521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 30, 2024, 09:51:46 PM
Edit: Gabriel Jesus has finally break through the defense of Nottingham forest as he sneak into their defense to receive a throwing ball. A good reward for all that wonderful possessions in this match. He scored with a clean finish on the 65th minutes when the the host goal keeper was thinking that he will cross out the ball.

NFO 0-1 ARS
Yes. Arsenal pocketed 3 points with a score of 1-2. This was a perfect result for Arsenal after Jesus and Saka each scored one goal. Even though Jesus was the best player in this match, Saka was the sweetener, so Awoniyi's goal in the 89th minute did not reduce the number of points obtained.
After playing the whole of first half without a goal, I felt it was going to be just another hard luck game for Arsenal, where they would have all the upper hand, stats to the game but wouldn’t be able to find the winner. Fortunately for the team, the G. Jesus moment presented itself from a throw so unexpectedly. Normally, it’s a ball one would have hoped that, he would drop a pass backwards to fine anyone in the yellow shirt but, it was obviously a moment for him to be stingy with the ball like a striker would, went for the goal and he broke the deadlock.
Saka on the other hand had just the ample of space his been looking for all game and there wasn’t a way he wasn’t going to have that at the back of the net. It’s an important point for them still to keep there hold and it’s one that was well won because, Awoniyi almost took that away from them.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 29, 2024, 11:59:54 PM
it is another opportunity for Liverpool to add points but I am hoping the match to be a drag between both teams and the game should end draw so that we are going to have more chance of winning the EPL now that Salah is not around since is suffering from injury makes it easier for us to take advantage of the whole EPL and even Chelsea should be able to take advantage of this situation to,  and Chelsea is not even at there best to me they are just a club struggling.
Your first statement that talked about Chelsea being an opportunity for Liverpool to add to there points almost gave me the impression of you having to write off Chelsea. Like I get it, they are not in the best of form neither do they seem like a team with any substantial challenge for Liverpool but, they are tough non the less. Liverpool aren’t looking really bad without Salah, they’ve got the likes of J. Elliott who remains capable of handling the wings, getting those balls in, Luis Diaz on the other flank and Darwin Nunez haven’t been so bad but, Chelsea aren’t so bad as well. They’ve got Palmer who has been doing a lot for the team, getting those shots out, goals and have got Sterling for support.
523  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 29, 2024, 11:48:10 PM
Do we agree that it is a feeling of pride that they have superior knowledge on issues than others because of their ranking?
I’ll put this in question format;
Will you be proud of yourself should you someday attain the Hero/Legendary rank on this forum? (Don’t need you to answer that out loud though, just to yourself)

Again, the idea that legendary or ranked users have got superior knowledge is false. You might refer that in contexts of the forum and even that could be wrong too. As, not so many users explore every aspect of the forum. Some users stick yo a niche and that’s how the knowledge on the forum is carved too.

Quote
They are most times emotional and personal in their contributions to issues of public concern.

Who else is noticing this attitude as a newbie or member?
Being personal and personal about contributions,,,
Well, haven’t been on the forum for sometime, you get so attached to the forum and wouldn’t like to see anyone ruin the quality of things here. That is no excuse for being any abusive or use offensive words towards anyone just because of their forum rank but, some users just don’t learn from others and having to repeat what have been treated so many times just pushes for a little outburst from those that can’t handle it.

Best thing to do, understand that the forum is global, the diversity in humans and see some of these for some criticism. Focus on what’s positive and grow thick skin.
524  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 29, 2024, 11:33:04 PM
What is the opinion of members about this? Is it fine allowing members here to promote or mention competing forums without paying this forum owner or taking his permission  ?
That would be some way to put a heavy weight on free speech and by some means promote censorship but, that’s not what Bitcoin is about.

For many, Bitcoin signifies freedom. What would that really mean should discussions and the least things such as freedom of expression be censored in this way just for monetary gains… nope, the forum remains free to air except when it comes to services that tends to bring it in headlocks with the law as we have it with mixers in recent times.

Bu the way, you don’t compete good by placing restrictions on users of a forum against other closely related competitors. It’s an undermining of what you’ve got or is capable of archiving in a highly competitive environment. The focus always should be on what you’re not doing right other than restrictions.
That’s why you can find users on this forum being more expressive and releasing their full potent every time.
525  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion payment for those new member on evil IP. on: January 29, 2024, 11:25:12 PM
It happens at times, what you want isn’t always what you get but the good news is, earn some prominence on the forum and you might have a good chance at changing your user to what is appealing to you with some good reason.

On the other hand, you might want to read a little before laying your posts out there.

I know am new here, but I would like to given a suggest for make a new payment with bitcoin lighting or alt-crypto?

Since we are know lightning bitcoin is able to spend with small amount like a cent.
You know, for one that is completely ignorant of how Bitcoin transaction works and probably don’t own a sat, it’s always a hard to accept position that they’ve got to pay for an evil fee in the supposedly currency of the forum, Bitcoin. Still, it’s the only acceptable but again, having them transact on the LN that most users are still getting to know, it’s even way worst. Many clamor for it now due to the high fees but, this is just for a time.

A means to lay it all plan would be the email which is already in play. Do that and be free of evil fee or not sticking to an intended user.
526  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto Academy on: January 27, 2024, 05:42:08 PM

What truly distinct some individuals from others even within the same level of social stratification is in how much they know, there pursue for knowledge and what they intend to do with the acquired knowledge at an opportune time.
Knowledge is power they say.
We at some point had this misconceptions, these ideas that weren’t true or could be said to be mythical but as we engage in a field, we begin to get an understanding of how we have misunderstood the whole thing.
It’s an ignorance that envelopes a large part of the population still and has become a tool for government, antiBitcoins and critics out there but still, you find them trying to come up with a digital system to finance that seeks to mimic Bitcoin and other digital assets out there.

The forum don help teach many people and e still Dey teach till today. Na handing down and transfer of knowledge between people by sharing watin you know and discoveries. I no go really call am academy shah because, everybody Dey teach and learn. Other than other places where, you go just get some figure heads as teachers. It is what it is and that be, a forum, a community.
527  Other / Off-topic / Re: [privacy] Apple admits to secretly giving governments push notification data on: January 27, 2024, 05:31:53 PM
Our phones are becoming a Surveillance tool...
Not having to believe that these are been done on a daily basis would be one having to fool themselves as, entities that exists within a jurisdiction needs to have certain allegiances with the government for a smooth operation and through this, surveillance could be conducted on just anyone except for the government officials.
You never can really tell except in obvious cases where your being surveyed and even thought to be erased data would be revamped and used where necessary.
In the worst case, there would always be some policy not within public knowledge that sets the records just right in permits for the government and it’s agents to have access to these data.
528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You only got what you deserve on: January 27, 2024, 12:45:45 PM
Arguably you could say everyone gets what they deserve. The chemist will tell you, every action has an inverse and proportional reaction. Some other times, you do suffer for an action that doesn’t sterns from you but just because, you happen to be at the wrong place and at the right time or at the right place in the wrong time.

Coming to investment, some persons have been able to make their fortune through these shit coins, it doesn’t make it any less a shit coin as there are always victims. In most cases, these shit coins boom for a time and then those who are knowledgeable or adhered to there skepticism enough would withdraw while some others might prefer to wait, some others might see the growth and then invest without been aware that these coins are ready for a turn around towards the dip.

It’s an idea that has beseeched shit coins over the years that, most investors just wants to withdraw once it pumps, this might cause a dump for the project never to rise again. When you don’t share this idea, it’s more like you actioning what might be your downfall.

That’s why, most investors rely on Bitcoin, it’s got the idea of patience always gets you to profits.
529  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 26, 2024, 11:55:42 PM
One thing I am quite confident in is my skills in writing
This is one over looked skill which is apparently a very important aspect to our daily lives and skills around the world. Most of those who have been able to identify their writing capabilities for a skill, developed on it and utilize it for its best fit have benefited from this over the years.
I like the fact that you’re confident in it and actually realize this to be a skill, that means, you would sort for better.

Skills doesn’t rest on what you could do with your hands and your use of certain tools but also, in how your able to apply the least, not the least because many find it difficult but something as common as writing.

Owning a skill has been some means to validate yourself as a being, one without a skill is like one who is living on just a life line. That tells you just how useful having a skill could be.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 26, 2024, 11:43:14 PM
So I am need to know, is addiction only bad when it is a problem?

I don’t think we could call it addiction when it doesn’t constitute a problem. It doesn’t only end with you having to visiting the gambling house or site more often but, it’s got to reflect in how you manage your finances and life in general.

Having to gamble often and have no problems in my finance and life simply means, I’ve been able to master the act of gambling to a point where, it has no effect on me and that’s okay. That’s the point where most gamblers want to be. Even though you aren’t winning more often, the fact that you aren’t running into problems, taking loans, not having to take good care of yourself and the rest of issues that could be associated with bad financial management means, you’ve got a good orientation to gambling and that doesn’t constitute addiction.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 11:37:21 PM
Trust be told, most of us come into gambling for the very first time with the hopes that, we could win often. The financial benefits becomes the drag but after a lot of failed attempts at a win, you begin to understand that, the markets and odds out there are out to get you. You might win, it’s possible but, not often.
Having that conclusion, you begin to reorientate yourself and check your habits about gambling. Win it comes to fun and financial benefits, the financial benefits always comes first but when you just can’t make it, your attitude towards acceptance should always be, “what the hell” “some days are like that”. Be good!
532  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: January 26, 2024, 11:31:18 PM
This is almost impossible to do for an addicted gambler, once a person has become addicted to something, they need to avoid the source of their addiction completely, because if they do not and they keep going, even if at the time they can control themselves, they only need a single moment in which they lose their self-control to go back to their old ways, and this time around it will be way more difficult to leave their addiction as their confidence will be destroyed and their loved ones may not want to go through all of that process again.
You said almost impossible but I think, there is always a bit of possibility to a determined mind especially, when it’s got to do with behavior. Human behavior is just something that happens to build up through time and just in the same way, it could be solved in time, using series of steps to its resolution.
The first and most impairment of those would be, having an understanding that you’ve got a problem. A gambling addiction problem and recognize the fact that it ain't helping you any much to keep up with this behavior. Once you’ve been able to establish that clearly, you could go about taking other steps to help yourself and solve your addiction problem.
You might not even need therapy, just an understanding and with some determination.
533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange Bitcoin Key on: January 25, 2024, 11:33:21 PM
Why is the key accessible to a hacker but not to the owner of the coin? Why are there no exchanges giving users private keys?

The keys to the holdings or wallet of an exchange is not made available to just anyone, not any hacker. Hacks are always a deliberate and in most cases aided attempt by insiders to infiltrate a network or an exchange and still people’s asset.
It’s not like your coins are stored on a particular wallet but, it’s cumulatively stored on the exchanges wallet while giving you access to just about the amount of coins you thus deposit. That’s the case and it’s been serving just fine.

If you’re concerned about private keys or seed phrase and having sole custody of your coins, wallets are always there for you. Save or store your coins in non custodial wallet and you wouldn’t have to worry over hacks or having the closure of an exchange to be the end of your coins.

535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: January 25, 2024, 11:12:10 PM
Dominant performance and easy 5:0 win for Bournemouth against Swansea today and they are going in next round!
The flood gates was left wide open. How Bournemouth just scored goals after goals in the first half, they literally ended the game from the first half. First was a cross resulting from a set piece and it was taken quite perfectly to produce the first goal. Before 15 minutes into the game, we are talking about 3 goals already.
It was surprising for me that after a goal scoring first half, although most of the first team players was rested to avoid injuries and prepare for other competitions, they just couldn’t manage to score a single goal in the second half!
I would like to see some of that performance in the premier league.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gamblers do retired betting gambles on: January 25, 2024, 11:00:23 PM
There is nothing wrong with gambling at a later age in life. Gambling offers different kind of relief if one can handle it and for someone at the age of 60 and above that is into gambling is probably sone who has gambled for a long time and knows the pros and cons to it.
There is a fear of hypertension but, these guys just get amused at most of the results. What’s there to worry about after enjoying a long life.

I think there isn’t really an age limit for this activity or retirement as a whole. Having an age limit attached to it would flaw the system. One should only stop gambling if one happens to lose so much, isn’t catching the fun in it and when an individual has gone above reason. These could be pointers that tells you when to quit or give it a break.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 25, 2024, 10:49:14 PM
I rather have my peace than have to introduce anyone to an activity that could be addictive. Gambling is a very sensitive and risky business hence, having to teach one just another aspect to it that could possibly cause more losses is one thing that shouldn’t be done.
Who knows, he might just be good at the slot he plays and slots are played with very little funds. A few cent is enough to afford you few rounds but, that isn’t the case for sports betting. Sports betting have a more high stake for a limit compared to casino games.
In all, they both offer different advantages but, I have the feeling who ever is into some sports and gambles, will also be aware of the opportunities or markets to gambling that exists within the game.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons for personal financial accountability? on: January 24, 2024, 09:51:29 PM
You can almost always find a job, another question is what kind of work it will be, whether you are ready to do any work or not. And you should always have savings, in addition to your investments and everything else, you should have an untouchable reserve for different cases.
Having to always find a job is not often the case in many nations or should I say every nation. Else, why should we have refugees and homeless people living out there on the street and in shelters when they could get proper jobs, fix and live their life. I get it that at times and for some persons, they are not just in for work or having a job but, one cannot always find jobs out there waiting. That’s why, it’s ideal that for the most that could, they groom themselves to be entrepreneurs and actually provide some of these jobs.

If we look at finding a job in the context of just anything out there with a pay or salary, then we just might find people working and not being able to make anything of their lives. Those aren’t jobs, a work that doesn’t allow you to even afford yourself some basic necessities to life isn’t a job. You ought to work, earn and have some funds set aside from your earnings.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a social or casual good guesser make better gambling prediction carrier? on: January 24, 2024, 09:29:58 PM
This opted one of us to say to the champion that.... Oh wow, man, you are professional guesser. Maybe someone like you could be a professional gambling predictional.
When it comes to having such activities within yourselves, it’s much easier for one to come up with a close or some good guess because, without you having spilled out certain answers as you work, someone who knows you or is more closed to you might have discovered certain details about your person.
You can’t work with a total stranger right? Maybe you guys were once strangers but as time goes on, you get to bond in some way and get to know a little about yourselves. Social media could as well spill some details to your bio and family if you dwell in that space.
The knowledge of where you are in life as per status, age, when you got married and details like that could aid one to predict what could be based on what is expected.

Guessing in gambling, you might be lucky once or twice but having to build a career from such a field out of just guesses, you would lose more than you would think or imagine.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 24, 2024, 07:04:49 PM
Interesting time in Fantasy for all of us. Starting with a double in GW 25 and blank in 26 this is the part of the season where tactics and good decisions come to the fore. Take care to manage your chips as good as possible. free hit in GW 25 looks very nice if Salah is fit for those two games.
It’s a time where all I thought I now just cleared before my eyes that, I’ve got no tricks under my sleeves. This might as well be my lowest point for the season, below average, there isn’t a way I would have thought it possible but, it did hit me. So much for dependency and it took AFCON/Asian Cup to bring this to light. Biggest challenge ever, relying on the elite players and having to make the right choices in players I have just averaged.

This might just be the turning point for just anyone. So clueless but, hope to make positive changes to gain in on some of those points in the forth coming GW.
