This is mainly a bitcoin forum, so the answer would be pretty obvious.
Just a correction, advice about investing in bitcoin is not about this forum being a bitcoin forum, it is just about bitcoin being an asset, that if we invest today, we will gain after a while.
5242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To keep coin long term on: April 28, 2021, 06:55:30 AM
You are welcome to this forum. If you want to hold, no professional will tell you the exact coin to hold, you will need to research about it after making you suggestions. But if I am to advice you, you can go for bitcoin, but that does not mean some other coins are not good to invest, but make a very good research before investing. Know that you can lose if you start investing, but do not panic, if you truly hold, coins like bitcoin will increase price after long time which will make you gain. You should know how shit coins are very dangerous, they are the very low volume coins of no value that newbies can think of having potential tomorrow, although some can have potential tomorrow, but many or most of them can result to complete lost of money invested, I will advice you to stay away from shit coins.
5243  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Crypto wallets keep you safe on: April 27, 2021, 08:59:42 PM
Bitcoin is a very good alternative to fiat but not fully a substitute, they can exist together which makes humans to find means of diversifying money and assets. I do not see bitcoin promoting cashless society because there is still money printing, if you are also talking about fiat generally, is fiat not one of the major means that are used to buy bitcoin. Also know that fiat can be cash and also can be in digital form, the fiat that has been in digital form really help money printing to reduce because some people are making use of fiat in digital form also.

Bitcoin can be stolen, but it offers privacy which digital fiat can not offer, if it's private key or seed phrase is problem saved, it will not be stolen from someone, but this takes a very careful knowledge and experience. But one thing I like about bitcoin is that it is helping people in countries that their fiat are getting devalued to be a safe haven.

5245  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Finding private key in Blockchain wallet on: April 27, 2021, 09:09:39 AM
Looks like it's a lucky guess of seoincorporation since the only clue of the wallet being old in the OP is: he's trying to claim BTG which is a quite old fork, there's no clue in case of "imported address scenario".
I too was thinking as much when I saw this thread, because I was unable to see private key on blockchain wallet, only address can someone be able to see, not even address but a QR code to master public key. If someone will need to find out his blockchain wallet private keys, he will need a BIP39 private key extracting tool for that, Iancoleman will be the perfect fit for that, or the seed phrase can be imported on a wallet that can reveal the private keys of easch addresses, just like on electrum which can also reveal the private keys.
5246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance reach below 50% but back to over 50% in no time on: April 26, 2021, 06:29:06 PM
The dominance and marketcap are more accurately reflected real things in bear market. In such market phase, altcoins will be pulled back to their real values and scam projects will be killed to 0. Their contributions to total marketcap will be dropped significantly and scam project will have almost zero marketcap contribution.
I guess you meant low volume coins, well such projects will be called scam projects if killed during bear market by their marketcap turning to nothing but 0 but the recent bitcoin low dominance is as a result of altcoins such as Doge that increased to over $34 billion in marketcap, also is ripple that increase very significantly that its marketcap almost increase four fold recently including some good altcoins. The bull-bear-marketcap relationship can be somehow at times because bitcoin dominance during bull run at one time this year was over 70% but the altcoin season lower it to around 50%, but you are correct about saying that the low dominance will later fall more on altcoins if bear market begins.
5247  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning for another scam -Telegram on: April 26, 2021, 09:41:46 AM
This type of scam is obvious and should be avoided, but there are some people that will not be able to avoid it, they are people that are not wise, greedy and not thinking twice before doing something. Even when Twitter account of celebrities like Bill Gates were hacked, it is less avoidable this way but yet some people were able to know it is a scam, because it is what is happening already, but when I do not even know the person, just the person saw me through maybe a group, added me, and message me, I will be a fool if I send such person bitcoin or anything like money because it is not possible for me to do that, but greedy people may be victims.

5249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did Satoshi Quit? on: April 26, 2021, 08:47:55 AM
Recently, I read an article that made me wonder why Satoshi decided to quit the project without ever returning
Satoshi did not quit bitcoin project, he completed it.

and secondly, what could be so significant that he could leave such a large project as Bitcoin.
Sotoshi may want bitcoin to be completely decentralized, not having central authority. He may want people that are using bitcoin to think they are the Satoshi, that not him alone.

Another thing is that technology has progressed a lot so why no one has been able to track him down.
Track down? Why. Is he a terrorist? No. That is why.
5250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS ARE WAITING TO BUY BACK LOWER. on: April 25, 2021, 09:33:26 PM
LOOKING AT THE BITCOIN CHART , THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE PRICE MOVEMENT AS IT RANGES FROM 47K TO 51K REGION. THIS MEANS IT HAS REFUSED TO DIP LOWER AS MANY ANALYST HAS SAID. THE WHALES AND INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS ARE REALLY EAGER TO BUY CHEAPER WHICH IS WHY THE MARKET SEEMS TO BE IN THIS PHASE OF CORRECTION. I FEEL IF PRICE REFUSE TO DIP LOWER, THEY MIGHT BE FORCED TO BUY NOW AND THEN WE MOVE TO A NEW ATH.
WHATS YOUR TAKE ON THIS THOUGH GUYS?
You need to change this to lower case, your post is good, but the upper case you used will not let people to respond.

In my opinion, if bitcoin price do not move beyond $50000 for long, there could be more correction later. But let us wish that institutions will try to make sure the price still increase back above $60000.
5251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin dominance reach below 50% but back to over 50% in no time on: April 25, 2021, 08:47:56 PM
Bitcoin marketcap dominance was lower than 50% last week according to Coinmarketcap, but not long when it increased back above 70%, according to the news I read, the bitcoin dominance at the start of this years was 70.68%, but decreased to 49.35% last week Thursday. The last time bitcoin dominance was below 50% was in January 2018. 2018 was the worst year for bitcoin ever as its price decreased below what many people could expect. The price has increased significantly some days before 2020 halving and continue to increase till this month of April.

But I am thinking it is possible the decrease in dominance just like 2018 (below 50%) is indicating another bear market like that of 2018 gradually setting in. What is your opinion about this? Though bitcoin price can not fall below certain range even if it decreased.

5252  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie sign message. on: April 25, 2021, 03:28:36 PM
I think a sign message or the knowledge of it is a necessity for in-forum and off-forum Bitcoin-er, but many aren't knowledgeable about this necessity, I actually experienced difficulty try to sign a message from my mobile phone, till I tried it on my Laptop.
There is nothing hard to sign a message using mobile wallet, mycelium wallet can sign a message, coinomi can sign a message (but coinomi is close source which is the reason I do not recommend the wallet). Electrum can sign a message too, but only on desktop versions, its mobile versions do not support message signing even in the latest release.

Which mobile wallet did you use?

If it is electrum, it can not yet sign a message, only the desktop can for now.
5253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lightning bitcoin payment on this forum on: April 25, 2021, 02:54:54 PM
...
You have two good reasons why lightning network can not be used to manage a campaign:

1. The payment is not treaceable just like onchain transactions.
2. No wallet yet support multiple payment.

I think using lightning network should not be suggested for now, a campaign manager can just still go for altcoin like Litecoin or Monero for payment which have low transaction fee. If I am a campaign manager, I can even manage a signature campaign in which I will request users to submit both bitcoin and altcoin (like Litecoin) addresses. I may use altcoin address for payment if the network is congested as it is recently.

And as for the question, I just want to see peoples opinions. Having a lighting network bitcoin payment could be the fast reason I may choose lightning network for now, but yet I do not see any good reason I should use it, no friend around me is using it.
5254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The account of the cryptocurrency exchange was blocked on: April 25, 2021, 02:38:59 PM
4. or just use a non KYC p2p exchange like Localcryptos, bisq etc
If a trader is a day trader or even swing trader, he can not use p2p exchange, p2p exchanges are for people that want to sell crypto for fiat. Localbitcoins is not a non-kyc exchange, Localbitcoins according to its terms of service, it will require strict kyc, for people to have privacy, Localbitcoins is not an option. Bisq is a good exchange, in fact it is a decentralized exchange, it is one of the best for privacy, but the mining fee can be high, but it is a recommended exchange to use.
5255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Without key can we assess coins on wallet on: April 25, 2021, 10:54:05 AM
I notice that without a private key a coin that is been gotten like two years can't be retrieve, so in this effect does it mean that their is no any other ways or means someone can bypass private keys and penetrate into he or her coin without applying private key? Because at some extent it can be very easy to lost a wallet key that contain big account of cryptocurrency base on the coin using, so what is the remedy if we lost private key? And how can we retrieve a private key if been misplace, is it possible to retrieve it?

Please am here to learn what I don't know.
If you love the coins stored on your wallet, you will not lose the private key. If you think private key is hard and consist of numbers, letters and other characters that are difficult, then try to create a seed phrase. If you know 24 words are too long, then create 12 word seed phrase and do a proper backup on paper and store safely, make like two other copies and make it beyond the reach of any other person.

The other way is the have your wallet file as another backup but wallet files are not that reliable as they can be corrupted. Without these mentioned, you will not be able to access your coins, which means you should protect them.
5256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where should i keep my bitcoins? on: April 24, 2021, 11:51:24 PM
The latest version of Electrum creates native segwit wallets by default and, afaik, Binance supports all addresses formats (legacy, nested and native segwit).
It is true that latest electrum which is 4.1.2 will create segwit wellet by default, but binance on the other hand does not support nested segwit, binance only support legacy and native segwit. But this should not be the talk because you can withdraw from binance to any address of your choice, I do not think it should be a problem. As for the OP, he is not getting something right, this should just be the abc part of bitcoin that all bitcoin users do know.
5257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where should i keep my bitcoins? on: April 24, 2021, 02:00:13 PM
It depends on the wallet. If you're using Binance or Bitcoin.com, no, you can't send to any address type. As far as I know, you can only send to legacy (1) and nested segwit (3) addresses.
If you want to withdraw from binance (in case of OP)
He can withdraw to any address, he can withdraw to legacy, compatible (nested segwit) or native segwit address. But the best is for the OP to make use of native segwit which is electrum default address wallet type in version 4.1.1 and 4.1.2, to be able to use low fee on electrum during transaction.

If he wants to send bitcoin to binance
Binance only support legacy (address that start with 1) and segwit (bc1 type). Binance is not supporting compatible addresses (nested segwit which starts with 3).
5258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where should i keep my bitcoins? on: April 24, 2021, 01:54:02 PM
You now have Nested segwit addresses starting with “3” that can be used to spend funds from your Binance. Just remember that procedure once you want to recover the wallet in the future.
Please, I do not get this, someone can send bitcoin to any generated address? Irrespective of the address he is using or that is generated from electrum, he will still be able to withdraw the bitcoin on binance.
5259  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Freewallet or Atomic Wallet? on: April 23, 2021, 08:52:46 AM
Atomic wallet is closed source. Their actual claim is they use open-source library.
Changed. That means it is hard to see any altcoin open source wallet, or is there any open source altcoin wallet?
5260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now it's time for all weak hands to drop their Bitcoins on: April 23, 2021, 08:37:26 AM
I was surprised to see the price of bitcoin below $1 trillion dollars today, but that is how bitcoin price do fluctuates. Bitcoin is just a limited asset, that makes it valuable, its price can rise and fall back, but over long time, there will be a next rise.
