It is not just the truckers that are quitting
That's correct. Just the truckers quitting may halt the movement of many goods - see what has happened in UK - and they're quite powerful. But you're right, people from far too many fields are quitting. It doesn't look good at all. Will this trigger a real crisis? Maybe. And I don't see any other solution than opening the borders widely - then there will be a huge influx of people who will want to get those jobs and do whatever it's needed to get them. Of course, I can't realistically expect that to happen. Perhaps 2.5 million departing truckers will give Elon the vacuum he needs to push his robot truck drivers. That could rank in the top 5 of the most predictable things happening atm. As crazy as it may sound.
I doubt, AI trucks will be in the roads in the near future, but in the next few years it will be a reality as Elon and team are working on it. The technology is not as good as advertised. Not yet. They can't do this so soon and at such a scale. Not yet.

And DuckDuckGo is not actually better - it made me miss other results.
You might want to check StartPage which bought search result from Google Search. Then I guess that I should not expect them be better than Google ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) , still, may give it a try, thanks for the idea.

December 2017 was the peak, so many expect the same again this year.
I kinda doubt this. While in 2017 the ATH was indeed in December, wasn't the 2013 ATH in November? So maybe the rule should be "in the last months of the year", not necessarily December...

I would also add that this overlaps with the day CME Bitcoin futures expire, hence one of the days the price drops anyway. The fear related to COVID and that fall of stocks has probably amplified today's dump.

According to some reports, Mercedes has exploited a gray area in the laws. The fixed rear wing moves during the straight line, which makes the downforce less and therefore greater speed... I mean, we say that a fake mini DRS system works outside the areas allowed by the laws, any fixed dynamic part should not be It moves by more than 2 mm and it seems that Mercedes found the loophole and exploited it. Helmut Marko was honest when he said it was impossible that the engine alone gave the advantage to Mercedes
I would not be surprised. It's probably not the first time and it may also be one of the reasons Eric Blandin is leaving. No matter how good pilot Lewis is, the performance from Brazil wouldn't be possible without a car much better than everybody's. And the difference (in performance) from the car from just one week before was... big.

What's your opinion
First thing to say is that this would belong to Speculation and maybe it would be a good idea you move this topic there. Second, many TA people on twitter say that we had a falling wedge and the breakout is starting. Although there were quite some loud signals to spread fear - unrealistic (imho) expectations on the MtGox bitcoins getting returned fast and dumped, the fake news about Bitcoin ban in India - the expectations from the price are high. Far too many expect 100k. And with the electricity getting more expensive in many areas of the world, I expect Bitcoin price will rise. But I will be fair: I don't know what's next. Bitcoin price loves to go up-and-down-and-up-and-down-again.

Not saying BitPay is good, just bringing up the point that having processors have a 'merchant complaint department' would not be a bad thing.
They're not idiots, they're just evil. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Sorry, had to say this. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) And I don't want to imply that the others would be idiots; I guess that they just don't care - there are far too many businesses that work under the "principle": if the money flows, why bother? It's interesting that they do this, I didn't know. I would have been expecting them also in the "why bother" team. It looks like they're one more step in front of the competition. I really hope a proper Bitcoin payment processor will emerge and fast. One that is smart and also not evil. but why should I display irreversibility as an advantage?
Back to OP: reversible transactions help one side, irreversible transactions help the other side. It's still a good feature, not a weakness imho; I find it more normal that when a transaction is done, it's 100% done. Fiat is also not reversible per se, it's just intermediaries who made it so.

Guys and girls, always check the trust feedback when you do business with basically anybody, no matter they offer you a job, want to exchange coins or whatever. The information is there, use it well.

Let's say you order something and choose to pay with cash. The courier won't hand it to you until you pay. You may expect something valuable, but the seller was a dick and put in there a brick. Bitcoin is closer to hard cash than to CC, for example.
And PayPal is designed closer to an escrow that favors the buyer; comparing Bitcoin with that is like comparing apples with oranges.
I think that all depends on the selling platform. If you buy directly from a seller, you're indeed better with escrow or PayPal. But most things one usually buys from bigger shops/selling platforms. For now most are used with CC/PayPal handling user protection in this kind of matters, but for example AliExpress are themselves escrow - afaik the seller receives the money very late and the buyer has quite a good chance to prove he received broken product/got scammed and get his money back. I guess that for Bitcoin the shops or payment processors (why not?) may have to evolve into handling this too. And, interestingly, CBDCs getting issued may be of help in this matter.

Well, the image posted ends conveniently pretty much before a send out of 1500 BTC (2021-11-09). And in October the amounts sent out from that wallet were pretty big (7500 BTC) I've taken this image from https://oxt.me![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F05%2F14%2Fblob078ce1ff30986817.png&t=664&c=rFlHgbv95qB8ZQ) For me it looks like the inputs and outputs kinda go together, so it can very well be some sort of pre-consolidation cold wallet of a business, whether is exchange, whale, OTC, .. I don't know.

I thought China already banned mining? Surely they can't say the same thing twice in the same quarter and have investors actually listen to them?
Some people seem to just love to act based on FUD. They've successfully recycled the ban FUD already, they'll do it again when they find the right moment. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) the price of Bitcoin fell further, that is, it was sold at a price of 56,959 US dollars per piece
The price drops lately may be more related to the news and expectations about MtGox (previous week) or the FUD about "India banning crypto" (this week) than China news. But on the realm of FUD anything can happen, especially now, with real problems with the energy/electricity in many countries. Imho the energy problems should actually increase the price since mining mat become more expensive this winter. all the news coming from the communist mouthpiece are all irrelevant now
They are not, especially China has a huge population. The only thing is that the current official status now there is "crypto banned" so there may be needed some good news or a cool down period until something bad is said again.

Should we be worried about this?
While increasing surveillance, regulation and obviously taxing crypto are absolutely normal/expected directions for governments, I don't see anything worrisome in their actions. I mean why would they create elaborated laws and tax for it if they would plan to ban it?! And the declarations about mining are just politics. They want to temporary distract the plebs from the energy problems their politics have created and found Bitcoin an easy target. The energy crisis can't last too long, else they'll lose var too many votes, and when that's gone nobody will care about Bitcoin mining. The only problem there is that the price rise may render it unprofitable.
