a UPS isn't going to work for me either regarding cost.
