521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Continuity of Power and Influence of the Banks and the Governments on: June 24, 2018, 12:36:50 AM
No wonder why crypto first thrived in the underground--in the deep web for instance--
before it came out into the open and eventually into the mainstream arena.

i disagree mainly because it wasn't that big but the media made a big deal out of it like they always do with these small stories. but also because it is harder for a shop that is legit to accept bitcoin specially in countries that don't see bitcoin as a currency, they have to jump through hoops  even if they wanted to add bitcoin so they think twice and that means slower adoption but in anywhere that is not regulated like the deep web you can do anything you want.

You have some nice points. Perhaps the media indeed made a mountain out of a mole hill for Bitcoin and this whole cryptocurrency thing but it came a little late. By the time the media turned its attention to Bitcoin, it already showed some great potential, turning from being almost worthless to a few dollars in value. That was already a big deal. You are right that shops did not accept Bitcoin at the start. That would be absurd for them since only a very small percentage of people know about it. Even almost a decade from its beginning, shops accepting Bitcoin are still very few. But even so, we have seen an enormous growth of the value of Bitcoin.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and ALTS a fools paradise on: June 23, 2018, 06:13:18 AM
Without big investors there is no future!

While investors are indeed very important for Bitcoin and altcoins, especially for its sustained growth, I don't think investors are the only future now for both Bitcoin and altcoins. So far, we have seen how cryptocurrency has grown so huge with only a very small population in the world supporting. Do you think that cryptocurrency will die simply because the larger population is not anymore interested to invest? Of course not. The success of crypto right now is already fantastic.
523  Other / Archival / Re: Why to Invest in ICO? on: June 22, 2018, 08:33:38 AM
Why people invest in ICO when it is risky and these days most of the coins are dropping. Do you think ICOs are going to survive for a long time?

ICOs will last for a longer time. But, just like the entire cryptocurrency market, the ICO market will always have its high and low time, just like the bearish and bullish seasons of the cryptocurrency market. And perhaps there is a direct relationship between the crypto market and the ICO market. If the crypto market is generally dumping, most probably the ICO market will also have a hard time. But all this is temporary. ICO investment is risky yet profitable if done right.
524  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is technical analysis useful? on: June 22, 2018, 07:53:25 AM
Do you believe in the reliability of information obtained by technical analysis on crypto-currency market?

Yes, I do believe that information gathered from technical analysis are reliable. But make no mistake, I do not mean to say that they are accurate. They are not. They are good only to some extent but not to the point that they are 100% bull's eye. That will not happen, never. Technical analyses are as good as an educated and well-analysed guess. Either way, it is still a guess. The point is that there is higher probability with an educated guess than those that are simply bare guess.
525  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin bubble is broken or not on: June 22, 2018, 04:31:21 AM
The Bitcoin bubble is neither intact nor broken because in the first place there is no such thing as Bitcoin bubble. Bitcoin is not an invention that suddenly came out of nowhere, or of the whims and imagination of some geek and hackers. It is a truly revolutionary innovation that will somehow give the people the freedom and the breath of fresh air that they badly need for a long time. The banks are suffocating us since their existence.
526  Economy / Speculation / Re: BIG HOPE FOR BITCOIN on: June 21, 2018, 08:56:07 AM
Bitcoin is a crypto currency, all currencies make upward and downward trends from time to time. Bitcoin is and other Crypto currencies are taking over the world economy. See every dip as an opportunity to buy more.
Invest now and smile at moon

The fact is that Bitcoin remains strong, very strong. There is no way it will just die away. Despite the bear market that affected so much the prices of the cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin, I am still seeing a very huge growth of Bitcoin in the years to come. In fact, I am convinced that it will only take a single yet solid bull run for a huge population of the world to finally start investing in Bitcoin. With a down market, it is hard for those doubters to start investing.
527  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is worth buying coins under $1? on: June 21, 2018, 08:14:59 AM
What's your opinion on buying new emerging coins that are not yet on top and cost less than 1 dollar?
How do you decide whether they have potential to grow or not?

Your decision should not come from the price of the coin. It should come from the credentials of the coin. There are so many coins in the market that are less than $1. That does not mean that if we invest in these coins, we are somehow assured of a good return after some time. Instead of looking at the price, look at the products of the project and its partnerships as well as the fulfillment of the roadmap. The price does not indicate reliability.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme? on: June 21, 2018, 07:13:13 AM
I had arguments  with my friends  who are always  tagging  bitcoin with negativity. Today, we argued  and I educated them on bitcoin and Ponzi scheme.  To me Ponzi scheme  is when developers takes  money from new entrance to pay early birds, rinse and repeat until they raise enough and vanish. But bitcoin  is not like that.  Do you think I am right?

Your friends really need to read more or do more research as to the basic information about Bitcoin. A Ponzi scheme is too far different from Bitcoin. The fact that Bitcoin is being traded means that its value is dependent on the changing demands of the market. You are right with your explanation with a Ponzi scheme. The early entrants are given dividends or profit that is taken from the money of the new entrants. In other words, there is really no sound economics behind.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest now or wait? on: June 19, 2018, 06:14:35 AM
Hey guys, what do you think, should i invest now or wait? Market is in the red zone, so it is quite risky to invest now, want to hear your opinion.

Mate, on the contrary, it is riskier when you invest during the green zone, that could mean that the correction is nearer. And aside from that, entering during the green market means you will be buying your favorite coins at an expensive price. To illustrate it more vividly, your $20,000 might only give you a single BTC. Unlike when the market is red, your $20,000 could give you more than 3 Bitcoins. Now, that's a big deal already.
530  Economy / Economics / Re: War on cryptocurrency! on: June 19, 2018, 05:26:09 AM
Governments of many countries are practically declaring war on cryptocurrencies.
Why is that?

The war has been going on for a while. It was not clearly noticed before because the strength of cryptocurrency was still developing and therefore the antagonistic treatment of the governments was not that strong either. But ever since the cryptocurrencies have gained so much following from individuals and companies across the world, the governments are also stepping up their attacks and attempts to control.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long time holding, is it a smart thing to do? on: June 18, 2018, 04:46:35 AM
Long time holding is a smart thing to do as far as crypto currency is concern. I have realize that, investors try to play smart in the crypto business in that, they begin to dump most tokens to cause a decline in token prices. This will in turn pave way for them to buy more tokens in other for them to hold for long and sell at higher prices when token values shoot up. In spite of this, is long term holding a smart thing to do as a bounty hunter and why?

Here is my two cents. Bounty tokens are earned relatively easily. For a signature campaign participant, for example, you are only asked to make 10-15 constructive posts weekly. For a social media campaign participant, on the other hand, the tasks only involve tweeting, retweeting, liking, etc. Those are very easy tasks. What I mean to say is that you are only risking a little if you choose to hodl your bounty tokens long term. And the reward if ever they multiply their values is really a huge wealth.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you join ICOs that requires KYC? on: June 17, 2018, 03:23:43 AM
Do any of you participate in ICOs that requires KYC (Know your Customer). We actually experienced this one on exchanges but how about in partipating in ICOs or just even in airdrop that requires KYC.

I think it depends as for me as they are many scams as well just getting your information. In some instances, we can be blind sometimes, mkay? I really do not join airdrops if it requires too needy to get your personal information.

I believe some people are not cautious as long as they can join airdrops. How about you? What are your thoughts about KYC in ICOS?

First of all, I don't even join airdrops today. I don't like the way the quality of airdrop has gone down too low. If the airdrop is asking too much personal information, avoid it. As regards KYC, it does not matter that much to me especially if the particular ICO I am interested to invest in looks really promising. I don't mind undergoing the necessary KYC requirements for as long as the project I am participating is very good.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bounty not an investment? on: June 17, 2018, 02:43:43 AM
I have seen a lot of threads here asking about whether people will invest in a coin or do bounty. Its high time we all understood that, investment is not only about money. To me, any effort put into something to make it a reality can be regarded as investment. People who buy coins invest with their monies whiles those who participate in bounties also invest with their time and energy. Money is a replaceable resource but time can never replaced. To me, bounty hunters are also investors. What do you think?

You are right, mate. Strictly speaking, investment is highly denoted by monetary value. But if we look at it broadly, investment also means risking your time and effort for something you believe is going to pay you well. That is exactly what we do when we get involved in various campaigns here. That is why I don't like it, even irritated, when the bounty participants are treated shabbily because they are "only" bounty hunters. They are not! They are marketing agents, promoters, and foot soldiers for projects to become successful.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What should I buy in this dip on: June 17, 2018, 01:59:38 AM
I can't resist a good sale and I'm thinking of buying 3-5 alts in this dip. Tell me what you think:

Strengthen my position in NEO / EOS / ETH

OR

Buy into some alts I've been watching for a while: PRL / KMD / ZIL / SIA / (add your coin here)

Any and all suggestions welcome!

For me, the best buy during this hard dip are those coins that have already reached higher all time high records. In other words, choose those solid coins that incurred the biggest loss, and yet you are very confident will rise back. There is a bigger profit with this strategy. For sure, these coins will go back to their all time high records and break them. Once it happens, you have already made a good wealth out of this severe dip. The coins you've mentioned are good options as well.
535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WARREN BUFFET says Bitcoin won't end well on: June 16, 2018, 03:50:33 AM
What is your  opinion as per  Warren buffet statement, he is a wealthy giant globally he told CNBC on Wednesday the recent craze over bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies won't end well. "In terms of cryptocurrencies, generally, I can say with almost certainty that they will come to a bad ending,"
Am really scared hope the end is not near. I want to hear from knowledgeable individual what the future holds.

Warren Buffet has his own set of preferences in terms of investment options. It so happened that cryptocurrency or Bitcoin is not to his liking. But that does not mean at all that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is not anymore worth investing. That is not like that. It does not mean that since a credible investor is not in favor of it, it is not anymore a favorable investment. Why don't you try to listen to what other billionaires have to say about Bitcoin or crypto?
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you truly believe in cryptocurrency on: June 16, 2018, 02:51:11 AM
Seems like most people just want to become super rich in a short period of time.
If you don't believe in this new technology, and just want to earn quick money, I think you will probably not achieve what you want.
All I want to say is be patient, live your life, and don't get too emotional by all the negative news/FUD. Yes, crypto might be ended in a really bad way and you lose most/all your money. But if you truly believe in the new technology, just invest the projects you like the most and hold until it gets mature and returns.

If you truly believe in the projects you are investing, use their respective coins the way they are designed. Do not just hodl or trade them. Cryptocurrencies are not made to be traded. Yes, they are being traded but it is not the real objective of the coins. I have yet to read a whitepaper in which it is clearly stated that one of their primary goals or objectives for their coins is for it to be traded. Cryptocurrencies have specific functions.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should now sell coin or not on: June 16, 2018, 02:00:31 AM
you guys give me an idea with me keeping my XLM free I'm puzzled Huh Huh Huh Huh

I cannot give you a definite answer because I don't know how much did you buy your XLM. If you bought it last year when the price was still cheap and you already made gains, you can choose to sell them. But if you bought them earlier this year, then I guess you are still at a loss or break even at most. If that is the case with your XLM, I suggest that you hodl it instead. Selling during a red market is not a good decision.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why red again. It should slowly turn green on: June 15, 2018, 02:17:20 PM

a lot of people wrote in the beginning of may it will be a good month. now the end of may and everything is red again. From which month can we expect a week of green?

Ah, do not easily believe to what people wrote or said. More often than not, they are wrong. The market of cryptocurrency is always unpredictable. Even if the whole community says there is a bear season coming, if the market is really destined to rise statistically, it will definitely rise. And even if the people will say that the bull season is happening, if the real scenario within the market is towards going down, it will go down.
539  Other / Archival / Re: Do you believe Crypto Currency is changing the world? on: June 14, 2018, 03:16:58 AM
Do you believe Crypto Currency is changing the world?

Why do think so?
What changes crypto made?

It is changing the world and it will do more changes to it. The world is ushered into the digital age by cryptocurrency. As the world is getting more and more technologically dependent, cryptocurrency came into the setting and provided the people a perfect way to do transactions using the blockchain technology. Cryptocurrency made the transactions faster and hassle-free. It breaks borders that limit the flow of fiat. With cryptocurrency, the world is a single community.
540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Continuity of Power and Influence of the Banks and the Governments on: June 12, 2018, 01:35:19 PM
We somehow give a connotation that cryptocurrency is a way out of the influential and powerful ways of the banks and the governments. No wonder why crypto first thrived in the underground--in the deep web for instance--
before it came out into the open and eventually into the mainstream arena.

However, we noticed that the banks and the governments are now getting into the crypto game. There are news that certain banks around the world are opening up for crypto already. And the governments are also accepting yet effectively regulating crypto at the same time, thus controlling it in some significant ways.

Do you guys think that the with the powerful banks and the governments joining in the crypto development, its revolutionary system will somehow get pulled towards the old kind of system we have right now?

I need your wide perspective on this please. Thank you.
Banks are entering only now. Crypto was never out of influential and powerful ways. The exchanges have ruined people's lives. There has been intervention from authorities from time to time. Now that banks are eventually entering the arena, things would get out of hand. We will have to again deal with the KYC annoying crap. Some exchanges are even asking proof of funds. For CRYPTO. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How will one possibly provide proof of funds from monero? The world will stop getting fucked up. Wish dictatorship was still a thing. Rather get yourself crucified than losing your damn privacy.

This is exactly what I meant to say when I asked the question of whether the revolutionary system of cryptocurrency is being dragged toward the old system that we have right now that is primarily controlled by the banks and the governments.

This KYC thing as well as the proof of funds requirements are not features of the new system of cryptocurrency. These are basically against anonymity and protection of personal identities which are being pushed by the crypto system. And yet crypto seems to become helpless and eventually implemented such old system features.
They aren't exactly against anonymity. They are against scams, illegal activities etc. There is nothing much a single person can do. Probably use TOR in the online world to be anonymous and keep avoiding exchanges but in real life, if you don't want to use banks because of you being afraid of giving proof of funds, you have to stay hard to cash, and it will be not easy to survive. There is a need for decentralized organizations, otherwise kyc would doom people's anonymity.

If I get it right, we cannot really go full-time on one system alone and totally disregard the other. Somehow, both systems will have to adjust and look for a common ground, taking some features from each other that will somehow create a new hybrid system. For example, as much as we want to avoid it, personal identities cannot be kept away unattached from a certain wealth, even if that wealth is crypto-based. The banks and the governments won't allow it to come out if they are not assured where the money came from, how the money is made, etc.
