521  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Newbies abeg on: February 16, 2024, 08:55:28 PM
Freedom of speech shouldn't be a medium for someone to speak outside common sense and rational thinking. We have a local board, what sense does it make for him to go to the wider community to advertise our weakness and convince people of our scamming prospects?. Freedom of speech is good, but making others look stupid after you must have expressed yourself is irrational. We are here fighting for recognition in the forum and to have a moderator and merrit sources and someone from within us is out there convincing the world that we are all scammers, how they wan take us serious?

Know that we have forum recognition. What that matters that gives recognition on this forum is your posting quality and not how bad your country is.

Do not praise Nigeria as if there are no scammers. The country economy is bad. Lack of employment makes many youth to take cyber criminal activities as work. The guy is not wrong at all. Can you not even see what is happening internally in Nigeria now. There is something wrong internally and externally, as long as people wants to make money. You see the high rate of kidnapping, all for a means to make money.

Do not say you want forum recognition that people should not have freedom to post what is going on in their country. If you think that he is wrong, go and post there and correct him like I have posted before. And in fact, you have nothing to correct than the world itself cruel. The economy was bad, it got worse, scammers increased in number. That is not wrong.
Firstly I don't get what you're trying to say and I wished I understood what the op is trying to create right now, people should understand the difference between creating topic for discussion and informing the public about the current situation, I wished the op would have written something better like after listing the problems try and create something new like a solution for everyone to learn. After blabbing and talking nonsense everyone will still face the hardship then there's no point creating such nonsense like "if you're not rich you can't feed well" like who asked for such opinion.
Everybody here know say the country current situation too hard so why informing the public without listing a solution, I believe everyone is here to learn so I can decide to learn from one or two opinion listed but there's nothing to even learn.
Talking about reputation, just one post can't tarnish the reputation of naija and it can never happen, the information the op passed out is just a normal inform and every country get this scam issue not only naija, I can't paint another country black because of what I heard for example, naija get scammers but in the midst of bad eggs good eggs go definitely dey.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will AI Take over the Position of VAR? on: February 15, 2024, 09:59:05 PM
Introducing an AI now is not a bad idea but I don't think this will happen sooner or later, I think some reasons might be attributed to this decision and if FIFA wanted to make this decision it would have been announced since but we've not heard of such yet.
I will also support this decision cause aside making mistakes some mistakes get too obvious and sometimes the annoying decision can ruined the game, I have seen a lot of unfair decision but still the game has to go smoothly for things to be in order.
523  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why social media influencer is a danger to our newbies on: February 14, 2024, 08:15:02 PM
I will not blame those influencers neither will I blame the victims, the victims are ignorant and sometimes fear of the unknown can lead to this meanwhile those influencers are just there to make their money.
In as much as everyone wants profit with their investment or trade we should be careful with common mistakes like this people faced earlier that lead to loss etc.
Talking about trading, I know a lot of people just want to make the money sharp and wanting to seek help or signals from others, some will go ahead depending on online tutorials like random videos on YouTube where people who bear the name expert try to share their knowledge and opinion. I never try am before but it's best to always ask someone who get involve with those video if they're really making profit, always ask questions and if possible take more time to learn first before taking any step further.
Secondly those influencers you mentioned never begged anyone to follow their page but traders just willing followed the page for more info, another method to prevent all this is don't get involve with almost all influencers page you meet online cause not all influencers are to be trusted.
Lastly know what you want as a trader or rather know what you're going for, in my opinion na confused people dey easily get lured to all this loss on social Media.
524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 14, 2024, 02:04:21 PM
Historically, many folks have gotten overly greedy with their bitcoin and they put their bitcoin with third-parties in order to receive interest or yield and then they end up getting fucked.. so frequently it is not worth the risk to be using those kinds of interest bearing products in relation to your bitcoin, unless you can have some confidence that they are not gambling with your BTC too much.. which is truly difficult to assess because sometimes they are lying to you about what they are doing with your BTC in order to earn the yield.

That's why I don't like that yield farming or anything you call it which have long months or years lock-in since we don't know if they could able to last for long period of time.

Usually what we can see there is they turn scam and they take those balances and fucked up all their investors.

Much better if they just save their bitcoin on their personal wallet since they have total control of their funds and they can do whatever things they like especially selling it when they want pinch some profit.
Greed is really a terrible thing. If not greed, what will make someone give something as precious as Bitcoin to a third party? I see yield farming and the likes as ponzi schemes where the promoters lure people with huge ROI, they will pay the first set of people so they will spread the testimony to attract more people into their scheme where they will continue to gauge the level of cash inflow and will disappear as soon as they meet their target. I remember falling for those ponzi schemes then and it was not a good experience.

Only if people can see the power there is in owning Bitcoin, a treasure you hold that will never be affected by inflation and have the potential of generating unimaginable ROI. Bitcoin is one of the investment that requires the least input and maintenance, the job is done once and nothing is required to give you a lifestyle that you will be happy about. Provided you made the investment with money you don't have any urgent need of, money you can afford to leave in your bank for several years without being perturbed, then you will enjoy the beauty of Bitcoin.

Anyone that is privileged to learn about Bitcoin investment should take it seriously as it might just be a way of securing your future without you even knowing. The small fractions of your income you inject into Bitcoin might just be your biggest investment in the future.
Talking about privacy I believe one of the primary reasons of creating bitcoin was to gain full control of your money and knowing every single details about your money like being in charge so what's the point of giving a third party to control and hold.
I have heard similar testimonies like this online and I strongly believe people who share those testimonies are part of the team and project, sometimes things like this happen and you'll see testimonies like; I have tried this and it worked and surprising you'll see so many people giving testimonies like this under the page, I believe no one actually paid them but there's a group of people who form those gang to share false news. The moment people understand about holding bitcoin and the terms the lesser we will hear different stories like this about ponzi scheme. In this situation there's nothing much to say as most people have learnt the hard way and promised not to get involve with any third party.
525  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin Investment VS Betting 😱😱😱😱 on: February 14, 2024, 01:16:28 PM
This argument is irrelevant and sometimes you don't have to bother getting involve in such argument. If we start arguing about gambling and bitcoin what should we tell people comparing gold and bitcoin or other valuable asset.
Gambling is totally different from bitcoin and besides a lot of people tag bitcoin investment as a risky investment but still if invested properly at the right time you will get to understand why people choose bitcoin investment.
Gambling is just a game we play to win or lose, I can decide to stake a bet  now or any day and I will still be expecting my win or lose within a short period of time because gambling works with luck  but bitcoin investment doesn't work that way cause you have to wait for a very long time before  expecting any profit. Bitcoin is a valuable asset people buy and store for future use  just like gold.
There's nothing to argue about expect your friend is referring to trade and a lot of strategy people use in trading still doesn't serve as gambling.
526  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 13, 2024, 10:42:08 PM
Saving our hard earned money have never been a bad idea, but their are certain things we need to consider before thinking of saving, such as inflation.
Inflation is truly the real enemy to every money that is being saved up, because when the time is right like a year time, when it should be used for it purpose, the value wouldn't be as how it actually was when you started saving it, but on the other hand, if we have been investing that money into Bitcoin, land or gold bit by bit, over the course of a year, the value of that your investment would have added additional value compared to our savings that will be eaten up by inflation.
So too me we should think of investing more of our money than saving it, so that  inflation wouldn't eat it up.
Your not wrong but it depends which way and how long will the person invest, let's not just view our investment as money supplier every year or something else. Everyone have their different reasons for investing and some might have another reason for saving their money using fiat currency, in what ways investing should be more preferable compared to saving. You can mention so many investment like gold, bitcoin etc but some investment might not serve as profit due to lack of understanding as an investor, what I'm trying to say is knowing the kind of investment and understanding the terms before investing is the best.
Let's not forget investing requires money and sometimes you need to exhibit the habit of patient or else you can't invest for long.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 13, 2024, 11:05:06 AM
My thoughts on the Copenhagen vs Manchester City game
Copenhagen are a disciplined and organised team who surprised many by getting out of the Champions League group. They can hold the ball up well and are dangerous on the counter-attack. But it won't be easy for them to play against City. Manchester City are in good shape. The Citizens have de Bruyne back, Haaland scored at the weekend. City will control the ball, create chances and have the advantage. The probability of Copenhagen's success is low, given the strength of their opponent. I think Guardiola wants to solve all questions in ths match. Therefore, my prediction is a win for the English, they are favourites. I assume that in this game City will win, and there will be at least three goals scored.
Ever since they released the round 16 draw I knew Manchester city will definitely win the match, there's nothing to argue about, although I'm not too familiar with Copenhagen skill but I've watched matches like this so I'm definitely predicting the match in favour of Manchester city. Kevin is back and that's enough reason why city boys will defeat Copenhagen.
The return of Kevin has impacted the team and truly the combination of Haaland, Kevin will be so good and interesting to watch
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 13, 2024, 10:26:38 AM
Yep, Chelsea isn't a club who often score a goal in the late, so it's really surprising how they can score 2 goals during injury time.

I feel like Chelsea was lucky, Crystal Palace is a mediocre club, but Chelsea still struggle to beat them. Crystal Palace had a terrible history, they rarely won in this season. We will see the real Chelsea's improvement in the next five days, they will face Manchester City in Etihad Stadium.
Well, Chelsea's victory in that match was like luck. But Chelsea's performance is indeed much better than Crystal Palace. Even in the record of meetings between these two teams, we can see that Crystal Palace always loses to Chelsea. But getting 2 goals in the extra minutes was just like luck. But this luck was also created due to the persistence of the Chelsea players who continued to attack the Crystal Palace defense and dominated the match from the first half until the final minute. So this victory is indeed a worthy victory and also does not come as any surprise to anyone.
What I observed from both teams during the second half, crystal palace had more than two chances to score but due to the defense it was just too difficult and Chelsea at the other hand had multiple chances to score but they managed to score two extra goal, if Chelsea had applied more pressure during the first half I think they would have gotten 2 goals before the second half, although this is not so easy because crystal palace had good attack and defense with this the match looked so tough for Chelsea. I'm still surprised how Chelsea managed to score two goals within a short period of time, I'm thinking it's due to their pressure and possession during the second half like I said before Chelsea really had  good chances compared to crystal palace.

SIX goals!!! in 65 minutes for Arsenal away at West Ham's London stadium. West Ham are known as "the hammers"  but today, they are the one getting hammered. The Home team, West Ham hasn't managed a shot on target in 65 mins while conceding 6 in 65. Saka gets 2, Trousard, Gabriel Magalhães, Rice and Saliba get one each.
Hehehe, I think they are being hammered by the bullets from the Gunners. I didn't expect them to play this way, seeing as they are usually comfortable when they get a certain number of goals but it looks like they came ready for west Ham today. Maybe if they score one more, they will manage to complete the humiliation by spelling WEST HAM. Interesting!
I also didn't expect such from Arsenal but I'm definitely  happy for the team and their brilliant performance each matchday, this is a real definition of coming back and not just to score goals but dominating in all aspect. The performance we watch each matchday from Arsenal shows they're improving and it's likely the competition will be too tough.
I managed to observe the strategy Arsenal used and if they continue using this strategy they'll definitely win all match, they used the first half to dominate and managed to score 4 goals within 14mins, this is amazing and same west ham won Arsenal at Emirates stadium.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 10, 2024, 10:32:12 PM
Taking a break for awhile is not a big deal cause I don't gamble always and besides I don't take gambling so serious, I only bet when I have the money for bet but if there's no spare funds, I will wait for awhile.
Sometimes when I see people talking about their addict lifestyle and they can't resist the act for a day I will be surprised. The reason why people like this still find it difficult to take a break or quit is because they stayed too long with the act like spending more time to gamble and it'll take time for such person to quit
532  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The need to acquire an asset now on: February 10, 2024, 09:40:20 PM
You're actually right and even with this mindset people will still fail to invest or get something meaning to call an asset.
I don't know if you're speaking out of experience but I have seen several cases like this and the funniest part is no one can actually please anyone. It's best to please yourself first before pleasing someone else.
If you get the money now and you believe in the asset then it's best to acquire now and another example is acquiring an asset of your choice now is the best idea cause nobody be actually believe say the price of things go increase, if people be really know say land go cost I believe say people for no sell their land back then or rather people for buy land.
In my opinion, you no need to get big money like million before you get asset, anything valuable wey go bring profit fit serve as an asset so I no really understand why people dey find big money before owning an asset.
533  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How would normal Nigerian survive naira inflation on: February 09, 2024, 08:35:00 PM
Dear op, you should also have a personal answer to the question, bitcoin as a store of value has helped a lot of people  hedge against inflation. Although Not every citizen will adopt bitcoin investment so it's likely people like this will find other alternative.
Let me answer your question about the inflation and I personally think people will get involve in different kinds of job that pays quality, some might start up a new business etc. I don't know about your area but in my area people get involved in different kinds of business just to earn. Inflation in Nigeria is not a new thing and citizens always find a means to survive.
534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 09, 2024, 02:02:12 PM
I frequently question myself and even looking back at my own bitcoin history in terms of whether I really did manage my BTC as well as I should have had managed it, and sometimes my earlier assessment of what I was doing ends up varying from my going back and reviewing what I did when and why I did what I did... So in many senses, many of us may well make various mistakes along the way in our bitcoin journey, and sometimes we still may well end up having overall success (and even particular success), even though we may well have had made several significant mistakes along the way.
I took time reading everything carefully, although I can't quote all but some few point tells alot about early investors and the mistake investors made but just like what you said some will still end up having success with their investment, this is just what I observed from bitcoin investment lately, no matter the mistake and the ups and down when investing in bitcoin there's always a room to make amend if only the investor is willing. Reading experience like this from an experienced  investors is amazing, although I just started my journey with the aim of success and I know it takes time but it depends how far I'm willing to learn.

Some times it takes these losers a very long time to realize their mistakes.  I have a few friends who I sent a decent amount of bitcoin at various points between late 2014 and late 2016, and so you can imagine even relatively small amounts in dollar values are ending up to add up to quite a bit in times like this, and I even made some statements to suggest that they need to be guarding what I had sent them and maybe even buy some more of their own.. and sometimes they did both of those but then later down the road they lost courage and sold all their bitcoin.
I think I have seen similar stories in the forum about early investors who sold early and sometimes I wonder why but it came to my notice they never wanted such investment, in my opinion and with what I've learnt here, bitcoin investment should be treated with care mostly for investors who intend to buy in bulk to avoid loss, in essence knowing about the investment first will go a long way and it will be of help to an investor.

DCA is a crypto-tactical strategy

This is a bitcoin thread.  Hopefully no one is concluding that DCA works with shitcoins, because one of the presumptions regarding the benefits of DCA is that ultimately at some point the asset is going to go up in value and you will be advantaged by ongoing buying it because generally speaking its longterm trend is upward.. even though in the short term its trend might not be upward.    Except for bitcoin, you cannot presume that any shitcoin's trend is upward.. so hopefully people are not that dumb to buy shitcoins with such strategy, even though there are a lot of people who use the DCA term in shitcoins, and they might not realize that the shitcoin may well not have an upward trend.. ..
Shitcoins should be excluded when mentioning DCA strategy and even when dealing with bitcoin there's no point involving shitcoins. Sometimes investors involve shitcoins for more profit but I wonder if this plan do work out for them but I don't think it's necessary talking about shitcoins.
535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please stop asking for "legal tender status" on: February 09, 2024, 12:59:10 PM
Let the people freely ask what they want to ask from the government. And let the government decide what they think is better for the nation and her people.

As far as I know, Salvadorans, the citizens of the beautiful El Salvador where Bitcoin is a legal tender, are not forced to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a legal tender there, meaning the people, businesses, the government itself may accept it. But since there is another legal tender which is the US dollar, everybody has the option to prefer the US dollar. It would certainly be a different case if Bitcoin is the sole legal tender of a country.

Anyway, worry not about governments controlling Bitcoin. It can never happen.

As I said above (and I provided a link where you can read about El Salvador and Bitcoin), they are not "really" implementing legal tender there because they don't enforce it. (And I suspect it's because they simply couldn't in practicality--and I further suspect that El Salvador did this as a publicity stunt, not real policy).

I don't worry about governments controlling Bitcoin--it's legal almost everywhere. But the only thing that could change that is a government forcing everybody to use it, which means they'd need to regulate it.
I think this is where you're getting it wrong and you need to change your impression towards bitcoin and the word legal tender. The government can't force everyone to start using bitcoin if bitcoin becomes a legal tender, you just want a fight when there's nothing to fight about.
Making bitcoin a legal tender is just a means for citizens and bitcoin enthusiasts to freely use bitcoin as a means of payment etc. Secondly if you're actually sounding like this about the government bodies then you're actually saying they're foolish because even if bitcoin becomes a legal tender today you don't expect government to kick out their fiat currency, forcing everyone to use bitcoin simply means the fiat currency is no longer needed. The issue with government controlling bitcoin I can't relate with such and I don't see this happening sooner or later

536  Economy / Services / Re: Hello Im new here and i can help you with privacy matters on: February 09, 2024, 12:28:51 PM
Just one question for op and I hope he/she answer; what do you mean by privacy and in what term will you be of help to everyone here without hurting them, for example seeing a newbie with just 4post rendering such service. This is not surprising cause I see this a lot and to be honest you'll never get what you're looking for here. Anyone falling victim to such fail to understand what the term privacy means.
No words of discouragement, if you're truly with genuine intention no one will listen to such here and you should not forget that this forum enlightens members about scam and unwanted offers.
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 09, 2024, 12:04:51 PM
According to one of your earlier posts you already invested in bitcoin in the past but then had to sell it so I am not sure why you are talking like you never bought bitcoin before and know nothing about it. An obvious answer is merit fishing but I am curious to hear your answer.  Wink

This is one thing about cooking up stories. Most times, the author forgets about what they said before and is too lazy to study the old thread in order to keep the stories in place. Instead, they come up with a new one every now and then, forgetting there could be members who are concerned and could trace and get their things all out and together.
This is just simple as most people tell lies and forgetting about their previous post, why tell lies when lacking a retentive memory. The op investing in bitcoin has nothing to do with forum members so I don't get why he/she will cook up unwanted stories.
Seeing the reply of other forum members shows the story is not valued. If this story is so honest then I will advice the op to ask questions or rather read before creating such topics
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 08, 2024, 10:00:42 PM
No matter how deep you are in gambling never you sell a property because you will surely regret it when it doesn't work the way you expected.
This issue has been the major problem of most gamblers, the urge of wanting more but it all ends with pains and regret. A lot of people have emphasis on this issue here and it seems people still don't want to change, people like this should always learn the hard way cause they've refused to change.
People lost their life due to greed, I read a story online and the gambler lost his life due to gambling, he borrowed money worth million just for gambling and the end result was death.

Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?
I will never get involve with this act and it seems people who sold their property to bet never had value for the property, we all have ups and down when gambling but I don't think I will do such to satisfy my gambling desire.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blue card to be introduced in football. on: February 08, 2024, 09:25:50 PM
This new rule sounds strange and funny, from my point of view there's something behind the decision but we've not heard what inspired the decision. When this rule will start to function alot of people will not be used to this rule including me, any player that gets the blue card for 10mins and their opponent will play complete during the ten mins, the blue card is just like the red card but the impact is just for awhile, in my opinion anything can happen during the 10mins without any support, we all know football needs support like team work and if anything happens to the key player it's like the team will lack structure. This new rule should not affect the system that's just all.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 07, 2024, 08:57:58 PM
Nigeria used experience to contain a very good south Africa  team. What a game although I played Nigeria on my bet to win but it ended up on penalties. Poor display from Nigeria midfield, Alex iwobi was completely out of the game, but victor osimhen continue to show class. Nigeria have a chance on winning the AFCON because of the quality they have, they should step up their game in the finals.
I am not really impressed with the way Nigeria played today, they were so defensive, only for Osimhen who stepped up and showed class,I would have said the rest were playing under pressure. In the first half of the game,South Africa really played well and controlled the game, and I didn't even expect that,I thought the game was going to end in either 1-0 or 2-0 in favour of Nigeria, but it turned, making them go into extra time where Nigera won.We don't know who they are going to play next, but Nigeria needs to work well and have a team spirit because if they should meet a much better side, they will win them. The only thing I love most about them is that they are very solid defensively.
Both teams didn't even play as I expected and although the first half was just too hard for Nigerians, looking at the match both teams tried and to some extend Osimhen got tired showing the effort he put to play this game.
In terms of assist and good pass I will give credit to South Africa and even with all the good assist they missed so much  opportunity like wise super eagles.
Even with the celebration and excitement the super eagles need to restructure the team in terms of assist for finals.
Surprising how Nwabali saved those goals and I never expected such performance from Nwabali, honestly speaking Nwabali is the reason for the celebration.
