521  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerians effort on cryptocurrency on: June 07, 2024, 09:45:06 AM
Na who wey dem go put honey for em mouth wey no go  lick am ? Nobody, and that's why the efforts of the government in crumbling Cryptocurrency no go get head, Cryptocurrency just be like honey to our youths currently and that's why more people go dey put body inside, regardless of any steps the government take, if not for Cryptocurrency wey done turn to poverty alleviation for many youths the number of crime for too much, poverty rate for dey excess then tell me why person no go pick interest for that kind thing when eh see say em neighbours or friends they benefit from am, that's why I ask say who them go put honey for mouth wey no go lick am. Well I must commend our youths, since government no fit provide job opportunities for us, many youths through the help of Cryptocurrency done create opportunities for themselves and even open businesses wey dey serve as means of employment to others.
The most interesting part of Crypto in this country is not only that it serves as a common opportunity where Nigerians who could not find it easy to secure jobs indulges on but also on the fact that even those who do have jobs of earning hugely are investing on the Crypto markets specifically as a hedge to store values against the economy inflations because looking at the regulatory concerns of the government over the citizens, our wellbeing is no more a priority of the government regarding that our economy value is decreasing instead of increasing.

So, it really worth embracing Crypto currencies for investment purposes at the current situation which it has become a hope for the vulnerable Nigerians and a safe factor to store values.
522  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think that government can stop Bitcoin? on: June 07, 2024, 09:11:48 AM
Technically governments can’t directly stop Bitcoin as it operates on a decentralised network. Bitcoin transactions are verified & recorded by a network of computers called miners making it difficult for any single entity to control or shut down the system. What they can do is governments can regulate or restrict Bitcoin through indirect means such as imposing regulations on exchanges, enforcing AML laws or banning cryptocurrency usage. These measures can affect the ease of buying & selling Bitcoin but they can’t completely eliminate its existence or prevent people from using it.
Of course yes the government of a country can frustrate Bitcoin adoptors in its own country and forces the existence of Bitcoin to the exile by disputing the fact that Bitcoin as a global and unified digital currency would be an illegal tender and whoever found transacting or associated with the Bitcoin or the rest Crypto currencies and whoever is caught on it would face the regulatory laws of violation.

They might not actually succeed to terminate the existence of the Bitcoin totally in the country because it is a decentralized technology so, it would be unguaranteed to cover a total range in the community where no citizen can not be associated with the currency.

The ultimate regulatory power of the government over Bitcoin is mostly based on the official legal tendered for means of payments and also using the centralized exchange to trade their assets with the fiats and aside that, smart citizens can always hold safely and secretly with their Bitcoin for an asset.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you ignore/resist cheating to secure a winning bet? on: June 06, 2024, 01:45:29 PM
This can also be called hypocrisy, indeed I admit that even though I gamble for fun, I also feel very happy if I end up winning gambling despite my enjoyment, but that doesn't mean I'm not happy if I lose, I can also accept it, but it's different if I win. which I feel is twice as happy, if I am offered the opportunity to cheat at gambling, I will probably accept it because all this time we have also been cheated by bookies, most of which are arranged by the bookies so that we experience losses more often than we win and The house's chances are greater than the user's, therefore we will not be able to beat the gambling house.

Maybe with the opportunity to cheat we can win at gambling and it won't affect the gambling house even if we cheat, I'm not a hypocrite when that opportunity can be profitable maybe I will take it and consider it as fun and a bonus that I get through gambling and that will also make we have fun and will feel more pleasure than if we only feel ordinary pleasure because we lose, it's better to feel extraordinary pleasure because we win Grin
Absolutely you have also made a point to be considered otherwise, Indeed the bookies can not even do sincere enough to say that they have not been cheating on gambling by the programming nature in their gaming sites.

That is why most at times, when a gambling site is newly launched, they comes with a marketing strategies of easy winning in their platforms then, once they have gained massive dominants, they began to reprogram their system trickishly.

That is absolutely cheating on their side. They at times assumes when one wins and when one looses but if you ask me @klidex, I would say it is not enough reason for a gambler who is gaming for fun to cheat. You just have to think otherwise that the gambling and casino sites are at more legal advantage than you on such cheating terrains so staying clean and enjoy your game and if winning meets you luckily somedays then you just accept it on anyway.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fun activity but it has some potential to be profitable sometimes on: June 06, 2024, 10:59:31 AM
From the title of the topic it's clearly that I'm someone who considers gambling a fun activity but I can't ignore the fact that for some people gambling is quite profitable as well. I'm referring to very lucky ones as that some people because most of the gamblers get inspired after hearing their stories.

I've made some profitable bets especially in sportsbook but I won't consider those much profitable because the bets I have placed were of low value and that's why the earned profit was also low. Most of the profits were with very low odds and that's why I just ignore those profits and enjoy the fun part of gambling.
It is to be believable that gambling as a game of fun is now being more attracted to people at the angle of making profits. Though must gamblers whom excessive loosing has thought tough lessons has reorganized themselves to have it the other view of gambling for fun and then limits the potentials of chasing profits.

I want to know that do we have some of those lucky ones on this forum who have made exponential profits in gambling? If yes then kindly share your gambling story to inspire others.
If there had been any who made huge profit out of their gambling I don't think if there is any story to share about it rather than just saying that .... They were all lucky to win not just in the big odds but also as the small odds. Unless you want to learn about their emotional behaviors.
525  Other / Politics & Society / What is the fate of Crypto currencies if Trumps losses in the US election on: June 06, 2024, 08:21:13 AM
With my expectations and believe that Donald Trumps would influence in the enhancements of crypto adoptions, valuability and scalabilties if he wins the upcoming US election as a Pro crypto enthusiastic he is.

It is being obvious that Crypto enthusiastics have dedicated to vote Donald Trumps in prioritizing cryptocurrencies and as politics is concerned, if you are against me during my election, then I will be against you if I finally assumes office being voted in by others.

So right about that, what if Donald Trumps do not win at last, what do you think would be the fate of Crypto currencies regarding who emerged winner may grieve over Crypto enthusiastics?

527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling push notifications. on: June 05, 2024, 03:30:49 PM
Does those push notifications mean that Google has linked somehow my  laptop and Gmail account?

What is the best way to protect myself from such "guardianship" (if any)?
First the email used to register on those gambling sites are logged on in your phone same as your laptop which definitely we are entangled to receive mail notifications from both devices.

If you feel inconveniences having those notifications on your phone but preferably on your laptop, then you willi have to either logout the email from your phone or better still... take  he settings steps as @Oshosondy has guided.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting - How to determine if the line is a trap? on: June 05, 2024, 02:04:18 PM
Tell me if I'm overthinking, if I'm wrong about this, or if this really is the key to winning.
You are right and wrong because at the same time, you would still base your winning on luck which even if you put all of your efforts in picking your game based on the teams historical and future influences, there would be no assurance that your efforts would bring you forth winning.

I understand your notion on one aspect which is to say... Sometimes it feels crazy lucky that when you compromises your predicted teams to win and then pick the underated team which by your mind, they are potential to loose, such potential loosing teams are sometimes the team to win. All these strategies are still based on luck.
529  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: US politicians asks Biden to bring back Binance employee back from Nigeria. on: June 05, 2024, 06:28:12 AM
Hmm! This may set a counterpart between Donald Trumps and Joe Biden on their election, we are not insiders and are not too sure of the politicians transparency interests in demand of the Binance official to be released which could be a trap for Biden against his election. So probably the incompetence of Biden not going to be able to bring the US citizen back to the State could cause him political sabotage while Trump would be pushed upward to win the election due to his pro crypto enthusiast personal influence.

If the Nigerian government has a legal law of holding the official to their custody then Joe Biden's government can not take their geopolitical influence to oppress Nigerian government over it and if they succeeds in either legal or oppressive way to bring the Binance official out without a proper agreement that would contribute to the wellbeing affairs of crypto currencies in the country, it would tender a threat that the Nigeria government with an autonomous geopolitical power might decide to pronounce the adoption of cryptocurrencies illegal in the country which definitely would cause us the crpto enthusiastics a lot of not just insecurities, fate of penalties but also a case close to use the available P2P that is being conditional at this period of time.

The Nigerian government might actually be illegally holding the binance official down to themselves and if by professional quote that binance have not broken any of the regulatory laws then the Nigerian government would be forced to obey the supremacy.
The whole thing erupted when the Nigeria government ask the exchange to pay them $100 B which the exchange refused because it was an unethical charge and then the government picked it an offense because literally they acted just so selfishly.
Aftermath, the exchange was accused without proven that their association with the Naira in their platforms has been responsible for the devaluing of the naira.

To me, amicable settlement between the two sides would actually seem best for us because Nigeria has always been a place where two elephant fights, then the ground suffers it. Definitely the crypto enthusiastics are to suffer it of it is not a dialogue.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Failed crypto project will promote bitcoin more on: June 04, 2024, 11:20:06 PM
altcoins=>tokens=>airdrop>bitcoin
At the end of these exercises investors will turn to bitcoin as the best to invest because of it quality it has. When beginners are going the wrong way in investing cryptocurrency their is nothing that can be done to stop them but the experience they will go through their is a lot to learn from it to true back to the right thing which is bitcoin.

There are some things that can be done to stop newbies from making wrong investments mistake, we shouldn't ignored newbies going the wrong way by asking them to learn from their experiences. We are here before them so we can help to guide them to avoid making mistakes. Investing in over hyped cryptocurrency is not good investment but many newbies are investing in over hyped cryptocurrency as they don't know but think that they're doing the right thing.

We aren't financial guide to newbies but we can give them some helps that will prevent them from getting scammed. The less individuals that are getting scammed will make more individual to trust cryptocurrency but if the scams keep rising we mightn't have any individual left that'll be interesting in investing by buying some cryptocurrency for holding as the media will keep saying the cryptocurrency market is a scam one that will only make you a loser.
Just as scammers has come to have cryptocurrencies as a pond of fishing from vulnerable less knowledgeable Crypto holders with their sorts of attractive fake projects and their series of tricks used to convince their victims, so also newbies are vulnerable to easily befall on investing in their intended crypto Coins.

As newbies and unknowledged about cryptocurrencies, all they knows is that their vision is to invest on crypto with all hope that they would enjoy the attractive potentials of the coin they are investing on but unfortunately for them that due to lack of guidance, they are victimized by the so scamming crypto projects.

Most definitely if such keep to exceed it is variably affecting the utility of the reputable crypto currencies and in both adoptions on how many others would be interested to adopt the use of the crypto currencies.
It would definitely serve negative impressions within the people ought to be interested and desires to invest in the crypto market.

To an extend, I figured newbies are more quick to bring in more crypto adoptors to the crypto industry than those who had been in there because the people in the environment are likely to be convinced by the testimonies of their relative who is making it profitably in such an industry which they all had doubted about. So they would always want to catch up to the crypto industry before they are left far behind.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling increases computer education. on: June 04, 2024, 03:49:58 PM
Such experiences is equivalent to what goes on in my place too but on a context, it is literally not affected on the older people alone but as much computer illiterates who  which most of them can not even read and write, but you would be amazed to how they handles the mouse standing before the computer monitor for online gambling.

I swear it wonder how they get to understand the clubs they picks at their predictions. Possibly by the clubs symbols.

Apparently, the little experience such persons adopted on the course of gambling in using the computer system has actually proffered them some levels of computer understanding and has also instigated them to build up their reading and writing abilities.

On that note, I believe gambling with sensitivity would not only earn you the fun and profits but also inspires you with some levels of knowledge either on your investment or how you can always handle difficulties.
532  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin investment helps in better funds management. on: June 04, 2024, 02:33:29 PM
Continuing my bitcoin accumulation journey has really helped me in proper management of my finances.
I might not capture you too well in further details but as quoted, my dedication of investing in Bitcoin has actually help me personally on my financial management by which I became a disciplinary spender after learning to keep accumulating on the DCAs definitely with some amount of funds that I do not have urgent budgets for.

I have really learnt to have specific amount of money in my bank and once I am approaching to bankrupt, I would have this reminded that... Hey, watch how you spends because once you runs bankrupt you would be optioned to temper with your Bitcoin assets which does not seem right because it is stored right in the Bitcoin as an assets yielding you incomes and not on a stable stock where it does not bring you values of profits like the one in the bank which you just squandered.

This thought would always have me a threatened reminder that if I keep to ascend withdrawal from my Bitcoin whenever I needed some funds, then I am gonna run bankrupt and no alternative source of income to attain my future goal.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: June 04, 2024, 11:37:58 AM
we can start the speculations and what will be our favorite teams for next season
What do you think about it?
It could be a fun call for discussion. Lol
Honestly I don't think if it is necessary of us jumping to fans a team to another on seasonal occasions.

A die hard fan of a football team would always give his team the chances to do better if they have not been playing interestingly and not denouncing your team in just  a particular season because they did not do well to bring trophy.

This is a game of interest and of course game of fun. Infact, a total game of luck the the teams formations are highily formed so we never can tell if the new embracing team would bring you that trophy you dumped your formal team for.

So to me, I will always be with my team but though after much that the team organizers are not putting to their best then I may consider to leave so for now, I am not deviating from my team yet and not even next season.
I  definitely not a trophy tricks but teams performances.
534  Economy / Speculation / Re: The attractiveness of Bitcoin among my friends on: June 04, 2024, 09:39:04 AM
The first thing i expect that we all have to do when it comes to being amidst our contemporaries, we should learn to observe first before we make any move on introducing bitcoin to them, this will help us to have an idea on their approach towards it and if it will be an acceptable offer or not by the majority of the, the more reasons why you have discovered that many couldn't afford to tell others about what they do because they already know it will end into a mockery if they are not the kind that support for such.
I think that should be our own initiative already by observing the crowd first and see if they are open to volatile investments or not, otherwise introducing bitcoin to them and giving them a glimpse of how it works and turn into profits might only be a waste of time, and throwing you a lot of questions but only criticize it in the end and leave negative impressions. I don’t want to be pessimistic but this is the reality about bitcoin. So as much as possible, I don’t tell everyone that I am into bitcoin, but only those who are closest to me knew that I am a bitcoin enthusiast.
I get your points very clear, I understand that there are certain persons you would initiate about investing on Bitcoin with and they would ridiculous your interest.

In a positive morale, the range of closeness or relationship with anyone and also the environments should be determined if initiating Bitcoin associated discussion would be appreciated to the second party and though, maybe you don't just get yourself exposed that you invests on Bitcoin but literally having it an interesting discussion then if the person picks an interest then it is good and safe to make an obligation towards the persons response on achieving the goal

But on my case, I think it was safe and good. A lot of them are into digital marketing including Forex trading which has crashed in my country as a course of the federal government holding dollar exchange responsible for the devaluing of our traditional currencies naira (#).
And besides, we have been childhood friends and had bonded memories during school days.
Was not enough reason though but I sensed it that even if all won't be interested, there would be those who would and interestingly, it was beyond as thought.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you ignore/resist cheating to secure a winning bet? on: June 03, 2024, 04:36:31 PM
Then I would say all gamblers have the same goals of betting to make profit rather their volume of desires differs where there are desperate and contented gamblers

So if you are one of the specified fun gamblers, can you resist cheating opportunity and just rely your winning on your own ability?
Some days ago I wrote about ethical gambling. It is not every gambler that is desperate for a win. Some of us are actually guided by a moral code of conduct. I believe that if I cheat someone I would be cheated back on it is a circle of life. If I cannot win the right way and instead look for cheat code then I cannot be said to be an ethical gambler who is gambling for fun even though I desire to win.

Anyone who would easily cheat at the slightest opportunity is someone I see that do not have a source of income or livelihood. And that person is going to be a potential candidate of gambling addiction because they want to win by any means possible.
In an overview every gamblers are chasing same goals which is winning but not all that are gambling to make profits. So certainly, the rest gambling on the goal to win are the entertainment players which they could still derive fun even after loosing and those gambling to make profits are curious to win and are usually emotionally imbalanced when they losses.

Most definitely by gambling for fun, you can let go your lost and can not afford undertaking any means that might be or against the casino policies which could be as a result of cheating while those gambling to make profits with all desperations are liable to nevermind breaking the rules. However, the result awaiting such profit chasers as an implications of using cheats is an express way to their addictions.
536  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do we really plant trees? on: June 03, 2024, 02:03:16 PM
People in the society do not understand that the beauty of nature in an environment lies on lively green elements such as plants.
It does not only exist as a hedge to the high temperature of the climate which we humans are being responsible causing such a disasterous weather conditions by ourselves and yet they ignores the potential outcomes of cutting down trees without replacement all because of agriculture and Urban developments.

I have already planted mine which we can see from the sunset reflection that the plants is already giving shelters for relaxation during high tempered weather.
Not just that but has also given the environment beautification.
People really need to figure the natural service planted trees could offer to mankind.

So if you are one of the specified fun gamblers, can you resist cheating opportunity and just rely your winning on your own ability?

Mind you: Cheating is cheating on whichever way as long you sources your winning outside your ability
We've seen so many responses coming from casino operators who caught their players cheating in the past and they always take action on it even if that cheating happens a few months, so you can try but your success to come out clean is vague.
That is very true. Cheating on the casino can be of excitements to the gambler but the casinos are always on a watchlist with their smart tool to catch up such cheaters probably going through the gamblers history.

Your approach of gaming attitude can actually call upon the attention of the casino to get your account on investigation which can lead the gambler to be penalized.
I remember a thread in the board the OP talked about his friend winning over 10X in a row, unfortunate for him the casino banned him and the went further to create another account leading to his locked of account and his money for stocked there.

Meanwhile .....I think the casino system detected some malicious interactions of the gambler using cheats which lead to his banning of accounts.
538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump accepts Lightning Network for donation of his campaign in Bitcoin on: June 03, 2024, 09:19:00 AM
It is the first time ever a President nominee in the USA accepts Bitcoin donation for his campaign by Bitcoin Lightning Network.

Trump Becomes First President To Accept Bitcoin Lightning Payments For Campaign Donations.

The team of Trump's campaign accept it by partnering with Opennode. I don't judge anything about Trump and his team but I see he is actually a creative man and proved it through his life and business career as well as political career recent years. He doesn't refuse to accept anything, even it is very new, if it can potentially helps him to get benefit.

https://txstats.com/d/000000012/lightning-network?orgId=1&from=now-7y&to=now
Number of opened channels drop but Sum of channel value recovers and increases since September 2023.
Well, to correct your take, Trump is not the first presidential candidate to accept Bitcoin payment via lightning network since Robert F. Kennedy was the first to do this but others have started accepting payment in Bitcoin and the person to bring this pattern in was Kentucky Senator, Rand Paul in 2016. Back then, to accept payment in crypto was regarded as "wading into strange waters"
Most of these politicians are not really against Bitcoin but will not be bold to stand up for it when it matters, to them anything that will sway the public into lobbying for them should be used to their advantage and it will be wise to not trust the words of politicians.
If the OP would stand to be corrected, you are right to say Donald Trumps is not the first electoral candidate to commend on the adoption of Bitcoin payments of lightening network.

However, Trump has been crypto pro which he had made publicly more visible than anyone else. Perhaps that would enlarge his electorial teams speculations and gaining him hope to achieve his political goal of winning the US presidential election. Yes quite agreed that politicians are not reliable as they could make unfulfillable promises.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can you ignore/resist cheating to secure a winning bet? on: June 02, 2024, 11:24:48 PM
Given benefits of doubt to those gamblers who says gambling is a game of entertainment which they only gambles for fun and those who prioritize gambling to make profits, do you think those who claims gambling for funs can ignore or resist any given cheating opportunity to secure winning knowing that it could multiply their stakes in returns? Because if they can not, then absolutely they don't game for fun but for profit interests.

Then I would say all gamblers have the same goals of betting to make profit rather their volume of desires differs where there are desperate and contented gamblers

So if you are one of the specified fun gamblers, can you resist cheating opportunity and just rely your winning on your own ability?

Mind you: Cheating is cheating on whichever way as long you sources your winning outside your ability
540  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you think it's best to consistently use the same exchange? on: June 02, 2024, 09:06:59 PM
To me I don't really consider all this listed above the most important thing to do is to monitor and build your trust from that particular exchange even as we know that using one particular exchange is risky but provided they are trusted and have all the trading pair you required then no need jumping from exchange to exchange most at times we can have difficulty with passing kyc and other important things that could be needed by the exchange.
Most considerations about trader/investor using a particular exchange is the convenience features, services and of course trust just as you have said.

It is even preferable in being conversant with one exchange instead of stressing to adopt to others which could be potential to lost of funds due to unverified exchanges reputations before adopting it.

I would only consider swapping to other exchange when the current exchange is perceived with negative remarks or the system does not accept the safe of their clients their priority as that may be considered selfish interest of the exchange.
