Don't rely on others to tell you what to buy. That's especially true for Youtubers and so-called crypto influencers who are paid for shilling different projects for money. That's paid advertising and they will make any cryptocurrency look good if you buy them enough.

What is the reason you bought what you bought?
What use case does the coin have and what problems are solved with it?
Did you make any research and analysis before you bought it?

The answers to these questions are probably you don't know and none, am I right?
A good project is supposed draw you in with the strength of its technology not the promises of how quick you will get rich and buy a lambo.
In reality, most altcoins are created to make the team around it rich, not you and me.

Lastly there are lots of scam project around so as a newbie I would strongly advice you to invest in stable coins like Bitcoin and other stable alt coins like Etherium and BNB.
In what sense are any of those three coins considered stable? Not that long ago, Bitcoin was worth $4.000, its price then went up to almost $70.000, and the value today is $30.000. You have similar ups and downs for the other two as well.

This one is unlisted and appears as such on CMC.

MetaUFO is listed on PancakeSwap apparently. You should be able to sell it there.

Metawar is also listed on PancakeSwap.

How did you by these tokens?
5222  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LTC CASINO NOT paying winnings . 1496 Ltc to be paid on: May 30, 2022, 11:56:04 AM
<Snip>
I don't know really. Do you know the real name of the alleged casino owner? This Andrew TTR that you keep mentioning. He is a streamer or a gamer if I remember correctly. What if Andrew is not in Portugal at all? You can say and write whatever you want on the Internet? Andrew is also not a Russian name. Maybe his real name is Andrei or it could be totally made up - an alias.
5223  Other / Meta / Re: BADecker can do this ... on: May 30, 2022, 09:52:22 AM
I can't speak for my cycle-mate, but I have reported BADecker's posts with all sorts of violations, including plagiarism. The only thing that is handled properly is multiposting, everything else is ignored.
That means that the staff are checking the reports, they just don't agree with your point of view. They only agree when you report posts to be merged, but not not the off-topic cases. I didn't pay too much attention to what he wrote about Russia's occupation of Ukraine because I couldn't care less what he thinks about it. But it seems the staff don't mind it, for whatever reason. But that plagiarism that o_e_l_e_o found definitely needs to be addressed.

Contact the police and say what? Hey mr. policeman i played on a illegal/unlicensed casino with money probably not declared to taxes, can you help me with my illegal activity?
Unless the UK government where OP lives prohibits playing on crypto gambling platforms that are unlicensed or are not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, the player has every right to use his crypto to make bets. Taxable events occur when the crypto is exchanged for other digital assets or fiat currencies, which wasn't the case here. I seriously doubt he was breaking any laws. But I also don't think UK authorities can investigate a Russian citizen (if the owner is Russian) who operates an anonymous crypto casino. That's out of their jurisdiction.
5225  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: TERRA LUNA - Da li se je netko zaj.... kao ja? on: May 30, 2022, 09:15:59 AM

I've tried adding screenshots to make this simple guide more explanatory, but i noticed it is not displaying, how do I go about it?
You can't with your current newbie rank. It's a forum restriction. You will have to become a Jr. Member at least before your posted images will become publicly visible. There is a way around that and that is to purchase a copper membership. Read about it here.

Sometimes if the images are essential to the thread and a higher ranked member feels they should be visible, they will quote your post to display them.
5227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insanely high APY projects will lose more on: May 29, 2022, 09:24:12 AM
If you know what's good for you and your cash put them in bitcoin and stable coin.
Terra UST was a stablecoin and it was safe until one day it suddenly wasn't. Something similar can maybe happen to DAI tomorrow or Tether. Centralized or decentralized, they might still get de-pegged.

Anchor Protocol was a big factor in the UST fiasco. Waaaay too much money was locked in the platform where interest rates of 20% were being offered. Unsustainable interest rates that started dropping after a while. When that happened, people lost interest in UST. That tells you that for 80% of the investors (that was reported as the percentage of the total allocation locked in Anchor Protocol), USTs only use case was to earn those 20% extra rewards. And that's it. Take away or lower their rewards and the system falls apart.
5228  Other / Meta / Re: BADecker can do this ... on: May 29, 2022, 09:01:35 AM
I just can't understand what plausible benefit does BADecker bring for the forum that he must be allowed to spam like this.
He increases the forum's post count no matter what the quality of those posts is. Grin
People should create self-moderated threads more often, especially in boards with high amounts of spam such as P&S, Bitcoin Discussion, B&H, Gambling...
In my experience, the mods are rather quick to delete off-topic spam when I report it. I am not an active reporter but I do report things from time to time when I believe they shouldn't be there, and it gets handled.

How does a report of yours look like for a post of his that should be deleted? What do you write there? Do the same type of reports you make get handled in other forum boards?

Share a few of those links here...
5229  Other / Meta / Re: What is the proper way to address a noun with a pronoun with Satoshi and others on: May 29, 2022, 08:30:19 AM

Sir isn't needed in any way. No one here is a "sir". We are random internet users that have gathered on a forum to discuss Bitcoin.

"Sir" was something I often encountered working with people from Asia and Africa (not as common as in Asia though). It's part of Asian culture not to look you directly into the eyes as a sign of respect. But in Europe, it's the exact opposite. It's disrespectful not to look at the person you talk to. You have a conflict of cultures there.

I was called "sir" quite a lot by Asians and noticed that's how they address white people most of the time. It honestly made me uncomfortable because you are putting yourself down in the process. If we are all equal, why are you giving my a title because I am white and you make it sound like I am better than you? The non-eye contact was also hard for me to get used to. From far away, I imagined it looked like the big and strong white man was barking orders at the less important Asian person.
5230  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live - Your Transaction May Have Failed? on: May 29, 2022, 08:14:59 AM
Didn't use Ledger before so I don't know how it works but any decent wallet will check the validity of the receiving address before creating the transaction. So, I don't think there is anything wrong with the address itself.
If you enter an invalid Bitcoin address in Ledger Live, the next/continue button won't be clickable, so it's not possible to send to a non-existent address. I will check it again a bit later today just to see if something didn't change in the newer versions. I doubt it has.

@jerry0
From the way you explain it, that casino doesn't work with Bitcoin, as in you are not gambling and wagering Bitcoin. They tell you how much you need to deposit in crypto and then convert the coins into fiat using a payment processor(USD or whatever you selected in the settings). That's why you have a limited amount of time to make the deposit. Same thing would happen during withdrawals as well.
5231  Other / Meta / Re: Outdated factoids? ["Bitcoin Core is beta software"] on: May 29, 2022, 07:54:39 AM
There was a similar discussion started in September 2021 > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5361261.0.
The OP of that thread was arguing that Bitcoin shouldn't be called an "an experimental digital currency".

achow101, a Bitcoin Core Developer and Contributor said the following:
Bitcoin Core still (intentionally) contains a line that says "this software is experimental". The line saying that Bitcoin Core is beta software was removed in 2014.

Also, regarding the version number change from 0.21.0 to 22.0, achow101 said:
The version number is not an indicator of experimental or beta status.
...
It is a cosmetic change and does not indicate anything of significance, so there was no announcement or celebration because there is nothing to announce or celebrate.
5232  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LTC CASINO NOT paying winnings . 1496 Ltc to be paid on: May 29, 2022, 07:40:06 AM
I would like to know how much money are they paying for softswiss to investigate? if they are paying then how long did they ask softswiss to finish the investigation?
Who says they are even investigating? There isn't a shred of evidence to prove that LTC Casino even approached and got in contact with SoftSwiss. We only have a post by a casino representative saying SoftSwiss is involved. That same casino representative has promised to make all player data public once their investigation is concluded. That was a lie and they didn't. They claimed OP was playing 16 hours without any breaks between the rounds. That was also a lie. If I am given a choice to trust the words of someone who has already lied multiple times or not to trust them, I choose not to.
5233  Economy / Services / Re: HELP WITH BETTING! BETTING FOR YOU! MAKE MONEY WITH ME! on: May 29, 2022, 07:29:31 AM
I am in no way justifying the services OP is offering or saying they are legit and that he will hold up his part of the deal, but it seems to me that many didn't understanding what is being offered here. First of all, OP isn't asking you to send him any money. You are not paying him to receive information about an alleged fixed match. You are supposed to tell him about such matches only if you have such information. If you can't make the bet yourself because you don't want to, you are scared to do it, or for any other reason, OP claims he will do it for you. He will bet with his own money and the two of you agree how to split the profits.

At least that's how I understood the offer. This doesn't mean that it's not a scam but also not that it is.
I personally don't like what I see and don't trust him, but everyone should make up their own mind.

Taraz next match is programmed for next month. I don't now what you mean with "now".
Taraz played a match yesterday at 14:00 CET. They won 3:0 and were leading 2:0 at halftime. OP posted that tip of his at 12:49 forum time, that's 14:49 CET, which means that the match was already at halftime when the prediction was posted. The prediction is therefore not worth anything since the first half already ended or was close to end when the post was made.
5234  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you advertise your casino? on: May 28, 2022, 06:56:44 PM
^ It is really hard to catch fish in a wide ocean, you will never know who is your target if you have ads on social media.
It seems like wasting your money and time, why not on the community that has a full of gamblers, like on this forum or any platform that allows gambling.
Social media advertisements can be targeted to groups and individuals who are likely to be interested in seeing them. You can configure them to be shown to followers or friends of certain gambling communities, users who like certain brands, and have interests that suits what is being advertised. Whether or not Facebook allows gambling ads, that's a different topic of discussion. My point is, they can be configured to your taste.
5235  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live - Your Transaction May Have Failed? on: May 28, 2022, 06:29:25 PM
So when this happened, i went back to the gambling site page which has the btc address shown earlier for me to send to... and it also has a timer showing like okay you still have xx minutes still to do the transaction.  does that make sense?
If you were sending to a payment processor in order to make a purchase of some goods or services, it would make sense that there is a timer that you have to respect and send the correct amount before the clock goes down to 0. If it does and you haven't send the requested amount, the rates change and you might be asked to send more. I have never seen such a system on a gambling site and I don't see the logic why it's there.

There was also on that page to cancel transaction.  So because of what happened earlier with that error message, i cancelled the transaction on the gambling site page.  Then i went back to the deposit page on the gambling site and went to deposit btc again and it then generates me a new btc address to send to.  Makes sense?
That also makes no sense. You can't cancel Bitcoin transactions in that way. If the transaction has been broadcasted (which obviously didn't happen in your case), you can't cancel it on the receivers end. It's not like a garage door you close so no one can enter. You can send Bitcoin to any valid address and the recipient can't prevent you from doing that. If I know one of your Bitcoin addresses, I could initiate new transactions to it 50 times a day if I wanted to. How are you planning to stop me from doing that?

I am curious, can you tell me the name of that gambling site?

Was there something wrong with the btc address supplied by the gambling site the first time?
That's not a question anyone here can answer.
5236  Other / Meta / Re: [Statistics] OgNasty's Merit Faucet on: May 28, 2022, 01:14:09 PM
I always took into account that there will be more of those who will try to abuse it to get 1 or 2 merits and thus become Jr. Members who will spend their time exclusively as bounty hunters.
There were certainly some who did that, but there is another way to look at it. At least they learned to sign a message and one day they might realize that bounty hunting is a dead end and not worth it. When that happens, they might look at those merits as some sort of incentive to start learning and focusing more on Bitcoin.

However, I think that in the end, when everything was looked at, it was more useful than harmful - looking at the list, I noticed at least a dozen members who became valuable members of the forum.
Exactly. Even if some tried to abuse it or succeeded doing so, I would rather look at the positive side and on those who are today contributing forum members and maybe became such because of the positive experience they had with OgNasty.
5237  Other / Meta / Re: What is the proper way to address a noun with a pronoun with Satoshi and others on: May 28, 2022, 12:55:51 PM
If you do not know a person to be a male or a female, 'it' is the right pronoun to use.
If you don't know someone's gender, you don't use "it", you use "they". That's a singular "they". "It" refers to objects and things. We might not know if satoshi is male or female, but we know he isn't a thing. I prefer referring to satoshi as "he" simply because it's a male Japanese name. If he used the username "Frank" I would also refer to Frank as a "he" despite not knowing his real gender. Satoshi is a "he" to me until proven otherwise.

Fan fact...
Is that a fan fact or a fun fact because it could be both. Grin

If I remember correctly, even Cyrus in the bitcointalk youtube channel
https://www.youtube.com/c/BitcoinTalkShow
Always referred to Satoshi Nakamoto using the "triple approach" "he / she / they" .
I think this is the best way to define this identity.

It could be a man and therefore one refers to him as "he".
At the same time (to distract from the doxx) this identity could be a woman and therefore without being sexist (and considering that we are all SN) we must also use "she".
Not necessary because the singular "they" isn't gender specific, so you don't need the he/she pronouns, which are gender specific.

For all I know Satoshi Nakamoto is an AI from the future, send back through time to fund it's future operations. That makes it an it.
Why am I not surprised that one AI recognized a different AI?!
5238  Other / Meta / Re: Outdated factoids? ["Bitcoin Core is beta software"] on: May 28, 2022, 12:34:16 PM
If Bitcoin Core developers still consider their software experimental and it still says that on the About Bitcoin Core tab, why should the information on Bitcointalk be different from official claims? I say leave it as it is until those who work on it decide to change the experimental prefix. It would be interesting to ask them via GitHub and see why exactly that is and what needs to happen for Bitcoin Core to no longer be experimental?
5239  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live - Your Transaction May Have Failed? on: May 28, 2022, 11:41:31 AM
I'm also not sure, but after reading the "last bullet point in the fourth step of this article", I believed it should've allowed such outputs to be used as an input in a new transaction, but perhaps there was a bug of some sort that didn't allow that transaction to go through [I could be wrong].
There is also this blog post by Ledger where they state that they no longer allow unconfirmed transactions to be used for new transactions by default. This particular setting can be changed, but honestly, I don't see Jerry changing any of the standard settings without asking multiple times how many other Ledger users in the world have also done it.

Quote
While creating a Bitcoin transaction, Ledger Live will now no longer let unconfirmed transactions be used for new transactions by default. This will ensure that you won’t be facing any difficulties with the “Send Max” feature – even if any pending incoming transactions are cancelled. This setting can be changed if desired.

That blog post is older than the source you linked to, so maybe the information is no longer correct.
5240  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.0.9 wont open in Windows 8.1. on: May 28, 2022, 07:57:44 AM
I used Windows 7 in the past and after upgrading to Windows 10, there were absolutely no issues with incompatible software or bugs with the applications I work with. I have never had Windows 8. If you are worried you might mess something up, just save all your important files on a clean USB that you can recover from in case of OS difficulties. I am still on Windows 10 despite being offered a free upgrade to Win 11. I am not in a hurry to start using the newest OS because Windows 10 still receives all important security updates. Windows 8 is outdated though and you should abandon it.
