521  Other / Meta / Re: Change username? on: January 16, 2024, 06:34:44 PM
I hope those that have managed to change the username from a time be in this forum to see and comment on this. Changing of username is possible and has been archived by a few even without being a donator and donating a whole 10BTC with the current price..: that’s not what it is. These where presets from a time when Bitcoin price was something easily affordable.

also here for the same question!! Huh

also here for the same question!! Huh

Can I change my name? Here is some admins?

There isn’t any need to come up with these post when you aren’t asking any different question other than as stated in OP. Worst still, you are just a newbie (on forum) and there isn’t much need to be worked up on changing your name. Most of those that have happened to need this change in the past are those that have attained certain rank on the forum and have archived so much with an account not to want a different account but for some reason, don’t want to be known by same username from account creation.

Hence, for those of you making this same posts, asking the same question rather than wait, observe the thread for comments and pick out answers that addresses the issue, you could be said to be spamming the forum with these comments.

Shocked thank you guys
This, this is one way to archive your spam title, no need for this!
522  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 16, 2024, 06:21:13 PM
It’s obvious most of your observation and speculation happens to be the case and users on the forum has teleported there accounts there in a bid to keep the acquired rank from BTT and other forums but, this doesn’t mean there would be any irrelevances in the traffic on here and how the forum is or should be run.
At the very least, the most that have changed on here is just the ban on mixers which have gained ground in another field. I mean, what would we have expect, they apparently is a needed service in the cryptospace and as such, needs a place to advertise.
Still, there isn’t any assurance that the fate of mixers on Bitcointalkforum wouldn’t be the fate of mixers elsewhere in the near feature. No reason to get worked up about it although, that wasn’t exactly the purpose of the OP.
523  Other / Meta / Re: Did you notice something a little weird? on: January 15, 2024, 01:03:34 PM

I don’t think there is anything weird about this, it’s as normal as it’s always been on my part of observation. Though I wouldn’t say I have taken the time to take a close look at the timing to this but, from population observation, the merit reflects on posts first and after few seconds or at most a minute reflects on the users merit counter. There is nothing to be worried about that. Once you can see your merit on the post of interest, you can be at piece that you merited just the right post from the right user and the merit count shouldn’t be much of a concern at that point.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 13, 2024, 06:31:27 PM
It’s been an interesting turn of event so far in the Newcastle vs Manchester City fixture. Where we have had the league favorites take the lead and in no time, lose that lead to Newcastle United. Manchester City has been ridden with errors after errors. Enderson had his round of errors before catching an injury and was substituted from the pitch, S. Ortega came in and you could see him making similar mistakes as Enderson.
Newcastle United continues to surprise me, some of there energy sterns from them having to play from a home side but, a part of me still tells me to be weary of Manchester United. You can’t really write them off and it would be interesting to see what changes Pep would bring on in the second half.
525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who is newbie and how long does it take to navigate the forum? on: January 13, 2024, 05:36:55 PM
Something I agree with you though, a newbie simply means someone that is new to…

Now, being newbie on the forum doesn’t necessarily mean you’re new to cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, it simply means you’re new to the forum. Though you might be a pro on some order platform and have got the bases to the cryptocurrency or bitcoin idea, you remain a beginner on the forum, as the rank states and that’s how your going to be addressed.

Now, the trick is, you’ve hot to learn the ways of the forum and how to adjust to fit in and that’s what makes you a newbie on the event that, your not new to cryptocurrency or Bitcoin.

~snipe~
Something I don’t very much agree with though is,
Your calculations on the logged in time. Forum takes into account minutes spent active online and I tell you, we don’t often spend much time online like we think.
I’ve been on the forum for at least 3years and my total time logged in is just about 51days.
Hence, 7hours or days might actually be a lot and we could as well find users to have been well above the newbie rank.

Possibly dust attack, but the amount spent on dust attack will be a lot less than 4 Euros and the attacker will send an amount that is the minimum funds that can be sent which poses a risk to your privacy.
My observation as well, 4€ is way too much for a dust attack as dust attacks constitutes amounts that have almost zero value.
Well, I can’t tell what might be the motive here but, it’s possible that something fishy might be the case since, the transaction is done without any plausible reason as per solicitation and probably, doesn’t constitute a region in it’s distribution.

Your reaction on the other hand would make all the difference. When you get such unsolicited coins in your wallet and it’s something that is been done to a whole other persons or wallet address, you have to watch it and tighten your security less, you lose everything.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 13, 2024, 03:29:48 PM
Seeing the title, I felt this thread was going to take a different direction but, am surprised at the turn it took but still, it’s a good move for sure. Especially as it is a problem in a society where taxe works so well but, it’s hardly the issue for most nations in Africa. You wouldn’t find most persons giving much attention to adopting this means with regards to taxe payment.
The turn on this part would be about, how to manage money especially in events that you’ve got a won bet.
Having to win a bet tends to motivate you to place more bets and that’s where the bad move usually is as, you tend to lose all your winnings eventually.

If you're in the US and wanna learn how to make money sportsbetting without making risky 1 sided bets, PM me.
You mean the accumulation bets when you say not one sided bets or something else? Don’t exist within that territory though. Neither am I confident in other gambler’s prediction.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 13, 2024, 03:02:04 PM
Chelsea want to win so bad even though they need to sacrifice 5 players to receive yellow cards, honestly it's shame, the match held in Chelsea's home and they're struggle to win. They need to play carefully or they will lose many players, they're currently lack of players because some of them are injured and absence due to international league.

Tomorrow should the most interesting match in this week.
I saw most of the Chelsea yellow cards to be uncalled for and out of some reckless tackles. It wasn’t much about them having to win so badly nope. The one card that was necessary was the Diego Silva yellow. It was well deserved and he never paid any attention to what his done but rather caution his colleagues on what was their position in the build up. The tackle was however tactically done, just a little knee jab at the waist to prevent that move on goal.

Chelsea had a good game none the less, they started the game with so much energy and pressure, pushed Fulham to a more defensive strategy but, they continue to have goal problems still. You can imagine Broja holding the ball for way too long even within the goalkeeper box, like what’s that.

Congrats mate.
You know, the forum could be such a hard place to be with the variant characters that exists on here but sometimes, that’s what makes the forum even the more beautiful and worth every admiration.
It’s a place where you got to meet people from every culture and background, beliefs and perceptions towards people and a thing. You would find reasons to not want to be here and as well, an understating of why you joined in here would override what ever negative energy that might flow within.

Being here 3years and staying active is truly a big deal, not so many could manage it but you do still and am sure to keep seeing you around as well. Keep adding value to the space and congrats once more.
531  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 11:16:34 PM

Nope, not in a bit.
I haven’t been able to seat or at any point have a thought on what could have been should I have avoided gambling. Not like I haven’t been met by a lose that wasn’t hurtful or there weren’t days I wished I didn’t have to gamble but, my gambling activities is by far something I’ve got a great level of control over. I could actually go yo a game house and not play any game. That’s just how much control I’ve got over it and every experience from it has been something for the moment.
I think I needed to experience what it is like and have an approach towards it so, I don’t regret having to gamble. Just ensure you’ve got great control over your gambling habits and there wouldn’t be need for regrets.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: January 12, 2024, 11:04:18 PM
You can test the water first by betting slowly until you get the tempo of winning streak then slowly increase your bet while you are still winning. Stop immediately when you encounter a lose or two because there’s a high chance that you will be tilted and chase loss until you lose everything.
And how often does this strategy works with you while gambling?
Anyway, it doesn’t really matter the answer you give but,
How is having to increase your stakes any different even while you win?
Truths be told, gambling is highly unpredictable and even in what could be seen for a winning streak, the only time you increase your stake might be the time that the loose kicks in.
I wouldn’t advise that, it’s one way to stir greed and the next you know, you’ve lost what could have been the result of a good day in one bad prediction.
I’ll rather keep the pace I’m on and accept what comes off it. Maybe increase at some point but, would be just to try what could be and that’s it. Especially when it turns out as a lose.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single or accumulation, which one do you prefer when it comes to sport betting on: January 12, 2024, 10:47:46 PM
I play both and so, it’s safe for me to say, am always quite confident in the single bets than the accumulation bets. It even gets more disappointing when you lose on an accumulation bet than you would say for the single bets. This is often the case due to the amount of energy one has to put in on making the predictions and in many cases. Most of them do play out until one rogue prediction messes up the whole pick.
Single bets gives you a chance to be at your best on a game but, you’ve got to go huge to make any worth of your prediction. That’s a safe place to play I tell you.
So yeah, it’s easier to choose the single bet if you’ve got the funds for it over the accumulation bet.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 11, 2024, 08:16:02 PM
Does that still apply even after confirming or authenticating your negative point transfer in a first instance before going for a second instance where you then apply the WC.
Any game week that you make use your WC, any and all transfers made prior and after will cover any hits. The week that I decided to use my wildcard, I had like 3 negative transfer hits which prompted me to use it and it cleared all incurred negative points for exceeding free transfer
Per game week huh! I guess that clears things as I had prior ideas on the WC usage.

@NotATether is a terrible captain idea.
Who else are you going to captain? There is actually nobody I trust this week unless we get some new Haaland/Bowen info.

I had captain on Bowen but he is probably out. Haaland still not back, not trusting other City assets against Newcastle away.
Haaland still out, that’s an information I needed but, with the probability factor still there, can’t say more although, it’s truly a tricky captaincy GW.
J. Bowen injury isn’t perceived to be as serious as feared and with them playing against a team like Sheffield United from a home side, you could always expect him to score but, his playing time could be in doubt as Moyes would want to play safe.
Other options might just be Foden for Manchester City or Douglas Luiz. I mean, Everton haven’t been bad but, they’ve got to conceive still.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 11, 2024, 07:51:38 PM
Manchester United is a no go area for me in terms of betting, this club has really made me loose money, i would rather play a game against Manchester united because the team is in a bad condition and their defense is very poor.
I haven’t been a good fan of Manchester United and not this season most especially but, they haven’t been that bad to be sincere. Although, we can say they’ve been very inconsistent and that’s relative to most of the EPL teams of late. Manchester United however have got some good result with mid tier teams but, it’s not often the case when you see them facing some elite teams except, the fantastic result they had against Liverpool. I think that has been one of their best game in recent time. Still, it’s not a team to take a bet on due to there inconsistency.

Quote
Right now my favorite team to bet on is funny enough Manchester city this team has a great chance to winning the English premier league.
Manchester City… well, Manchester City haven’t been meeting up with expectations lately. Little ups and down in the team as, they can underperform even in what is expected to be their best game. Maybe they would explore the opportunity to gain in on lost points now but, naaahhh, they’ve not been so great as well.
536  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It will save your capital more than you can imagine on: January 11, 2024, 07:42:54 PM
Learn to cut your loss, yes I mean it, the are so many rules and skills in trading which in other to succeed in trading you must utilize to the maximum, and one one them is learn to cut your loss if it's obvious that holding your position will do more harm tham good.
Most traders have fail to understand that in trading it's very important to keep your ego aside and admit when you are wrong, cut your loss early so that you can try again .
If you are using leverage, you can open a position and set take profit and stop loss. But if you use averaging, that may not come your mind. Using stop loss depends on the type of trader that you are.
That’s often the case as in leverage trading, you’re rather conscious of established limits and you often ensure to activate your SL or TP which is not often the case when you’re averaging. You often tend to go all in on your position which in turn, neglects all signs for an out on a trade.

I have seen so many traders watch there their position run into liquidation because they were stubborn or they believe that it can still reverse to their favour, when it obvious that their is no hope.
If a trader is using high leverage, liquidation of trading fund is common to those kinds of traders. Also the type of coins you are trading is very important.
I might understand when you talk about liquidation of trading capital when it’s hot to do with leverage trading but, how does this really relates with the type of coins.
The crypto market is already a highly volatile space and that cuts across most coins especially, coins that have gained some significance in the cryptospace. Wouldn’t that be safe for some form of generalization?
537  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 11, 2024, 07:32:48 PM
Also, psychologically I am done with trading since the lost, I was great at it but one drunk night got me bad lol.
Don't drink and trade folks.
Psychologically you say and that be, the thought in your head which could change anytime but, why let it affect you this much since you practically know what the problem was.

You’ve advised not to be intoxicated while trading,
Your claim is that, you are/were actually a good trader but, one drunk move towards trading was were you got it wrong.
After making the rulings of what was the issue behind your misfortune, why not correct and continue. I get it to be risky but, you could still trade if you want to then let a gained knowledge and skill deteriorate.

Still, you could seek the paths to buy Bitcoin and hodl if you don’t hope to take much risk. Otherwise, trading is where you can build the portfolio you present in OP within a short time frame.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: Growth mindset versus fixed mindset on: January 11, 2024, 04:57:44 PM
They always wanted to be the star of the show, they don't want to be the wrong, they are always right. In short, they are the most annoying people you'll ever find.
The desire to be the star of the show doesn’t always translate to being too egoistic or puts you in a position of not having a growth mindset. In fact, it could actually result in the opposite in the sense that, it could be a reason to want to be right (yeah, you made that point clear) but that zeal could mean, you do your best to avoid mistakes or wrong moves to your activities and that isn’t exactly a bad thing to do or some bad position to put yourself in.
Where it becomes a problem is in the case where, your unable to accept your flaws, there you would have a real problem as, accepting flaws translate to integrity and it’s a rare character possessed by people who are willing to go far in life.
539  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 11, 2024, 11:51:39 AM
3. Become an extremely cheerful giver/lender to friends and family. A wisdom quote I read somewhere said, "if you want to lose your friends and family lend them money".  Keeping doing this and you going to be successfully poor.
Of all the listed means, this is one of the most effective. It gives no relevance to either your working several jobs or have got several streams of income but, ensures you stay poor or continue to live an averaged life/lifestyle.

It’s always a compassion driven means and trying to give a shit yo what is being said about you, have your actions and inactions are been perceived but, it’s in your inability to take hard decisions, decisions that doesn’t really undermine your good but instead, might not be directly favorable to the said family and friends that this means thrives.

One needs to understand that, you don’t always get what you want in life and you will always come before other persons and as such, to stay too, you need to make justifiable hard choices. Don’t be scared to make them so long as, it doesn’t involve you cheating on your mates, take those decisions and call it saving yourself.
Don’t be involved more than you ought to, it kills dreams.

You took a great deal of time yo deliver this price just as it’s felt and came to you and that’s made it better. Something you said though and something I took a particular interest in is, trying to imitate others or idols.

It’s something that lost beginners look to have on the forum, someone go look up to, someone to use for a motivation, to follow their style and hope that, they somehow gain the recognition they need.
How do you become popular over something that lacks originality?
Of course you’re a unique individual with unique ideas and that’s why, the forum values originality.
Everyone is always in the search for new things, new information, new ways of doing a particular thing, a perspective other than there’s and you don’t get to come with some similar act from a famous user, you’ll get neglected.

Have confidence in yourself and be rest assured that there are people, standing on the sidelines and watching to have you grow. Be yourself, come as you are and have yourself transformed to what you want to be. That way, you’ll be so real to everyone and have own style which would add value to you.
