521  Other / Beginners & Help / [EXAMPLE] Why Maker and Taker fee is very important for Traders and Investors on: January 04, 2021, 01:52:02 PM

DISCCLAIMER: This thread is for guidance and learning from mistakes, it's no way intended to promote or tarnish other exchange service and their products.
For privacy, I hid the fiat currency to protect my identity since it's a centralised platform ( Exchange )

It's said that if you don't learn from others, you will learn from your self. Information and Knowledge is a powerful tool if one utilise it in the right direction and wish I can travel back to past just like Flash Movie or turn back the hands of time so I can amend/erase the mistakes I had done in the past.

Been in crypto space comes with a price which comprises trend, zero ignorance and guidance. Once a mistake is done, it cannot be undone. same goes with a transaction in a blockchain that can't be reversed once you press SEND to a wrong wallet address and also buying and selling of coin/tokens.
There are some heated arguments if one needed deep knowledge about cryptocurrency before venturing into trading or investing into a project as a holder but the truth is, to excel in this industry, one requires some basic understanding of trading and guide to exchange your coins for liquid especially when you hold long term. Holding a bitcoin worth $30k just to pay an enormous fee for fiat platform is a pure scam which must be highly discouraged, the tax they pay to the government isn't up to what they collect from users.

It was a new year and I decided to go through my transaction history to see how I have exchanged some of my holdings for fiat and it was so embarrassing to see that I have to pay an exorbitant fee in a centralised exchange just to get my money into local banks. it's so frightening that most of these exchanges are clamouring for decentralised system and making transactions with a low fee but they are is absolutely nothing different from Banks.
My ignorance for the maker and taker fee has cost me much and I want others to learn from my mistakes. I will be sharing some images I took from my wallet and how I paid a large fee for just to get a fiat.

Two transaction i made in 2019, there are many more and it sadden me anytime i look into the transaction history. i blur the fiat amount i bought and sold these coins in other to hide my identity.
From the screenshot below, one can easily see the amount paid to this exchange to get fiat Shocked Shocked Shocked

Another screenshot of two transaction i made in 2020,there are other more. Poor me Cry Cry

Avoid luno exchange at all cost, you wouldn't know the importance of these maker and taker features until you are involve with a large amount. I lost almost 1.32 ETH to LUNO exchange for buying and selling in 2019 alone, that's insane and and stealing.
It took me a while before I was able to transfer my fund to Binance exchange since they support my country and fiat withdrawal. It's not the best because they are centralised exchange and not your keys, not your fund they provide easy service when it comes to depositing and withdrawal into your local banks with just a token fee. Don't give your ROI to these platforms just to get your funds in an out of exchanges. Don't be like me because my early days were so rough and i regret it.

522  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your plans in the year 2021 on: January 01, 2021, 09:39:36 AM
I was going through the comments and it seems everyone is centered within the forum and and earn through the internet. No one is talking offline activities.
My major objectives is to enlight my friends an opportunity to look into digital asset such as bitcoin, attend seminars ( I hope corona virus leave us as soon as possible, I miss going out to blockchain interactive classes ), more diggings and learn more about crypto I had missed some years ago.
To be honest, I want to rank up and recognize in bitcointalk. How do I plan to achieve that? I will help in all my possible best. This forum is one of the best place that kept me out of depression last year, that's why I must give back all I can.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHICH COIN IS THE NEXT ETHEREUM ? on: December 30, 2020, 10:28:15 PM
In my opinion Ethereum cannot be replaced by other altcoins in the near future, but if it's just a prediction, I think BNB deserves to occupy and replace Ethereum in the market, because BNB is almost the same as what ETH has. especially platforms and Smart Contracts. This is not a guarantee, this is just a prediction.

Don't say because something is huge, then it can't be replace. Xrp was a top leading coin in market cap but due to some unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances, it's now at the verge of collapse and been replace by litecoin, cardano shillers and whale are also doing everything to take over the market, so never say never as anything is possible.
Bnb has lots of use case but when compare to Ethereum, Ethereum network has more edge over Bnb as almost 90% of altcoins are hosted on Ethereum network, now do the maths and compare it with binance though not as if they are really bad.
There are other gem coins on market but I'm yet to see any coin that will replace Ethereum in term of frame work, I hope they succeed in their scalable eth2.0
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 9 practical tips for investing in Defy! on: December 30, 2020, 09:52:36 PM
Dropping of price sharply is never new thing to us in this space, it happens most of the time when team or investor remove their Liquidity leaving others without liquidity.
Most of the time, these DeFi are not well audited as they claimed. It has made many loose their money especially ones that are always been greedy. The recent attack on Cover protocol comes to my mind, it dump almost 99% with an excess coin in supply.
There are other that has happened in the past such as kimchi, yam, sushi was deliberately dumped by the team but it later survived due to some influence and interest on the platform.
Always proceed with caution on this DeFi, cool money can be made here and at the same time can be lost, if not all Cry Kiss Kiss
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance.US is going to suspend XRP trading and deposit on: December 30, 2020, 08:41:16 PM
The rate at which exchangea are halting services for Xrp, a point would come when most projects will start ignoring US investors, it's becoming annoying how their SEC pose nose on every crypto activity especially Bitcoin and Xrp.
It is good that binance is keeping their reputation by delisting and following coin base step. Xrp is becoming shit coin without magnitude and direction.
526  Economy / Economics / Re: How will financial crisis affect crypto? on: December 29, 2020, 09:22:44 PM
This original topic was posted in March 2019. Was there even a financial crisis back then? I can’t think of what “financial crisis” OP was even referring to. The world we live in today is so vastly different than whatever prompted this post nearly 2 years ago.

Whatever world we live in, one must be financially woke in order to know the necessary step whenever it's needed. We once had a financial crisis when forex and shares dump hardly, sadly bitcoin has never been in existence, it will really save lots of people then but today we have bitcoin and other Alts that are doing well in this aspect.
The way covid-19 made many lost heavily, it will be difficult to convince some Noobs in to this industry. This is the reason we need to be safe educated about the whole thing. Financial crisis is not good any business either digi3or physical.

527  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 09:09:11 PM
The more this coin is hold by institutional investors, the higher likely the price will increase because only few will be left on exchanges, I saw crypto alert bot showing large amount of Bitcoin that were leaving exchange to personal wallet even at high price of $25k. This shows that institutional investors are buying this digital assets even at higher price because they are looking towards future expectations.
However, it will really be a disaster if these wallets that are holding this huge amount of Bitcoin decide to dump on exchange.

528  Economy / Economics / Re: NFL Player Salary Paid in Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 09:01:07 PM
If this is true, then the traction of adoption of Bitcoin is moving in a linear path. If others start the way he allocated some of his salary in bitcoin, we will see more surge in the coming years. I would like to imagine how Bitcoin and crypto entire market will react if top football start like Messi and Ronaldo take this path, it will be crazy pump of days and week before the the pump will cool down.
Who knows if they are secretly doing it already, imagine top players in every football club own at least a bitcoin, the demand will be super active with less supply just the way PayPal is buying almost all the bitcoin that are mine everyday.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop wishing Ethereum dead or overthrown on: December 27, 2020, 08:34:48 PM
XRP got some hate, BCH got some hate also and now I'm shock that even the second best crypto have some haters too  Grin, well all these top coins are my favourite, one mans food is another man's poison, that's all I have to say, every projects will have haters no matter how great they are

Xrp has nothing like hate, it's just a project who lack bearing. It's doesn't have magnitude nor direction. It's either today its having internal issues, team drama or regulation problems.
BCH on the other hand is another failure that has been trying to get itself on the right track but seems backdown by hands of developers, we have forks already that hasn't add meaning contribution to price.
Ethereum is just project trying to survive and accommodate other small scale projects that can't stand alone, I don't think this atmosphere will be friendly if not for their framework and smart contract ERC-20 tokens. Eth will become scalable when the right time comes and i hope I have enough money to buy huge bag then.

530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you farmed before? on: December 27, 2020, 08:27:56 PM
Hi all, i was searching for a farming platform.. and i have already searched several platforms with my team members.. and there is a one platform is going to start from 27th december and it looks better than other platforms (according to our analysis). But we need to confirm it from you all,  because we are not much experts in this  field , so we need your opinions ..🙂🙂🙂
I have put some data about that project , kindly guide us before investing on this platform 🤟🤟🤟

Website -  https://gains.farm/

FARM 2.0
⏳ Launching on December 27th!
A brand new use case for yield farming.

(Decentralized Leverage Trading on ETH/USD)

Take caution when dealing with this platform and due diligence with thesw farming project, their high return is sweet but the damage some of these projects has caused for some investors and traders will love you awe, they aren't also regulated, i believe you know what you are doing.
On suggestions and not to be taking as financial advice, why don't you consider binance platform I know they are centralized exchanges but they are secure in the sense that they don't list useless projects. With BNB, you can mine other tokens.

531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TWT chance to pump 0.5$ on: December 27, 2020, 08:20:59 PM
Why are you asking if the price will reach such a value, if you are really buying and holding for long term, just bag up and hold for long term and you will have nothing to worry about. Though, the token was recently airdrop to binance users who traded between 14-12-2020 to the last day it was airdrop ( I stand to be corrected ).
What worry me about the token is that, it's not listed on Binance yet despite been own binance trust wallet and they also direct every individual holding twt on binance to withdraw them otherwise they will be automatically lost.  Cry Cry Kiss
532  Economy / Economics / Re: IF USDT would collapse what do you think will happen to the BTC price? on: December 26, 2020, 11:21:17 PM
If USDT collapsed it will bring new opportunities to those that want to buy bitcoin at a cheaper rate and that will make bitcoin recovers, whatever comes bitcoin will recover because of adopters, many will be waiting for some opportunity to buy  Wink Wink

I want to be guided in cryptocurrency since my last mistake, I really hope I don't make silly mistakes like in the past and I don't wish other to do the same but if Usdt should collapse today, it will bring lots of people and not just that alone including organizations and companies that are holding Usdt because most of this minted Usdt aren't all use in the market.
My fear is when this kind of incident happen, it will affect crypto in general, all the coins and token on the market will have blood on their time line before another quick recovery like this covid-19 we all experience this year.
533  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Company are holding more than 10000 Bitcoin on: December 26, 2020, 11:05:10 PM
Grayscale has been one if the prime mover of Bitcoin and it current rally, no wonder altcoins has been bleeding and now it's obvious they don't really care about altcoins or perhaps its not their time yet.
On a second note, I know these are coins that meant to be hold for long time but how will they sell this tons bitcoin in exchange. I have observed that whenever traders and investors see 2009 and 2010 bitcoin on the move to an exchange, they begin to panic, now I wonder what will happen to Bitcoin price when they decide to move this bitcoin to an exchange.
It will definitely happen one day Cry Kiss
534  Economy / Economics / Re: This is why bitcoin HAS to go up on: December 26, 2020, 10:59:42 PM
We have seen bitcoin outbreak and trading a new all time, yet we keep tarnishing traditional assets because of their underlying failure and incompetent with the economical situations that's coupled with inflation, this has driven some set of people to create something valuable as digital instruments or digital assets as some people may have called it but have we ask the question about crypto volatility, will majority of investors stay glue to Bitcoin if it's having a yearly return of %10?
Most of not all in bitcoin don't really care about adoption we have today but their money and how it's can be double, triple within short period of time and cash out to fiat to continue enjoy their life in the outside world.  Cry Cry
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't repeat same mistakes on: December 25, 2020, 01:54:41 PM
I beginning to have a rethink about the whole move3of this market, its purely base on fundamental and adoption by institutional investors, take it or live it but I don't see bitcoin dumping like that period of ICOs when things were so bad with huge magnitude of project and no direction.
I was watching how PayPal CEO was been interviewed by Famous media channels such as CNN and ICNBC, I was wowed and I concluded why this market will keep pushing until a certain point where correction will set in which definitely wil be a healthier one.
This re my opinion and I believe bitcoin will grow more in value before it drops down though altcoins lagging behind  Cry
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non successful projects find it hard to pay on: December 25, 2020, 01:49:28 PM
Are new projects supposed to be well successful today to pay bounty hunters their promised payment? If they raise huge amount of money paying bounty hunters won't be a big problem, am I right ?

Why should that be a problem for project to pay her Bounty participants after a successful sales of their token or coin, a promise is a promise and once the condition is fulfilled, I don't think their should be a reason to hold back project teams to reward those who bring their projects to limelight.
Do you know how much it will cost marketing agency to promote a project on their platform? They don't even receive their pay in tokens or crypto but you pay them in fiat which must start up cannot pay them.
We are their only chance to get project advice promoted and advertise.  Kiss Kiss Kiss

537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In which token i invest? on: December 25, 2020, 01:42:25 PM
Hello friends i have around 200$ in Ethereum. I want to invest for getting some profit. Tell me about your experience. What tokens or coins are best for invest this time.

Shit poster and also evade ban. Grin Grin I don't know if I should take your question seriously and add my suggestion to already answers.
You are asking for a financial advice which may be right or wrong, when the wrong happens, you have to deal it yourself and no one will be able to help you any longer.
If you need my recommendation, go and invest in bnb binance utility coin, it's an exchange coin that has lots of potential and next thing in years to come. You get to mine other DeFi tokens on binance platform when you stake your bnb coin on their platform, this way you get airdrop and other benefits from the exchange simultaneously.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: How will financial crisis affect crypto? on: December 24, 2020, 10:33:19 PM
It will, check the financial crisis that happened on2008, it took time before traditional market was able to recover. Same scenario has once had a problem with Bitcoin. Early this year, Bitcoin was making news and thanks to its halving and then suddenly covid-19 hit the entire bitcoin market, it made a nice comeback which has been stronger than any assets I have seen.
If you want to know the power the power of financial crisis, let the second wave lock down be implemented, you will see how it will affect bitcoin price and other altcoins.
539  Economy / Economics / Re: David Rosenber: Bitcoin is in a 'massive bubble' on: December 24, 2020, 09:33:31 PM
He is absolutely right, Bitcoin is bubble and those who are already in will not believe this, they will tag you as anti Bitcoin and at the same time, those complaining currently will be happy if they are the one who bought bitcoin at bottom with this sweet profit.
We will always complain about something especially when it's not in our favour, that's why I try possible best with ant influencers with negative energy with Bitcoin. Somebody should try to setup a wallet for that man any time bitcoin goes below $10k, he would keep quiet for eternity ones he is in profit.  Grin Grin Grin

540  Economy / Economics / Re: Need not just stimulus but usdt stimulus on: December 23, 2020, 07:28:02 PM
To help crypto we need usdt stimulus.

Exchangers should do air drops of usdt to active traders. Yes the government do stimulus and cheap loans but yet this funds are not going in crypto economy so fed should directly start working with USDT and Every time fed printing money there will be USDT airdrops also for crypto traders and active traders rewards Smiley

What do government need USDT for? They were even against the idea of USDT as digital currency, I don't think they need solicitor like Usdt before they distribute stimulus to every citizen.
If that happens, I wonder how Bitcoin will react to such a large amount of minted USDT, it has always been market tradition that bitcoin tend to gain value when Usdt is minted on blockchain because traders believe that will bring inflow of money.
