You're not going to get 600 BTC back..
5222  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER for dummies? on: April 15, 2013, 03:03:26 PM
That's OK for people that holds coins from earlier time, not really for us later adopters, it's pretty risky to invest at current prices for something that would need 2+ years to make roi.

I'd probably enter if it is 0.02 per share, unfortunately not at 0.007 as much as I would like. That USB stuff looks promising but shares went up after it's announced so it canceled lot of it's potential.
Are you silly? What kind of P/E ratios are you expecting?
5223  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER for dummies? on: April 15, 2013, 03:00:07 PM
Tell that to the people who invested with Pirate?

Look into litecoin mining bonds?
5225  Economy / Gambling / Re: Welcome to Mini-Lotto Mayhem! on: April 15, 2013, 02:56:22 PM

That's not true. Each lotto corresponds to a block. Your deposit is only included in the lotto if it gets included in that block. If it doesn't get included, we roll over to the next lotto until it gets confirmed.

nice, so this must be stated in your site as I take this conclusion just seeing that the entries had unconfirmed deposits.

By the way, liked the way you show the winner just after a found block.

two suggestions.

- put a link on each entry pointing to the transaction in blockchain.info
- to avoid double-spents you should only pay the winner after 6 or more confirmations
People are going to double spend if they lose, and not double spend if they win then.

1 confirm is good enough for most gambling sites, unless you're dealing with a few hundred BTCs.

BTC-E is trustable, right?
Kinda. They have a sour taste in my mouth for essentially accepting a premined bribe to list something called NovaCoins.

OKAY  at .007 a week in 10 weeks that is .07 and in 50 weeks that is .35 bitcoin am i correct> or is the .007  a fraction of a unit different then a bitcoin.

Cool, it's actually provably fair!

But games like these will die out when there's few / no players.

Plus, 1.9% is a bit high for risk since you take on no risk. Peebet does 0%.

Thanks for the feedback! Would you personally play it if the rake were lower? I can't imagine someone playing at .9% but not 1.9%, but I could easily be wrong about that.

What do you suggest for the first problem? What about a bot that always plays a little into every pot?
Having a lower house edge gives you a competitive advantage versus Satoshi Dice. However, given how satoshi dice is now a 1 confirm game pretty much..

Still, with big amounts people could double spend it after a confirmation.

When they deploy the next batch.

The dividends are pretty good by the way.
5231  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie stickies and the bitinstant sticky on: April 15, 2013, 02:28:01 PM
It's still stickied? I saw it briefly being unstickied.

Having it as a 1 of 3 sticky is even worse, because now it is almost always the first thread anyone sees.
5232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: README replies on: April 15, 2013, 02:20:00 PM
Or not.. ?

Stickying a bitinstant support thread can be easily seen as an endorsement of BitInstant. With all the delays and issues they have being having.. It's unfair to other bitcoin services too, and is somewhat useless to people outside of the united states (since they can only trade vouchers).

I'm sure that a forum thread is not the most efficient way of handling support, but why wouldn't bitinstant want the free advertising? And every time someone has an issue, it actually bumps the thread.
5233  Other / Meta / Newbie stickies and the bitinstant sticky on: April 15, 2013, 02:15:47 PM
It's probably a good idea to clear down the amount of stickies, however why is BitInstant still stickied? The forum is endorsing BitInstant and newbies see the thread as an endorsement, but this is a special privilege only given to bitinstant. In addition, there has being tons of issues and delays, and while bitinstant seems to be actively resolving them timeframes of a week or so aren't uncommon and there are reports that bitinstant is marking up the quoted price by an undisclosed $6.

Just take a look here.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

I really think that the bitinstant support thread should be unstickied, especially with all the clearing going on.

Why is Bitinstant a sticky?
