5221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a safe haven for criminals on: February 23, 2022, 12:03:32 PM
Exactly. That's what I would like to emphasize here: very soon when all those criminals come to realize that using cryptocurrencies(not only Bitcoin) can very likely lead to lead to their capture, they will stop using it, and Bitcoin will no longer be associated with criminal activity, like, ever.

Savvy ones already know, and the fact that as early as 2018, blockchain analytics provided evidence that less than 1% of all transactions were for illegal purposes didn't stop the news mills from recycling the same tired thread. Study from Elliptic, which I believe has also worked with enforcement agencies.

The study looked at 4 years -- 2013-2016 -- and the highest was in fact in 2013 where it was just over 1%.

Quote
"Only 0.61 percent of the money entering conversion services during the four years analyzed were verifiably from illicit sources, with the highest proportion (1.07 percent) seen in 2013."

Dead horses still provide beating value to those eager to consume it.
5222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: February 23, 2022, 10:37:55 AM
Well thats kinda wild isnt it.  I was expecting Chelsea to flop a well but not to the point that they would lose against Lille, a draw most likely but yeah we'll see. Aside from that, I'd love to watch if Villarreal would win against Juventus as I think they have a solid performances so far in LaLiga to keep up with Juventus so I made a small parlay bet of Draw for Chelsea vs Lille and Villarreal to win  Tongue

Yeah, well, I guess it was a wild punt haha. Saw a video on the weird celebration from Pulisic, don't know if the angle was weird or the celebration intentionally childish but they definitely didn't flop haha.

The only winners were those who bet on the draw or BTTS I guess last night, not terribly great value.

What do you think today about the Atletico - United game? Atletico is a slight favorite according to the bookies, but neither team is really performing well this season.

United might be in a slightly better form at the moment but Atletico still knows how to play on the result - whereas United does not.

United is undefeated in their last 5 CL games but they won only 1 out of their 7 knockout games in Spain. Atletico however has 4 defeats in a row against English teams.

Backing Atleti tonight but wish the odds weren't so poor -- United have a lot of experience in that squad and my rational mind says they're the value bet for ML. They were unlucky Liverpool was in that string of 4 losses though, they didn't play badly.

Terrible my team plays tonight so I can't watch UCL!
5223  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: February 23, 2022, 09:35:38 AM
That's very nice of you to say, thank you. I don't consider myself a tipster at all, though, and I know as soon as I start to believe I'm actually good, I'll start losing a lot of money haha.
That is probably true Smiley
Since doing EFL Championship promotions I noticed some people are much better than me in predicting results and exact scores for matches.
Some of them are wining free bets very often so I even remembered their account name.
Have you already placed predictions for Matchday 27 of Majestic7 Premier League?

Yeah, I see the same names winning the predictions a lot too, of course I've won a few but if you try a hundred times, you get lucky. I also find that if I pick without betting, I tend to be a lot more rational. Which is why I respect tipsters who put money where their mouth is, and good thing we see plenty on this forum (though also plenty of those who don't).

I've put MD27 picks in yes, I only got 3 last round. Went with much more predictable ones this time... see if all the usual suspects finally hit it all in the same week!

So true, mate, so true. Happens to me all the time with poker, but what is a bit strange, even with slots. Smiley I mean, in theory, nothing affects your slot game, right? It doesn't matter what you believe, whether you consider yourself good or bad, technically it has no impact on the game, and yet the moment I start thinking that I've found that's being boosted today, I start loosing.

Thank you! Slot game depends purely on luck, so if I win I can't take the credit. Smiley What's in my power is to stop in time, to not lose much more than I can afford to.

Perhaps there is an impact you're unaware of. Unconscious change in strategy, wager amounts, frequency even. I like betting on value for example, but after one or two big wins, I perhaps tend to overestimate value for a while after. I definitely have a Liverpool bias too, and an underdog bias, and that sometimes affects the value I perceive.

May you always have the wisdom to know when to stop and enjoy your slot winnings!
5224  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Sportsbet.io ⚽ Arsenal + Southampton + SPFC ⚽ Prediction Contest (TH-FRI) on: February 23, 2022, 09:15:07 AM
Game 1:  9' 2-1 Arsenal
Game 2:  9' 2-0 São Paulo FC
Game 2:  9' 3-0 Southampton

Easy wins for all 3 partner clubs!
5225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: February 22, 2022, 09:54:17 PM
~snip
I'd go for Under 2.5 in both games for tonight. Although I've got both Juventus and Chelsea to win in the pool.

under on both matches seems as a good choice, but one should be careful
on the other hand, Chelsea to win is no value bet, and Juventus is hardly poised to win tonight

I will go with draw in Spain, will see what will came up, it is a beer money ticket, with some other bets, hockey and volleyball

Good calls, both. Unders I guess were about 2/1 and the Spain draw I'm sure was also 3/1 same as Juve win.  I lost Lille and Juve MLs, but secured the BTTS for Juve-Villareal on an important acca (worth 1.98 so very happy) for a moment in late first half the stats began to rack up and I thought maybe... but I was watching Juventus match instead after that guy scored the fastest goal for a UCL debut -- 31 seconds! Have to say it turned out to be as drab as the scorelines suggests. Kept giving ball away to each other.

Hope tomorrow's better. Atletico win is next on my acca Wink

1 exact score, 1 wrong result. Up 2 spots for this tiny pool hooray...

5226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: February 22, 2022, 06:50:00 PM
Not the best of games in the CL today - it often happens that these early knockout stages are unattractive, at least on paper.

Chelsea should win easily today, whereas I believe Villarreal can really make things complicated for Juve. I will probably watch that one, I hope to see Vlahović in action.

I'll be very happy if there aren't any draws. Want the second leg to be desperate, to be a must-win, but I also don't want a Lisbon game where there's nothing left to play for and they won't risk anything just to salvage some pride.

Happiest for me tonight would be a Juventus and Lille win -- I just prefer their quality to Villareal at the moment, and I know Chelsea can easily win at home, so can afford to lose tonight (plus I've got an oversized bet on the French).
5227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto prices crash as threat of war looms on: February 22, 2022, 01:28:58 PM
Not just the threat of war. Ongoing conflicts all over the world, some have happened right under Bitcoin rallies -- not even sure if the previous conflict in Ukraine affected Bitcoin, wasn't around then.

It's just the scale of, the actors involved, the implications on energy (oil woohoo) and just power plays across the board. Putin knew his speech would probably be the most-watched in recent years and made sure to say a lot. Ruble and Sberbank are toppling, so we know investors there are afraid as well.
5228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Crash in The Next 2 Weeks? on: February 22, 2022, 12:24:32 PM
Since I'm not selling even at new ATH, I say, what the hell, let's go for it. A nice crash by end of the month, and stock market panic, a new crypto winter, it all works out for any of us who've ever said: "I wish I had X amount of BTC more".

Because while it isn't on the horizon yet, next halving's coming up. And the pricing in for that will begin end of this year, as usual, and then the next rally will ensue in a year or two.

(My alternative scenario if current one doesn't work out anyway)
5229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +80817 units on: February 22, 2022, 09:44:35 AM
Oops on both above. Furth did take the lead though, so for many minutes I enjoyed the feeling of being ahead, until Lewandowski needed all of 30 seconds after the restart to equalise. Leeds also had a strong fightback... alas, it was not to be.

Chelski was miserable, and I know Lukaku's probably going to again get his team fighting outside of EPL, but why not back Lille at such strong Superboost odds?

100 units at Sportsbet on Lille to WIN vs Chelsea @13.66. Other odds: 12.80
Units advantage: 86

Running advantage after 113 bets: +12497 (+86)
All-time cumulative: +80,903
Running units after 112 bets (14W|98L): +2428 (-200)

So who else thinks Juventus 3/1 ML is great value?

Sure, Villareal's done really, really well, to reach this stage after finishing 7th in La Liga last season (and in 6th now actually so we know they're not really a different or better outfit than they were last).

Just to remember, this is the team that forced a draw to United and won their CL ticket on penalties.

That good enough to take them to UCL Qs? I don't think so.
5232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Summary of My Bitcoin Journey So Far on: February 22, 2022, 07:41:51 AM
Sounds a bit similar to a story of a friend (actual one ha), different destinations but same route. Found Bitcoin through a doubler (not even a ponzi, just a direct deposit scam) but when he'd told me he needed BTC, he didn't tell me it was for that, so his first satoshi was mine, sent to him, sent to a doubler haha.

I'm a freelancer myself and by then had done a number of jobs (you can check my profile for some assignments from this forum in my early days of Bitcoin) so I handed him the work I no longer did. He ended up working harder than I did initially, so earned respectable amounts, but gave up the writing to pursue other "opportunities" as he'd call them.

Use to try convince him Scheme A, B and so on were all scams like the doublers. ICOs, staking, mining, etc. Even paid for physical coins unfortunately not the ones we know are valuable =)

Crazy to think he no longer is into it today, if you could ever call what he did "being in Bitcoin". He probably used it (as payment currency) a lot more than most people ever will in their holding lifetime, but he has none now and hasn't since 2020.

I look back at my old Trust ratings and the BTC I earned from those jobs (not all clients had accounts here and most of them never posted but those who did gave a fair indication of the modest dollar sums I'd earned then).

$10-$50 for anything ranging from 1000-5000 words was tight, but I was desperate and learning the ropes. But that same BTC earned in 2016 is worth about 40x more than what it was. I spent a majority of everything I earned but that was my unwitting start to DCA.

- Whoops ended up sharing about myself more than my friend.

Everyone's journey is interesting to me, I guess.
5233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 21, 2022, 08:54:19 PM
Should have been a bit more adventurous than 2-0 pick but who'd have guessed 4-1 anyway?
2-0? big mistake, i've said it a few

Indeed. There are lessons to be learnt all around from the big boys, and I'm ignoring them time again (of course, when I do try to be a good boy Serie A seems to punish me on BTTS).

Don't believe in Levante today, but already on first minutes they had crazy open miss.
The first 10 minutes was ok but maybe it's just me the rest of the half was poor, I don't think there was anything other than one good shot saved early on, the rest of the game has been snore and not even brutal to deserve many cards. Feel so cheated after a great weekend. Going to just switch off and hope Celta salvages my Monday, no points anywhere to be found.
5234  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Southampton FC Main Sponsor 🚀🚀 on: February 21, 2022, 04:18:31 PM
Awesome news Steve! 2nd Hash Clash is hopefully going to end in Saints doing the double -- I remember with some joy the value win, and since Watford's also been knocking about with the odd win or so, backing Southampton should still do at least a 2/1 prize.

@Trofo yeah, I was pretty surprised too. Things have really changed over the last month or so. I almost want to say life will return to normal more or less (but I really shouldn't jinx everything with my prophesies).

P.S. Noticed the famous British football pie in the pic too. Can't do the full experience without that savoury piece of culture heh heh.
5235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 21, 2022, 01:52:25 PM
Haha lee don't worry about it. I know I look dumb gushing about Liverpool but it's okay, we all have our day in the sun. I'm not even sure I celebrated your win less than you, and a lot of Merseysiders did as well, by the looks of it on social media haha.

Anyway, just to report in that Olympics is over and I won my 1.11 outright on Norway. Big deal, I know haha, but also played my freespins remainder from the gold medal promo for 0.19 mbtc.

Final tally won from freespins: 0.64 + 0.19 = 0.83 mbtc.

Throw in the small profit from the outright and I got 0.94 mbtc profit. Hey, not bad for a little bit of fun, right? Ha!
5236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 21, 2022, 11:59:53 AM
Yup, Inter also my shameful bet of Sunday. At least I lost on Leeds and even Furth but they were both very possibly on the cards for an upset!

I not only had them on ML but on BTTS, and I thought it cleared because they were 5 minutes on Livescores showing as 1-2 but I guess goal was ruled out (wasn't watching). Can't say I'm that mad though as other legs failed. A lot of draws at HTs ruined me.

Don't tell me they're going to be the next Atalanta, disappointing every game bleh.
5237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Low was $34K or will be ~$25K on: February 21, 2022, 09:32:12 AM
Going to be a long road, this first quarter, not that it wasn't ever on the cards.
Oh, the dreaded weekend again, when we thought that it should be a slow down, the market suddenly turns into a downward spiral and now we are in the $38'ish because obviously the $40k support was not strong enough.

I think it has been projected that the first quarter will be very tough, calls for $50k? probably not going to happen with the current geo-politics around the world that has affecting all the financial markets.

Yeah, that was a smallish bummer for me. Smallish because I was hoping for a round of consolidation, but it seems now we've entered into another phase where we need to attack a significant barrier. I'd have preferred that barrier to be 45k as that seemed more palatable than 40k -- but it's not entirely bad as it still means a bit more stacking at a real value price, if I want to use JPMorgan's "real value" estimate at 38k!

Definitely doesn't look like a 50k attack any time soon.
5238  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-10] CNBC: Binance is taking a $200 million stake in Forbes on: February 21, 2022, 06:57:03 AM
I predict CZ’s next project is a charity organization or a foundation. These are very much similar to what billionaires do to create corporate identities that they can use for holding and moving money and also be exempted in some forms of taxation hehehe.

You mean something other than Binance Charity, which was the one I was referring to above about tax-exempt 501(c)(3) licensed non-profit? I've actually had dealings with them, they were a lot more aggressive and professionally run than the run-of-the-mill charity I've come across, but lacking the "smoothness" you'd expect from a global-branded non-profit -- and I say this as well as a compliment, even if there's some reluctance to it!
5239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: February 20, 2022, 09:49:19 PM
Did anyone catch the 1st round knockout in the main event for Jamahal Hill.
He made Johnny Walker look like a straight board on his feet just before falling over for the win.
Didn't see that happening so fast from Walker's last few fights I thought he had more fight in him to withstand Hill's blows to atleast the 3rd round.
Here is the fight from the official UFC youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08YJ4Qk0eRg

Thanks for the share. Still wince inside everytime I see a lightning-quick KO. Walker tried to lure him in for his right kick but I think he didn't connect well on his first attempt and then seemed to have lost patience after as Hill just kept encroaching, accepting the invite and then pow. All over, but Hill was my pick. Hard for me to ignore 12/10 odds when predicting.

Man, your skills in sportsbetting always amaze me. No wonder you are betting 1 mBTC at once with 4.42 odds. Smiley You really know what you are doing. I understand that luck is always involved, and winning a bet can never be guaranteed, and that's why I always suggest to gamblers to make their own decisions, but if I were to choose a tipster, I would choose you without hesitation.

That's very nice of you to say, thank you. I don't consider myself a tipster at all, though, and I know as soon as I start to believe I'm actually good, I'll start losing a lot of money haha. I've been very lucky that the season I started sportsbetting seriously was 2016, during the rise of Klopp and Liverpool, and at the same time the pinnacle of City (Liverpool winning me a lot, and City losing also winning me a lot). Champions League football also has been a revelation thanks to what I believe is a huge disparity in the odds and actual on-field performance.

I know you're doing pretty well with slots (I do pay attention), so may your luck continue!
