It was determined before that the moon is 5 figures and Mars is 6.

How many figures is Pluto?   Lips sealed
5202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE REAL reason why BTC has a slow adoptive rate on: April 15, 2014, 04:27:18 PM
They should just eliminate "post count" under usernames as it doesn't have much relevance. Many such as myself have been lurking since 2011

Technically it doesn't show post count.  It shows "Activity" which is actually more relevant.

You can make 1000 posts in one day, but Activity actually shows how long you've been active in the forum.

To all of you slobs out there who manipulate the news for personal gain, at the expense of the short/long term success of the Bitcoin ecosystem:

Good for you?

Good friends, Yes?   Wink

Somehow I think it rhymes with RO RUCK ROSELF (Scooby Doo voice).   Shocked

5204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happends the 15th in china? on: April 15, 2014, 02:22:12 PM
Finally people notice what was rumor and what was fact.

Also launch of this soft atm at this day was great idea.
Has it been revalved yet? Can you post an link please?

http://www.coindesk.com/btc-china-launches-first-soft-bitcoin-atm-interface-international-markets/

Picasso ATM launched, basically a "mobile phone ATM".

Similiar to LocalBitcoins, but on your mobile phone.  Impact could possibly be a mini Bitcoin marketplace to buy and sell on the spot, especially if you have millions of users using Picasso.
5205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most efficient way to earn bitcoins without spending money? on: April 15, 2014, 01:58:15 PM
Keep posting here in Bitcointalk forums.

After a certain time frame, you'll become a "Member" and you can sign up for RitzGrandCasino or PrimeDice signature campaign and get paid for posting and responding to posts.

Just need a couple of posts a day each month to get paid out (50 minimum posts a month).

Pretty efficient way, and you don't have to spend a dime.  Of course, no spam or gibberish posts, they check.   Smiley
5206  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Would you buy an Antminer S1 for $375? on: April 15, 2014, 01:46:26 PM
Absolutely, a very good price for one.

Mining doesn't get any easier than an Antminer S1.  Great entry level miner, and even though won't generate alot of BTC daily nowadays, you can mine some Alt SHA-256 coins(Check Coinwarz first) and trade them on Cryptsy back to BTC.

Fun stuff!
5207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why there’s never been a better time than right now to buy Bitcoin on: April 15, 2014, 01:42:42 PM
Any price sub $500 seems like a good time to buy, especially if we all expect Bitcoin to soar to $1000 and above levels.   Cheesy
5208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything is starting to fall into place for Bitcoin on: April 15, 2014, 01:25:17 PM
Well before its moon time, need to get past the sky time.   It breaches the sky then there is no limit since there wont be gravity beyond the sky that can pull it down.

Strap yourself in, This rockets about to take off.

What's going on, this isn't the FUD I'm accustomed to???   Tongue

Buckling my seat belt as well.   Smiley
5209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ok! Let's go to the Moon! on: April 15, 2014, 01:17:20 PM
Is the china ban a false story?

April 15th was supposed to be "D-Day" but China is actually adding Bitcoin ATMs and products in spite of PBOC looking to halt deposits.  I'd say false "rumor", as there's no indication so far that the PBOC will take major action.
5210  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 1 T/Hash miners? on: April 15, 2014, 01:01:47 PM
At $500 and sub $500 levels doesn't make sense to invest all that BTC into a miner.

Just buy and hold and enjoy the ride.   Wink
5211  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Im seriously thinking about getting some mining hardware. on: April 15, 2014, 01:00:10 PM
Just buy 1 Bitcoin, and let her ride up the rollercoaster.   Cool

Better off that way, less stress, no maintenance or monitoring, and you don't have to worry about never ROI'ing.
5212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ok! Let's go to the Moon! on: April 15, 2014, 12:57:19 PM
Before we go to the moon, can we go to $1000 first!   Roll Eyes
5213  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm pretty sure facebook won't implement anything close to cryptocurrency. on: April 15, 2014, 12:55:06 PM
First the news all over the net are that facebook is implementing some kind of money transfer system in the social network. Some journalists even went that far to speculate it might be crypto. Hence the thread I started.
Second, bitcoin ATMs are being shipped for almost half year now and there is no major ATM related even last couple of days that might be related to the price bump.

Actually price bump is due to OKCoin and BTC China unveiling their Bitcoin ATMs in China as well as a "soft ATM" app for mobile phones, sort of like LocalBitcoins.

Either way, good news to counter the PBOC deposit measures.

5214  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Webuy.com in UK now pays out in Bitcoin!! on: April 14, 2014, 11:27:19 PM
Got confused for a second here.

I saw Cex and thought of the exchange, but clearly this isn't CEX.IO.

Looks like a trade in site or marketplace.

It's a big chain of UK stores that mainly buys and sells second hand electronics and dvds etc. They have a lot of physical shops around the country and an online presence.

This came out of nowhere. Shame they're not exactly generous with their buying prices.

Ah Okay.  Forgive me I'm a damn Yankee.  I see now, thanks for the heads up.   Smiley
5215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: April 14, 2014, 09:58:04 PM
In the future:
wealthy = ~2 to 10 BTC
Wealthy elite = ~100+ BTC

For your grand-kids the numbers needed will probably be lower.
FYI: A ticket on Satoshi's spaceship (when he returns) will cost at least 10 to 20 BTC.

Dang...how do I get to Wealthy elite!   Cry

I'm just merely future wealthy... Sad

Buy more coins.   Wink

Haha true!  Maybe you can convince my wife that I should buy more even though she thinks we have 1 too many.   Cool

Has she seen this thread?  ........LOL?  Cheesy

Show her the thread.  Help her believe.  Smiley  Tell her that someday in the near future she will be able to spend only $1 for a pair of $100 shoes or maybe even $1 for a $1000 handbag if she just holds onto Bitcoin for a few years.

I try my best to convince her.   Tongue

She gets scared easily, thinks it's too risky.  I try to explain the benefits, but she says a little investment is okay for now.  To put more into bank savings not bitcoin savings.

It's an ongoing struggle, but at least I convinced her to download Bitcoin Core and buy 1 BTC for herself.  Just to see where it goes.  Grin

I'll take the small victories.  I think when her girlfriends and family start talking about it, she'll take me more seriously.  I genuinely think she thinks I'm crazy.   Cheesy

In a good way though...she lets me do my thing.  Once we spike up to $1000, I'm sure I'll be cursing her to holy hell though!   Angry Grin

Usually if you start out civilized, it's reciprocated.

sounds good in theory

however, my experience (and others) has been the exact opposite

Sorry to hear yours and others experience in BCT hasn't been the most welcoming.

Just like in life and in general, there's a learning curve.  Not saying you have to read the whole forum line by line, but the longer you're here the more you "ingest".

Everyone here has been a Newbie at some point and probably got told to use "the search feature" or LMGTFY.

I think a big part of that is there used to be a "Newbie hell", where you couldn't post as much, so you'd just have to stick to the Beginners and Newbie section for quite a while until you graduated to Jr. Member.  In a way, I thought Newbie Hell made me read more content and see how Sr. and Hero members conducted and answered questions since they've most likely been there from the beginning.

Hang in there, lighten your tone a little, and keep your posts a little shorter.

civilized intelligent discussion.

yes because that is the type of discussion that goes on in this forum, right?

If you look hard enough, there's plenty of intelligent topics discussed without mud slinging involved.

Usually if you start out civilized, it's reciprocated.
