5201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the price of Altcoin be good in 2020? on: January 07, 2020, 03:26:48 PM
The initial signs are not looking good for the altcoins. We had a major bull run, with the exchange rates rising by 15% in one week. However, the Bitcoin dominance has remained more or less constant at 68%-69% range. I have a feeling that this situation is not very viable for the alts. They need to break out of the dominance from Bitcoin. Else sooner or later, they will get eaten up by BTC.

Good and controlled start by team India. Loosing quick wickets by the srilankan team has put them into pressure. Intresting to see this young man Saini bowling very aggressively.

Yup... Saini was bowling at a good pace and he created problems for the South African batsmen. I was more concerned about Jasprit Bumrah, who is returning from an injury outage. He picked up one wicket, but looked out of form. Perhaps he need another couple of matches to get back to his peak form. Anyway... this match is going to be a cakewalk for team India. They should get there in less than 15 overs.

Amazing bowling by Ben Stokes in the end. He was consistently bowling at 140-145 kmph, and his pace was too much for the South African tailend batsmen. The England players were under a lot of pressure, due to the injury of James Anderson. But the remaining bowlers kept the pressure on the opponents and in the end they won with just 8 overs remaining.

One day left and it would be a miracle if they are able to bat the entire day as it is not an easy task as the players now a days does not have the patience to play for a longer period of time in a defensive mind set and since i went for a bet for South Africa i will be happy and surprised if they are able to draw the match and the only possibility i see is that England does not have a good spinner now that could trouble them and the pitch is not aiding the fast bowlers unless they go for a short pitch line and that too the batsman needs to make a mistake to loose the wicket, first one hour determines how the match will be as i am still expecting a win for England.

I am saying this once again. The chances are very low that South Africa will survive for another 90 overs, with just 8 wickets remaining (that too on the 5th day). In the first innings, they batted for a total of 89 overs in the first innings. And so far, they have lost 2 very important wickets (Zubayr Hamza and Dean Elgar), after batting for 56 overs.

IMO, England has a 80% chance of win right now.

Sadly, the richest sporting body can't afford a few super-soakers.
The fact is that the BCCI is taking care of these stadium duties, the local board in a state will pitch for the match to be conducted and if the BCCI thinks that it maintains a minimum standard then the match is allocated and that is what i understand and the preparation should be done by the local authority and BCCI does not gets involved in those and they share the ticket revenue on a percentage basis and the main revenue always goes to the BCCI in the form of television rights and that is how things work.

BCCI can't put the entire blame on the Assam Cricket Association (ACA). The TV broadcasters had spent a fortune for the rights and with every match that is abandoned, they will face tens of millions of USD in losses. I agree that it is the local board (ACA in this case) which has the responsibility to prepare the stadium. But even then, the BCCI has a supervisory role.
5206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins getting Boycotted? on: January 06, 2020, 04:55:06 PM
Some people are bitcoin maximalists, they call altcoins shitcoins derogatorily. BTW, should we consider BCH or BSV altcoins? The most hated ones in their circlejerk
Personally i don't like BSV because of Craig Wright who ruined it with unnecessary claims, first was he invented bitcoin and now he claims to be Satoshi nakamoto, he even said bitcoin will die in 2020, BCH is better

For my part, I have always considered the Bitcoin forked coins (such as Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Bitcoin Diamond and Bitcoin Gold) as a category separate from the other altcoins. Because their price movements and trading triggers are not in line with the mainstream altcoins (such as Ethereum and Ripple). Also, I would classify stablecoins such as USDT and USDC as separate as well.
5207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 71.2%, alts lagging behind on: January 06, 2020, 04:49:16 PM
The most noticeable movement came from the Bitcoin forks. I can see that BCH has once again moved past the BTC0.03 level. BSV is not doing that bad either. It is trading at BTC0.015. It seems to me that the promoters (i.e Roger Ver and his proxies for BCH and Calvin Ayre and his sidekicks with BSV) are pouring in a lot of their funds, to keep these coins afloat.
5208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sources of income? on: January 06, 2020, 04:43:05 PM
Besides trading, holding, and bounty hunting, what are your other sources of income in cryptocurrency?

Can you tell us about your profitable ways of earning cryptocurrencies nowadays?

I have a few blogs, in which I publish ads from various advertising services. Earlier, I used to show ads from a-ads.com and Coinurl, but these sites are not working now. I am still searching for advertising firms which make payment in BTC or ETH. Apart from this, I am also doing some affiliate marketing. But the revenues are not that great from this method.
5209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing is wrong with altcoins on: January 06, 2020, 04:36:14 PM
I am not very comfortable with threads such as this one, which tend to generalize all the altcoins. For heaven's sake, there are more than 10,000 altcoins in existence and many of them are as different as fire and ice. You can't compare an established altcoin such as Monero or Zcash with shitcoins such as Bitsend or Denarius. Actually this is the problem with altcoins. There are too few good coins, and too many shitcoins.
5210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guys stop investing! Use your brain, please on: January 06, 2020, 04:30:02 PM
I had predicted this a few months back (you can check my previous posts). I knew that the IEO sector would go the same way as the ICO. In the beginning, there were quite a few good projects which made the investors filthy rich (just like the case with the ICOs). But once that phase was over, the scammers flocked together and started rolling out their numerous fake projects.
5211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 06, 2020, 04:22:09 PM
Seriously? The South Africans are playing too defensively, having made 51 runs from 140 balls so far during the 2nd wicket partnership. They are not going to win, if the scoring rate is less than 2 runs per over. Because English bowlers are talented enough to get the wickets, at some point of time. You can't expect Malan/Hamza to survive against the British bowlers for an infinite amount of time.
It does not matter if they are winning the match or not as it is a huge task to chase a score 438 runs and it is not even easy to defend the next few sessions let alone draw the match as it needs to have incredible patience and composure to play for a long time and they have lost their second wicket and if they are able to bat till tomorrow afternoon session that would be a surprise for me.

Well.. Hamza just got out. That's what I am saying. He was trying to defend and in the end edged the ball to the keeper. It is not possible to defend endlessly against bowlers such as James Anderson and Stuart Broad. Sooner or later, you are going to miss one delivery and in test cricket batsmen don't get second chances. Pieter Malan is still out there. Let's see what he can do.

Indore weather is OK, but isolated rains are predicted across North India on 7th and 8th January. The 3rd ODI is to be played at Pune, and as of now the weather predictions point to very little rain in Indore/Pune. That said, I was watching the coverage from the first T20 match. The facilities they have at Guwahati looked like from stone age. Sadly, the richest sporting body can't afford a few super-soakers.
5213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: January 06, 2020, 03:58:57 PM
Well the reason that altcoins not grow is because there now is no interest for investors to buy and also a lot of people sell crypto for holidays and other just hold and not buy altcoins, most of people hold waiting for next bull run which possible happen this year.

From what I have seen, most of the altcoins have a very small lifespan. And in most cases, it is within the 6 to 12 months range. During this duration, the altcoin in question may undergo one of more pump-and-dump cycle. But after a certain point, the promoters will move on with some other project, and gradually the trade volumes will die down.
5214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 06, 2020, 03:52:31 PM
I have noticed that the Northeast United FC is at the 8th place in the points table. But that is not due to their fault though. Two of the matches were postponed, due to the ongoing civil unrest in Assam. But even then, Chennaiyin FC are at the 9th position, having won only 2 of their 10 matches. NEUFC has won just two, but they have 5 draws to their name.
5215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High price but no volume on: January 06, 2020, 03:46:38 PM
I'm a lament didn't sell several tokens at the end of 2017 because I believe that the token that I hold will pump. This is a lesson for me if one day the price of a token or altcoin season will return again, I will immediately sell everything and will invest in bitcoin even though it's late.

There is no guarantee for that. Because during the last few days, I did my bit of research about those cryptocurrencies which came in to existence during 2013-14 period. Surprisingly, more than 90% of these coins are no longer active. There is zero mining/trading activity going on with these coins. I believe that the same will repeat with the coins that came to existence during 2017-18.
5216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 06, 2020, 03:39:33 PM
SA : 61/0 and they need 377 runs to win.
We are in the same situation as i too expected South Africa to win the match but they need 325 runs more to win and they have 9 wickets but it is hard to chase that kind of score but if two other batsman can stay in the crease and give a good battle as the pitch is not helping the bowlers then there is a glimmer of hope for South Africa and it all depends upon their determination and temperament

Seriously? The South Africans are playing too defensively, having made 51 runs from 140 balls so far during the 2nd wicket partnership. They are not going to win, if the scoring rate is less than 2 runs per over. Because English bowlers are talented enough to get the wickets, at some point of time. Arjun Nair of Sydney Thunder got hit for five sixes in a row, during the BBL match against Brisbane Heat (Tom Banton was the batsman). And not surprisingly, Thunder lost the rain-effected match by 16 runs (D/L method). Tom Banton hit the fastest 50 ever in BBL and this match may witness the end of the cricketing career for off-spinner Arjun Nair.
5218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 04, 2020, 07:58:55 AM
Considering the fact that the English bowlers are in top form, I would say that a score of around 300 would give England some sort of an advantage against South Africa. During the last match, they were shot out for 181 in the first innings and they should be happy that they have managed to score 250 plus this time. Scoring another 38 runs to take the total to 300. It is going to be tough. But if James Anderson manages to give most of the strike to Ollie Pope, then this target can be achieved.

I think that the immediate target for New Zealand would be to end the day without the loss of any wickets. They are 52/0 after 23 overs and they need to survive for another 6 overs. So far both Tom Blundell and Tom Latham have batted brilliantly, showing a lot of patience against the pace triad of Starc/Cummins/Pattinson. They are putting up a good show, despite the absence of almost half of their regular players due to injury and illness.

Yes it has really amazing to watch the match yesterday between Hobart hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat it was the high scored match, Lynn firework helped heat to post a massive 212 on the broad and Hobart managed to only 181 in the chase, and lose by 31 runs.

I think so the BBL has most followers after IPL in terms of quality

The good thing about BBL is that most of their revenue is coming from the Australian TV audience. For leagues such as the CPL of the West Indies, the majority of the revenue comes from Indian and North American audience, and I don't think that it is very sustainable. I heard that they are planning to expand the BBL by adding more teams. Earlier there were suggestions to add two teams from New Zealand (one each from the North and South Islands), but now they are planning to add one or two teams from second tier Australian cities (such as Geelong, Gold Coast, Canberra, Darwin.etc).
