Hodling can give you good profit but not in all cases, meaning not all the coin you hodl. Before hodling, you can check if the community is active and this is important. If the coin is in cmc, you can easily check there to know the direction that it is and how it can grow in the future. You have to study a coin before investing in it. I have invested blindly too and seeing price slump painfully.
Personally, I've benefitted more from holding than day trading, but that's when things were still going smoothly in crypto, I mean when x100 was possible and not now. Presently before holding any coin, you need to be extraordinarily careful, since most will end up with regrets. Recently I tried holding NPXS and DENT and I've lost 700$+ as at now. Sometimes it takes grace to make profit, and not how well you did research.

Volatile prices sometimes make us confident, even more so when the price of the coins we invest rises high. sometimes some people don't want to sell their assets and wait for a higher price. You might feel it when you have a coin like that. but I agree, that there is no need to wait long when you have benefited from it. sometimes people regret not selling their assets when prices are high, and regret when prices have dropped dramatically.
people constantly regret. I think that they should understand what they did wrong. They were too greedy or just bought the wrong coin. if they thought about how to avoid mistakes the next time, they would complain less Investing have to wait long to me, i belief thats the definition of investment, some people who knew nothing much about crypto that rushed in when bull run was alive and kicking always thinks thats the perfect time to join, they forget that bullrun season is for those who are already around since bear market and have get their hands on good coins To be candid long term investment is cool, but most people get caught up when coin prices turn shitty. The truth is, taking profit is key. For instance, when holding 10 NEO in the past, and price got to 200$, I sold 7 and held 3 just in case the price goes up more. Fortunately for me, the reverse happened and I have already taken profit and still hoping for the price to soar in future. Holding coins for long term is OK, but when price soars, sell and wait for dip, then buy more if you believe in the project.

identifying the team based on experience in managing previous projects, then making sure Whitepapper is real or not, a good team always updates the development of projects in each of their channels such as social media, and also the team does not distinguish between where investors are and also where prize hunters are. because I was once offended in the Telegram channel by questioning the development of the project at that time ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Some fake team members might use a powerful strategy which will make it very difficult for investors to find out they are fake. For instance, if they do real-time videos, keep social channels very active, etc just hiding behind the mask, it won't be easy to know they are not real. A fake team for me implies the team is not ready to put in funds gotten from token sale in project development, and not how active they are. I think it's high time we got this straight, if we go by how great the white paper is for instance, it won't be easy to detect a fake team.

Quit underestimating wallets and figure out how your wallets works either its ETH erc20 based wallets or multi walllets, you lose your private keys or recovery seeds you lose your coins and tokens,I was in a gathering on message when somebody posted his private key guaranteeing he didn't get an airdrop tokens,I wonder what may have transpired as of now,its like some still don't have the foggiest idea how genuine there wallets recovery seeds and private keys are, quit playing with wallet private keys and take them more serious like you doing with your bank account.
That's the reason why I created a crypto class back in 2017 to coach newbies. Nobody is above mistakes anyway, but posting private key in public just to proof he didn't receive tokens is a huge mistake. I think basic things to learn in crypto aside "what is cryptocurrency and blockchain" should be "how to secure your crypto assets". Let's always try to assist newbies to avoid regrettable mistakes.

Because they still have big money to run their business and of course many investors are still supporting that fallen coin. Well, it wont last longer because a more deserving coin will replace their position until it become a total shitcoin. They will not die easily mate, they will continue to manipulate their coin to survive.
Reading through the thread, this is the best straight forward reply to the question asked on this thread (at your first sentence). Talking about a more deserving coin replacing XRP, are you referring to LIBRA? if yes, Libra's launch still remains a probability because scaling through regulatory policies won't be easy.

It is almost impossible to believe that after developing a good project which might likely succeed because of the product, some so-called developers and teams will still go ahead and list in a shit exchange all in the name of reducing the listing fund or all in the name of no fund to list in the big exchange, if you cannot afford good exchange, why not continue with the development of the project to be able to attract the right investors, why rush to a shit exchange. So many projects that could have succeeded have been buried by shit exchange, and if you care to know, you are the reason why we still have shit exchange because the owners of shit exchange knew that some daft developers and team will surely come and list their projects. Why will someone prepare a good meal and then decide to keep it in a cabinet full of cockroaches? Wake up.
It's always a sad time for investors after investing in a project with mind-blowing features, and successful token sale, ends up listing on shitty exchanges. Well, some team members may have in mind to list on bigger exchanges with time but that's a terrible approach. I'm not saying they should do more than their listing budget, but at least they should list on a reputable exchange provided they raised enough funds during token sale. I won't blame projects which barely hit softcap anyway, since it will be clearly funding issues.

In this kind of bad altcoin market i am still surprised that some new projects are giving out 50% price tag for their tokens, this is a project killer if you ask me, this move is only good if altcoin season is out and surging, 50percent is way too much in this kind of market we are in presently, tell me i'm wrong
I believe you mean 50% bonus when one invest in token sale right? If so, then some just do this as a marketing strategy. For example, if they intend to sell the token at 1$ per token originally, they can say token price is 1.5$ plus 50% discount. This means even if one invests at 1.5$ per token with the bonus, it's still same as their original plan. Good tokenomics is what I look out for, and not just the bonus given.

Honestly most of the altcoins do not worth our investment when we look deep into the projects, but this doesn't mean there are no good altcoins to hold for long term. Ethereum for instance is one altcoin I believe greatly in the project vision. Some tokens in my wallet, after holding for long, the price went down to negligible values and some are even extinct. Bottom line is, holding altcoins isn't bad entirely but be careful with what you hold for long term to avoid regrets.

I think this is not possible for crypto will go to zero because larger investors traders people still alive so don't be upset. Actually people more confused when the market going to red dump but smart people never angry about it. Even smart people always want to enjoy when the market take dump situation.
My thoughts exactly, when the market is red during bear market, people start bringing up postulation as to what's the fate of crypto. I do think crypto has a brighter future although adoption will take years to come since there are so many drawbacks. In essence, crypto can't go to zero since more and more people get to know about crypto on daily basis, hence more crypto users.

The confusing part about the launch of ETH 2.0 is what happens to tokens already built on the current ETHEREUM blockchain. Do we have to swap ERC20 tokens for example or does the upgrade not affect it? These are some questions Ethereum foundation team needs to clarify. So there is no definite date for ETH 2.0 launch right, we have no option than to keep waiting. I hope the switch to POS Worth it.

This post is very insightful. Many investors fall prey of this, some projects fake their ICO progress bar for sales, just to get more investors. I've seen a few cases which immediately they kicked off token sales, the bar was already around the middle, giving false claims of hitting softcap already. Well, progress bar shouldn't be that yardstick to ascertain whether it's worth investing in an ICO or not.

Stellar Lumen remains one of my best picks talking about project development. The drop in price recently doesn't mean the developers are abandoning the project or whatever, probably you may not understand how huge that project is. Moreover, XLM didn't drop so badly in price, it's a moderate correction.

Very insightful post, I really like the man's choice of words when he wrote "I buy lottery tickets so I can dream". I understand gambling is all about trying your luck but sometimes it's favorable, but don't make it a habit. Also never rely entirely on gambling as source of income.

Making a choice here won't be so easy because it depends also on the game you are betting on. Normally below 2.0 odds will be safer and above 2.0 odds will involve more risk comparatively, but know what works best for you and also understand sportsbetting doesn't have any particular formula.

Telegram is home for scammers, so talking about the guy who claimed he owns a gambling site and blocked you is not new. Well, the good thing is you didn't fall for his scam. Always use verified gambling sites.

I thought the PETRO coin has already been forgotten until I saw this post. I don't really think it will be possible for Venezuela to have Petro at national level, since many powerful nations like USA are against it. Well, let's see how it goes. If it works out well, then it's a boost for crypto.

It's never a good idea in my own opinion to dump coins with prospect at very cheap prices during dip, patience is golden in this situation. Every good coin has its own day to rise in price especially with a good news/update. I only dump at low rates when I lose confidence in the project or when there is exit scam cases. Aside that, I am usually patient because it's essential in this space.

|
|
I won't say bear market is entirely good because some people lose patience and sell cheap, but I will say it's an opportunity for the real crypto enthusiasts to accumulate their favorite coins at low prices. Both the bear market and bull run classified crypto as a volatile asset, hence we keep seeing a repeated cycle of bear and later bull market.
