I think out of the 3 things {Security, anonymity, stability}, they would be looking at, the most important would be security for me. Giving the crypto currency user the sole responsibility to carry all risk involved with keeping his money safe, would be more than most people would be willing or able to do. I had difficulty explaining text messaging {SMS} to my grandmother, I cannot imagine trying to explain to her, how to use 2FA or using Private keys etc. to access her pension fund. This is just too much for some people. Yep, this is absolutely the winner to help the average person not feel overwhelmed and turned off to using crypto. Nothing like waking up the next day and not knowing whether you'll have money or not. At least w/ fiat, there's relative security to know that if you went to bed w/ $100 in you bank account, it's still there and you're able to put food on the table and gas in your car. Security enhancements are a must.

Probably volatility, because who wants to pay 3$ for a big mac, then the next day it is 1$, and then the next day its 6$.
The yo yo pricing you're describing only take place during the bubble formations when there's mania buying in progress. The last 3-4 months, while there has been fluctuations in pricing, has been fairly steady in terms of if one spends a BTC there is ample time to get another one in due time for a similar price. There's volatility in what one can purchase for their value of USD and it's an upside down correlation short and longer term compared to BTC. BTC's value or purchasing power doesn't have the leisure of economists cooking the different indexes and hiding things like they do w/ fiat's inflationary aspects.

I'm wondering if they're alluding to a black swan event in a positive or a negative connotation. Since the future is unknown, guess it could be either but w/ all the upside to BTC I imagine the former.

I imagine that if these are limited edition coins then the collector's value will go a long way to maintaining value in the event that BTC price far outpaces that of gold yet the last owner already ripped the private keys and/or spent the BTC leaving just the ounce of gold left.

Sometimes in order to push people to learn about something you have to take your item right to them and give them the option to learn and comprehend. I just wonder how far the promotional aspect goes in terms of marketing these events to get the average person to turn out.

Let's face it, if the mainstream press can't or won't articulate to the people how bad their government is screwing them over when it's plain as day, then reporting on something as complex, new and revolutionary as Bitcoin or crypto in general is beyond their pale. It will be this way for some time I'd imagine. As long as the tech advances to make things easier for the uninitiated, we should keep getting in better shape. Heck, once these new financials step their toes in this and the price starts to rise, the media will have do something to better explain why things are changing as the mania reaches new heights.

The more the merrier, every little bit helps. Especially these high tech outfits that only need to be introduced to something they'd already be ready to use anyway once they see the benefits. Tho, I'm not even sure what BTC infrastructure is over there in terms of making it easy to get a hold of, liquidity and certainly any places to spend it. But, if they were to see the long term value in it while the infrastructure is upgraded, then their addition to creating demand for BTC will for sure.

Yep, these ATMs need to be located in as many towns and other higher traffic areas for true mainstream adoption to fulfill itself. Tho, even regular people going to this length after creating a wallet and transferring the app to one's phone is a little complicated. I like what Xapo is doing but that is more for users already in the mix and a good portion of the savvy that have yet to come on board. I like what Coinbase is doing by pushing merchants to give discounts but they (CB) should also come out w/ a debit card so that people can be using coins in a way that they almost don't even think about it. Checking account->Coinbase->debit for spending them easily on companies that offer discounts for doing so->Voila. Every woman shopper would operate this way since they all carry coupon savers clubs scan cards on their key chains as it is. Then, once this trend manifests itself as the norm, every company will have no choice but to take Bitcoin and offer discounts for using it. Before you know it, market cap is through the roof. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

This appears to be a nice little boon for the Asian crowd that wants to have more choices in terms of operating on this exchange. Heck, I wonder if the DPRK knows anything about crypto and is investing his people's money in it so they can eat steak and potatoes for years to come. One can wonder I guess.

Spent most if not all of the coins I acquired during the 60-150$ range on mining supplies, contracts and other nonsense.

So, um. Now that it's July 21, can we remove our signatures and still get paid? planned for July 21-23 scares me a bit. Care to clarify?
that's how he always stated payouts, iirc. pretty sure if you go to his last posts, he said they could be removed after the period ended (the 20th), but people usually tend to keep the sigs until paid in this situation. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That's gonna be pretty crappy then cause I read it as you can change it on the 21st to which this forum's time frame is UK time meaning everything that is posted under their current today doesn't count. I logged 117 posts and then checked this thread and noticed the OP was stopping the campaign. So, naturally I was looking into other campaigns and found primedice and got with them once the 21st time frame started on this forum which I imagine the OP goes by. My starting count w/ PD was 839 so I do hope that all goes well and I get paid appropriately as I was a loyal worker during this weekly campaign up until time officially was over. Anyone that peruses my threads knows I was sigging FXO up until a few hours ago.

Titus Oates, late in the reign of Charles II, is famed for having ginned up a wild conspiracy of Catholics to assassinate the King and install a regime of "popery" on the nation. His accusations were beyond absurd, Charles himself questioned him and laughed at him as an idiot, but the fears and hysteria of the arch-protestants made them willing to believe anything, no matter how idiotic, due to their fears of Catholicism.
Sound familiar? Look at how the 'baggers today view Washington, with that same ultimate paranoia that makes them willing to believe anything they are fed by the modern day Titus Oates--whether they be the Limbaughs, the Becks, the Fox News, no matter how hysterical or outlandish the accusations get, the fanatics--whether 'baggers or archprotestants, are willing to believe them.
I think the psychology between the 'baggers and the archreligious is the same, the only difference really is the object of their hatred and fear.
That does certainly seem to be the case regarding the mainstream media, some of these folks and their accusations against the tea party movement. Thanks, Umair. I didn't think you had it in you to be rational. Well done. What you believe as a tea party person and what the national tea party lead by the Kock brothers is totally different than your view. They are not interested in making this country better for you and me. They don't give a shit about your freedoms. Their goal is to make more money for themselves and are more than willing to use the tea party to obtain their goal. Just as many politicians try and use the church for political gai . Rand Paul is the only one who seems different from tea party/ republican, and like his father will be cast aside I'm not saying the attacks on him won't come as they catch up to everyone especially when they're booming in the polls closing in on elections. But, he is amassing quite a cast of characters for his national and state staffing positions as well as meeting w/ large donors on a regular basis. Frankly, he's currently in the position Romney was in early on prior to him running this last time. He was well known, got plenty of allies in the party as well as having big donors in his back pocket. Rand has all of that plus a country and a party coming in his libertarian populist direction on many big fronts.

R.J. Reynolds company is of course going to fight this, and I don't blame them. That amount is absolutely absurd! I hate frivolous lawsuits like this. No one forced the man to start smoking and no one forced him to continue smoking. Yes, nicotine is addictive, but many people quit smoking every day, so there is no reason the man could not have done it too. And smoking's health risks have been well known and well advertised for a long time now. I can only imagine the ear-to-ear grins the lawyers for this woman had. Leeches!
I know, right. When I first read this I'm this has got to be a world record for punitive damages by a long shot. And, what fucking pool of 12 people could be so fucking stupid to award such a large amount.. I agree w/ the family guy that a few million is more acceptable but this is larger than some class action lawsuits.

I'm looking for a new home as my current plan ends tonight or is probably already over as this place seems to be on UK time. I read the OP and so basically I just fill out the form and add the sig right?
That's right. You might notice that the enrolment form sends you onto the claim page straight after submitting. Usually you have to hit submit again (on the resulting claim page) in order for the process to complete and add you onto the list that Stunna holds. It may have changed since then but that was my experience when that occurred. I tried several times before that by only filling out the enrolment form and it didn't work. Hope that helps and welcome aboard! Done and done, much obliged!

I'm not really impressed w/ these stories popping up about certain cold storage options getting people hacked or stolen. It's almost easier and safer to leave them at Blockchain.info w/ 2FA on or vault them w/ Xapo.

![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Saturday in Denver at the Western Conservative Summit former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) slammed Attorney General Eric Holder for his appearance on ABC's "This Week" last Sunday when he accused Obama administration detractors of being motivated by race.
Palin slammed Holder, saying, "I don't need lectures from Eric Holder." Taunting him, she continued, "Not many cabinet members in U.S. history have been held in contempt of Congress."
The Tea Party firebrand urged, "instead of shamelessly playing that race card," he should look at the protests in black and latino communities about the resources going to the illegal immigrant children flooding across the U.S. Mexico border. TX Overwhelmed by 911 calls from Lost Migrants Migrant crisis expands north from border, into arid Texas wilderness Daniel Zamarripa loaded his police dog into the back of his patrol car and set out to track his quarry — immigrants circumventing the local Border Patrol checkpoint.
Zamarripa, 27, is one of 15 reserve deputies brought in to assist the Brooks County Sheriff's Office, whose four deputies have lately found themselves overwhelmed by 911 calls from migrants stranded on the vast ranches that stretch from here to the horizon in all directions.
Then there are the bodies of migrants who didn't make it to retrieve and identify: 42 so far this year.
Most attention to the crisis on the Southwest border has focused in recent weeks on the Rio Grande Valley, where many of the 57,000 unaccompanied children and a large number of families have crossed from Mexico since October, twice last year's total. Many surrender to immigration agents willingly at the Rio Grande, aware that they will be allowed to stay pending immigration court hearings.
Lots more and some pics... http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-immigration-brooks-county-20140720-story.html#page=1
