We are preparing an update/announcement

Here's what happened:
 - An attacker found a bug, which he tried to quietly abuse
 - A notary node saw it, and we pushed a fix
 - The attacker saw that a fix was coming and went "all-in" and started creating new coins
 - We had to announce a rollback as otherwise the attacker would have increased KMD supply by ~10% before the fix would have been applied
 - All trading has stopped, we just wait that the rollback happens and then situation will be back to normal (and the bug is fixed)

An update will be later published on supernet.org

Any update on the next release date on iguana and the komodo windows wallet?

Windows version will be released as soon as its problem is fixed.

Little Update

All Linux & Mac users can already use our latest wallet with all the new gadgets. It doesn't have installers, but the installation process is pretty easy nonetheless.

1. Extract the files
2. Double click Iguana

Release here with release notes: https://github.com/SuperNETorg/iguana/releases/

HOWEVER: it is not thoroughly tested

Our GUI developer Satinder Grewal will be focusin 100% of his time to actual development, not to the easy install releases. Thus we are now forming a managed testing group that will help to test the versions Satinder releases, build easy installers, and then also test those. After we have validated that the easy installers work as expected we will officially release them.

If you would like to help contact @audo or @polycryptoblog on our Slack.

what does it mean $ stable? I don't want KMD to be stable lol, i want volatility to the upside.

It means you can transfer KMD into USD automatically & instantly. The decentralized price feed is maintained by the notary node network, raw prices come from European Central Bank & Bitcoin exchange APIs. A new raw price point is being recorded to Komodo blockchain by the notary node that finds the new block.

White paper incoming, currently final editing is being done.

I've been in the exodus.io slack channel, they are doing a good job, but if there's something that I learn there is that you can't add a ton of cryptos to a multicurrency wallet without expecting to have tons of problems and bugs. You have to take the slow but steady approach, first add the most used coins and expand from there. If not, ask the jaxx.io guys why they ended up taking out monero because of the problems that users were experiencing. You can't just open to the public a multicurrency wallet with lots of cryptos that are buggy, what kind of approach you guys will take? Slow but steady? or all currencies the first release of the wallet and lots of work for problems solving..?

Dev, any thoughts on this? Thanks.

I invested in KMD, i hope my investment is still viable dev. But as you are evading my questions... i can only hope.

Sorry, which question? The question you are quoting was answered here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1605144.msg18130631#msg18130631

Hello  Smiley
Can someone explain how the komodo Interest works.

Becouse i had 5314.06 kmd on Balance 19.47 kmd on Interest Earned and 5333.54 kmd in Total Balance on my address.

And i  made a transfer of 2600 kmd to another address of mine and returned the same amount to the original address.

So now i have 5314.06 on Balance 0.70 kmd on Interest Earned and 5314.77 kmd in Total Balance,

Can some explaine  were the interest go ? shouldn't have received about 19 kmd of Interest on my 1st address?

You acquire the interest automatically without doing anything. The only scenario where you would stop acquiring interested is if you funds have been idle for 1 year.

Next Iguana release will have a separate box for the interest, so it comes more clear how much interest you have received.

I am new to Komodo, can anyone give me an explanation how the interest model in Komodo works and how interest can be claimed? Thanks!

Interest = 5% APR

Info:
https://supernet.org/en/resources/articles/receive-free-coins-quaranteed-kmd-interest

I am still on the original KMD address. According the article I need to move to another address before I start getting the 5% APR? Also, needs to move it once a year?

Thanks,

There's actually one mistake in the article: you don't need to move them to get interest - you get interest all the time.

They must be only moved once a year, as the interest will stop accumulating after 12 months.

One more question on move once a year. Does it needs send to a new address or can it be the same address?

Thanks for your time.

You can just send it to the same address.

We have built a new Bitcoin protocol called 'Iguana Core' which we can use to import any pure bitcoin fork coin into our multiwallet, and they will work with the same API commands. The hard work has already been done by jl777, and adding new bitcoincompatible coins is not a problem.

However, a lot of coins considered as bitcoin compatible have added a lot of new code on top, and thus require a lot of extra work. All in all the situation is not so clear.

So yes, we will have to add new coins slowly - and right now we are mainly focusing on delivering the basic/functional product.

That's a very well written article, I wish more people would know about it! The article doesn't mention tradebots, does this mean they won't be ready in 2017?

And a question about the KV storage: what are the maximum sizes of the key and the value?

No, doesn't mean that.

Think the first tradebot is alreay in bittrexx market making KMD. Iguana will have a GUI for Liquidity Provider (tradebot) config, so anyone can become a LP node.

We really need the LP nodes so our DEX will have liquidity, and actually gain some usage. So the tradebot tech is very much coming, already knocking on our front door. Smiley

Watching this project closely and have invested some.

I think building on top of btc like Komodo is doing is the right way to go, but can I make a suggestion to stop adding functionality to the wallet until you have a stable bug-free version. If you keep adding functionality it will introduce new bugs and prevent you from delivering a stable wallet to be used for simply storing your own coins safely.

I really like the developments so far, keep up the great work!

Certainly a good point.

Majority (all the known bugs) of the bugs have been fixed, we just need to get the release out. Some issues, such as a new bug, rises which further delays the release a bit.

The Jumblr was a very easy thing to add, it only took few hours according to Satinder. Adding it is a crucial thing as it allows jl777 to further test DEX and fix any possible backend bugs.

As a nice long term investment does Komodo offer cutting-edge advantages over competitors?

Komodo has many use cases, which we will need to better highlight
 - Blockchain security layer (other blockchains can connect to Komodo via dPoW consensus, currently about ~43 of our own blockchains are utilizing this feature)
 - Bitcoin anonymizer (Iguana jumblr uses Komodo's Z-transactions)
 - KMD can be transformed into 32 different SuperNET PAX Assets that are pegged to local currencies

We are building a platform for developers, and Komodo is in a central role as the infrastructure blockchain. Whenever an app needs privacy technology it makes sense to use Komodo.

In many cases though, Komodo is there on the background and the users might not even realize it. For example, the Jumblr that we are now testing can be used to anonymize bitcoins, and its users might not know that under the hood it uses Komodo.

Let's say you are a developer and you want to build a simple bitcoin wallet with 32 fiat pegged assets in it. You could do that today (and we have), and it would be using Komodo even if the developer wouldn't really care about Komodo. The app would have to transform the BTC into KMD via our DEX, and then issue a 'PAX deposit' command to transform the original BTC balance into USD (for example). The end user using the app would be unaware that he in fact purchased KMD behind the scenes and that the USD he now hold actually reduced the available KMD supply by locking them inside PAX.

Similarly some bitcoin enthusiast might know nothing about Komodo, but would still happily login to Iguana wallet to anonymize his BTC. He would start the Jumblr process and behind the scenes his BTC is temporarily transformed into KMD via our DEX, and then the app does a Komodo Z-transaction before finally returning the anonymized BTC back to the user. [and this all without any counterparty risk]

These features are not a distant 'vision' or 'roadmap', but rather the next milestone we are looking to reach within the next few months.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 05, 2017, 10:26:46 AM
Attention Komodo Whales!

We have just launched a new Komodo feature called 'Jumblr', it is a decentralized anonymizer for KMD and BTC.

It is being tested right now and we need your help! Why should you do this?

 - you will help the development team; this is another usecase for KMD
 - you will conceal your funds; gain privacy
 - as a community we all need to JUMBLR as much as possible to enhance its privacy effect

A million KMD deposit would keep the JUMBLR service busy for over a week, and the more participation we get the more privacy the service provides. Once there is a critical mass, then it becomes the most private way to mix funds, and since it is not subject to any of the normal risks it should become self-sustaining.

The use of Jumblr costs about 0.3 %

Message from jl777:
Quote from: jl777
need some people who are able to test JUMBLR. at least 2 people to start JUMBLR of their funds at approx the same time. Then to make sure it completes and then to verify that using block explorer it isnt possible to know who controls the destination KMDjumblr addresses. JUMBLR is unique in that all the "mixing" happens without any other parties directly involved. you are always in control of your funds, there are no multisig, multiparty tx. yet we end up with fully anonymized funds in the KMDjumblr address. My next step is to add the DEX of BTC <-> KMD on top so we get a BTC jumblr, but if we can get people to test the JUMBLR core (working with KMD only) in parallel it will speed things up.

What to do?

1. Join our Slack
2. Join channel #jumblr
3. Tell us that you are willing to test Jumblr.

We need to find as many people as we can. We will provide any support you might need, you can also read more about the technology, like its whitepaper draft.

I have some question about the Windows wallet.
Are we going to get our REVS supported in the next Windows wallet release?

I really like the new Windows wallet, so i hope in the next update, our REVS will get supported by the wallet too...any plan to add our REVS in Windows wallet?

Yes, it is there!

Can someone shine a light on the revshare asset.

What I understand so far: There should be a client for that asset chain and you somehow import your btcd private key int here and done !?
So I do not need to have to deal with the Komondo ICO page to get rev shares corretc?

Second what are they good for?
Do they generate interest in kmd or something or is this just another coin/asset with 0 interest and 0 value because no one uses it?

I try to figure out if it even makes sense to claim those shares. When there is no value attached to them I don't see what they are good for and why I should even bother to get them!?

REVS asset gets some revenue out of the SuperNET services, so it will pay dividends. There's is no roadmap or tech behind it... it just plays dividends. Very simple Smiley

For now, we haven't paid any dividends as the platform is just coming online and thus there hasn't been any siginificant profit.

The REVS asset has been distributed already, you have it if you had BTCD in your local wallet OR swapped to KMD before the BTCD snapshot date.
-> if you held BTCD in your local wallet you need your BTCD privatekey
-> if you swapped KMD before the snapshot you will need your seed

Use the REVS explorer (revs.supernet.org) to check if you have received REVS. The address is the same as your KMD address (if you swapped) or then it is your BTCD address (if you held it in your local wallet).

BTCD 1:1 REVS

Next Iguana release supports REVS, so it can be accessed and sent our from the GUI itself. In ~few months you can trade it with our decentralized exchange EasyDEX.

Is anyone else having an issue where their balance in https://kpx.io/ block explorer for an address is not the same as what Iguana/EasyDEX is showing?    This happened with any address of mine and was about 200 KMD off.   I just moved all my KMD to a new address and now it's 2.7 KMD off.  I don't get why it would wouldn't show the same balance.

It is because of the 5% APR interest. The explorers don't update the received interest.

In the next iguana release this confusion is fixed by having a separate interest box

When will RevShares be paid? I had some BTCD and I swapped them for Komodo.
My Komodo coins are sill in my ICO account and I will request them soon.
Will I get the RevShares along with the payment on Komodo payout request?

Yes, when you request the payout(withdrawal) we will also send the REVS, and you can access them with the same passphrase through Iguana. REVS are supported in the coming Iguana release. Also, don't request the payout to an exchange as then the exchange will get your REVS.

Reddit Questions Answered

Quote from: imrer from Reddit
Hello guys, I believe you are experts here so can you help me answer some questions? Smiley
1, In what category is the coin first? In what category Komodo promotes itself?

Hi! We are very happy to answer your questions.

Komodo is the infrastructure coin of SuperNET Platform, and it has many use cases in our own apps/technology, and it is in a natural position to be used by many 3rd party apps developed on top of our platform. Komodo is the first coin to offer the blockchain security service that any other cryptocurrency can use. With that services (or delayed Proof of Work consensus mechanism) a coin can achieve bitcoin level security, just like Komodo is doing right now. So, in other words, a Komodo transaction is secured once a new bitcoin block is founded, because that bitcoin block contains the new Komodo hashes.

Quote from: imrer from Reddit
2, What new features Komodo brings? How is it unique?

In the previous question, I explained the delayed proof of work feature, which is unique.

Another feature Komodo has are the fiat pegged assets (PAX), and currently, there are 32 of them. These fiat assets already exist, and the technology is working from the command line. In our next Iguana release, we will integrate these into our Iguana Application. Anyone can get these assets through the GUI or command line with a 'deposit' process where Komodo coins are automatically converted into these fiat assets. At any point, you can do a PAX 'redeem' and you will get your KMD coins back. A consensus about the exchange rates is decentrally maintained by our 64 notary nodes.

Another feature is a white-label coin generation kit, which is still under development. With it, anyone can launch a new coin with seconds, select which features he wants, and tweak the parameters of the coin. We will offer a white-label GUI among other services. We are looking to make it easier to start new blockchain projects. Developers can start developing their technology instantly, without wasting time and money to basic cryptocurrency setup. Another way for a developer to quickly launch an asset is through a colored coin concept (NXT, Waves), however with our solution the team will receive their independent blockchain. So depending on the need of the specific project our platform might be very appealing.

Quote from: imrer from Reddit
3, Are promises kept by devs?

SuperNET is the organization behind Komodo, and it has a long history of hard work. We have a strong track record of not giving up, and finally, our hard efforts will pay off. All credit goes to our lead developer jl777.

Quote from: imrer from Reddit
4, Are features on roadmap delivered regularly?

During the ICO we talked about many things: Zcash technology, dPoW, pegged assets (PAX), decentralized exchange (DEX), multi-coin wallet. Here's the status of these milestones:

- Zcash: delivered, Native Mode still needs more testing and few bug fixes though
- dPoW: delivered, we have 64 notary nodes that constantly do group signed bitcoin transactions that give Komodo Bitcoin level security.
- PAX: delivered, assets exist and are working, GUI support is just around the corner
- DEX: partly delivered, atomic swaps have been made through command line, GUI support coming in few months

We haven't talked about our roadmap beyond these features. Currently, PAX has certain limitations, and we are looking to remove those with PAX2. There are also other things on our roadmap, such as smartchains.

Our promises are almost delivered, and the short-term roadmap is soon finished, few more months, and after these, we can start talking about the longer term roadmap ahead.

Komodo pays 0.03120000 BTC for notary services a day? Thirty bucks. Well in comparison to other altcoin's needs for keeping their blockchain save from tampering that is a true bargain.
Could cause trouble if some other 200~300 altcoins discover the possibility. At that point in time maybe a "NotaryCoin" as an intermediate between the blockchain and all alts with notary demands would make sense. Oh, wait! There allready is NameCoin.

Just got that feeling NameCoin would have been the better choice for your needs.

Dont know if this thread belongs into the politics or into the altcoin sections.

This is indeed one of our goals, to give the Bitcoin protection to other altcoins too!

Instead of using Bitcoin blockchain (like we do) they can use Komodo blockchain, and achieve the same result but a lot cheaper. This further increases the utility of Bitcoin network and its hashing power.

Altcoins benefit, bitcoin plays a bigger role... the whole crypto benefits.

So, reconsidering my first option to send them directly to bittrex. I saw that nobody asked about this before, but I found difficulty from the 4th step forward, because on my "payout" tab, there were no "skip" or "instruction" and what worries me even more is I have a "you have 0 KMD to payout" sentence. Is that normal (I am not sure if it is related to the "you will not see your balance on ico site" issue)? And what should I do in order to be able to send them to bittrex? Please advise.

Here is the screenshot from "my side"

https://snag.gy/KQhFBU.jpg (sorry, seems I can't upload them to tinypic)

If it says that you balance is 0 KMD, then that means you already did a payout.

Go to the front page and you will see the investment/deposit and withdrawal/payout history. Use one of our explorers (like kpx.io) to checkout if your balance is in your own address.

But I haven't cash out yet, the withdrawal column is still empty and according to kpx.io, it also never send any funds out.

https://snag.gy/rwT6nm.jpg

Did you invest during the ICO or swap BTCD? If not, then the balance is zero.

If you did, then you should see your investments in the dashboard. You can PM me further info about how you invested, etc.

Hey,
Issued my payout over a month ago.
When logging into Iguana, I enter my seed from my KMD ico page as my "wallet seed" to log in and check my balance ect, but nothing shows in the balance area..
Any help on what im doing wrong?
Thanks!

You can check your balance from a KMD explorer such as kpx.io or kmd.explorer.supernet.org, type your KMD address and you will see its balance.

Iguana will function a lot better once we publish the new version this week.

Just wanted to let you know I've updated https://kmd.suprnova.cc to the latest version of the wallet already as I had some questions about it.

Thank you!
