...how do you throw 6 points down the drain in a space of few days and expect to win the league, when the likes of Liverpool and Man City will probably just starting having their best run of form.
Well City had a bad run of form few weeks ago. They dropped lots of points within a couple of games, Arsenal have been bad, but not worth all the criticism.

Better to drop points now than during the season run-in.

Great compilation. I would have thought I was very active throughout the year but seems like I missed some big events this year.

This forum really shows how a group of people with a common goal can build a very functional community which can function almost independently. Cheers to everyone who contributed to the forum this year.

Second loss in a row for Arsenal.

We really need the January break, with less matches to just reboot and find that cutting edge. Arsenal have not been playing good: creating little chances with Odegard and Saka really out of form..
I am confident we can find out feet again and I hope when we do the rest of the park are not too far away.

More gutted that Tottenham won comfortably.

524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your facts: Fundamental differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 31, 2023, 01:28:24 PM
I do agree that utility of the coin is also very important but that is also directly related to returns. If a coin is really that useful, the returns will be good over a period of time. For useless coins, they may spike temporarily but over  a longer period of time, the value will come to almost zero.
Not necessarily. We have meme coins with no utility that has been traded for several years. The crypto market besides bitcoin has a $900 billion dollar market cap while over 90% of the altcoins do not have utility.

As long as there is a market and traders who want profit, a coin with no utility can flourish.

After the amazing comeback against Aston Villa I thought that Manchester United would win today. However they lost against Nottingham Forest and I don't think they played well at all tonight.
Manchester United and ETH has had lots of chances to build momentum and have a pattern of playing. It is ridiculous to still be talking about building on performances every other week with so much inconsistencies around the results they get, while their performance have been consistently underwhelming.

Injuries is an excuse, not getting the players you want is another, but it does not justify their performance at all.

Entering the final lap of the season. I am guessing that by then end of January the title race would have matured more and we will be able to identify which two or three teams will be fighting it out to the final day.

City got a glimpse of De Bruyne warming up today and buy will they be happy to have him back moving to the business end of the league where the FA cup and champions league knockout stage begins. Also a big boost for them that they are losing zero players t the African Cup of Nations and Asian cup, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United would all be hit.

527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Buying More Tickets To Increase Your chances on: December 30, 2023, 06:20:59 PM
Just the same way we have a security threshold and any extra character you add to a password does not necessarily reduce the chances of it getting hacked, we also have that threshold with game of lucks like lottery.
The chance of winning is hypothetically 1 in a million, that is 0.0001%, if you buy 100 tickets you chance of winning then is 0.01%, both of them are in the range of impossibility still.

To have a decent chance of winning by getting more tickets you will need more than 10% of ticket supply consistently over several games, not very sustainable.

528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: December 30, 2023, 05:53:51 PM
Offline or online, an addict will find a way to get burnt out.

Some people play for hours unending in casinos, staking ridiculous amounts they cannot afford to lose and some gamble very conservatively online. It is all down to self control and capital protection.

I don't want say Arsenal have probably started the usual bottling of the league result, so I'm going to give them benefit of the doubt and see if they'd get atleast 7 points from their next 3 fixtures,
They have not had a firm grip at the top of the table as yet, so it cannot really be called bottling. If it were, then Liverpool and Tottenham alike would have also bottled it. Lots of matches still to go and lots of changes still to happen at the top of the pile.

It is ironic that Arsenal are called bottlers for last season, but Liverpool have gone neck and neck with City for 5 seasons before that, only winning once, and yet no one calls them bottlers. They were top for many of those years for some parts of the season too.

Do you have an example of the essays you speak of? It will help to know if they were just stretched out beyond the required characters to pass the message or were actual helpful posts.

Most campaigns have a character requirement, but they are mostly within the range of 100-150, not essay worthy numbers at all.

531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your facts: Fundamental differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 29, 2023, 07:21:48 AM
The benefits of BTC over Ethereum are reflected in returns these coins offer.
Returns are not reliable figures to determine which coin is better than the other. In the case of bitcoin where it has happened over several years and at a reliable rate, one can maybe use it as a yardstick, but do not use it for smaller coins which can boost by 300% or more within a few hours.

Utility is the real benefit of any asset and the security of that asset

Arsenal are two goals down now.

Will take some miracle to turn this around and go top of the table at the mid way point.

533  Economy / Gambling / Re: ETHPLAY - HIGHEST RTP SLOTS CASINO | NO KYC | INSTANT PAYOUTS on: December 28, 2023, 09:23:19 PM
And don't get hung up on the name ETHPLAY! Sure, we're big on Ethereum, but we're also open to other major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Litecoin, and USDT. So, how about making a swift deposit, testing your luck with the most favorable odds, and enjoying a speedy withdrawal?
Just for clarity; "Open to" means your casino is not accepting Bitcoin at the moment?

This is an important topic cause this is a Bitcoin forum and many of the players use Bitcoin to gamble along with fee efficient altcoins like Litecoin, you should consider adding those options if you are to be competitive in a seemingly saturated market.

I cannot make a correct prediction now to save my life even.

It has been 2-3 weeks of terribly low outcomes. Some are down to how matches are swaying unpredictably and others are just down to wrong ass choices.

I am pretty confident on my choices today for the two fixtures we have coming up. Arsenal should be pushed by their fans to a victory.

...while I am interested to see the second half of City,if they don't win this then for me they are automatically out of the Premier League fight during this year.
We still have the whole second half of the season to go. Even if City losses, they will be just 8 points adrift from the top of the table, and have recovered from similar circumstances as early as last season when Arsenal went 8 points ahead. But if they are going to challenge they would have to play better than they are doing now.

Three games tonight, secretly hoping for Man City to drop points.
Few minutes of added time left for the first half and City are losing 1 - 0.

It has not been a convincing performance from City this season at all, and I was not so confident when I picked them to win tonight considering the atmosphere that was coming with Goddinson's Park. I was just not going to be betting against the tide on this one.

Brentford have also been terrible this evening, simply handing the victory to Wolves.

537  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: why electrum split my transaction to multiple inputs on: December 26, 2023, 05:22:10 PM
so if im accumulating btc it doesnt matter if im receiving on one adress or different adresses right ?
It does matter. You can consolidate small UTXOs from one address, but cannot do so from multiple addresses.

How bitcoin works is that each transaction is considered unique and stored separately on the chain.
If you receive $30, $50 and $20 into one address totaling to $100, you have 3 separate inputs. If you want to send $80 to someone, electrum can choose from 2 or the entire inputs to make it up. You can control this using coin control.
Coin control allows you to select the $50 and $30 inputs for the transaction.
If you do not do this, the system can choose the $50, $20 and then $10 from the $30 input, leaving you with a change of $20

Why it matters if you receive into one or multiple addresses is that you can consolidate all 3 inputs by sending them to another of your wallet when fees are very low, so you will have just one input if you want to send out later when fees might be higher.

538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Terminology and Technology of Bitcoin on: December 26, 2023, 05:04:19 PM
I have a basic knowledge of how to buy and sell Bitcoin, but I want to learn more about the technology and terminology used in Bitcoin.
That is a huge step to learn more about bitcoin, particularly through practice. Next you should want to learn what wallets to use and how to stay safe with the wallet of your choice.

You can then advance to technicalities like running your node and using layer 2 payment solutions.

so a friend told me about this forum and that here would be of great help to me. If anyone can recommend materials that would be of great help to my learning process It would be much appreciated.
You will gets lots of materials you can use. If you encounter any difficulties while studying them, you can come back to ask for more directions.

Team news for the first boxing day match is in. Newcastle are going in with their familiar lineup but without Nick Pope and Lasceles, with the only notable absence being Joelington. Isak starts today and will be looking to get back to his pre injury form, while Trippier will be happy to get some good performances in after the last couple of weeks.

Nuni at Nottingham Forest will be hoping to turn the fortunes of the club around. He is giving some of their youngsters a chance for today's game and are not expected to pick up anything, which gives them the freedom to just play football and hope for the best.

540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 25, 2023, 05:57:08 AM
Understanding how games work is very important for every game, but there are some which are very evidently dependent on luck and not skill or expertise. Knowing how to navigate such games does not protect one from loss or give an advantage.

I use such games as a fun activity and not as a means of earning through gambling.
