what is the hashrate for 270x and 290 non x on x13mod?
I get 2.95 with a ref R9 290 non x

524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Memory clock fluctuating on: May 28, 2014, 10:27:53 AM
Hi there!

So, I got 6x R9 290 spread over 2 rigs, and for a while now, when using x-11 miner (sph, drk miner or even the new one from lasybear) I have noticed that 1 random card always have those weird fluctuations more than others and as such, hashes slower. Usually the fluctuation on that specific card just get worse in time and as such, the hash drops even further.
Now, when I say random card, I really mean it, sometimes its card number 1, sometimes number 2 and sometimes number 3. Mostly 3 though and it shows like this:

 GPU 0:  71.0C  72%    | 3.662M/3.638Mh/s | R:  3.0% HW:0 WU:0.054/m I:19
 GPU 1:  65.0C  66%    | 3.613M/3.628Mh/s | R:  1.8% HW:0 WU:0.052/m I:19
 GPU 2:  66.0C  67%    | 3.222M/3.284Mh/s | R:  2.9% HW:0 WU:0.044/m I:19

As you can see, card #3 hashes at 400kh/s less than the other 2.

Here's a screen shot of the fluctuations I'm talking about:

I tried different configurations and I would try changing some hardware, but what I didn't mention is that both rigs are completely different with the exception of the cards and the PSU (1000w Corsair).
1 rig is made out 8gb ddr2 ram, asus motherboard and amd cpu while the other rig is made out of a 8gb ddr3, gigabyte motherboard and intel cpu.

*Note: When mining Scrypt or N-factor coins there's no issue whatsoever.
Oh and I forgot to mention that while using girinos miner (the 2% fee one) than half the times I manage to get the cards to run just fine while in the other half it's similar to what I wrote.
** I've tried powertune +20,+40,+50 but haven't seen any change.

Any ideas? Been at it for some time now...
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][X11] X11 (Darkcoin etc) miner (based on sph-sgminer) on: May 27, 2014, 02:26:54 PM
So, got 2 rigs each with 3x r9 290 and the 3rd card in each one always reports lower hashrate with this miner (tried using all the versions posted here)
Here's how it shows:

 GPU 0:  71.0C  72%    | 3.662M/3.638Mh/s | R:  3.0% HW:0 WU:0.054/m I:19
 GPU 1:  65.0C  66%    | 3.613M/3.628Mh/s | R:  1.8% HW:0 WU:0.052/m I:19
 GPU 2:  66.0C  67%    | 3.222M/3.284Mh/s | R:  2.9% HW:0 WU:0.044/m I:19

It's identical in both rigs (first 2 GPUs are 3.6mh/s while 3rd one is 3.2mh/s). Tried swapping cards location, playing with configs, numerous restarts, but nothing helped.

When mining Scrypt, n-Factor or x-11 using girino's they're all stable (getting 3.6mh/s with girino's as well)

Any ideas why that is happening?

merc, googling tells me this may be a real, but quiet, problem.  With your pool I see something I've never seen before:

[07:38:09] Rejected 0b268235 Diff 0.090/0.068 GPU 2 Pool 0 (unauthorized worker)

Not a whole lot, but enough to be a fairly significant waste of mining power.  Can you please check your logs and see if you can find/fix this bug?  I get quite a few of these in my logs.

Likewise, just got it this morning.

Sounds good but will need a Windows version as well as some software guru to check the code out, see that it's clean Smiley
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Comparing Applies and Oranges in cgminer for scrypt on: May 22, 2014, 08:11:32 PM
It's easy to compare scrypt performances between whatever, your problem, which is the difference you are seeing between rigs, is due to the amount of errors you're getting, which is a lot. In fact, everything > 1 is bad. You should have 0 HW errors.
Go over your config and readjust it to fit your cards.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Frankenmint's Alpha-T BONUS groupbuy on: May 22, 2014, 10:57:31 AM
The tradeoff here is that you do not own the hardware but in fact get to use it for 36 months.
And here I thought that the tradeoff is that you in fact don't know for certain when they will deliver or even if they will.  Roll Eyes

Gridseed, although I think it's garbage as well, is at least real and can be bought immediately.

Another update to our blogs!!!  Alpha-T..... http://helixminers.com/alpha-technology-open-ethical/

-HELIX TEAM
Are you serious?  This is some of the shottiest un-researched crap I've read (and that's saying something!).

Did you even read their forums and news history, or simply look at their home page?  (rhetorical question - obviously only the latter).

We did read more than just their home page. We've looked at various sources, including several threads on reddit, Bitcointalk, and Litecointalk as well as Alpha Technology's News page on their website. And the thing is, they really don't have a lot to show. They say they're going to ship within a few months, yet that doesn't seem likely. Furthermore, you might want to see this latest development: http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/266bf4/alpha_technologies_asic_scrypt_miner_look_what_i/
Of course, you're free to have your own opinion and if you have any constructive criticism, we'd appreciate it. But just dismissing our work as "some of the shottiest un-researched crap" doesn't really help anyone.  Undecided
Not sure what's with all the hate here but I actually liked your reviews, because in essence you're showing that excecpt for Gridseed everything else is vaporware (for the time being) and as such should be treated with caution.
Can't blame you guys on the quite empty reviews tbh, not much to go on with all these "companies" - lots of "news" but no products.
And don't mind phzi, he's invested in Alpha-T, so it's obvious why he's irritated when he reads bad news about them.

This card is good but it is not profitable to buy any more. Read up and understand difficulty...
Read up from when I made this thread and understand how forums work...

1. Your answers are wrong.
2. You necro'd a half a year old thread, congrats.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: will 3 or 4 of 290 non x handle psu or not? on: May 16, 2014, 12:14:46 AM
so if I buy 1300w, then I can fit 4 cards + system in it.
The 290 consume anywhere between 225w to 375w depending on how you under/over clock them. So yo answer your question (was it a question?): yeah, you could, so long as you're not planning on overclocking it and you make sure you undervolt it.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: will 3 or 4 of 290 non x handle psu or not? on: May 15, 2014, 11:23:52 PM
are you mining x11 coin or another coin? x11 coin has energy efficient? it is half of scrypt power. it use less energy. Smiley

if I guess if I buy like 1300w gold, then I can put all 4 x 290 + system in one psu ( 1300w).
I'm talking about scrypt / n-factor algos. With x11 I reckon 1k PSU can hold 4 cards, but you're gonna limit yourself to only x11 coins.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: will 3 or 4 of 290 non x handle psu or not? on: May 15, 2014, 10:59:05 PM
I got 3 of those with a 1k PSU and its fine.
but it won't hold 4 cards unless you do some serious undervolting & underclocking.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source XPM Pool + GPU Miner (aka. madPrimeMiner) on: May 14, 2014, 11:41:32 AM
Is this project still open source ?
I spoke to eXtremal and he said he'll keep it open source.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source XPM Pool + GPU Miner (aka. madPrimeMiner) on: May 14, 2014, 11:40:39 AM
i have 68CPD power

the profit calculator says i suppose to mine 55xpm a day with current diff, and through the last day i mined about 40xpm.

11ch 32,27 times less then 10ch (must be 10-12, profit calculator also use same coefficient), original miner not ready for 11ch, I'm working on it.

I replaced kernel and tried to connect to your pool, however the program closes immediately after opening after an error code that I dont have time to read...

I tried with both kernels (ch10 & ch10) and program refuses to run

(also copied the cl files from the GPU patch folder, although i dont know if they were needed)
Are you using 13.12 drivers? Gotta use 14.4 drivers...

so what is better?
This, much lower cpu load, almost the same speed, open source.
And dunno about you, but when I run the numbers, I lose an extra 10% of my coins somewhere. Either Claymore is taking more than 10% or yool just steals.
This miner gives me a higher net.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty - Help w/ 5 R9 290 rig on: May 12, 2014, 12:19:28 AM
Just to update you guys - it appears that changing the screen resolution was the culprit for the blackscreen. What crust!

Anyhoo, I was able to successfully install the 13.12 drivers and now the one card I have connected says AMD Radeon R9 290 series. The monitor defaulted as high res so I don't need to change it. I'll be shutting down and adding cards! Wish me luck!

Any idea which version of AMD Catalyst to try?

13.12 shows it has the 13.25 Display drivers

This is fine.
