Poland: Russian Army Operating in Ukraine "Nobody can seriously accept talk of "separatists" in Ukraine anymore," Donald Tusk told parliament, adding that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has over the past day gathered "very solid confirmation" that the Russia military has entered Ukraine. Canada Concerned About Russia’s Military Expansion in ArcticAccording to a report in the Canada Free Press, the Arctic threat from Russia is very real. Not only Canada countries like Finland and Estonia have also reported airspace violations by Russian military planes. They all feel that Putin wanted to rebuild significant portions of the former Soviet military prowess. Part of the Russian planinclude, upgrading the Temp Aerodrome at the Kotelny Island to receive Ilyushin Il-76 military transport planes. Secondly, the Tiksi Aerodrome is getting developed as a staging base for long-range Soviet bombers. More military camps are being planned to station ground Russian forces in the Arctic. Recently, the Russian Navy hoisted its flag on a remote Arctic island, some 50 kilometres north of Chukotka to develop the island as a base for the Russian Pacific Fleet. Yet another base was opened in Novosibirsk Islands, last year. Regular Arctic drills of Russia are a common sight, using MiG-31 planes and Tu-95 long-range bombers. Shortly after the airliner shoot-down, Russian artillery in Russia began firing at Ukrainian military forces in Ukraine — an overt act of war. Then NATO said it caught Russia sending an "incursion" force across the border, which Ukraine claimed to destroy. Later, according to the rebel leader in Ukraine, 30 Russian tanks and up to 1,200 Russian-trained troops did manage to cross. Wow. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts? Can you give an example? I didn't realise it was so bad. Although it does seem predictable with the criteria spelled out like that. Side note: I would estimate that the US is almost as bad as Russia for most of those criteria. Although their love of fame, brands, and endorsements (cult of personality), would appear to counteract any cultural dislike of intellectuals. Cult of personality: Well, maybe a kind of. Single-party system: Not even close to truth. Identification of enemies as a Unifiying Cause: Half-truth here, it's correct for ukraine too. Militarism: Not even close to truth, there were no "anti-terrorist operation" or illegal mobilization. By the way, our president and government officials don't pose in camouflage, as Poroshenko and Turchinov like to do. If you're speaking about Crimea then remember that Sevastopol was annexed by Ukraine in 1993 without any referendum. Controlled mass-media: Not even close to truth. The most of federal TV channels are private owned, except for 1st channel, 51% of which is owned by state. Despite ITAR-TASS news agency is 100% state-owned there are also some 100% private-owned new agencies such as Interfax. In the Ukraine almost all media outlets are owned directly by government officials. 100% of 5th channel is owned by Poroshenko, 100% of ATN and 1+1 TV channels are owned by Ihor Kolomoyski, etc. Obsession with National Security: Half-Truth here. Russian Journalists Attacked on Fact-Seeking Assignment About UkraineSomebody does not seem to like journalists asking questions about the deaths of Russian paratroopers allegedly killed in eastern Ukraine. Russian journalists Vladimir Romensky from the independent Dozhd television channel and Ilya Vasyunin from the Russkaya Planeta news site said they were attacked, threatened and told to leave town when they arrived Tuesday at a cemetery in Russia's Pskov region where at least two of the paratroopers had been buried a day earlier. Video Shows Column of Russian Vehicles, Manned By Chechen Fighters, On Ukraine's Border In the video below, an enormous column of Russian military vehicles is seen in an unidentified location. The dialogue suggests that they are waiting to enter Ukraine. We have not yet been able to geolocate the video, but we note that there is a column of smoke visible at around 24 seconds in. The men speaking in the video identify themselves as Chechens. Amongst the vast quantities of military hardware seen are T-90 tanks, MT-LB armoured personnel carriers and 2S19 Msta self-propelled artillery. The men are speaking in Chechen, however the uploader has provided a Russian translation in the closed captions of the video. We are currently attempting to verify the Chechen-language content of the video. In the time of the U.S.S.R., it was the people in the East that had a completely idiotic, distorted vision of what the West was up to; the iron curtain meant their "information" was garbage.
But now...in the info age, it's amazing to see people stupid enough to fall for government lies (this time Washington's). You can crack a history book too. Some of this stuff is so dumb it's hard to believe how any of you can believe what you're saying.
No one in their right mind thinks Russia would invade secretly, or with a few dozen armoured cars. Russia doesn't start wars, it finishes them. If they invaded, you would know it (it wouldn't be a secret invasion with journalists claiming it's just aid). And the Ukrainian army would be finished within the hour.
And you'd be left with your meaningless talk.

Mother of the missing #Russian trooper asks #Ukrainians for forgiveness Head of Saratov Union of Soldiers' Mothers Lidiya Sviridova doesn't know what will happen with Russian soldiers, participating in military action in Ukraine, as she told at today's press-conference at Svobodniye Novosti IA, devoted to Russian troopers allegedly killed and imprisoned in Ukraine. According to her, it is not known, what the attitude to the veterans of this military action will be. De facto, they became hostages of the political situation. She also advised parents of missing trooper Ilya Maksimov to go to Pskov "to find out the truth" from the management of the local division, and if they insist on exercises near Rostov, to go there by themselves. Trooper's mother Lubov Maksimova asked Ukraine to forgive her son, because he participates in military action. 'If Ilya's guilty towards Ukraine, I'm asking to forgive him. He's a serviceman, he observes the rules, if you have him, I'm ready to come and take him. Forgive him, and forgive me,' she said. Summarising the meeting, Lidiya Sviridova asked parents of Russian servicemen to make sure their children were alive. 'The games are over. Find your sons today. Make sure there’re serving at the place they were sent to. Today you must forget about your domestic cares and make efforts to find your sons', she said and thanked participants and organisers of the press-conference, who became 'the only support for the Maksimovs'. Sviridova also said, she was ready to come to Ukraine together with other social activists 'to apologise' and to hold negotiations with Ukrainian minister of defence. She promised that after the trip she would strive for investigation of how servicemen of one country could get to the territory of the neighbouring state and for punishing the guilty.
