521  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a place called Africa really Exist in the world Economy on: March 26, 2024, 03:33:52 PM
Africa is a continent and there are some small and large exceptions but backwards is still the first term associated with word Africa.
Africa still has many problems, most of them man made. They do keep blaming the colonizers and that surely is one reason for where they are but not the major one. Conflict religious or ethnic, corruption, and politics is what hurting them most. The militant culture have not let them try democracy for long. The money doesn't improve the situation either. African needs to learn to co-exist in order to prosper within and among different nations. The enemy of people is lack of education and poverty.
You have made some very good points. I remember hearing a story a long time ago from someone who had contact with an individual from an african nation who said that in his country, when one tribe developed more than another, had a good harvest, or was doing something more efficiently than its neighboor tribes, the ones around came to their tribe and burned things down. That is, they envied the thriving tribe and didn't allow its success to remain, and as consequence everyone was "forced" to live in misery and ignorance.

From this man's perspective, it was like working and improving yourself were reasons for punishment in Africa, accordingly to common sense. And I can perfectly understand this could be very true, because it's also a phenomenon I face in the third world country where I live, even though it happens in a much inferior scale when compared to african continent. When people envy their neighboors and don't want them to thrive, the whole society suffers and gets stagnant on time and space.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upon the death of a bitcoin user. on: March 26, 2024, 03:11:18 PM
Similarly to bitcoin what happens in the event of my dismissal since no relative knows about my investment. It doesn't really make sense if my family can't enjoy my wealth. Will it be lost or is it good to entrust someone incase I'm no longer there?
Yes, if you don't share your keys with someone, your money will be lost once you are death and no access to your Bitcoin wallets will exist anymore, what means your coins will belong to a vast portion of Bitcoins which are already lost forever on the network, since they belong to early investors who didn't care at all about their investments, consequently losing access to their wallets. If you don't want that to happen to you, make sure to talk to your family about your investment in Bitcoin and how they can use your funds in case you can't do this by yourself anymore.

Many people fear doing this, because they don't trust anyone besides themselves in this world, so even the family is out of question for them to share their secrets to. If it's not you case, and you have beloved people who you want to support through your patrimony once you are gone, you don't have to worry about that. Go ahead and teach them everything they have to know in order to deal with BTC online, besides sharing your secret keys with them as well.

Or you can deposit your secret keys data inside a vault of something like this, allowing family members to open it only after your death.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to handle unethical casino tactics? on: March 25, 2024, 05:12:37 PM
Now, I pose a question to the community: Are we comfortable with these practices? And if not, what steps should we take next?
If you feel like a casino has practices which are unfair, dishonest and misleading, avoid using their services. Don't sign up at their platform or just exclude your account. Move yourself to another platforms which you think are lefit, fair and genuine with their players. These are the steps you should always take regards any services you become a customer. If everyone acted like this, these shady platforms wouldn't survive for too long, therefore, they would have to change the way they handle business to conquer the sympathy and support from potential gamblers.

Some people would say more regulations are needed and more laws enforced by authorities regards these virtual businesses. However, it's not the guarantee of any definitive solution in the end, because even in heavily regulated countries, there are still many shady businesses operating around and cheating on their customers. For that reason, I believe the solution consists more in individual actions than on measures implemented by the collective.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cruel level of addiction, causing harms and still keeping it up on: March 25, 2024, 04:58:15 PM
Where I am confused is that why won't he stopped already? Those that are addicted to gambling that i knew get to this same level of losing everything and they make a U-turn in the end, what is keeping him imprisoned ? His mind? or he is already crazy? Or even a spiritual attack?
This question can be only answered by a professional from the mental health sector. Your friend should be conducted to psychological treatment or therapy. There he can be helped to understand what is going on with him, and what mental mechanisms he can use to slowly switch off from these obsessive thoughts he developed regards gambling practice. It's important that family members and friends stay close and together in this moment, especially during the beginning of the treatment, which is the period of time the patient needs more attention and observation from the closest ones.

If he will remain like this forever or not, it will depend mainly on his self strength and will to change his conduct. If he doesn't cooperate, you can treat him intensively with the best professionals disponible on the market, that he won't show any positive results. What you can do since now is to encourage him to give up on gambling, inspiring him on how he can revert his current life's conditions if he chooses this path. Retrieving his business, house and family, or achieving new ones.
525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 25, 2024, 04:40:29 PM
To commit mistakes when too stressed or tired is a common thing and you are all right by deciding to not gamble when you are exhausted, since gambling is an activity which demands you to be active and attentive to the screen and every configurations of the game you are playing. A single mistake can be fatal, because you are dealing with real money, which once lost, will be lost forever... Therefore, when you are tired, better to engage yourself in semi-passive activities which won't bring any negative outcomes if you fail doing that for some reason.

Prefer to read a book, watch a video, play a videogame, listen to music, or just take some rest at once. Then on the next day, once you are refreshed, you can occupy a part of your daily time with gambling without prejudice to your concentration and focus. Gambling is the kind of hobby you should practice only when you feel inspired to do so. That is, when you know you have enough mental and physical conditions to give total attention to your gaming session. Never gamble when you are tired or when you have important tasks to do simultaneously.
526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Give respect to your teachers and parents on: March 25, 2024, 04:28:38 PM
I have been a professor, and student(s) have promoted violence against me, and the universities have inevitably sided with the student(s) who made the threats of violence against me. The people on this site also side with the student(s) who promote violence against me because the people on this site are bloodthirsty. What is the result of this mess? The result is that people who have college degrees are worth absolutely nothing. They are all wastes of the meat on their bones (unlike a good steak).

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D.
Well, that is a peculiar situation, because in aggression case, at least authorities should have sided with you and prosecuted the students for their acts of violence and moral harassment. Anyway, it doesn't mean every educational institutions will allow this kind of behavior from their students against the professors. There are serious and organized environments where discipline is still endured by the ones ruling the institutions. You are probably talking about the uselessness of a degree due to the negative emotional state you have experienced as professor, although you know it's not useless like that.

Maybe you just should seek for work opportunities in another educational institutions, where employees are respected and valued by the whole community, including students and parents. Due to one bad experience inside a field, we can't judge every other elements on that same field will be negative as well.
527  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 25, 2024, 04:16:57 PM
I assume for responsible gamblers, having children could cause them to gamble less because they can’t afford to gamble like they used to. It all depends on personal circumstances though, if you earn a lot you may be able to continue gambling as you did previously.

Degenerate gamblers who have a problem might not be able to change habits despite having more responsibilities with a dependent.

I agree.I used to gamble much more when I was single and in these last years that I put up family I don't overdo it anymore and am very careful to not spend more than I can afford to because I always think about my child now,as for my wife I don't care much  Grin.

If I had more money of course I would gamble more as gambling for me is one of life greatest pleasures especially when I hit a huge slot multiplier.
Congratulations to you. It means you are a responsible and caring individual who loves and values your family's welfare above everything, even if it means to put your own pleasures aside in order to do so. Your gambling habits changed, but probably you also changed as individual, when compared to who you were before raising a family, and I guess nothing in this world could make you want your previous life back, because when you measure how it is and how it was, you will think to not be possible to live without their love and every other wonderful things they proportionate to you, especially your children, who must be the biggest of your treasures.

Maybe someday, when you acquire more money and larger sources of income, it will be possible for you to gamble more often, as you wish. However, for now, I think the existence and company of your family is more precious and rewarding than any potential huge multipliers a slot machine could guarantee you.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Disable and hide gambling videos on Youtube on: March 25, 2024, 04:04:44 PM
Unfortunately YouTube doesn't offer a specific feature to disable or hide gambling videos entirely, so we need to combine few tips to eliminate everything related to gambling content.
Here on my Youtube account I receive several suggestions of gambling videos every time I log in. I have never tried to hide or avoid seeing those videos suggestions, because for me it doesn't make any difference. I even like to watch some videos from times to times for entertainment purposes, although they seem biased, since the gambler always win huge amounts of money in the end. Turning 3000$, for an example, into 10,000$-20,000$ dollars... It's fun to watch them, anyway.

But I guess for someone who wants to completly avoid such content, they should start clicking on the 3 dots on the right side, below the video, then "I have no interest" button. Consequently, the algorithm will understand you don't want to see that kind of content anymore, so it will appear to you less frequently or totally disappear from the suggestions' board, eventually.

People who don't want to see ads can also use Brave browser when accessing Youtube, instead of purchasing Youtube premium for that purpose.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: March 24, 2024, 10:55:08 PM
Most times, the reason we fine poor person more in a casino hall is because, the rich are mostly based on online gambling with their mobile phones or PC but the poor, not having free access to this things would want to make use of public casinos. It's true if they have spent those money on a cheap altcoin usually meme that give a x5 or 10 it would be been a good start for them rather than playing gamble and looking irresponsible, they both are based on probability, but the reason gambling is more preferred is because of the quick result it gives.
It really depends on the casino you are talking about. There are many land based casinos where only rich gamblers will attend to, because the minimum bets accepted are already too expensive for an average gambler. These are wealthy casinos built and destined to provide services to the richest gamblers, so the environment is luxurious and heavily protected, employees well trained, food and drinks offered are of top quality.

Meanwhile, I guess the poor gamblers are the ones who prefer online casinos. Everyone nowadays has a smartphone and internet connection is available everywhere. Furthermore, these online apps accept minimum deposits from 1$ on or so, directly from and to the account of the individual. I've already seen many humble youngs who work for cheap wages gambling on such apps during their free time with very low sums of money, expecting to grow it into something considerable, maybe to purchase a good they were looking for since a long time, or to proportionate something for their girlfriends.

Proportionally to the total income of each of them, these poor gamblers are risking much more than the rich ones, and that is a big issue in my opinion, because it will prejudice the thriving potential of these individuals on long run, if they aren't lucky enough to hit some nice winnings. For the rich ones, on the other hand, it won't make difference at all, since they have abundant sources of income to replenish the amounts spent with gambling each new month.
530  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A new Russian-Finnish war is coming on: March 24, 2024, 10:40:58 PM
I think people are still naive regards Russia. They think Russia is going to stop and get satisfied once they finish in Ukraine. What does prevent Russia from going further on northern territories and eastern Europe? Europeans are underestimating a real threat... Moreover, Putin isn't alone. He has his axis of friendly countries who may join Russia anytime formally or just keep supporting it informally on the backgrounds. To neglect the ambitions and real potential of damage Russia has isn't a smart strategy... The same mistake Europe commited with Hitler, they are commiting now with Putin by not seeing the despot as an imminent threat since a long time before his strike.

Possibly, Europeans are attempting to avoid escalating a war the maximum they can for now, and in order to do so they ignore the real intentions of the adversaries and judge themselves superior and unbeatable in a hypothetical war scenario, hoping the axis to think twice before launching an offensive.

Finland is already a russian target, as we have been watching on the news and past events. They can keep it as a target only, start a fake offensive against it to mislead NATO's attention from a territory they may be really interested in conquering, or put their efforts in a real war against the country.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dangerous insights on bitcoin Investor on: March 24, 2024, 10:01:10 PM
There is clearly a total lack of communication between the family members to reach this extreme measure which only embarrassed the young man for nothing after all. Probably the parents thought their son was engaged in online frauds or any other criminal activities, so they called the police to investigate what he was really doing on the internet for money. I won't say anything about the parents, because even though they may be ignorant, they may also have high moral standards, so if their son was doing something wrong, they would still decide for what is morally right, not going for a blind defense of their offspring.

That is a good alert for young people who are boasting large sums of money to their families without giving them convincing explanations on how they are making this income on the internet. Older people are likely to think youngs are indeed doing something forbidden, because for them it's hard to understand how the internet (something abstract) can generate money like that, as older people had to work hard and a lot to make minimum income on their early days, therefore this new concept of source of income just doesn't fit on their heads.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 24, 2024, 07:41:40 PM
Can any one do this or was it a foolish move?
I wouldn't do like your friend, because it's widely said to not put all your eggs on the same basket. And in your friend's case, he did it with most chances against him, just to place a bet on the club he is a fan. Luckly this time it ended well for him, and he made big profit from his bet, however it could have happened the opposite, and if he continues placing similar bets futurely, at some point he will start facing losses on long run.

On the scenario he is sticking to his gambling budget exclusively, it's not really a big issue if he is losing money or not. Although it can be a better idea to diversify the portfolio among more different bets, while adopting another criteria of which teams and players to pick besides betting only on the club of his heart.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 24, 2024, 04:28:25 PM
-snip-

The most annoying part of the story that OP narrated is the lack of empathy or sympathy for the young chap who lost his life. Adin Ross and his team failed to know that the deceased might have become addicted by visiting his channel. He also failed to know that the youth who took his own life has friends and family members who are mourning the loss of a loved one. This is a clear indication that people only care about money and nothing else.

It's not that they don't know about this, but they just don't want to know or care about it. All they think about is content, money and popularity, they don't care whether their audience is addicted or not, the most important thing is how they can get money from the KICK platform, casino and donations. There are a lot of streamers like this on KICK and it's disgusting to see them keep laughing and not caring about this issue. And unfortunately, they hide behind the words "freedom". That's really disgusting.
The streamer didn't have any solidarity for the fan who suicided because for him, it meant only one less view for his videos... This is how these influencers see their publics: as numbers, exclusively!

Numbers which raise them to the pantheon of most popular internet's celebrities, bringing fame, money and the false sense of being a demigod walking over the Earth. They do anything to maintain their status, never caring at all for the people who really maintain them on the throne of dust they don't want to be vanished, because on the influencers' subverted mind, they belong to a superior category of human beings.

And unfortunatelly they are where they are only because there is a massive number of people who follow these guys and treat them as their lords, including the man who suicided... After all, if the audience were doing something productive with their lives, streamers like Adin Ross would also have to do something productive in his own life for a living, instead of foolishing and deceiving people on the internet!
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still truly achieve anonymous gambling in crypto? on: March 24, 2024, 03:34:27 PM
What do you think about this one, where is are we heading? And can we still consider crypto casino different from fiat casino?
We are heading towards centralization more and more each new day in crypto universe. I guess it's inevitable, since we live in countries ruled by centralized governments through regulations which we are forced to follow in order to not be punished by local authorities. These regulators have the final word, and unfortunatelly there is nothing citizens can do, besides finding gaps on such regulations, which are getting less and less, as regulations advance, cornering crypto enthusiasts on every niches of the industry.

However, you can still gamble anonymously, if you play at casinos which don't enforce KYC process. There are few of them, but it's still possible, anyway. I don't know for how long they are going to be disponible yet, so enjoy this category of casino while you can! I believe in the future crypto developers will find alternative ways to avoid regulations over the industry, including the requirement of revealing identity, so in every cases there is still hope anonymity will remain a possibility for the enthusiasts of privacy.
535  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: March 23, 2024, 07:52:30 PM
I don't think that the decision to end the FJ signature campaign and the Freebitcoin campaign suspension is somehow related to the trend on the market. There are other reasons, and we should pay attention to why TheQuin has not been very active on the forum in recent months. I guess there is probably something going on inside Freebitcoin.
The issue is that we don't have access to anyone inside freebitco.in's team to ask for answers... It would be great if there were a veteran member and user of freebitco.in on this forum who had direct access to the owner of the platform, wetsuit, so we could finally understand and take notice of what is going on, that is, why their support don't come in public anymore to talk to their community. Linking it to the fact the signature campaign was paused due to the wallet not being replenished, just increases the suspicions and doubts of users about what the future holds for freebitco.in platform.

I know there are veteran users who access this thread and read the news from times to times. Maybe they could try looking for answers and bringing them here to enlight everyone on this matter.
536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 23, 2024, 07:40:51 PM
Considering we still didn't reach the halving, and that Bitcoin suffered a correction in price recently, I think it's still in time to buy Bitcoin in order to prepare yourself for the next pump in price, which is likely to push Bitcoin to a new ATH before the end of this cycle of bullish run. I would just be careful to not wait for too long to finally buy your chunk of Bitcoin, because the longer you wait, higher are the risks you purchase it too close to the maximum price, what means you would have to wait a long period of time until seeing your investments in profit again, like those people who bought Bitcoin in 2021 for 69,000$ and were able to profit only this year, when the price crossed the 70,000$ mark.

It was almost 3 years on holding more to profit little money, while other investors who bought earlier were able to make huge profit. Therefore, don't procrastinate. Don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today, especially considering the unique moment in history we are living these days. Cycles like the current one aren't likely to keep repeating themselves forever and ever. The tendency is that Bitcoin's price gets less volatile in the future, what means profititability's potential also tends to decrease.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your take? on: March 23, 2024, 07:28:34 PM
what is your take on this kind of gambling, risking bigger money on some low odds with a small potential win and still the possibility of your pick to win is not even certain.
That is not a good idea. If you win, you are going to make just slight profit over your bet size, like 10% or so, but if you lose, 100% of your bet is gone... On long term I don't see this strategy bearing fruits, because for each loss suffered, you have to win the next 10 bets in order to recover your money, considering you aren't going to use a Martingale method or similars which increase bets progressively on sequential losses.

Many years ago I thought sports betting was simple, and that all I had to do was to bet on the favorite (with low odds) in order to make safe profit, and then increase my bankroll slowly, but consistently along the time. Then I joined an online platform which guaranteed free tokens for gamblers to start playing from zero, without having to put money from their pockets on it initially. So I started betting on Tennis' matches, going for the low odds like 1.1. However, I was still losing more often than winning, what seemed really strange and unbelievable to me back then.

Thankfully, I wasn't spending real money on it, but it was still annoying to see bad results when the chances were mostly by my side...
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can bring positivity and light into people's lives on: March 23, 2024, 06:45:49 PM
these are positive aspects but most of these are not exclusive to gambling.
I believe that it is important not to highlight these aspects exclusively because we risk oversimplifying this topic.
There is risk, there is study, there is time involved. if it is done with the aim of not losing money it is a demanding activity.
In the end, gambling will be positive or not depending on the approach the individual takes towards it. Gambling can be totally benefical, what means the gambler can have his life impacted by the points OP mentioned, since he plays responsively, through pre-determined rules and guidelines to be followed along the gambling session and never chasing losses when facing long loss streaks, or neglecting essential aspects of his routine in order to gamble.

It's possible to have a functional life still being a gambler. It's even possible to make the difference in other people's lives through gambling, as OP stated the organized charity tournaments to collect funds for those in need. The topic is really sensible, as you said, but we can still find pros on it, against the overwhelming negative propaganda we are bombarded daily regards gambling practice.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 03:19:29 PM
But then, this got me wondering why a full grown person will gamble until he or she has no money left in his or her bank account, and no cash at hand, I personally have on several occasions gambled away every single cash I had at hand, but I always had some money in the bank to fall back on, together with my family.
People who gamble until the last penny are compulsive gamblers who live the moment and don't think about long term consequences. This kind of mindset actually prejudices these gamblers on every aspects of their lives, going much further than financial matters. They are called losers because they don't make progress with their finances, relationships, careers and personal development. These people have difficulties keeping promises, following routines and achieving long term goals. They are too confusing and unstable, unfortunatelly, and those around them like family, friends and lovers tend to suffer a lot for the lack of commitment these individuals display.

Since you lent money to your friend once, you can expect he will come back for more, because you are probably one of the few contacts he has which did so... I suggest you not doing this anymore, because you are simply fueling his addiction. If you want to help, maybe you could lend money to his family, so they can pay their bills and purchase food, but don't give money to him directly.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friends engaging on P2P gambling insights grudges amongst themselves on: March 22, 2024, 08:42:58 PM
I came across friends fighting throwing words at each other one was expressing his disappointments at his other friend while the other was mocking at him.
It was discovered that the one mocking the other asked the other one to step on let them gamble on a P2P and on the process the one being mocked lost all his funds for the other guy. And he has been asking the guy that won the crown to return him return about 30% out of the $190 lost but the other guy told him that there is no return and no compensations in the gamble so if he must give him back some returns it would be based on his own will.
First of all, the gambler in loss shouldn't have listened to the mockery of his "friend". People don't have to accept challenges imposed by others, because they don't have to prove anything to people around. That was the first big mistake of him, and I hope he learns a lesson with this story in order to not act impulsively provoked by others in the future never again. The second mistake was to demand the money lost back. It was a bet, and he decided to risk his money. As consequence he lost it and should have gone away with empty pockets, but with his dignity intact.

Guess what, after all he ended up returning $10 to his friend.
So I ask, did the friend do well in returning $10 to his friend or the returned $10 was not enough?
Was the 10$ cashback another mockery of him towards his friend? Because that is how it sounds like...

To me, in general, that seems wickedness of gambling between friends on a P2P because such friends are not worthy to be trusted considering the sentiments in playing to win.
I would say that is a daylight extortions amongst each others.
If you spot a friend of yours isn't prepared to deal with losses as consequences of bets, then don't gamble against him. Choose carefully who are the friends you can gamble P2P. There must be one person or another to play P2P who will accept the defeat without further arguing and contentions.
