521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum To The Moon? on: June 05, 2017, 02:29:58 PM
there are still two phases to go, I definitely believe Ethereum will go to the moon Smiley Perhaps $1,000 this year

about which "two phase" are you talking???
can you elaborate it plz?
I really hate forecast analysis like "Perhaps $1,000 this year" without any argue
sorry...
but i'm honest.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Resources for learning on: June 05, 2017, 02:25:32 PM
Hello everyone!
I'm yet another newbie coming to ask questions on cryptocurrency mining (or, actually, some more general questions).

I'm in the process of trying to mine ethereum + decred on the hardware I already have, so I find myself experimenting a bit, trying new miners, new pools, wallets, etc. and I'm trying to read this forum and other sources as much as I can.

What I'd like to ask, is for some comprehensive guides / resources on how to effectively use the tools needed for this task, as in how to use command line miners, or gui miners, how to adequately protect / store / organise passwords, accounts (for pools and/or wallets), passphrases and everything else.

I understand there are tons of "good practice" behaviours when it comes to security, so this might be a big question, but if there was some resources out there and it was possible to put them together, it would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

from my experience in mining / learn about bitcoin and alt coins... the only way it's to Google a lots....
querying forum...
follow the people who have had, your currently problem before, and he was able to fix it
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: June 05, 2017, 11:25:44 AM
i dont what to risk to be stopped with all 13 cards!
something wrong could even happened...
if you have 1 rig with 12 gpu, you loss all your possible gains...
if you have 2 rigs, 6 GPU + 6 GPU, you lost "JUST" 50%, if ones has stopped!!!
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What your favorite altcoin on: June 05, 2017, 11:20:43 AM

525  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is exhaust ventilation needed to cool rigs? Even if there is Air-con? on: June 05, 2017, 10:03:23 AM
This individual says "Without exhaust ventilation in the room, an aircon will be useless in trying to cool our rigs"

https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7719/to-use-ac-or-not
What does he mean by that??

I thought the aircon will also get rid of the hot air from the GPU?

Any experts know if he right or wrong?

Also is this true?

As probably all have and will say - AC is useless for this purpose

Need air movement

Fresh (cool) air should be drawn in to your mining room and stale (hot) air should be sucked out

This principle can be displayed by opening a window/door on either side of your house and let the wind do the work (depends if your location is windy enough).

If there is a huge amount of heat being generated then add large fans to enact the above

Found here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1834513.0

why instead to buy expensive aircon you run your miners slower?
just do an easy undervolt to get:
PRO
1) less consume
2) less temperature
3) less noise

CONS
1) Less gains: but i think you can reach a good compromise

and furthermore, you need this compromise, just for the summer... for the other 8 months you can run your miners at full throttle
526  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: my long story with Bitmain and bitmainwarranty and S9 on: June 05, 2017, 09:54:05 AM
Try hosting at Giga Watt they do on site repairs for all Bitmain miners, no shipping back to China!

this is a real good tip!!!
maybe do you know where are Giga Watt farm placed??

527  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Paper wallet sweep security on: June 05, 2017, 09:51:17 AM
Even a Chromebook?

i think you use your chromebook to navigate the internet right???
and chromeboock ha an android derivate OS.
If so, it is connected to the internet, and if you store private key on it, you run some risk.
528  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Exchanges create a wallet per user ? Or a single wallet to all ? on: June 05, 2017, 09:47:29 AM
Hello,

I and a friend are trying to develop an exchange, at last to learn how it works.
At moment, we are using bitcoinjs-lib.

1) An exchange creates a wallet per user ? Or does it have a single wallet which makes all transactions ?
2) If the exchange keeps a wallet per user, how can it protect the user's private key in case  of unauthorised access in database ? Crypt and decrypt it with user's password is an option, but it implies in ask for password every transaction.

Regards,

A singular wallet can collect all the addresses do you need...
but i think, who Exchange, have hot and cold wallets to protect users funds...
Sure, not one for each users

531  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Il mio primo lingotto d'oro con bitcointalk on: June 05, 2017, 08:36:21 AM

Actually, I am listing them in multiple places. I also discovered one of them had a blacklisted imei so I am dealing with the issue. How exactly do you scam using escrow anyways? Lol

if someone is IMEI black listed it mean all are stolen stuff.
i think is not good to buy this stuff to avoid legal matters!!!
i go away!!!
anyway good luck!

537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ANtivirus Software and GCN wallet for windows. on: June 02, 2017, 06:39:09 PM
Hi...When i download the GCN.zip wallet for Windows  avast antivirus says "threat detected" and displays  warning..

Object:http://www.gcoin.us/images/gcn.ziplgcn-window.....
threat blocked : Infection : Win3:Malware-gen

Is there a problem with avast or the GCN wallet ??

i think is a false positive!
try to check info on Google.
The file have a MD5 signature?
do you download it from a secure source?
if yes... there are high probability that it is a fals epositive
538  Local / Alt-Currencies (Italiano) / Re: Monete minabili con hard disk on: June 02, 2017, 06:37:31 PM
ma i siacoin non mi sembra vengano minati con l'hard disk o sbaglio ? io li mino con la gpu
I siacoin si possono minare con la gpu, ma è possibile ottenerli anche offrendo hosting con lo spazio libero sull'hard disk.

hai fatto qualche prova?
