5241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Anybody all in in one altcoin? on: November 02, 2017, 08:50:02 AM
75% of my portfolio are Waves and thinking to add more.

I made a big mistake not keeping one single BTC and now it's too late.

Don't know if buy more Waves or some Monero.

You should definitely split your coins, and always make sure to have a good percentage in bitcoin. It is not too late to buy BTC. There were people who thought it was too late when it hit $1,000. If you buy now, then you'll be happy when it hits $10,000. Definitely don't buy more Waves if you already have a lot. Even if I really like a coin I never have more than about 30% in it at most.
5242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BLOCKCHAIN TECNO WILL SURVIVE, bitcoin not on: November 02, 2017, 08:38:43 AM
PErsonally I think bitcoin will survive and prosper and the value will continue to increase over the years.
However it does make sense to never go 'all in' on one thing, so even if bitcoin rises steadily it is prudent to not bet everything on this one coin or on cryptocoins generally. We make educated guesses about cryptocoins but it is still effectively gambling.
5243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why there are more BCH then BTC? on: November 02, 2017, 08:26:28 AM
well at least that's my guess

That's exactly my guess as well, so I'll back you up! I' don't follow it so much now, but I remember that bitcoin cash had some big difficulty adjustments (reductions) after people stopped mining, and then they all flooded back... and left again when it got more difficult, etc.
5244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did i double my BTC in one week on: November 01, 2017, 01:45:07 PM
I'd also say definitely avoid these groups. Maybe it starts off well, but at some point they will start giving you signals after they've made their own move. The point of the groups is to make money for the people who run them, and the easiest way to do this is to give out signals that benefit their own holdings.
5245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether to bitcoin? on: November 01, 2017, 12:39:01 PM
I would go for bitcoin in the short-term, it's showing big growth pre-segwit2x. But after the fork who knows?
I think ETH is good too, just not at the moment. So for longer-term I'd say split between btc and eth.
5246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Top ICO Out of These on: October 31, 2017, 10:36:48 AM
Ok I know you all have your favorites but after the Electroneum craze settled (ICO finished), I have now seen these pop up the most for the next best investments... Which do you choose ??

Just don't take the results of this poll as a reason to invest! Always make sure you have thoroughly researched it. Sometimes when people recommend a coin it is because they have a bag that they want to offload. With ICOs if people are involved in a bounty campaign for that coin then they will want to promote it to increase the amount sold at ICO and so increase the bounty pool. So just be careful and do your own research!
5247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My strategy for the next hardfork SEGWIT2X on: October 31, 2017, 09:59:58 AM
You shouldn't take bitcoin gold fork as being the same as Segwit2x. The two events are really not comparable, bitcoin gold was basically just another alt whereas segwit2x is a proper chain split.
With the btc gold split, basically no-one lost any faith in btc, everyone just viewed btc gold as a free airdropped alt. Segwit2x is different and could be really chaotic. We might see an alt dump like before bitcoin cash, or alternatively people might want to stay out of crypto altogether until everything settles down again after the fork. Really difficult to say. I think there will be a lot of different strategies in play.
5248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When should we buy ICO's tokens? on: October 31, 2017, 09:48:43 AM
Always research before investing in an ICO. Don't let FOMO rule, don't get swept up in the hype.
I don't know the details of that specific ICO, but in general if you are going in it is best to get in as early as possible to take advantage of any bonuses.
5249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Participate to boubty and airdrop campaigns on: October 30, 2017, 11:43:53 AM
I'm new to crypto  Grin and i want to know some stuffs about bounty and airdrops.i have participated some bounty and airdrop campaigns. But i haven't got any tokens or anything from it  Undecided Undecided Undecided .I have already created myetherwallet account and gave it's address to all participated bounties and airdrops.I want to know shoud i have  some ETH value in my MEW account Huh  Huh Huh .Please help me to get some capital from those campaigns.
Thank u
Naha

I think the problem is likely to be that the tokens haven't been distributed yet. Bounties and airdrops often take a while to come through. Another explanation might be that you need to add them as custom tokens in your wallet - plenty of stuff on Google about how to do that.
5250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta unstable platform on: October 30, 2017, 11:32:01 AM
I personally wouldn't recommend anyone use etherdelta if you using it for big amount of money use at your own risk, the site is extremely unstable, orders get stuck , sells gets stuck, buy orders get stuck and just vanish without a trace.... Nothing seem to ever work correctly. Owner of site has not fixed any of those issues. The platform is a traders nightmare...

I've had problems logging in at times, and it certainly isn't the most user-friendly trading site... but sometimes it is necessary to use it to trade in the more obscure coins that aren't listed elsewhere. I don't think it's too bad, just not as easy to use as bittrex etc.
5251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO's tech is better than that of ETH? on: October 30, 2017, 10:04:46 AM
We do also have to bear in mind that Ethereum has very strong developers and we are halfway to PoS now. ETH is certainly not standing still, and for the moment I think is a stronger bet than NEO.
5252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Other BTC, are you holding any other crypto? on: October 30, 2017, 09:51:33 AM
Mine varies quite a lot, the only real constants are bitcoin and Ethereum. I think if you are not going to trade very much, then bitcoin is best and only those altcoins that you are convinced have a strong future.
5253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In it just for the money? on: October 25, 2017, 08:34:05 AM
I suppose I am in mostly for money, but with ethical restraints. If I think something is unethical I won't get involved even if it would make profit. But then I don't evaluate every project from an ethical perspective, it's just those that clearly stand out as wrong for me.
5254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will we see all altcoins red when Segwit2x will be near ? on: October 25, 2017, 08:11:08 AM
How do you think guys ? It will happend again ?

I think there will be a whole market drop. The question is how much will it drop? There is a lot of uncertainty around Segwit2x, and it is often uncertainty that causes prices to start falling. I don't have an answer to how much it will fall, but I'm watching carefully.
5255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING.. BEWARE OF ALL E COINS! (eBTC, E CASH, ETHB) BEWARE OF TROY! on: October 25, 2017, 07:48:52 AM
It's good to start the thread to remind everyone to be aware of these. It is one thing to apply for an airdrop, but another to invest in one of these coins without doing research. They are only able to pump the price because people are willing to buy. So always do your research before buying in to any coin, don't let FOMO rule over cold hard logic.
5256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where the hell is the OFFICIAL Bitcoin Gold Airdrop?? NOT Imitators! on: October 25, 2017, 07:37:54 AM
Alrighty, I have found a Bitcoin Gold airdrop on Waves (NOT Bitcoin Gold) and I have found Bitcoin Gold on Ethereum as a token (also NOT Bitcoin Gold) and I cannot find any information on the official Bitcoin Gold website. So . . .  Is there really a Bitcoin Gold airdrop???

So far it looks like it does not exist!!! Anyone know where it is?? Thanks in advance!!

It's not an airdrop, it's a chain split. It happens automatically - whatever you have in your BTC wallet, you get the same amount of bitcoin gold. The snapshot happened yesterday, so the "airdrop" is already done.
5257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reversal is happening.. bitcoin money goes to altcoins! on: October 24, 2017, 08:54:01 AM
Hi guys.. i am happy to see that the reversal is finally happeninig.. bitcoin is decreasing and money is flowing to my altcoins .. a 12% recovered in a few hours for my diversified portfolio ( 0 bitcoins on it).

good luck to all.. we will meet at ATH of our beloved altcoins again!

do you realize the sameż

It's happening all the time  Wink

Yes, people who didn't want bitcoin gold took advantage of the bitcoin price rise, then moved back to alts before the fork. Those who did want bitcoin gold are now moving back to alts after the fork. This is as expected. The next question is what happens when we hit the 2x date... presumably this will have a greater effect on the market because it's more of a big deal than bitcoin gold is/was.

Should we be anticipating something similar to the big drops pre-bitcoin cash that we had this summer?
5258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $10 in every coin. How would it go? on: October 24, 2017, 08:42:16 AM
Heres a fun thought game. So there is approximately 1200 coins on CMC. And maybe another 300? not listed. Suppose you invested $10 in each one today (this week? How long would that take?). That $15000 USD. Hodl it! Where do you think your total investment be in 1 year? 5 years? 10, 50, 100?
Would you be ahead? Under? Counting all forks, clones ect. How many of them would be dead?
Share your thoughts!!! We can look back on this thread in 5, 10 years and find out who was right!

I'm sure you would lose money doing that. If you restricted it to top 50 you might make money, top 20 you almost certainly would. Basically the higher the ranking in cap you restrict it to, the more profit you are likely to make (excluding where you only select a few coins, as the value of individual coins comes more into play).
5259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you make money from ICO? on: October 24, 2017, 08:19:29 AM
An initial coin offering is similar in concept to an initial public offering (IPO), both a process in which companies raise capital, while an ICO is an investment that gives the investor a cryptocoin, more commonly known as a coin or a token in return for investment, which is quite different to the issuance of securities as is the case in an IPO investment. Do you invest in ICO? and has you make money from it?

A lot of people make money from ICOs by taking advantage of bonuses. If an ICO offers 50% bonus coins during first x days, then people will take up this offer and then dump the coin as soon as it hits exchanges for an almost guaranteed profit. This is why I think coins shouldn't offer early buy bonuses.
5260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where will the money go after the BTC fork??? on: October 24, 2017, 08:01:13 AM
As expected - money has flowed back into alts with btc dropping.
Operated like clock work, I monitored coinmarketcap for an hour after the fork and it couldn't of been more timely.

I wonder if we will we a larger scale version of this after the 2x fork?

I wonder the same thing. It could well happen, as 2x is much more of a big deal than bitcoin gold is/was. 2x could end up being like it was this summer with the first part of segwit.
