521  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price $45k by ending of 2023: AI prediction on: January 02, 2024, 08:57:06 AM
Well now we can see the 6 AI Chatbots are correct. Price of Bitcoin is now more then 45k. It is above 45k for first time since April 2022 just ahead of possible ETF approval that might happen any time now.

https://www.livemint.com/market/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-price-surges-above-45-000-for-first-time-since-april-2022-on-etf-approval-hopes-11704165281422.html

If we are going verbatim, it's wrong. "Starting of 2023" would make it correct. (Right?)
But, the results and timing are close enough to establish some good credibility.

Why would starting of 2023 make it correct. The title of OP said "...by ending of 2023". The timing is highly accurate on the premise of speculation. I have never seen it being so close before. Besides, there has been prediction that bitcoin will not exceed 45k in 2023. It was a popular opinion before AI took up the information. This does not now validate that we should follow the AI verbatim from henceforth.

45k seems reasonable, but I would question how those AIs came to the decision.

A large language model does not simply do maths, does not take past price data into consideration, just makes up a random number from a huge amount of outdated text.

And most of the current generally available AIs are as good as few year old random spam articles scattered around the internet. Because they have exactly been trained on that data.
This is not a decision, but only a prediction based on data that already exists on the internet so that AI can process it more quickly in order to predict the price of Bitcoin which will occur at the end of this year. However, already in the middle of this year the price of Bitcoin still has not reached the predicted price level but is only approaching it and if this price level can reach it in the next two weeks, I think this level will be passed and will not stop at $45K.
We are now at the last days of the year and bitcoin price even dropped a little, but it never realized the AI prediction of $45k but it was really closed to that.  However, if this prediction may fail by the end of this year, then it's very much possible by early january next year. AIs predictions were only based on the onhand datas in the internet so its not really a complete prediction without good basis. Sometimes, AI hits also the exact price prediction but most of the time it didn't or it might only close to the reality.

DYOR is the key. If we can't rely AI to the highest level, then probably our own market analysis will do the math well.
While were processing how AI prediction, it proved us wrong. It has happened as predicted. Although you have said that if the 45k prediction fails at the end of 2023, that will happen in the first week of 2024. We can actually argue that AI uses different time zone, maybe AI is still in 2023 Grin
I agree with you that AI makes decisions from random data (some outdated), but the fun of it is that we are happy seeing AI prediction happen.
522  Other / Meta / Re: Happy New Year 2024 to bitcointalk members on: January 01, 2024, 10:46:30 PM
Happy new year all the members of Bitcointalk.org, I wish you a year of multiple bitcoin.

What has happened, I remember when I was new in the forum, all the merry Christmas and happy new year threads used to have a few merit sources dropping atleast 1 merit in every post on the thread. What has happened this year?
523  Other / Meta / Re: Decentralize Bitcointalk on: January 01, 2024, 10:38:21 PM

Quote
We don't know the future they could ban bitcoin and also ban bitcointalk.org and other websites that supports bitcoin.
If Bitcoin is banned, dead, do we need Bitcointalk?

This is a very apt question.
Very thoughtful indeed.
Let's assume that bitcoin is banned and declared dead all over the world. What do you think will happen to bitcointalk? Maybe, theymos will lose interest and hand over the admin to another person and that person might likely rename the domain and allow the forum to continue existing because of the people therein.
It could also be that, if bitcoin is banned, that will be the end of this forum.

Meanwhile, bitcoin cannot be banned but bitcointalk can. That is why theymos is being careful. Talking about decentralization of the forum. If this eventually happens, how will the moderation of the forum look like. Just thinking
524  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: January 01, 2024, 10:20:38 PM
I locked all of the mixer ANN threads I saw, and I put in a number of wordfilters. If I missed any threads, please use "report to moderator".

I think it's time to start serious discussions on how to decentralize the forum, move away from Cloudflare/US servers, or at least reduce the impact of regulatory decisions on the forum.

Theymos himself is seriously anticipating this, he did say it.
525  Economy / Reputation / Re: What's the ratio of possibilities for me on: January 01, 2024, 09:48:44 PM
It is fine that people should inspire us, but we might get it wrong if we want to follow them sheepishly in order to be like them. In the case of o_e_l_e_o, what he is leveraging on is consistency and passion. When I was a newbie, I frequented the technical board to know the basics of bitcoin. As at then, o_e_l_e_o and LoyceV and few others like DANNYHAMILTON had all the answers to my questions. In less than 6 months, I will be 3 years in the forum, yet these persons are still helping people learn bitcoin and proffering solutions to their problems. I am also convinced that they have done this years before my arrival in this forum. This is passion and consistency.

Op, you might not be like o_e_l_e_o but you can discover something unique that you can excel in and also help the community in your own way. Everyone is unique and resourceful, the only problem is many have not discover their core strength and essence.
526  Economy / Reputation / Re: Which Member Has Inspired You Most in BitcoinTalk? on: January 01, 2024, 09:08:15 PM
Who has impressed you the most in the forum? I mean someone you'll alway read all their posts whenever you see them. For me, he is a real champ ...
I can't single out just one. Many members contribute in their own way in various directions and discussions. I see the forum not as a place where you can read the posts of one or a few prominent users, but as a BTC-community in which everyone contributes as best they can and makes this community stronger. It often happens that even beginners and low-ranking users voice very interesting and useful thoughts. This is where all the power of the forum lies - in the users, which makes the forum decentralized in a sense.

I hope it will not surprise you to know that you are a user I don't skip his post whenever I meet it. Not that you are a bitcoin savvy or an overly intelligent human. But, your approach to every post and response to questions is different, full of audacity and sometimes may sound rebellious to the weak minds. It happened often in the Best_change campaign thread. Then, Bestchange on his side is an intelligent human being who understands the importance of constructive criticism and how to use same to propel his business. Congratulations my BTT Hero, your Christmas gift was superb.

@Op, what happens is that at different times, we have different inspirers. I mean someone you inspired you this year might not be next year. As we progress in the forum we meet different personalities. Some who inspired me as a newbie no longer inspire me now while I have discovered new personalities. Such is life.
I have voted in the end of year voting thread.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 31, 2023, 09:16:12 PM
EYES ON ARSENAL FC

Since last season, I have seen Arsenal like a club that has improved tremendously. I could remember when Arteta was struggling with Ole of Manchester United. Unfortunately for Ole, he could not make it in Manchester United but Arteta was able to win the mind of Arsenal management. He improve the Arsenal team and contest for English premier League title which eventually was stolen from them by Guardiola and his boys. I didn't blame Arsenal much because they didn't have good squad depth. But what is actually happening again this season.

Arsenal from number 1 to number 4 now  We'll, they might climb again but I am just happy that Klopp and his Red boys are ahead. They don't give up easily. If Liverpool eventually gaps others with 6 points, it's over. I don't want Manchester City to win again, that's just why I am concerned.
528  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 31, 2023, 08:50:23 PM
It's still 2023 in my country, who has already witnessed 2024 in their country. I believe you shouldn't be seeing any mixer post from your end now. Grin
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees have disappointed me today on: December 30, 2023, 11:42:49 PM
Sincerely, if bitcoin has to compete with other payment methods, bitcoin will fit very well, but with this condition of the mempool, bitcoin payment is obviously the most annoying presently. We have known that this is temporal as it is one of the activities of bitcoin. But this time around, it has persisted more than expected. As I saw this topic, I remembered what a friend wrote to me that bitcoin has mared his Christmas as he has alot of bitcoin in the mempool while he is not enjoying his Christmas as he wished.

I am optimistic that from next year things have to change because if this continues till the upcoming bull run, obviously bitcoin network will be a complete mess. I beg the miners to shuttle their sword and stop spamming the network for a temporal gain.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will do to bank what Email did to post office on: December 30, 2023, 11:13:21 PM
So Boiling it down to Bitcoin and banks, actually the existence of Bitcoin has greatly improved the mindset of people especially on investment diversification such as profits making because is obvious that any money we put or save on the bank will not yield any profit so instead of people saving much money on the bank when there is a great opportunity offered by Bitcoin to channel all our money with the possibility of making or multiplying our capital in the future. So perhaps do you guys think the reason why most countries are having some restrictions on Bitcoin is because of the effects it has on the bank that people prefer to invest there funds on Bitcoin instead of banks?.
I do not always understand it when people compares bitcoin to bank. There is no direct comparison between bitcoin and bank rather the comparison is between bank and exchanges. Then, bitcoin and fiat. Talking about bitcoin and fiat, there is never a time that bitcoin will overthrow fiat, is because every country has their own fiat which is their national identity. So, bitcoin can never at a time overtake all the fiats of different countries. Besides, the mindset or the goal of Satoshi Nakamato was not that bitcoin should overthrow or fight with fiat, but rather for bitcoin to provide an alternative means of payment. So, it is likely that both bitcoin and fiat will co-exist only if the government will allow.

There is no doubt that the world is advancing technological, and I am very much optimistic that the best use of bitcoin is yet to be uncovered or discovered. Bitcoin is still an unharnessed young invention.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying and Losing My First Bitcoin on: December 30, 2023, 10:53:26 PM
Bitcoin is still completely illegal in my country. I was first introduced to Bitcoin through a friend of mine. I first bought Bitcoin in early 2017. I bought only 25 dollars worth of bitcoins then. The feeling of making the first investment in life was different. Although I wasted that Bitcoin by investing in a third party hype site. I had a hard time losing my first bitcoin.

How did it feel when you first invested in Bitcoin?

Surprisingly this is the most method that people used to lose their Bitcoin in the early days of Bitcoin investment. I have heard many stories of people who bought reasonable amount of Bitcoin when bitcoin was first created and they all lost to those coins because they registered in third party application in the name of trading and to multiply their Bitcoin. Little did they know that what they needed was not to multiply their Bitcoin, no that they had more than enough bitcoin to sustain them in the whole life. We are just looking at the fiat equivalent of that bitcoin as of them and they wanted to multiply it. That was required of them was to hold till the coin appreciated. Many people who bought then and who did not also lose them to third party applications could not recover their bitcoin because they did not know the value of what they bought and hence they did not save it well.

The majority of the lost bitcoin was from the early days of bitcoin. But till today, I still see people patronising and their party apps to multiply their coins. What a folly!
532  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 29, 2023, 09:36:08 PM
Hi guys!
Just wanted to know how many cryptocurrencies you're invested in? And with what percentage of your portfolio (No need to mention the amounts involved, if you don't want to). Just want to get a general sense of how everyone's diversifying their crypto assets.
I have this phobia for altcoins and I don't know how it happened. I suddenly became afraid to invest in altcoins. Although from my early days in this forum, I have learnt that bitcoin is the best and I think that that was what influenced me alot to be 100% bitcoiner.
Although, before I knew the forum I have lost money in both bitcoin and altcoins, but this forum shaped me to believe that the real investment is bitcoin while others are gambling.

Right now I want to diversify my portfolio but honestly I don't know how to go about it and which altcoins to choose. I will be glad if I can get a sincere help as the bull run is building up.
533  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone can succeed as a bitcoin trader on: December 29, 2023, 09:13:42 PM
...Knowing how to trade would only get you that far, but not j to the realm of successful traders. It takes a whole lot of desire to win, persistence and consistency to be a successful trader. So I assure that anyone who wants to be a successful trader can be by pursuing with passion...

This is all just theory, but in practice everything is completely different. And there are a very large number of traders who, after many years of unprofitable trading, decide to change their role to an investor. And for many, this is the right decision that allows you to earn a lot of money with minimal risk, which is still present when investing.
From onset, there are different types of stories sold to newbies and these stories help to make or mare newbies. But the most important is not even the choices that newbies make, but the ability of newbies to have a change of mind. I will explain what I meant;
At a point every newcomer must have heard and  believed that it is possible to turn $500 coin to $3000 coin by trading. This type of information is always sweet to hear but in practice things doesn't go they way they are being told. At this point, a smart newbie ought to have a retrace and rethink I'm order to further in the right direction. It is during this period of self appraisal that I withdrew from trading, after realising that trading is not for me. I believe my testimony is same as that of other thousand new beginners.

However, there are newbies who went through the rough sea of trading, succeeded and are making huge money from trading today. The best thing is to find out what works for you, but in a nutshell, what seems to work for every beginner is to buy low and hold till price appreciates to sell.
534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies are not Scums.... Learning is a Process and it's progressive. on: December 29, 2023, 08:47:19 PM
One of the most difficult things to endure in the forum is to accept your fate and status as a newbie and behave like one. This is the reason we often see newbies teaching established members how to be useful in the forum.
The second most difficult thing is to earn merit as a newbie. At anytime, one newbie may be facing one of the above. Maybe OP, is battling with one or both at same time. Please slow and take it easy. This is just an online forum and not a testimonial group.

However, I am a Professional Project Management Expert with Master's Degree in Project Management from BCU, United Kingdom.
I Graduated as the best in my class with a Distinction.

Yeah. I'm afraid to imagine how you wrote. Using AI texts in the same way?
OP, you are too demanding. Reduce your vanity and pride, and accept criticism calmly. No one here is obliged to love you only for your “written” merits. Anyone on the Internet can pretend to be anyone; if you want to be Napoleon, be it, but understand that no one owes you anything.
And since you came to the forum, respect the rules. The use of AI is not encouraged on the forum.

If I would advise OP, he should just take this advice as it came. She is known for giving undiluted advice to newbies. One of the advice that shaped me during my newbie days

Hello bitcointalk mermbers.
I am asking for your participation, to help the new membres to get more knowlege, and get up-dates about the crypto world
u can help by sharing telegrame groups, youtube chanel, facebook pages and groups, reddit groups, books.................... extra.

thank you

There is one thing about newcomers in this forum and that is as the forum ages so we have set of lazy newcomers. To the best of my knowledge, the easiest thing that this generation youth know how to do is social media. Newcomers even find it difficult to cope with this forum due to the old software that is used in this fprum. I am surprised that someone is suggesting that social media channels should be shared in this forum, while the reverse is supposed to be the case. Nobody is ready to spoon feed anyone with information. If you want information search for it. The forum is already trying by providing solutions to people's problems and engaging in high information conversations about bitcoin.

The internet is a free place for anyone to explore. Op, do not limit your abilities to the shackles of this noble forum. Expand and explore.
536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Thanks To All forum members on: December 29, 2023, 08:18:01 PM
I'm really greatful for finding a forum like this that has connected me to  different smart persons around the world and has helped me grow.
I can surely testify that since my few months here I've learnt a lot and I'm still growing. Big thanks to all our senior forum members here. That has taught me to do my own research before taking any financial decisions.
And this has helped me not only in crypto investment but also helped me survive in the online world where several Scammers are looking for every opportunity to take advantage of your ignorance.

And what I'm most thankful for is the feeling of getting my first merit, it really filled me with joy. Now I'm more confident to do my own research and share new information here. Big thanks to everyone.
There is one important thing about the forum, which is;
Some newcomers always complain that the following members are harsh on them especially the established members. They complain  that these established members find the slightest way to tag them and destroy their account and they also complain that they are often treated as scums or scammers while they are not scammers. Amidst the rampant complaints by newbies, we also see some newcomers who are grateful and also have good testimonies about the forum being friendly.

All these boils down to individual differences and approach to solving problems. We are from different spheres of life, we shouldn't expect the best from random forum users, incase we see, we should be grateful like Op. Congratulations OP and ensure you give your best to the forum and the forum will not fail to reward you.
537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fear of December dump is fading away - for Bitcoin on: December 26, 2023, 01:12:52 PM
At the end of the December the price still above 40k that approximately the same stability in the previous month though the December is not end yet. My opinion is the next bull ran is starting before the new year comes. But all predictions will right when end the rest of the days in this year.Today's price $42673.00 which 1.1% less the previous 24 hours according to coingecko portfolio.

I have to agree with OP that December dump is fading away, although there is a dump but it is not more than 2% and it is gradually closing up. When I know that the December dump syndrome is fading away is on the Christmas day. Even if the price doesn't drop significantly in December, on the Christmas day, there is always a dump. This time around is much different than before. Although 2022 was just 2.2% dump while 2021 was 11% dump.

I can say that the major factor that is holding the bitcoin price strong up there is the anticipated bull run. I will be correct to say that people are busy entering the market for bull run. So, the chances of strong dump is not there this time around.
538  Economy / Reputation / Re: My 10 Year ( and some days) Bitcointalk Anniversary on: December 26, 2023, 11:42:24 AM
Even though I am not a person who loves being the center of attention or showing off, I think this is an achievement that should be honored, that I'm proud off ( I never gave up my faith in crypto) and above all a tribute of gratitude to this place to which I owe practically all my, albeit limited, knowledge of crypto environment.

You do not need to say this, you obviously do not like being the center of attention. I mean, you are a cool guy and determined and not a lover of troubles. I can say that from my newbie days to my legendary rank, I haven't seen your username anywhere. This could only mean that you don't like being centre of attention. Although, BTT is a very large community, I must not necessarily know everyone but there are reoccurring names I know.

Congratulations to you and I love your passion in cryptocurrency. Hope you got some holdings and do enjoy your time here always.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A kid makes millions by investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 26, 2023, 11:22:15 AM
This is one of the reasons I don't always believe what I read online, even with those ones with video proofs because their stories are not always consist. Regardless, it is inspiring for those who are still lagging behind.
I almost believed but the story is quite common. Also the platform isnt that credible for blogs and social news. Maybe if its a coindesk or forbes featured post article I might believe a little. Its true that kids now are lucky since they can earn a lot on this market with the tech skills and tools that can be used today. Their lucky to get exposed at their early age.

The internet is a very weird place full of folly and smartness. The media is so powerful in phrasings. They are able manipulate any story to soothe their marketing strategies and be able to sell whatever product or idea they are eager to sell. The right thing to do is not to believe everything or anything over the net. Just ensure you do your own research before you'll believe.

Its true that kids now are lucky since they can earn a lot on this market with the tech skills and tools that can be used today. Their lucky to get exposed at their early age.
I am not also surprised because this is the easiest time in human history to become rich. Every information is available waiting to be harnessed.

Please use this code for you to lessen the texts/characters from the links that you are providing.
Code:
[url=insert website(source)here]plain text or summary[/url]

This will give you a more attracting thread to be read by most. Because if someone sees that tons of characters about your source and it doesn't look good, I'd be away and will stop reading the entire thing even if it's an interesting story.
A good advice to OP, not many people clicks link and a random link appears as a bait to many including myself. If you are in the habit of posting naked links, you might end in people's ignore list.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How was your crypto journey this year? on: December 26, 2023, 11:08:11 AM
The year 2023 is of course much better than the the previous year. This year would definitely end with a higher value for my crypto portfolio. The year 2023 opened with the price of Bitcoin just around $16,000. Today, the price is $43,000. That alone is enough for me to automatically generalize that this year is a good year, better than 2022. 2022 is actually the opposite because it started with Bitcoin's price at around $47,000 but ended up at around $16,000.
This year is just a good year for bitcoin and myself because all my investments is in bitcoin. It is not that I bought on a go, I have been on DCA throughout this year. I don't know the percentage profit I have, but I am sure I am in the profit learn. I am sure because I started DCA even when BTC was in the 16k region. Definitely I am bullish.

Looking forward to the year 2024. I'm very hopeful that next year would even be better. $100,000 for Bitcoin is a realistic target.
No target is realistic mate. During the last bull run, same 100k was said to be realistic also but it failed. Don't be surprised that it can also fail next year or even 2025. One reason I think might make it fail is the sell pressure that will be felt at 70k (immediately bitcoin makes a new ATH). That particular sell pressure might dash 100k hope.
