Yeah. Give it some time, not everyone monitors this thread 24/7 and LC didn't post a news release on btct.co.

This was just posted by Labcoin:

As we already stated, chip documentation isn't ready yet for public distribution.
We will start distribution to third parties when hashing power deployed will meet the goals we have set. This is our top priority right now.
We want to mention that we have received interview requests from several well know parties, CNN and Bloomberg being the most prominent  and late progress with our 65nm design lead us to believe we will deploy 200-300 TH within 2013.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263445.msg3080599#msg3080599

...and this:

Deployment is proceeding according to plans and pictures of the devices will be revealed later. Hashing will start on the promised date.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263445.msg3080644#msg3080644

There's still almost nothing but words to back up their claims, but if true this is a significant increase in hashes.

I'll be 45 next week. I'm old enough to know I don't know half as much as I thought I knew when I was half as old as I am now.

Cheers.

It's worth more than it was an hour ago so I doubt it's going back to where it was before LC posted. Previously we had assurances of 50+Th/s coming online soon with almost zero proof and now we have assurances that 200 - 300Th/s are coming online soon...also with almost zero proof. Whether you find their story credible or not, it's still an improvement.

Anyone else noticed how precise is the timing with the updated every time share price stars droping ?

Every. Time.
So unlike some others they actually give a fuck about the shareholders and defending the share price rather than taking a vow of silence once they've got their IPO money. How awful for us!

I'd like very much to adopt your take on their actions. My only reservation is that they didn't lock their shares like they said they would, so we don't know if or how much skin the founders have in this game. See the problem?

The problem is that many sent their precious BTC to BFL last summer with an exchange rate hovering around $6 because BFL promised delivery in October(2012). They'll never get those BTCs back from their gear even if it's delivered tomorrow. When you convert the cost of a BFL minirig paid for in BTC in June of 2012 at a $6 exchange rate you quickly begin to understand the magnitude of the problem.

What's odd is that BFL's defenders get so emotional about the fact that ROI in BTC doesn't matter, just fiat. Except, for people who rolled over the BTC they got from mining hoping to increase the amount they had, they... basically got screwed over.

I don't know why it's so hard for them to deal with the fact that a lot of people wanted to increase their BTC holdings, and believed the price would go way up (which it did)

Quite frankly I don't believe many of them believe what they're saying. We've all seen instances where Josh has used exchange rate fairy dust to justify what can only be described as robbery. Why would this miner turned COO of a mining hardware equipment company find it so difficult to believe people would want their BTC investments to return more BTC? He doesn't believe his own words.

I can toss in a Corsair H100 liquid cooler for another .25 This kept it nice and cool. For the MB Hex and cooler you'd be looking at 1.5 shipped. Pics = tomorrow...it's late. Shipping to Canada?

Cheers.
529  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 04, 2013, 03:18:03 AM
I can't even begin to imagine how p1ssed I'd be if I ponied up $32k for 1.5Th of gear that supposedly consumes 1500w on August 1, 2012 and THIRTEEN MONTHS + 2 days later the bozos I paid were just getting around to shipping me 500Gh/s that consumes 2200w. Let's hope that person didn't pay in BTCs.

This is fairly common knowledge and is why so many threads are addressed directly to Theymos.

I have a Giga board:

...and either a quad or hex CPU depending on how fancy you want to get.

Cheers.

HA XD got the same board and its never gone wrong, running for 2 years now Cheesy with a nicely overclocked I7 965 Extreme

It's easily been the best board I've ever had.

Nice board, It is a little bit older than what I had in mind. What are you asking for it?

The board I'd let go for .35BTC shipped. If you want to pair it with the quad I can do 1BTC shipped for the pair. The hexacore I'll do 1.25 shipped with the board. LMK.

skt 1366 i7 930 with HT overclocks to 4.3. I don't know how high the i7 970 hex clocks.

You're fine, this is a stressful time with a dreary outlook for mining profits in the near term. I've learned to use maths as a guide but to not rely on strictly numbers to make my purchasing decisions. Accepting as fact that each vendor will deliver on their claims has proven to be a mistake time and again...someone will likely miss their target in a major way. I believe we've placed an order with the most reliable vendor of gen 2 equipment available and the only one that's delivered anything to date.

Altering the 70/30 split would require a shareholder vote and I'm not yet convinced that doing so is necessary. We'll still have 665ish in our growth fund after this purchase and we'll continue to pile up more while waiting on our additional 800Gh/s. If we continue to see these quickening +30% retargets then we may have to make a change, but I'm hesitant to reduce our dividends unnecessarily.

Cheers.

Hi xhoomerx10. I agree there is a risk that we'll never break even on this gear, but this is a less risky way to keep up with difficulty increases than buying from the secondary market as we'd then be purchasing equipment with dramatically lower efficiency and a less certain future. As it stands bitfury should wear the efficiency crown for shipping products until hashfast ships and if any of these companies fail to deliver or deliver significantly later than expected we should benefit.

Cheers.

Hi guitarplinker. They were 123.6225BTC total.
539  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 03, 2013, 11:22:42 PM
Hi bobboooiie. They're under some pressure to lower prices. I don't know if they'll do so, but they appear to be selling rather slowly based on inventory listed on their website. Also while exchange rates seem to have plateaued for the time being I'd not like it if we left a pile of BTC on the table as rates continue to move in our favor. Lastly burnin mentioned work he's doing on a high performance board based on bitfury chips and I'd like to see what he comes up with.

Cheers.
